Nathan's POV

Sleeping all day long yesterday kind of put me back on track. Well, Dylan woke me up to go to practice, so thankfully I didn't miss it. That douchebag finally did something right. The moment we finished I got home and just crashed again. Last weekend was way too much to handle. A part of me wishes it had never happened; nothing would have disturbed me. Yet another can't imagine how things would have been in that case. I feel like I wouldn't have it any other way. Does this make sense? It's nonsense really. Damn it, Nathan! Have I started thinking like a damn chick? I don't recognize my own self! I put my phone in charge. It has been off since Sunday. I didn't bother to do it sooner. I needed to be left alone for once. I take a quick shower. Being "this year's big basketball talent" has its pros once more. I have one of the biggest rooms in the frat house with its own bathroom. I can't think of waiting at the line every morning for a piss like most do. I wonder how they even do it. I wrap a towel around my waist and search for some clothes. It's Tuesday so I'll probably meet Joseph after practice and go grab a bite. He's most likely gonna be at the gym. Joseph is actually one of the most decent guys around. He's not a ΚΕΓ brother so he hasn't the attitude like the majority in here. He is not a jackass as well. He is fun to hang with but at the same time able to make an actual conversation. I should text him to meet at the parking spot later.

Woah, my phone has been off for two days and it's like the whole universe has been searching for me. Calm down, people. I have 6 calls from Susan and a text in which she complains about my disappearance on Saturday. I had more fucking serious problems to deal with, lady. Then 2 texts from Brenda with picture of her and Jessica in their devil halloween costumes or should I say in nothing. Those things barely leave a thing to imagination. Horny cheerleaders. I've got also a text from my dad. It's actually Kate, she must have been playing with his phone. I don't think my dad will ever say "Hello, Nathan. It's Dracula.Boo."

The last text is from an unknown number.

"Good morning, Nathan! It's Vanessa. How are you feeling today? 😊 "

Where did Vanessa get my number? Woah, she really texted me to check on me. I should answer this now. I don't want her to think I'm ignoring her or something.

"Hey, Vanessa. I was sleeping all day long yesterday and I just turned on my phone."

I hit send and wait. WTF? I didn't even answer to her question!

"I mean goodmorning. I feel a lot better. How are you?"

I hit send once again. She will probably think I'm lame. She has been waiting long enough for an answer, I could have waited some damn seconds to say the right thing.

"I'm glad to hear that! Sleep always helps. I am good. I am having class in about an hour so I am getting ready. Goodmorning! 🙈"

"Good. What class do you have?"

I should probably start getting dressed since I'm still in a damn towel.

"Media law. Sounds boring? What are you doing today? 🙉"

"Well, you said it yourself. What's your major? I'm having practice in a bit."

"Ha, I was so sure you would say something like that so I said it first. It is really interesting though. 😝 Journalism-major. It is so weird I don't know yours either."

I like that she's chatty. It is really weird we're having such a normal conversation. Finding each other's' major after 2 months. Everytime we spoke so far it was all yelling and arguing or not speaking at all really. Now that I'm thinking, we barely had a normal conversation. All I know about Vanessa is she's an only child, her father owns a garage, her mother is a vet, she's from the same town as Joseph and Sophie, her bff is Emma, she's roommates with Alice, she knows Robin and Sam, she loves marshmallows and hates pickles.

"Everybody would say something like that because it sounds boring as fuck. Sports science-major. You're now wondering how I ended up in International History I."

"It is not! 😒 My thought exactly, why did you take this class? It seems completely out of your interest."

Now I am the one who predicted her answer. I feel satisfied. We may have spent little time together but we've got a right glimpse of each other.

"Right again. I would never in a million years choose this damn class. Bill from the ΚΕΓ house did it for me. He is the one who makes everyone's class schedule at the frat house. I haven't killed him for that yet."

"Morning," I say at the guys playing FIFA at the living room and leave as they greet me back. I'll walk till the court. Driving and texting don't go together. Plus, it would be a good warm up.

"Seems like you have minions doing things for you everywhere. 🤓 Why didn't you drop it then?"

I tried to make her a little minion as well. She was proven way too difficult for that.

"That would be no fun right?😉"

"Just say you wanted to make my life miserable. You have actually attended the class only once!"

Oops. She speaks the truth. I hope she's not angry. I mean she is angry in general about that but I hope I didn't make her angry now. Damn texting, you can never be 100% damn sure of what the other means.

"Practice was pretty intense. Maybe that could change 😉"

"From maybe to definitely.. there is a lot of distance to cover. I'll believe it when I see it."

"You shall see soon, Miss Adams. What's your favourite colour?"

"Haha, pink. What's yours? Why do you ask?"

