Alice's POV

When we got home, Vanessa went to take a bath and I went to the common kitchen to prepare a snack to eat. I met some acquaintances there, so I ended up chatting with them and as a result, I lost track of time.

When I returned to my room, Vanessa was watching fan made youtube videos from our favourite series in her pjs.

"Alice I am feeling like watching a romance! What do you think?" She asks me having her legs on her chair and hugging her knees with one hand, while the other is one the mouse.

"Ok! Let's cry! I let you choose!" I say, as I sit at my desk to send my paper. I plug the USB and I find my file.

"Movie's ready!" Vanessa announces, while she grabs a bag full of marshmallows!

I really wonder where all this sugar goes, since she's slim and she doesn't work out! She must have a hell of a metabolism!

"Ok! Wait to send my paper!"I click on the file and it's sent.

I sit next to Vanessa on the bed with a bag full of mini chocolates and the movie starts. After the end of the movie and many tissues tossed aside, we turn off the lights and we fall asleep.

The next morning I wake up from Vanessa's rushing in the room. Why is she a morning person? I look at my phone and it's freaking 9 am! Oh God! Today both of us don't have any morning classes, so why did she wake up?

"Vanessa it's fucking early! What the hell are you doing?" I growl and I put my head under the pillow.

"Did I wake you?"

"Nooooo this is just sleep talk." I growl again in a sarcastic tone.

"So sorry Alice! I tried to be as quiet as I could! I just can't sleep more than the necessary 8 hours, so I woke up and I tidied the room."

I remove my pillow and I see her moving things around.

"What are you tiding exactly? Everything's in place!" I observe raising and eyebrow.

"When I am nervous, I am stress cleaning!"

"What made you stressed? The day hasn't even started yet!" I raise my torso, but my eyes refuse to open.

"I have to study and write this article for the paper and-"

"Ok I've got an idea. I am stressed as well and I haven't even opened my eyes. Well, since I am awake, I am going to take coffees and donuts and teach you some yoga exercises, because you desperately need them!" I tell her with a smirk and I am heading to the bathroom.

"Teach me the simple ones, as I don't want you to untie me afterwards." she chuckles.

After half an hour we are chatting in the dorms eating delicious donuts and drinking hot coffee! At least me, because Vanessa's coffee is resembled more to a sweet cake than an actual coffee.

The conversation jumps from one subject to another! She is narrating to me the first time she ever ate a donut at her best friend's Emma 6th birthday. It was one of the highlights of her life. She loves donuts and pancakes and everything involving sugar, but marshmallows is her big weakness. That I could tell, she always has a pack of those in her drawer. Seems like she shares this obsession with Emma. They must be really close, Vanessa always smiles when she talks about her. I can't wait to meet her in person, I really liked her through our common skype sessions over analysing our favourite shows. It turns out Emma is a huge shows freak as well, but due to her travelling all around Europe, she has missed a ton of episodes. Vanessa is such a geek when it comes to fangirling. She might be even worse than myself. She loves to make theories and speculations on what's to happen to our favorite characters and spends hours on tumblr reblogging her otps. She usually goes for cheesier couples than me, but we do have some common ships, like Klaroline duh! I mean, who doesn't ship Klaroline? She hasn't travelled around at all, except those 4 times she visited her grandma at North Carolina. She is fascinated by my stories and the way I have grown up and whenever we get the chance she begs me like a little child to tell her about my life in London, Tokyo, Barcelona, the South France and every other place I have been. She is a great listener and I think she prefers listening than talking herself. Except the times she gets excited over something. Then she babbles non stop, but that makes her even cuter.

"So, I was curious about that paper you had." Vanessa says taking a sip from her coffee. She's sitting next to me on my bed wearing her onesies, which I wouldn't wear ever. Me on the other hand, I wear colourful tights and a black hoodie.

"Your nerd nature can't hide right?" I smirk and she giggles.

"Guilty! Well, will you show me? Japanese writing system! It sounds so interesting and mysterious!"

"Of course! I have to brag as much as I can!" I take the laptop on my lap and I plug the stick. I find the file and I click on it to open it.

"WHAT THE FUCK? This shit in front of me isn't my paper!" I scream and terror is painted on my face.

Vanessa stays frozen and looks really frightened!

