Grey Damon as Ashton Sanders
Vanessa's POV
"So, to sum it up, I don't want anybody to freak out, especially the newbies," Ashton looks at my spot and raises an eyebrow. "Every time the exam period is on its way our task isn't easy but everybody has already done an incredible job for this month's issue and I am sure we can handle next month's issue as well. We have done it before. Fwi, nobody died." Everyone laughs and Ashton stands up. "Crew dismissed," he says and the meeting ends.
He is always so encouraging and supportive to every single member of the paper. During the meeting he listened carefully to each word everybody had to say and congratulated the staff for its ideas and creativity. Somehow he finds a way to make it all look simpler. There is a lot of pressure on getting the paper right and on time when studying gets in the way. I totally panicked and I have a lot in my plate at the moment, but after Ashton's reassuring speech I have one less thing driving my head crazy. Even though there is still plenty in it, that is considered as a progress. Besides, I don't think I can find a solution for the rest of the mess that is happening in my life right now.
"I thought I managed to make you feel better." Ashton tells me and sits next to me on the sofa.
"You did." I give him a small smile.
"Then why are you still here when everybody has vanished about 10 minutes ago?" he whispers playfully. I take a look around and realize that his office is empty as he says.
"Oh, my... I didn't notice..." I feel pretty embarrassed about it. My brain hasn't been functioning properly during the last couple days.
"Are you okay?" Ashton looks at me concerned.
"Aha." I nod. Everybody is asking me this question lately. Do they really want an honest answer? Can I really give them an honest one? I doubt it. I can't even be honest to myself.
"Don't even bother to fool me. You're not and it screams from a hell of a distance." He caresses my back. "Is it about exams?"
I nod again. It is safer to let him make his own assumptions than actually try to explain what is wrong. Because nothing is wrong in general, yet at the same time I can feel my heart aching as every second passes.
"You're in college now so you've already made it. This is going to be your first exam experience so it makes sense that you're anxious about it, but you are so brilliant and talented and beautiful to let things like this tear you down, Vanessa. Did I make myself clear?" he points a finger at me.
"Yeah. I am just a little stressed out. Thank you, Ashton." I smile warmly at him and it comes so naturally after all these kind words of his.
"Come on." he stretches his hand at me. "Let me walk you out of office, princess. You need to go to get some rest."
"Alright." I huff as he takes my arm between his. This sounds like a good idea. I feel so tired and I haven't slept well lately.
"You already have done more reviews for the month than you were actually supposed to, plus you helped Andrea with her article too." I open my mouth but he speaks again. "And yes, she told me about it. As she told me you did that the previous month and the month before that."
"That wasn't anything really. I am glad that I could give her a hand." I shrug.
"Well, it is something to me. Actually, more than something. I don't want you to wear yourself out." His tone is serious. "And as much as I want to see you everyday, I don't want you to come over the paper for the next weeks. Take your time to study and relax. Everything is going to work out." His smile lightens his entire face and my heart a bit as well.
"Is that an order?" I cross my arms and stop walking.
"Yes, it is an order, princess." He opens the door for me. "Off you go. It won't be long but I will miss you." he raises his eyebrow at me back again.
"And I will miss you too." I step out of the paper's office laughing. But I immediately freeze.
Nathan is looking at me and Ashton with eyes wide open. He is standing still, his back on the wall with two coffee cups in his hands.
"Nathan, what are you doing here?" I speak my mind out loud. How can he be here of all places?
"I..." he hesitates for a second. "I was waiting for you." he then says with confidence.
"Okay?" I give him a puzzled look. He was?
"Here." He hands me the one cup. It is warm and I can smell the caramel all over the air. He remembered that I like it this way?
"Hey, I don't think we've met. I am Ashton." Ashton goes for a handshake.
"I am so sorry, I didn't do the introductions." I facepalm. "This is-"
"Nathan." Nathan speaks for himself and shakes Ashton's hand glaring at him intensely.
"I've heard that. I haven't seen you around, man." Ashton returns the glare in the same mood.
"Really? That doesn't make sense since I've been on your paper's cover already." Nathan fakes a smile.
"Ah, you're Nathan Parker?" Nathan nods instead of speaking and I am thankful he prefered the silence. "Congratulations on the the last game."
"Thanks." Nathan murmurs out of his teeth.
"But I didn't say that, seems you didn't get it right. I haven't seen you around here before." Ashton points at the paper's office.