'Cause I crave to learn every single fucking thing about you.

"So damn girly. Mine is green. (To make you change the subject.) "

"(Okay, I'll keep this going. 🙈) What's your favourite fruit?"

"Apples. What's yours?"

"Strawberries. 🍓"

"So damn girly once again."

"Ha, I can't help it! 🙈 I'm a girl after all! What's wrong with strawberries?"

"I don't know. Don't they look weird? I find them weird. Pickle weird."

I quote her exact words from Sunday just to tease her.

"Hahaha, Nathan! Are you making fun of me? 😑 Pickles are indeed so weird!"

I can't help but laugh. I receive another text of hers.

"The professor just got here. Gotta go! Have a good practice! 😊 "

She's so damn punctual.

"There's nothing wrong with pickles. Enjoy your boring class. Thank you. 😃"

Someone honks his horn at me.

"Hey, Nate!" It's John, our team captain. "Going to practice on foot? That's dedication! Jump in, man."

"Well, it's a beautiful day, isn't it?" He looks at me like I just said the strangest thing.

"Okay, dude. All this walking messed with your head. You're not walking again." he tells me and begins to drive.

Alice's POV

It's the first week of November and the sunny days have left for good. It's cloudy, but some sun rays make their appearances. It's more cold than usual, but this doesn't stop people from sitting on the grass. One jacket is needed and it's cool, since the weather forecast didn't report anything about rain.

I am with Nina again, after a morning full of classes and we are going to our favourite campus spot to eat our lunch. It has become a tradition.

Nina is excited as usual, because she's having her first month anniversary with Matt, since they started dating. She's telling me that Matt has arranged something really romantic, but she doesn't know what. It will be a surprise. That doesn't stop Nina from making assumptions, the majority of which is very cheesy.

"Maybe he will do something like a serenade. Performing my favourite spanish song. Spanish is the language of love! That would be great... Or he might light up candles in the house with rose petals leading to bed? That's even better!" She chirps enthusiastically and jumps from one theory to another. I nod having a poker face, because seriously it's too difficult keeping up with Nina's pace and also I wonder how I ended up hanging out with the Queen of joy.

Truth being told I enjoy seeing her like that and I may be a bit of jealous, but in a good way. I sometimes wish having someone to be head over heels for him, but not in Nina's way. That's definitely not my style, but it's her way to show excitement and who am I to blame her?

Matt is such a great guy. We had lunch from time to time after some classes and I got to know him better. He's very sweet and caring. Lucky Nina. Once she asked him why Joseph hasn't joined us and Matt explained that they don't have the same schedule, because they have chosen different elective courses and moreover he prefered spending his lunch time with Sophie these last weeks.

Nina mentioned that Joseph hangs out more than usual with his best friend and it's even more weird, since they are roommates. Matt shrugged in ignorance his shoulders and kept eating.

"Hey Alice, look over there!" Nina pokes me stopping her anniversary fantasies.

I really wonder what caught her attention again. My eyes travel to where she indicates me and I see them.

Joseph and Sophie are sitting on the same spot, we found them the last time. The only thing that has changed is their position. Sophie is sitting on the grass reading a book, while Joseph is lying on the grass having his head on her lap listening to music.

As I keep observing Joseph takes off his headphones and says something to her, with his usual playful style. Sophie groans and she hits him lightly on his forehead. Then she answers back and Joseph pinches her cheek. Sophie huffs, smiles and then goes back to her book, while Joseph puts his headphones on with a smirk on his face.

"I think it's official." Nina announces, next to me.

I know what she's going to say and I want to object about that, but I can't find any arguments. I think the picture speaks for itself. All I can do is give Nina an annoyed look.

"Come on! Don't tell me you still can't believe it! Just look at them! They are such lovebirds." she exclaims and I make a grimace at the characterization she used.

Joseph and Sophie are really together? I don't want to believe that! We were together at the Halloween. We danced that freaking slow dance and after that we just couldn't stop. I didn't see him paying any attention to Sophie.

Nina was at the Halloween's party as well with Matt. We talked a bit there, but the rest of the night I was dancing with the girls. Emma is such a party animal and I love her for that. The next days I didn't talk a lot with Nina due to the many projects we have. She obviously asked me about my dancing with Joseph and I just said it just happened, as we're trying to get along for our friends' shake. I told her that in a text, so I tried to use the best emojis and gifs to show my indifference. Thank God she didn't see the slow dance. I wouldn't hear the end of it.

Finally I decide to use the Halloween as a counter argument.

"I didn't see him talking to her at the Halloween party. Sophie spent the whole night with Robin." I declare in a victorious voice.

"Because you were busy dancing with your girl squad." She counters crossing her arms.