"OMG! This isn't my paper! This bullshit isn't even near to my paper!" I shout even louder. I keep scrolling and the only thing I see are sentences that I haven't written and a paper that it's not even proper to present.

"What do you mean?" Vanessa asks, still astonished.

"This is not my paper! It has the same filename, but it isn't what I had been working on the whole week! Someone must have changed it!" I freak out and I don't know what to do.

"Don't you have a saved file of your paper to send it again?"

"I do, but the deadline was yesterday and I can't send it now! The prof is very strict! He said it very firmly: No papers will be accepted after the end of the deadline no matter what!" I exasperate and I think I am loosing it!

This doesn't happen to me often, but this is one of the rare times. But how this happened? Well it doesn't matter! I have to find a way to fix it! And fast! But how?

I rush to check my emails. Sure Mr. Emerton must have sent something. He's like a robot. There it is! One unread message.

Goodmorning! I would like to inform you that I have successfully received your papers. The grading will begin next week due to excessive load and the results will be announced in two weeks.

John R. Emerton

"Yes! Mr. Emerton won't start grading until next week. I still have time to do something" I exclaim and Vanessa jumps, because of my scream.

But What? I have one week, but I have to think of something!

At that moment my phone rings! It's Nina. I am not in the mood to talk to her right now! My ass is on fire!

Then it hits me! Nina's crush is a Computer science student. Maybe this guy is the solution I am looking for!

I answer the phone at the speed of light.

"Nina before you say anything, I need your help asap! I think it's time for you to introduce your potential boyfriend to your friend and by that I mean me! It's a matter of life and death!" I say without taking a breath! "Meet me in half an hour at the central cafeteria! Bye!"

I am sitting at a corner table playing nervously with my bracelets. After I hang up Nina, I put on a pair of jeans with a white light sweater and black short boots and I leave my hair in its natural style, which is something between straight and wavy.

As I was getting ready, Vanessa was eyeing me really confused. She asked me what I had in mind, but to be honest I have no idea. I am no IT expert, but there's gotta be a way to send my file. I know it's not right, but there's no other way.

Also how awkward will it be to meet Nina's potential boyfriend under these circumstances? The meeting won't be exactly the normal one, such as "Hey I am your girlfriend's friend. Nice to meet you!", but more like "Hey I want you to hack into my prof's computer!". The guy will think that I've escaped from the Twilight Zone. I exhale and I dive my head in my hands lap.

"Alice are you ok?" I hear a worried familiar voice.

I raise my head and there is Nina with her red hair in a casual bun with the help of a chinese chopstick. She is wearing a black skirt, a maroon sweater and tall black shocks a bit taller than the knee with short boots. Her style completes a pretty necklace. Next to her is standing a skinny tall guy with honey short hair and green eyes. He is wearing jeans with a light gray T-shirt and a blue cardigan on it.

"I wish I could say fine, but no." I pout and she's fretting even more.

"What happened?" she asks and sits across me and the guy sits next to her.

"I will cut to the chase, but first... Hi I am Alice! Nice to meet you!" I smile to Nina's crush trying to be polite, giving him my hand. He came all the way here after all.

"Hi! I am Matt!" he answers with a coy smile, taking my hand to a handshake.

"So what happened? And why did you tell me to bring Matt?" Nina chimes in, the anxiety never leaves her face.

"I will explain everything!" I announce and start narrating the paper story. I mention everything and my speculations of someone stealing it. While I am speaking their faces show no expressions, until the end when Nina widens her eyes. Matt tries to stay neutral, but I discern he's a bit startled.

"That's it!" I sigh, as I am done speaking. "The reason I asked you to bring Matt..." my eyes look at Nina first and then Matt "is because he's an IT guy. Maybe you know..." I look only at Matt now with a pleading look "a way to fix this. Like send the paper somehow... I wish I had the knowledge to do that on my own and the last thing that I want is to incommode you, but I am desperate and I don't know what to do." I pout and Nina grabs my hands tight and then she turns to Matt.

"Matt, she's telling the truth. I saw the paper and it was excellent. She wouldn't ask for such a desperate help, if it wasn't an urgency. Mr. Emerton is not going to accept the paper with delay and even if he does, she's going to have a penalty." Nina explains to Matt how the situation is like and I am feeling grateful she's supporting me.