"Well, you know what the say. There is a first time for everything." Nathan smirks. "Vanessa, you ready?" he looks at me after his long glare who's-gonna-blink-first contest with Ashton.
"Um... yeah?" I am more than confused. He comes out of nowhere and he waits for me out of the paper's office, a place he has never been before. Not to mention, he brought me my favourite chocolate flavor. And he wants me to go with him? What is this all about?
"Let's go." He takes me by the hand. "Oh, and nice to meet you, Ash."
"You, too." Ashton watches us with his arms crossed. "Bye, Vanessa."
"Bye, Ashton!" I wave at him as Nathan drags me a God knows where and why.
Nathan's POV
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.
That was a fucking catastrophe. I must have looked like a complete idiot when Vanessa came out of the paper's office with that neurotic freak! "I will miss you." Your drools were all over the floor, dude. Like be a little more discreet. Plus, did he call her princess? She is no fucking princess! And her? What did she do? She was laughing, leading him on and saying she will will miss him too? If she misses fucking Clark Kent, she can watch Smallville, damn it! Maybe Robin was right about her speculations on Monday. Maybe he made a move? And if she laughed, it means she has no problem with that. I am going fucking nuts!
"Excuse me... but where are we going?" Vanessa asks me puzzled. It is a logical reaction since I've popped out of nowhere and dragged her without a reason. This is not polite as she would say so I let her hand and stop walking.
"I thought we could work on our project." I admit part of the true, a part that is damn pathetic.
"You did?" she is looking at me surprised. I guess she didn't expect something like this. She's not the only one. I didn't either.
"I saw Alice and she told me you would be at the paper so I thought to pass by. I wanted to see you." Fuck. I didn't just say that. She blinks multiple times trying to let it all in. "I mean you were like shit the other day." Fuck, you don't say to a girl that she looks like shit. "You just weren't fine. I was worried." What was that now, Nathan? Fuck. Vanessa is even more shocked by the words that came out of my mouth than myself, if that could ever be possible.
"You were?" Does she have a problem with her ears, damn it? I am not gonna say it again.
"You heard me. Are you feeling any better today?" I give her an examining glare but she turns her head to the ground.
"Yeah. I am fine. Thank you for the hot chocolate." she lifts her hand up pointing at it.
"It must be cold by now. How much time do you spend at the paper?" I hope I sounded as indifferent as I intended to.
"Not as much as I want to for sure. There is so much going on and that keeps me away." She sighs. I am glad she has other things to do than being there but these things might be the reason behind her intense break down as well. Could she be talking about that Ashton dude? "But this is still warm enough." she points at her cup again and thanks me with a brief smile. Where is her full bright smile that reaches her big green eyes? I've missed it.
"You better drink it fast then." she nods.
"So do you seriously want to work on our assignment today?" she asks.
"Yeah. If you want to. I have done the thing you had prepared with the damn paper clips and-"
"You did all the books by yourself?" she cuts me off. "That was a lot, you shouldn't have, Nathan."
"Well, I did. So we get to my place to get started?" I begin to walk.
"No. We can't do that." What did she just say?!
"What's that supposed to mean?" I remark calmly. I hope I sounded calm at least.
"I also did a little work on my own and we have to adjust it to our paper as well." Technical problems is the reason. I can work with technical problems. "I don't have the flash with me."
"Okay, let's go to the dorms then?" I purpose. "I have my parts with me on the flash and the books in my car."
"Okay." She follows me in silence and suddenly I miss her damn non stop questions. We get in the car and I start driving. I observe her out of the corner of my eye. She looks damn exhausted like she lacks of sleep. Oh, man this is bad. Little spy Robin told me she wasn't at her best but still. What I am seeing doesn't please me. Is that Ashton guy responsible for this? If he is the one to blame, then he should change his name to Ass-ton. His handshake almost cut my hand off. But I clutched his own hand as well. He hasn't seen me around, huh? I should have put your fucking paper in your ass, Ass-ton. He was interrogating me and calling me an idiot straight to my face! I wonder how I holded myself and didn't punch him. Well, maybe I'll kick your ass soon, Ass-ton!
"The dorms are on the right?" Vanessa interrupts my fantasy.
"Yeah, right." I turn fucking right. We reach the dorms briefly and I get the books from the back sit.
"Lead the way, miss Adams." I tell her smirking as I open the entrance door of the building.