"Ok, hit me! What happened?"I provoke her to tell me and I am really curious to know, but I try not to show it. I try not to show that I care about it, that it is nagging me. My best shield is to show I just share her gossip nature. Thank God, it is working.

"I was making out with Mattie in a place, where we couldn't be seen for obvious reasons. I was dressed like a cat and you know we just couldn't..." She starts saying and I nod my head in annoyance to cut to the chase. "Ok ok, I move on. Then we heard some voices. One male and one female. The one was Joseph's!" she exclaims, like she discovered life on Mars. "I couldn't recognise the other and I thought that he found his Halloween's one night stand." she continues and I eyeroll. It was logical to assume that Joseph would have a Halloween bimbo. "But then Joseph said:

'Sophie, are you feeling ok?'

The moment I heard her name, I stopped kissing Matt and my attention was dragged by them. Matt gave me the eye as it was natural, but I told him to shhh." Nina puts her index in front of her lips.

"Ninaaaaaa" I groan.

"The next second Sophie answers:

'It's still peculiar, but I am happy!'

'That's all that matters! I told you it wasn't something to be scared of.' Joseph says.

'I know, but still I don't know how to process all this.' Sophie tells him.

'Don't worry! Life turns out to be completely different from how we have planned, but to me nothing has changed. You'll always be the same Sophie.'

Sophie huffs and replies:

'Joss, I would never try that if you weren't the one to tell me to take the chance. The chance of me being happy.'

'I am glad you took it. When are you going to disclose it to our close friends? I would do that without shame right away, but I know it's up to you.' I hear Joseph's voice.

'It's still too early. I want now everything to seem like nothing has changed! Capice? So behave yourself, because forbidden things are slipping from your mouth when you're drunk.' Sophie says and I have to admit in the end she was back to her usual bitchy self. Then Joseph agreed like a good little boy and they left, back to the main room. I am telling you; this man will catch hell from a woman like her." Nina finishes her story and I am frozen.

So Joseph is going out with Sophie. What else can these words mean? They just keep it a secret, because Sophie hasn't realised that all her friendly feelings have become something more. Joseph was just behaving like his usual flirting self, because Sophie asked him to.

I danced with Joseph, but it didn't mean anything. Not that I was expecting it to have a meaning. Joseph must have danced like this with many women. But Joseph is in a relationship now? That's really unbelievable. Maybe what Nina said it's true. The only cure for a womanizer is the girl who knows and respects the most. That can be no other than the girl best friend.

"Alice, did you listen to me?" Nina asks me.

"Yeah! How couldn't I? You've just transferred a whole dialogue without missing a single dot. Are you sure you didn't record them?" I sneer, trying to hide this stupid bagging feeling. Nina laughs and then drags me by the arm to keep walking.

"Just a good memory!" she brags. "Anyway, I don't ship the idea of Joss and Sophie being together, but what can we do? Different strokes for different folks." she says indifferently.

I nod, having nothing more to say and we continue walking to our lunch spot.

**********************************************************************************

Finally day's classes are over, but the running projects are not! Just give me a break! I have to go home and start working on them, but my heart's not into it.

First things first. Let's relax a bit, so I can focus better later on my task.

What's helping me concentrate the best? Coffee and chocolate! My favourite combination.

Having that on mind I am heading to the central cafeteria, which I visit quite often with Vanessa. It also makes the best coffee and has the best chocolate pie ever by the way.

Joseph chose this chocolate pie the last time we were there and it was delicious. It totally calmed me down. I should find the one, who bakes it to congratulate him or her in person. It's a piece of art.

As for Joseph, I still can't believe he decided to settle down. Nina's words from yesterday come right back in my head. Him in a steady relationship? He looked so dedicated to his lifestyle, not that I was a fan of it, but he didn't seem so eager to change it just like that. I guess he has to be very in love with Sophie. I remember how they were sitting together on the grass and how he smiled at her. I think she's the only woman he truthfully respects. I also remember how he ditched me on Robin's birthday to be by her side. He didn't even gave me a second glance, not to mention he didn't answer me. Not that it matters anyway. Then why do I feel like I have been punched in the stomach?

Just forget it, Alice. I huff as I keep on walking.

While I am crossing the campus, a familiar figure catches my attention. It's tall with a fit body and messy light brown hair with bangs. It's Joseph, but he's not alone. He has his both hands against a wall and inside them I observe a female figure with brown long hair. They are kissing. I can't discreet the girl very well, because Joseph hides her face, while he's devouring her. It has to be Sophie! I guess they don't hide anymore.

I have to admit she's very bold and she didn't strike me as that kind of person. She's grabbing his ass and she doesn't let him to take a single breath.