"Well of course I would like to help you Alice, because it's obvious that someone stole your paper and it wouldn't be easy to ask for something like that." My face beams when I listen to him saying that "But I am not the guy for that job." I frown instantly. "It's not that I don't want to help you...It's that I can't help you."he mumbles.

Nina raises an eyebrow in suspicion."But you are a computer science student." she objects with a calm voice.

"Yes sweetheart, but I am not an expert in hacking. I know some things, but not at the level which is required for that job. Plus, security isn't even my major specialty. What Alice needs is an expert at that!"

"Do you know where I can find one or is that a rare species?" I try to joke in an attempt to calm myself.

"Well, the good ones are, but I've got great news for you! One of the best happens to be my best friend!" he says with a smile and my mood lightens in a second.

"Seriously?????"I jump off my chair.

"Yes! And I think he will be very eager to help you!" he tells me looking me from head to toe.

"Great! I should meet him now!"

"Wait to call him!" he says and Nina looks at him with adoration. She's so smitten. Matt returns that loving look and caresses her knee.

As he's waiting for his friend to answer, Nina gives me a meaningful look and she moves her lips saying 'I will tell you later', but the smile is getting wider.

Finally his friend answers.

"Hey Joseph! How are you man?"

Wait a minute? Joseph? Can this be the Joseph that I know and loath? Well, he fixed the library's computer without hesitation in a blink of an eye. How many Josephs with exceptional IT skills are there? Judging by our previous encounters, I bet my ass it's that Joseph.

"Can you come in the central cafeteria? There is an emergency and your magical skills are demanded immediately." Matt continues talking on the phone.

Of course Matt has to praise his ass. His Majesty can't come just like that and interrupt his precious schedule of stupid girls parading in his house.

"Nina's friend is having a huge problem and you're the only one who can help her!" he continues talking. Damn I can't hear the other side!"Come and see for yourself...what the problem is!" Matt says in an awkward voice, emphasizing towards the end.

I raise my eyebrow in suspicion, but then I realized he was talking about me! Apparently King Joseph is picky and doesn't offer his services to any girl. Gross!

"Great great! See you in a moment! Bye!" he hangs up. "He'll be here shortly." He looks at me with a smile and I nod."I am going to take a coffee. Do you need something?" he asks Nina with a soft look.

"No baby! Thank you!"

"You Alice?"

"No thanks! You've done more than enough! Thank you, really!" I say with a little smile. I am not sure how grateful I will be, but he did help me! It's not his fault that his friend and me are fighting like a cat and a dog. How can they even be best friends? Matt seems really timid and down to earth, while Joseph is the king of vanity.

When Matt leaves Nina doesn't lose a second."Isn't he adorable? So sweet and caring!"

"Well, he is a nice guy. He tried his best to help me even if he doesn't know me."

"Well, he wanted to make a good impression to his girlfriend's friend." Nina says in excitement and sparkled eyes.

"What? Are you a couple? For real?"

"Yup! Yesterday we went out for about an hour, after our lunch and I was about to discuss the whole relationship thing, but he beat me to it. So, we are officially together!" Nina is full of happiness and her whole face shines like a beacon.

"Congratulations! Like Phoebe in Friends say, you found your lobster." I give her a warm smile.

"It's your turn to find yours now!"

"What? Me??? Where did that come from?" I ask her in astonishment and I drink a bit from my glass of water.

"Well since it didn't work out with Steve ,you should try to find someone else! Maybe with Matt's best friend, Joseph." she proposes and I almost choked with the water.

"WHAT??? Nina you're getting away from the point of the meeting! It's not a romantic one, it's strictly professional." I inform her with a serious look, like my dad's when he has to keep his team on track.

"You never know where this professional meeting might lead." she says with a playful look.

"Seriously the last thing I care about now is my love life. I just want to send this bloody paper." I exasperate giving her a tired look.

"Don't worry! Matt has told me a few things about Joseph. He's a genius with IT stuff. He's going to save your cute ass and maybe later you can show him how grateful you are." Nina high-pitches the last sentence and I am on the verge of puking.

"Let's see if he's going to help me! Maybe he doesn't want to do it, for... various reasons" I say in a low voice, trying to look indifferent.

"Where is the optimistic Alice that I know? Everything will work out!" I really want to believe it.