"We should take the elevator. You are carrying too much weight. It's on the second floor." she informs as she pushes the button with the number 2.
I've been to the dorms multiple times for birthdays and getting laid reasons obviously. I've been to this floor as well but I had no idea Vanessa was living here.
"Here we are. 17B." she opens the door.
"It seems cosy." I lean on the doorstep taking a glance at the room.
"Get in already." she pulls me, or should I say drags me in.
"Wow, you're still in there." I say smirking as I hold my arm pretending she hurted me. Not that she could ever do that. Physically at least.
"Come on over." She eyerolls. "This is my side of the room." She points on the left.
"It is damn obvious. I would never think Alice had a pink blanket." I tease her.
"It is fuschia, do you suffer from colour blindness?" she crosses her hands but she looks far from pissed. That's it. I'm almost there.
"Well, that gaunt baby can't be Alice either so..." I shrug pointing at one of the photos on the wall.
"Hey! That's my first Christmas!" She comes next to me.
"Look at your hair, it is like you stuck your finger in the plug." It is indeed. She is in her mother's arms while her dad makes a funny face to make her laugh even if she has no teeth. Her parents seem really young.
"I am just a baby here, watch it!" she pats my shoulder playfully. Just a bit more, Nathan. You got this.
"Even babies can have a bad hair day." I look at her holding my laughter but she releases hers first.
"Oh, I had a lot of bad hair days as a baby!" She laughs loudly holding her stomach. "My mom would bathe me and comb by hair but after a couple minutes they would rise up uncontrollably, refusing to be tamed! She would put me a headband but still nothing worked." Her head falls back as she continues laughing. She seems like she needed it and a wave of pride raises in my chest knowing that I am responsible for this. Well, me and that baby girl on the wall, I have to give her credit too. There is a bunch of pictures hanging on the wall with some kind of string that has a heart sticker on its edge. It is so damn girly but it is perfect for her.
"I guess that stopped by the time you were 5." I point at another picture. She is laying on the ground barefoot holding hands with a blonde little girl.
"I am 4 over here. Yeah, it stopped before my first birthday, thank God! This is Emma." She caresses with her thumb the blonde girl in the picture.
"I thought she was a natural pink haired." I whisper and she laughs once again. Oh God, I could listen to her laughing for hours.
"Don't tell her secret." She brings her index finger to her lips. "This is 4th of July, you can figure it out by our matching outfits. You can't pull jean shorts with the american flag on them everyday."
"Yeah 'cause I did pay attention to the clothes." I raise an eyebrow.
"You're unbearable." She raises her both eyebrows at me as she sits on the bed. "Here I am with Emma at my dad's garage." She shows me a picture with two little girls covered in grass. "Emma wanted us to play mechanics that day." She informs me smiling. "Here I am at the morning of my 18th birthday. That's my grandma Candice holding the cake, they surprised me in the morning. Like really early on the morning." She emphasizes so I get it was damn early. "Over here I am with my dog Monkey-"
"You named your dog Monkey?" I say laughing.
"Yes."
"He might have a life dilemma until the day he dies!" I tease her.
"He did not have a life dilemma. He was the best dog ever!" She defends her pet. "He has passed sadly." She pouts at this thought.
"And here? Don't tell me you were the valedictorian at your high school graduation!" I distract her with another photo, I did a hell lot to cheer her up.
"Yes, I was." she looks me confused not realising my shocked reaction was just a joke.
"So you were always a nerd."
"I am no nerd!" she raises her voice.
"Okay, okay, whatever you say." That's how it started the last time, I am not risking this. It might end up in the Vanessa breakdown 2.0.
"I just like to study. And read. And complete my responsibilities. Speaking of, I believe you saw enough pictures." She stands up and goes by the desk.
"I was sure this wouldn't last." I puff and approach her.
"This shouldn't take long if you have done your job right. Give me the flash."
Look at her. Being back at her bossy smiling self. I like her more that way. Not that I don't like her in general. I don't like her like her. That doesn't mean I hate her of course. How could anyone hate her? Or make her cry? This question keeps popping up in my mind, I want to know what happened to her, who did that to her so I can make him regret it. In case its is that Ass, even better. I never liked the guy.