Just get a room!

The tightening in my stomach becomes more intense. I am about to look away and keep walking, but suddenly Joseph is off her.

Wait a minute! That's not Sophie! That's a different unknown girl. Disgusting! Joseph is cheating on Sophie? That's a disgrace and even if I don't like her, she doesn't deserve that kind of attitude.

This jackass thinks he can have it both ways. I feel the rage rising inside me and I am about to interfere for good, but as I am rolling up my sleeves a thought of reason crosses my mind. Such a rare moment.

I can't just go over there like a WWII tank. They don't bother anyone here. Also how am I going to excuse myself? I am not supposed to know he's dating Sophie, not to mention I am not going to hear the end of it from Joseph. I don't care about the complaining, but about boosting his master ego. I will be a jealous little girl in his eyes that just couldn't bear the sight of him making out with a girl.

It's so awful that I can't do anything. Anyway, it's not my business. I groan. I low my fist and I keep walking.

After a while I am getting into the cafeteria and I order to a sweet carrot head girl. It looks like they are out of chocolate pies.

"Don't worry!" She beams at me. "Try out this black forest! It's my specialty." She winks at me.

"Do you bake them?" I ask surprised.

"Yeah, it's kind of a hobby!" She admits with a coy smile.

"You're pretty amazing. That chocolate pie was like a holy symphony to my palate." I effuse over her baking and she giggles.

"Thank you!" she gives me a warm smile.

"I should say thank you... your name?" I ask cheerfully and this conversation distracts me a bit.

"Chloe!"

"I'm Alice!"

"Nice to meet you Alice! So did I persuade you about this beauty?" she points at the black forest cake.

"No doubt!" I answer with a wide smile and it looks so damn alluring.

"Great! Here is your coffee and your sweet." She puts them on a disk.

"Thank you Chloe!" I smile and I go to sit and relax a bit, eating this gift from heaven.

I take out my literature fantasy book to read and I start eating. While I am absorbed by the book, no paying attention to my surroundings I hear a familiar voice calling my name.

"Hey, sexy! How are you, babe?" Robin approaches me cheerfully and sits across from me.

"Hey chica!I am fine! No fighting crime today?" I smile at her, remembering her as Batgirl in Halloween.

"Nah, I am kinda busy lately. I'll leave the saving to you." She winks and smiles brightly. She seems very happy those days.

"I'll try to fill your shoes. So what's up with the smile? You're trying a new style there?" I ask her in a casual tone.

"No, no new style. Just someone new." She says in a cryptic manner.

"That's interesting! Who's the lucky girl?" I ask in a sweet voice.

"Well, I can't say much cause it's kind of a secret, but I am more than excited. What about you?" She changes the subject.

"Ok, mysterious girl! I am sure she will be just as awesome as you!" I point out. "As for me I am fine, but someone that I know won't be if I tell her what I just saw." I exhale deeply.

"Oh, I sense drama here. Need help?" she asks thoughtfully.

"A piece of advice would be nice." I admit. "It's a cheating situation. I saw a guy that I know hooking up with a girl, thus cheating on his girlfriend, who I kind of know but we are not in the best terms." I try to explain the situation the best way I can. "Anyway it doesn't matter that I don't like her. It's still not right for her. The only problem is that they keep their relationship in secret, but I happened to know it in some kind of way!" I finish narrating and Robin looking me with a puzzled face.

"You do know a lot of things, girl. Listen, as a woman I think you should tell the poor girl. Tell her that you know of her status and that you saw her dimwit of a boyfriend with another bimbo. Who knows, maybe you are saving this girl from a lot of trouble." She shrugs.

"Yeah, I think you're right! I hope I can tell her in a calm way, because that girl bites!" I sneer, nodding my head. Robin smiles until something gains her attention. She is looking behind my head and I turn as well. Sophie.

"Hey, pret--- Sophie! Over here!" Robin waves like crazy at her, and soon enough the ice queen is next to us. She is wearing tight black jeans, a dark grey coat and a white cardigan, and a very big checkered scarf. She sits next to Robin smiling at her and then greets me timidly. Her cheeks are red, must be from the cold.

"Hello, Αlice." She says and takes off her scarf.

Robin takes her scarf and starts taking off some lints. It's kind of weird, but anyway.

"Hey Sophie!" I say in a steady voice. She looks completely clueless, but I can't say anything to her now. This has to be a private conversation.

"Sorry I am late." She turns to Robin who keeps smiling. "Joss made me lunch and our kitchen was kind of destroyed, so I had to clean the place." She says and blushes.

What kind of a blow smoke move! Make her lunch and then banging someone else. What a dipshit. He didn't even made the effort to clean the kitchen, but that would be too obvious.