"Yeah, you are right! I can totally pull this off! Thanks Nina!" I give her a warm smile, which she gives me back.

After a while Matt's returns with a cup of hot coffee. Nina opens a conversation on different topics to take my mind off the paper and meet Matt better.

"Here he is!" Matt exclaims, after several minutes and waves his hand.

I follow his eyes and I spot him. It's him!

I was 99.999999% sure it was going to be that Joseph, but deep down I still believed in that 0.000001% chance.

Whenever I observe him, he always has this carefree style and his whole posture screams confidence, but is that who he really is or is it just a cover?

His hair is like always carefully messy with his bangs falling perfectly on his forehead. He wears his jeans with a green T-shirt, which brings out his beautiful hazel eyes, with a black jacket. He carries a laptop bag and removes his sunglasses to find his friend. When he sees Matt, he waves back and comes towards us in a relaxed pace (I guess he hasn't noticed me yet) and in the same time many females are drooling after his passage.

The moment he reaches our table his pupils are dilated.

"Don't tell me you're the damsel in distress!" he exclaims pointing his index finger to me. "All my fantasies are ruined now!" He huffs and frowns. Then he takes the only seat left, which is next to me.

"Great! I don't want to be the protagonist to Emmanuelle Joseph's version." I spit and he smiles.

God that obnoxious smile again!

"Have you already met?" Matt barges in and Nina gives me a curious look.

"Why that's always the 1 million dollar question?" Joseph points out sarcastically with a grin. An unwitting smile flashed my face, when I heard his comment. Fortunately it was barely noticeable.

"Of course you know her! You don't let any girl get away, do you?" Matt gives a meaningful glance at Joseph and raises his eyebrow.

"Wait a minute!" Nina chimes in too. "You two had a thing?" She exclaims with wide eyes pointing at both of us.

"Are you crazy?" I shout, piercing her with my eyes. "What thing could I possibly have with a guy like that?" I point at Joseph, making a disgusted grimace.

"You wish to have many things with me darling, but there's a waitlist. Take your number and wait with patience." He smirks and makes himself more comfortable in his chair, by supporting his angle at the chair's back. Then he turns his body a bit towards me.

Nina is giving us a bizarre look.

Seriously I want to throw him in in the middle of Amazon's jungle to be swallowed by a huge anaconda. I pity the anaconda though, because Joseph won't be easy for the snake to digest.

"Do you give a present to the millionth customer?" I raise my eyebrow.

"Are you interested in that present?" He uses his flirtatious voice, as he stares into my eyes.

"When I lose my decency and my self-esteem, but to your disappointment it's never going to happen." I answer back with a smirk, looking intensely into his hazel eyes.

I almost get lost in there! Damn! I have to tame this urge somehow.

"Ok Joseph what did you do to her?" Matt interrupts our dispute and we break the eye contact.

Joseph's eyes widen at Matt and he seems offended.

"Why do I have to have done something?" He complains like a little boy.

"Because I know you! You're my best friend, but you do stupid things every now and then!" Matt supports me, and I am shocked, because he knows me for like an hour.

"As you've said you're my best friend!"

"That's why I know what I am dealing with!" Matt emphasizes, while Nina's eyes move between the two guys.

Joseph eyerolls, before he answers in a huff."That's the elevator girl!"

Matt freezes and I look at Joseph in disbelief. I can't believe he disclosed it!Nina has a blank expression, since she's clueless.

"Really?" Matt asks with doubt.

"Yeah! In flesh and bones!" Joseph presents me like I am a TV-Game prize.

"What's going on?" Nina breaks in, confusion all over her face. "What do you mean by saying elevator girl?" She asks suspiciously and then she gives me a playful look with a clear dirty subtext.

"Ew Nina! Gross!" I scold her with a grimace. " For God's sakes Joseph you make it sound like a stripping Vegas show!" I give him a light punch and he smiles playfully. "We met during our vacations two months ago in our hotel's elevator. Mr. Hot-Summer here thought it was a good idea to perform an one-act play of his Casanova moves, with his bimbo rising co-star in front of me!" I narrate without taking a breath, the story of that freaking surreal night.

"In my defence, it was not an underage program!" Joseph interjects and I give him a deadly glare.

"There shouldn't have been any program at all!"