"Wow, you did all of these? That is wonderful, Nathan!" She praises me with her eyes still on the laptop's screen. The thought of being the one leading to her completely losing it the other day filled me with fucking guilt. I felt like shit and I needed to make amends. I did the damn paperwork for myself first and then for her. "This is really good." She says after reading the first of my additions. I am glad, that one took me almost 2 whole hours. She keeps on reading as I keep glaring at her room. Her desk is full of books and notebooks but so damn organized with her paper clips and posts it and colourful markers. A guitar is right next to the desk, leaning on the wall.
"You play often?" I ask her.
"What?" She is still focused on the damn paper of course.
"Your guitar."
"Hm... Not really. I haven't played in such a long time. Not since I got here. I guess I always have so many things to do." She exhales.
"You haven't played at all for these 3 months? Then why did you bring it along? You were carrying the world on your shoulders the day I met you. You know, that day you wish to erase." I try to play it cool but these words of hers cut me out like a knife.
"I... I didn't mean that." She puts her hair behind her ear. "Plus, you sound like my mom." She tries to laugh it off.
"Well, both me and your mom are right. It was damn unnecessary." You know what? I refuse to laugh it off. "You said it like you meant it though." I tell her and sit on her bed.
"I..." She takes a big breath and then scrolls with her chair wheels so she stands just across me. She takes my hands in hers. "I am sorry." She says and gives me her most fucking adorable smile. "Forgive me?" Is she really apologising to me? She doesn't owe me a damn apology.
"Forgiveness is hard for me." I decide to tease her a little.
"Can you make a try?" She rests her elbows on my knees and looks up at me batting her thick eyelashes and getting all her damn cuteness on board to make me say yes.
"I don't know..." I smirk and lean closer to her. She doesn't move away.
"Please?" She caresses the inner of my palm not breaking our eye contact even for a second. Damn it! I suppose she has no idea this could be considered as fucking foreplay. She is driving me crazy and all I truly want is to toss her on the bed and make her beg for hours.
"You know no boundaries, do you?" I tell her biting my bottom lip. Fuck, I need to show self control.
"What do you mean?" She frowns. I mean that if you keep on fucking teasing me like this, I won't be able to keep my hands to myself for long.
"You have to maintain a safety distance from me." I interwine our fingers.
"Why?" She whispers like a little child.
"For your own good." I raise an eyebrow at her and she smiles looking down at our clasped hands.
"So you're saying that not keeping my distance from you is wrong?"
"You're a clever girl. You can say it yourself." My phone rings but I choose to ignore it.
"You're not gonna answer it?" She nods at my pocket.
"I'd rather not."I shrug. I can't hold her close enough but that doesn't mean I'm letting her go.
"It still rings." She remarks. "Maybe it is something important."
"Alright." I eyeroll and take my phone out of my pocket with my one hand. Vanessa leaves my other hand too but I immediately take her hand back in mine.
"It's from home." I say as I see the number calling.
"Pick it up." She brings the phone to my ear and I laugh as I answer the call.
"Yeah?" Vanessa laughs too but tries to keep quiet for me to speak.
"Nathan, mom just told me you're not coming for Thanksgiving!" My little sister whines from the other side.
"That's because I am not, Kate." I tell her while playing with Vanessa's fingers.
"Whyyy?" She snivels.
"Just because, little monster. I told dad I'm busy when he came last Friday." My tone is sharp.
"Yeah, because of that damn practice and studying, right?" she yells angrily.
"Yeah, because of that damn practice and studying." I mimic her voice and move the phone away from my ear as she shouts crying. Vanessa brings her free left hand on her mouth concerned. I squeeze her right one which is still in mine to show her there is nothing to worry about it.
"You go be a good girl now and I'll see you on Christmas break. It's almost that time of the year." I try to calm my little sister down.
"No, it's not! It's Thanksgiving now! Aaah! I hate you!" she screams.
"I know you love me. Bye, Kate!" I hang up. "Let me remind you how damn lucky you are to be an only child." I smirk at Vanessa and reach for her other hand too. I like the way they fit in mine so well.
"You're not going home for Thanksgiving?" she asks and jerks away.
"Nope." I say and try to reach her hand once more.
"Why?" She instead takes her other hand away too.
"Since you clearly eavesdropped, you know the answer." What is her problem?
"You were standing right here, I did not eavesdrop. You lied, Nathan." She gives me a judgemental look.
"Why do you care?" I stand up. "Mind your own fucking business. Can we get done with this?" I pull Alice's chair close to Vanessa's desk.