"Awww, that's thoughtful, considering this is Joss we are talking about." Robin comments joyfully.

"What? Hey, Joss is an excellent person to live with. And he is more of a teddy bear than you think. He is always sweet to me and loving. We have known each other for so long, so I know all parts of him." Sophie says seriously.

Seriously? That girl is so blind! She can't see she is dealing with a scum? I can't even hold myself back, hearing all these nonsense about how caring and good Joseph is!

"Do you know where your sweet and loving Joss is right now?" I ask raising an eyebrow.

"He told me he would go to the library to grab some books." She says calmly.

A lie as I thought.

"No, you idiot! She's making out with another woman just a few metres away." I shout, without thinking.

"So? Joss is always making out with someone. Is that supposed to be news?" She asks confused. Robin is also confused, looking at Sophie.

"Excuse me???? You don't mind that he's banging someone else as we speak? What's in that small head of yours? Rocks?" I yell at her.

"Ok, Alice, not that I like you very much, but I will give a manners lesson. A) I have a very high IQ, so no, my head is not full of rocks, b) what Joss is doing is his own business, not mine. I am not his mother, and c) you are slut shaming my Joss, so you better watch it. Oh and your attitude is pretty un-girl like. This isn't a field." She tells me with a coldness in her voice, crossing her arms on her chest in an aggressive way.

What the hell is she talking about?

"I could not care less about my ungirly attitude. You're acting like you don't give a shit. He's fooling around and you just accept that? Like everything's smooth? Are you going to prepare him a proper meal as well to regain his strength? Oh God! I don't know how you put up with this! What kind of open relationship is that you have? He will be messing around, while you will stay home cleaning the place for him? That's a new kind of low." I keep bowling at her, without giving a damn.

Robin and Sophie are frozen and they are looking at me in shock.

Are there still women who put up with this kind of attitude from their boyfriends? It's so frustrating. As I was growing up, my parents taught me to be independent and to lean only on myself. Later my dad would warn me about notorious guys and how I should never let them make me their toy. He is always ready to beat up any guy that hurts me, but he is aware that I can do that myself.

"I am sorry, my what?" Sophie asks with eyebrows raised.

"Don't give me that ignorance look. I know you're dating Joseph!" I say in a straight voice and my eyes are piercing her.

Sophie is speechless next to Robin, who is trying hard not to laugh.

"God, this is pure Gold!" Robin is waving her hands around giggling, while Sophie's posture is stiff.

"You think Joss and I are dating?" Sophie finally reacts.

I am confused and my eyes move between Robin, who can't hold her laughs and Sophie, who is expressionless.

"Yes! I think it's pretty obvious! You go around giggling and all lovey-dovey." I say, deciding not to give Nina away with all her Halloween's information.

Sophie is about to speak but Robin interrupts her. "To be fair, I would have the same reasoning, Soph." Sophie eye rolls.

"You see a boy and a girl together and the first thing that pops into your head is that they are dating. Hmm.... not so smart after all. You luck imagination." Sophie says smirking.

"What if I tell you that I have a best friend, since I was a child? So at first I objected to the idea of you two being together, but I don't act like that with my best friend. Anyway, someone also eavesdropped on you two at the Halloween party, by accident and heard some things about keeping it a secret and stuff like that." I admit looking in her eyes. She is intimidating! I have to give her that.

"Who did that? Are you kidding me, this was a violation of privacy!" She clenches her jaw glaring at me.

At this point, Robin caresses her forearm and she visually relaxes. They look at each other's eyes for second and then Robin leans in and whispers something to her. Once she leans back again, Sophie nods faintly and starts playing with her scarf.

I wonder what's going on.

Robin turns to me.

"Hey, Alice, remember that I told you that there's someone in my life now?" She asks calmly.

"Yeah! You told me like 2 minutes ago! But what does that have to do with our conversation?" I ask confused.

Robin looks at Sophie, while Sophie is looking far ahead, not focusing on anything. "Well, I am kinda dating...........Sophie." she shrugs.

I am jaw dropped.

"WHAT????" I exclaim and the people turn around to see what's going on.That alerts Sophie.

"Can you keep it down?" Sophie starts, but Robin, nudges her shoulder.

"Why don't you let me do the talking." Sophie nods and Robin continues. "Yes, Sophie and I are dating. It's kinda new, it happened after my birthday. We decided not to tell many people. Only our closest friends." Robin smiles sweetly.

I put all the pieces together now. That's why Joseph was spending all this time with Sophie. That's why Joseph left me in the cold. I remember that Sophie was really upset that night. She must have been through a very difficult phase. That's why Vanessa was so cryptic sometimes. I guess she was in the support group too. Of course she would. Vanessa is the ideal person, when you need a shoulder to cry.