"So you were two strangers, who met completely in random at an elevator, and after that, you met again accidentally here?"Nina sums up the whole story.

"Exactly!" Me and Joseph answer simultaneously and then we exchange an irritated glance.

"Oh my God! This is so karma!" She exclaims clapping her hands, while me and Joseph look at her like she's a lunatic. "Life is trying to send you a message!"

"That you should cut watching soap operas!" I say in an annoying voice.

"Matt what do you feed her?" Joseph speaks annoyed as well and Matt gives him a warning look. Nina doesn't look offended by the comment at all, as she keeps having her playful mood. Matt leans in to place a kiss on her cheek. Me and Joseph eyeroll in despair.

"Let's get back to our subject now!" Matt reminds us about my problem, which totally slipped of my mind the moment Joseph passed the cafeteria's entrance.

"Yeah right! Alice needs her ass saved... Again!" He gives me a mocking look and I eyeroll. "What happened this time? Your knight in shiny armor is right here!" He smirks and I give him an are-you-kidding-me look.

"If you were a knight, all the princesses would have committed suicide." I point out giving him a bitter look.

"Alice your ass is on fire! Just tell him already!" Nina barges in, cutting Joseph off, who was obviously about to answer back.

"Fine!" I exasperate and I narrate once again the whole paper story.

As I am fabling, Joseph's smirk never leaves his face and that makes me wonder what he's thinking. My eyes are examining his face's expression, but he doesn't give much away. I am sure he will acerbate me with only one comment at the end.

"So that's it!" I huff when I finish.

"How do you always manage to be in the middle of a trouble? I have to say your life is not boring!"

"I am glad I entertain you!"

"Well, obviously someone changed the file, when you forgot your stick and then renamed it. But you didn't even notice. Your head is over the stratosphere!" He exclaims, while his eyes examine my whole face.

"Well it happened now!"

"And you need my help to send your paper." He says like I didn't speak.

"I didn't ask your help! I just thought an IT student would know a way to send it, since there is no way to reason with the prof."

"That IT guy is Joseph!" Matt chimes in a low voice pointing at him.

Joseph turns to me with a wide grin and crosses his arms. He really enjoys it.

"So, you're the only one with the skills to do it?" I ask Joseph and in the same time I have a nagging feeling inside my stomach.

"If I understood right, you need someone to hack into your prof's computer and send your paper! This is not an easy task. I don't wanna brag ,but it's a piece of cake for me!" He smirks and I am sure his arrogance bar is rising from its already high spot.

"So you have to hack the computer itself?"

"That's right!"

"And how are you going to do that?"

"I didn't say I was going to do it!"

My eyes widen! Of course he wouldn't help me! Why would he? He loves watching me suffering and to be honest helping me turned out to be a disaster for him!

"First I am not obliged to help you! Second helping you is far more dangerous than walking in a minefield and third my morals won't let me! I like having my conscience clean!"

He's such a knucklehead. He just enjoys watching me at this state and uses his morals as an excuse! His fucking morality must have been dead since the stone age.

"What do you want? It's not easy for me to ask for your help, but it seems there's no other way and the time is limited! Actually I hate that I have to ask for your help, because it boosts your already huge narcissism, but I am running out of options!" I try not to sound desperate and keep my voice steady and strong as I am showing him the facts. He observes me carefully.

Then he runs his fingers through his hair and says.

"I don't know... I am examining at both pros and cons here and cons are winning!" He moves his hands like a scale and his 'cons' one is lowering slowly. "Perhaps you should try be more persuasive." he raises an eyebrow.

"Fine! I don't care! At least I tried!" I take a big breath. "You don't have to help me! I am aware of that and I know you don't have to put your ass in the line for me! I respect that!" I shout, as I am standing up. "The thing that I won't tolerate is to butter your ass! I will find another way!" I yell at him, feeling my whole body tense.

I grab my bag and I rush out of the cafeteria. I am about to explode, as I am breathing heavily. I have to find a way, but the only recourse I had, went down like Titanic.

Suddenly I feel a hand grabbing my arm and turning me around. It's Joseph! I try to pull myself together, not wanting him to see me at a weak moment.

"What?" I snap and I try to hold myself from punching him.

"I'll help you!"

"What?" Disbelief colors my voice.

"Are you deaf?I am going to help you!"

"How come with the change of heart?"