"Okay." She rolls her chair next to me. I don't even look at her 'cause if I do I will open my damn mouth and this will end up in World War III. She might have figured this out as well because she doesn't make a sound. Good.
We spend about an hour like this. Her adjusting the new parts at the damn paper and me staring at the laptop's screen with crossed arms pissed as fuck.
"I think it is ready. The only thing missing is the cover and the content at the beginning." she says with hesitation.
"Peachy." I eyeroll.
"Um... I can do that by myself though, you've done more than enough." She just gave me the reason I needed to leave.
"I am out then." I stand up while she watches every move of my body with eyes wide open. "Bye, Vanessa. Happy Thanksgiving." I wish her with sarcasm as I close the door behind me and get the fuck out of here.
Alice's POV
I am at the dorms and it's already night outside. I am packing in a cheerful mood my suitcase, because I am going back to DC to spend Thanksgiving with my dad. In all the fuss, I remembered to inform Sophie that I finished the translations, she wanted for her class and then, she texted me back; thanking me and that she will be here, around 8.30pm.I raise my head from the suitcase, looking around for anything I might pack too and I see Vanessa, looking at the wardrobe, pondering.
"Are you still considering which clothes are you going to take?" I ask her, packing my favourite pair of jeans.
"Um, yeah that's what I am doing." She gives me a half smile.Vanessa looks a bit off these past few days. I wonder what's bothering her. I am dying of asking her, but I don't want to cross her boundaries. I guess she would have told me, if she wanted to. I feel Vanessa really close to me, but let's not forget that I've known her for only three months. It's logical for her, not to feel completely comfortable to share many things yet.
"Any progress?" I give her a smile as well.
"Yeah, I guess I am taking this green sweater. It's my dad's favourite, he says it points my eyes." She shrugs and takes the sweater in her hands.
"I really like it! So what time are you leaving tomorrow?"
"Sometime in the morning. 7 or 8 am, I don't remember really." She answers, still searching in her wardrobe for the rest of the clothes, she is going to take with her. "What about you?"
"I guess around 9. DC is just two hours away." I answer, checking what beauty products I should take. Suddenly I hear a knock on the door.
"I'll get it." Vanessa slowly walks towards the door and opens it. "Hello Robin, come in. I had no idea you were coming over." Robin comes in, wearing her black sweatpants and her leather jacket.
"Hey beauties! How are you?" She greets Vanessa with a kiss and me with a hug.
"Hey Ro! We're packing! You?" I ask her with a confused expression,as she was the last person I expected to see.
"I just got back from the youth center and Sophie texted me that she would be here to get something from you, so I offered to pick it up instead." She says casually and lays on Vanessa's bed.
"Are you Sophie's gofer?" I tease her with a smile raising an eyebrow at her. "I hope the tips are big."
"I am her girlfriend, girl. Great power comes with great responsibilities. If the lady needs something, I get it for her." She shrugs and smirks.
"Who am I to disagree with you?" I shrug, before I get the notes and a huge book from my desk. "Here you are!50$" I joke, stretching my palm with a serious face. She sits up grimacing.
"Send the bill to my rich girlfriend. I am just the gofer. I only got 2 dollars on me, but if you want, we can find other ways for me to pay." She winks and takes the book and notes. "Fuck, that thing is heavy! Thank God she is not making me carry it for her, on a daily basis." She puts them on her gym bag and lays down again. " Vanessa, come cuddle with me in a totally straight way." She tells Vanessa.
"Oh, yeah sure." Vanessa leaves the clothes she's holding on her desk, and approaches Robin with a timid look.
As I go back to my suitcase, leaving the girls cuddle, in a totally straight way, my cell rings. I guess that's Nina, who's panicking over her suitcase... But no! It's my dad. I suppose he would like to know what time I am leaving tomorrow, so he can be ready on time.
"Hey dad! How are you?" I answer cheerfully, with a big smile.
"Hey sweetheart. I am fine! You?" Is he too serious or is it my idea?
"I am packing.I hope I did not overdo it again."I let out a chuckle. "So, I am thinking of leaving around 9 o'clock. I think it's fine, right?" That's the reason he called, afterwards. What else?
"Tell your dad I said hi." Vanessa tells me with a nod.
"Also Vanessa says hi!"
"Say hi from me as well." he says and I give her his greetings, something that made her smile.
"So, I called you about Thanksgiving." he says in soft voice.