I feel so silly now. I was focusing on my feelings, that I didn't realise she was having such a difficult time. Not to mention I insulted Joss without a good reason, when all he did was being a really good friend.

I was right all along, but Nina conned me with all her crazy theories and the obviously misunderstood convo. Note to myself to tell her off the next time I see her.

"I am speechless now and I have to admit that doesn't happen to me quite often." I facepalm and then bite my lip. "Sophie, so sorry for yelling at you! I had no idea!" I apologise with a soft voice, giving her a warm look.

"I hope that makes it very clear that Joss and I are best friends." she says. "I guess maybe we give off the couple vibes, but we are not. It happens a lot, so whatever."

"Don't worry you are dating one of the best chicks in campus!" I wink at Robin. "I don't know why you're keeping it a secret. You should be proud of yourself and your choices. Don't give a shit about what others think." I give her a supportive smile.

"Thank you." Sophie gives me a timid smile. "Sorry for calling you a savage, indirectly." Robin shakes her head but also starts messing with the scarf.

"Sorry for calling you a snob Ice Queen in my mind." I beam at her. Sophie grimaces at the characterization but she nods. Then I turn my eyes to Robin. "Seriously I didn't know you are into intellectual style. I thought you digged fit sweaty girls, after hitting on me at the gym." I remark raising an eyebrow.

Robin is facepalming while Sophie is shocked. Oops.

"You hit on Alice?" Sophie asks still in shock and Robin looks kinda scared.

"Kinda." She says grimacing. "You never know who's gonna be gay, people don't walk around wearing labels, I thought I should try." She looks apologetic.

"Don't worry that was B.S. I can't blame her though, gym clothes look really good on me!" I wink and try to smooth the atmosphere, as Sophie is tight up again, which is kinda working 'cause she is smirking shaking her head.

"Just as I thought Joss was the last person of this kind, you prove me wrong. You guys are alike. It's funny and annoying. You should start hanging out more, I am curious as to which one of you is the least modest." she smirks again.

An unwilling smile crosses my face, hearing those words and I try to stop it from spreading all over my face.

I think Sophie noticed that, but I am not sure. I hope she didn't.

"I can't reach Joseph's bragging levels. The sky is not a limit for him." I grin.

"It sure isn't. To infinity and beyond!" She jokes and I laugh.

"So Robin when are you going to hit the gym? I miss you, running partner." I turn to Robin.

"Um...maybe the day after tomorrow, if Sophie and I don't have anything planned. Speaking of! Sophie likes jogging, and you do too. How karmic is that? Maybe you guys can run together sometime." Sophie stiffens at that.

"Yeah sure! Sophie we can arrange a jogging session sometime! It would be fun! I always need a good competition." I wink at her and her posture loosens up.

"Um....yeah.....sure...we..can. But I have to inform you I'am very competitive. Hope it's not a problem. I don't run with people in general."

"Not at all! I hope you can keep up!" I smirk. "Give me your number."

Sophie nods and she writes her number on my phone. I call her once and she has mine too.

"Great!" I announce. "I will call you one of these days! Stay tuned!" I chirp. "We can dish on Robin...Or Joseph even better. I need some info so I can mock him more." I simper.

"Ok, I might have some stories." she says mischievously.

"Great! Guys, I gotta go! Projects are running and as always I am running late. Good to see you!" I stand up taking my bag.

"Bye, sexy! See you around." Robin winks and Sophie's face falls a bit, but then Robin discretely holds her hand and Sophie smiles.

"Bye Alice. I will be waiting." Sophie says, cheeks flushed and smile on her face.

Joseph's POV

I check the time, while driving my car. It's 10 o'clock in the evening. I've completely lost track of it. I am exhausted and starving, because I woke up early to take a look at some notes, due to a lab examination that I had in the afternoon.

Then I made lunch, because my brain needed the calories for the exam. Sophie appreciated the effort, but it lasted only for two minutes, because she became furious that the kitchen was a bit messy. I think she was too dramatic over this, but whatever. She's a cleaning freak and all I can do is put her on mute and just nod.

Anyway, the exam was a success as I was expecting and I celebrated the best way I could. I hooked up with Stephanie, a brunette girl, at the school campus. Stefanie was horny as fuck and we quickly moved to her dorms to fuck the hell out of her. She sent away her roomie and we spent banging the whole afternoon. Seriously this girl wouldn't let me go. She couldn't get enough of me! Not that I blame her. She came multiple times and her screams are still echoing in my ears.

I need a hot bath and a good dinner, after all this sex. I hope there's still spagetti left.