"Because what happened to you was unfair. You worked really hard and someone else is going to take the credit for it. You are a pain in the ass, especially in mine, but you don't deserve it. Plus you have to be really cornered to lower yourself that much to ask for my help. So I am going to help you, and also we are going to figure out who is this asshole who did that to you!" He tells me looking me straight in the eyes with a soft look. His expression is calm and I found myself gawping for a second.

"Really?" I say in doubt and astonishment at the same time from the things I've heard.

"Really! Like I said I have morals!" He smirks and his soft moment is gone. I already miss it.

"Thank you." I mutter, looking into his eyes. Then I beam and he does the same.

I like that bright sincere smile.

"But since I am going to do the dirty work, you have at least to get to know your prof's schedule. We should take his laptop without him realizing it!"

"I can do that! Don't worry!"

"Good!" He says in a straight voice. "What's your phone number?" He takes his phone out of his pocket.

That caught me out of guard. I still can't believe he is going to help me.

"Yeah right! We should be in touch." I admit and he raises an eyebrow playfully. "For this business! Don't get the wrong idea!" I exclaim and he chuckles.

I register my number on his phone and he does the same on mine.

"Call me when you have any info!" I nod yes.

He turns his back and walks away from me.

"Thank you Joseph!" I shout, so he can hear me and a grin is spreading across my face.

He just waves back and my smile becomes even wider.

Sophie's POV

I have spent almost an hour cleaning up my room, due to my invitation to Robin for a movie night. My room isn't dirty or anything, I clean up every other day, but Mother always says that the house needs to be presentable for guests, or else it will give the wrong idea, and I don't want Robin to think I am a slob.

After my room is finally clean, I head to the living room, because this place needs to be contaminated as well.

As I enter the room, Joss is there(I didn't notice when he came back home), sitting on the couch with his feet on the table, gross, and a beer in his hand, watching basketball. Another sport where 10 grown up men are chasing after a ball. I get near him wh-

"ASSHOLE! Go read the manual before you give this faul! What the hell? He barely touched the guy!" Joss starts yelling at the TV, raising his hand angrily. "God, this motherfucking referee is getting on my nerves" he shouts angrily and he takes a sip of his beer, but because of his anger he puts the can with force on the table and he spills some of it on the table and the floor. Double gross...men.

"Hey watch what you're doing, I am trying to clean this place!" I shout at him as I move to the table and wipe the stain better. Joss is giving me an examining look raising his eyebrow.

"The president's coming for a visit?" he asks me with a sarcastic voice. Ha ha very funny.

"No, just because I am cleaning this place doesn't mean the president is coming, you idiot." I say and eye roll. I spray the table and wipe it again in case I missed a spot.

"Then who's coming? Queen of England? Oh don't tell me our parents are coming?" He widens his eyes in surprise. "I hope my mom comes bringing goods for our fridge and stomachs!" He flashes a smile and makes a daydream face thinking of homemade food.

"No, you moron, our parents are home, and fyi your mom is not our maid! We can cook for ourselves." I reply and move to clean the TV.

"Your cooking is for someone who wants to commit suicide. I'd rather eat rocks. No offense!" He quips blowing me a kiss. Sarcastic brat. My cooking is tolerable.

"I would flip you off, but I am a lady." I say as I leave the TV and approach the couch with the cleaning spray ready. "But I will do this, instead" I say and spray him in the face.

"Hey stop it! Oh my God! I am blind!!! You ruined my beautiful hazel eyes that bring all girls in the yard!" He complains and suddenly takes a pillow and throws it to me, hitting me at the head. Thank god I am not wearing my glasses. I would have a fight with him but I don't have time. I put the pillow back and give him a look.

"As fun as it is, hitting you with a pillow, I have to clean. I have a guest." I say and his raised eyebrow appears again.

"Really? Anything interesting, like a boy I should warn about you?" he gives me a really suspicious look, which makes me nervous. Why does he always ask me about boys? I told him I am not interested in anyone.

"Um....actually....Robin is coming over." I say getting even more nervous that I actually have a person coming over.

"That's a first! You don't ever invite anyone even at your house back home. How come that change of heart? You must really like Robin, if you're willing to let her pass in your territory." He lays back on the couch putting his hands behind his head and I sit next to him. Always with the snaky comments. But he is right.