"Duhh I know that! I just told you that I am leaving at 9! Dad, I think you're getting older."
"Thankfully, my looks don't give me away." he jokes and I chuckle. "Honey listen to me. I have to cancel our Thanksgiving." he says in a straightaway and seriously. Wait... What? That leaves me speechless for a fair amount of seconds.
"What? Why?" I raise my tone, forgetting that Vanessa and Robin are in the same room. The moment I do they stop giggling and look at me concerned.
"A case just come up!" he informs me. Of course it's a case. It's always a case.
"Can't you leave tomorrow after lunch? It's our tradition. You have never missed Thanksgiving." I complain like a toddler, even though I know what the answer will be.
"I know Alice, but you're aware that the cases emerge out of nowhere. It's the job."he exhales and then continues. "Also I am not in DC anymore. I am flying with the team to Seattle." he says and I understand he feels really sorry about it.
"So what's the case?" I ask, being stubborn.
"Alice you know I don't like talking with you about my cases." Of course he doesn't.Overprotected father and stuff. "I am sorry that I have to do that. You know I wanted to spend Thanksgiving with you, but there are people who need my help." His voice is soft and calm. He's right. Why am I so selfish? Maybe there's a person in danger, as we're speaking and I am complaining about a stupid Thanksgiving table.
"I know dad! You're right! Sorry." I apologise to him, as I am sitting on my bed, frowning.
"I am sure you will find something to do with your friends that day.You must have met half of the college already." he tries to cheer me up.
"Yeah don't worry!" I tell him in a toneless voice, but honestly I am not feeling like doing anything.
"Sweetheart I have to go now.We land in few minutes."
"Good luck in Seattle. Be careful not to catch a cold. I know it's freezing there." He chuckles over my overprotectiveness. He is not the only one with the right to be. He's my only family left after all.
"I am sorry again! Love you!" he says in a low voice.
"Love you too! Bye!" I toss my cell on my bed and fall back on it huffing. I guess I should unpack. I was so eager to go home, but as always his job is getting in the way. I am proud of my dad, because he's the reason that many people are alive and safe, but sometimes I just wish he had a normal, boring office job.
"Is everything alright?" Vanessa asks concerned and snaps me out of my thoughts. I totally forgot about her and Robin.
"Um yes! My dad has a case, so he had to cancel. Not big deal." I try to sound indifferent.
"That's unfortunate. You can come with me to Delaware instead, my mum is dying to meet you!" She proposes with a smile.
"I don't want to be a burden. It's a family holiday." I answer to her with a forced smile. I know Vanessa means well, but I don't like feeling like I am being pity.
"Don't say that. You won't be." She takes a seat next to me and rubs my arm.
"Hey, my Uncle and I are totally in need of more people. You should join us, if you don't wanna go to Delaware." Ro proposes too.
"Are you sure? You don't want to spend the day just the two of you?" I ask her.
"No, we never want to spent holidays just the two of us, thus the invitation. Plus Soph, Joss are joining us too. They said yes yesterday oh, and Nathan is coming too we talked this morning."
Joseph is going to Robin's house? I know that he wouldn't go home neither, due to his project, but I didn't know he will celebrate after all. I thought he would be stuck with his professor all day. Also, Sophie and Nathan will go as well, so I guess I can join them and my Thanksgiving won't suck.
"Cool! I will come! Thanks for the invite!" I smile to her wholeheartedly.
"Cool, the more the merrier! My uncle is gonna love this. He's been dying to me you guys." Ro smiles brightly.
"So what? You all are going to be together while I am going to be the only one missing?" Vanessa bumps her shoulder to mine.
"Please, cutie pie, you are welcomed as well. There's no way I am letting you feel left out. Mi casa es su casa. We have plenty of room." Robin says and hugs Vanessa.
"It's settled then. I'll call my parents to let them know. Since you're not coming with me, I'm staying here with you." Vanessa points a finger at me. "Thanks for the invitation, Robin! I can't wait to meet your uncle."
"I would like to meet your uncle as well. We've heard so much about him." I address to Robin, beaming. My bad mood is getting better.
"He can't wait to meet you too. He might embarrass, me but worry not, he is a normal adult....most of the time." Robin giggles at that and shrugs.
"Great! I think it's set. You know what they say every cloud has a silver lining." I grin to them. Well, I am still a bit sad that I am not going to spend Thanksgiving with my dad as we used to, but I will have fun with my friends, at least.