A couple of minutes later I am outside of my apartment's door. I don't know if Sophie has returned or if she is still with Robin. It's still hard to believe that she has a girlfriend. Sophie, the person who doesn't like to be touched.

I unlock the door and there she is. She's sitting on the couch, reading a huge as fuck book with the TV on a documentary.

"Hey Soph! How come you aren't with Ro?" I ask raising an eyebrow.

"Hey, nerd. Robin is with Sam, and I don't have to be with her 24/7 you know. How are you? Where were you?" she asks not really interested in my routine.

"Sorry I thought cute couples spend all the day together!" I shrug. "I had this lab examination at noon, which I nailed, by the way, and then I nailed Stephanie." I smirk, as I am sitting next to her.

"Oh God, this is so gross! You are horrible." She puffs, hitting me with the cushion.

"I'll take that as a compliment." I answer, trying to take the cushion from her. She lets me have it with a puff. We sit in silence watching some weird shit on tv, when Soph closes the book and puts in on the coffee table. I take the chance to change the channel.

"So........guess what happened today." She says with her eyebrow raised.

"Did you have sex with Robin?" I answer with a smirk.

"Joss! No! Oh my God, no! It's too soon! Oh my God!" She panics shaking her head like crazy.

"For God's sake, Soph! I was just joking! Chill!" I remark, poking her arm.

"Ha ha very funny. Anyway your thick head lacks imagination so I will tell you. Alice basically verbally attacked me, calling me your idiot of a slave, and a disgrace to human race for letting my BOYFRIEND hook up with other girls." She crosses her hands.

After hearing that, I burst out laughing.

Alice thought I was a couple with Sophie? That's really interesting news. I remember her, giving me weird glances when I was sitting with Sophie on the grass. She was jealous of me and Sophie? That's really amusing.

"Really? She fell in the trap as well, huh?" I utter between my laughter. "I have to say this girl never cease to amaze me. First she had the guts to verbally attack you and second she comes up with the most imaginative labels. I should write them down." I seriously can't stop laughing.

"Oh my dear Joss, you know I have access to scissors right?" she moves her index and middle fingers mimicking a scissor in front of my bangs. "Anyway, yes, she was offensive, so in the end Ro had to tell her that we are together. She was shocked but apologized." she shrugs.

"Yeah she does that. She is a bigmouth and blurts out anything that comes to mind, but at least she recognises when she is wrong." I admit. "So she acted like that only because she saw me with another girl?" I ask curiously. This conversation topic really caught my attention for good and I want to know as much as possible. I even forgot about my hanger.

"Yes, and I can't help but wonder why. I mean, it's none of her business. What do you think?" she eyes me curiously.

Actually I don't know why. Maybe she was jealous seeing me with another girl? This thought makes an unwitting smile crossing my face. But still, this is Alice.I never know what's crossing the pretty little head of hers and that drives me nuts.

"Alice isn't really fond of the-woman-serves-the-man type of relationship. She thought we were a couple, so make the connection." I state using all the rational fact. That would be the most logical explanation. "How pissed was she?" I ask indifferently, but curiosity is eating me alive.

"Why do you care?" she asks raising an eyebrow.

"I don't. Just discussing." I answer casually and I hope she buys it.

She gives me one last suspicious glance and I try to keep a poker face, in order to not let her see my craving curiosity.

"I give her a 9 out of 10." She retorts.

She was that pissed? I don't know why, but my mood lightens even more if that's even possible.

"And just because she supports that, it doesn't mean it is her duty to protect my heart. I mean, I do, but you don't see me warning the girls you bring over that you are a man-whore that will probably never call them again." Sophie concludes, in a sharp voice.

"Who said I don't call them? I always do, for a second round." I wink at her, with a mischievous smile.

"You know, I changed my mind, I think I will cut your tongue off instead of your awful hair." she threatens and I chuckle.

"Too bad you didn't record that catfight. It had to be priceless. " I remark, crossing my hands behind my head. "No offense, but my money would be on Alice." I give Soph a glance.

"Eff you, traitor, I am your childhood best friend, practically your sister, and you choose Alice over me?" She asks shaking her head disappointed.

"Sorry sis, but betting money is an investment. Alice had a real martial art training, unlike you. Having watched a documentary once doesn't mean you can kick ass." I point out and she glares at me.

"Well, thankfully, I won't have to fight her myself. My girlfriend can do that for me. Defend my honor and such. Robin goes to the gym you know, and has abs..probably." Her eyes lose focus and her cheeks redden.

"Soph, your hornyness gives you away. Are you imagining Ro naked?" I snicker at her.

She hits my forehead and my shoulder.

"Nooooo!!!!!" She yells. "I remembered a joke, that's all. Anyway, did you know, that Ro hit on Alice at the gym?" She changes the subject quickly.

That's another interesting fact. The conversation becomes even better as time passes.

"What a small world! Ro didn't miss a chance!" I comment smirking.

I can't blame her though. Alice must be really hot on her gym outfit. Sports bra and tights, pointing out her curves and her big breasts. This is an invitation to hell. This thought causes a stir in my pants, so I move a bit to make it stop I hope Soph doesn't notice.

"Hmm...." She says eyeing with eyebrows raised. A smirk forms on her face. "And you make fun of my hornyness. Hypocrite." She giggles pinching my forearm. Fuck she noticed! Of course she did! That size is too hard not to see (pun intended) . "I suggest you think of snakes, or maybe clowns or something. You know....to cool off." She mocks me.

"Shut up! You have a girlfriend for like a week and suddenly you became an expert?" I eyeroll.

"I never said I am an expert, nerd, just used to it. Do I need to remind you of the 2012 incident?" She asks mischievously.

"That's what happens when you storm in my room, without knocking." I exclaim, remembering that fucking incident. I think Soph still has nightmares about it, but she had to learn the hard way.

"I am still scarred....so did the thought of someone in general, in gym outfit make you flustered, or Alice specifically, in gym outfit? I am asking for scientific reasons." Oh, she is being a douche.

There is no way I am going to disclose, not even to Soph, that Alice in her hot gym outfit is the one, who's making me hard.

"Don't be ridiculous. I was imagining girls in their gym outfits. Girls in general. Brunettes, blondes etc. Not Alice!" I move my hands, to show that I don't care. Soph gives me an examining look.

"Great, 'cause seriously, she is not even that attractive, ok? I can't believe Ro hit on her. Alice is plain." She states, pouting.

Girls! They always try to degrade an attractive woman.

The problem with Alice is that she's dangerously alluring and attractive. She's like fire! She's hot, but if you go too close, you will get burnt.

"Objectively speaking she's not plain. She has some nice characteristics." I admit, as much indifferently as I can. I don't want to admit anything to Sophie. Why is Alice always such a sensitive issue to me?

Alice is so far from plain. She has a perfect fit body with curves, an amazing ass and big breasts. Her face has natural beauty and I like it more when she doesn't put any makeup on. Plus her glance is captivating.

Fuck NO! I just got laid! I shouldn't be thinking of Alice now. When her name is mentioned her image always takes over my mind, pushing everything else to the background.

Then her image in her Halloween costume emerges. Sexy shorts pointing her curves, which invited me to grab her hips. I still wonder how I resisted the urge to do that during our slow dancing. I can't even admit that this slow dance couldn't be compared to any other slow dance with another girl. I liked how my hands were around her waist and how her head leaned on my chest. I guess that was my hornyness to blame. Yeah that's it.

"You are just horny.....but.....she seems like a decent person. We are going jogging sometime next week. Wanna join?" She asks grimacing.

"You're making an alliance with her, so you can both mock me better?" I quip, yet surprised, that Sophie will run with someone else.

"Umm, no? Robin thought it would be a good idea...wait, now that I think about it, yes, Alice and I can team up and make fun of you endlessly. Hmmm...look at that!" She exclaims enthusiastically.

Great! That will be the death of me. Alice won't stop mocking me if Sophie shares all my embarrassing stories and I know she will do that without blinking an eye.

"I have no time left next week. I don't even know if there will be time to hook up with a girl." I huff. I have to get done with all the running projects, because the deadlines are around the corner.

Truth be told I haven't even started some of them and I have to sit my ass down, in order to do them. If I fail I won't hear the end of it from my father and I won't give him an excuse to tell me off.

"Don't you even think sharing anything from our childhood with her! Do you understand me?"I point my finger to her.

"Do the dishes for a month, and maybe I will considerate it." She grins.

"I wish just for once you would say 'I'll do it in the name of our awesome friendship' , but you have to get something in return, don't you?" I exclaim, moving my hands around the place.

"That's how capitalism works my friend. C'est la vie." She winks.

"I am going to agree, because I am starving. I hope you didn't eat the rest of the spaghetti." I stand up from the couch.

"You know I don't eat the same food twice, right? The plate is in the fridge." she says.

"Sometimes it's a blessing you're being a weirdo." I say with a smile and I am going to the kitchen.

As I am preparing my food, I think about the conversation that I had with Sophie. I wish I had witnessed the whole thing. Alice's face had to be pure gold. My question is, why did she react so dramatically? Was it her feminism nature indeed or something else?

A/N: As always, thank you so much for reading! Don't hesitate to vote and comment, we'd love to hear from you! xx