"I do like her..she is cool and comfortable. It's easy with her." I murmur surprised at the admission.

"Yeah she is! It's really easy to hang out with her and she's a really nice and kind person too. I am glad that you two finally get along and you should keep her around. She will help you socialize and feel comfortable around people." He says with a soft look on his face and his mouth edges rise a bit. He's really glad that I found a person to hang out and feel comfortable with.

"Thanks..it kinda feels nice too...to be more open with others. I like it." I say and nudge our shoulders together, making him smirk.

"So I will let you have your privacy with your new bestie. I'll go hit the gym for a couple of hours. Maybe Nathan is there or some other friend... Anyway there are many interesting reasons for me to spend time at the gym. Hint, they wear tights." He smirks and winks. Triple gross. All the sweating..eww.

"Unnecessary info, number unknown. I don't need this visual in my head. Get up and get lost, Dwayne Johnson wannabe." I joke and get up ready to get back to action. Joss chuckles and gets up from the couch.

"Yes sir! I am going to get ready." He announces and leaves the living room. I pace around the living room, being extra careful not to miss a spot and 10 minutes later Joss comes out of his room carrying his gym bag.

"I am off!" he tells me and he unlocks the door, but almost before he closes it he emerges and says with a smirk "You missed a spot right there!"

"Bye!" I give him an annoyed grimace and wave him off. The door closes behind him and I now have officially 20 minutes to get ready before Robin gets here.

After Robin arrived and we chatted for a little bit in my room, we decided to transfer to the living room and put the movie on, but the genre of the movie hasn't been decided yet.

"Drama?" Asks Robin pointing at a movie on our netflix account. Hmmm....there is a chance I will cry and I don't want that.. Not again. I already cried like two days ago. I shake my head.

"Umm...adventure?" She tries again but I shake no. I hate adventure.

"Ohh I got it! Horror !" She says ecstatic, clapping her hands.

I don't watch horror movies. They alert me in a bad way..I can't tell her that I don't like horror movies, she is gonna think I am afraid, which I am not!

"Sophie? You are not scared, are you?" She asks tentatively. Say no, say no.

"Umm. I don't get scared easily." Moron.

"Good, cuz we are watching The Conjuring. You know it?" She asks as she has the movie on display.

"Yes, I do. It was on a list I checked recently". Horror movies you should avoid watching. That was the list. I am screwed.

"Great, I've heard it's hella scary. Yeah!" She presses PLAY, as I try to think of a way to cover my eyes without her noticing...hmm..maybe I can pretend to wipe my glasses? Or rub my eyes because they sting? yes, that sounds normal, right?

Ok, here we go. Please dear Lord, don't make it an awfully scary movie.

I keep staring at the corner of the TV, in my attempt to avoid watching the scene unfolding on screen now. The creepy music playing, indicates something is about to happen, something I don't like. So in order to not get scared I just focus on somewhere else. I can't rub my eyes because I already did it twice in the 30 minutes of the movie.

Robin is chewing popcorn after popcorn, eye rolling at the scenes, not to mention that she laughed at a scary moment. She laughed!

Other than the scary moments, I have to say that hosting a movie night, is not as awkward as I expected it to be. Like Joss said, I have never done that before because a) I had no friends and b) I was nervous I would do something embarrassing. One on one hangouts are tricky for me.

But, here, right now, I feel ok. I am not afraid of saying something stupid or embarrassing myself, because Robin is..I don't know...it's easy..she is easy to be around. We have been spending almost 2 weeks hanging out and at this spam I have already cried in front of her, showed her my music taste, and invited her to my house, I mean my room. Who would have thought.

I like hanging out with her. It's nice to have people that make you comfortable. Joss has always been that person, simply because I grew up with him, you know, he was comfortable then and he is comfortable now. But new people...I need time, I thought I needed time..but Robin actually proves me kinda wrong, because I have known Vanessa for a lot longer but our stage of comfort is not the same as mine and Robin's. I guess it's true what they say about how differently people click.

With all this inner rant, I don't notice the creepy music playing again and I zoom in the tv screen. Bad choice. Damn it!

"Ahhhhhh!.." my pitchy scream breaks the silence. Idiot. I hide my face in my hands both from embarrassment and fright, but not before I notice Robin body jumping, clearly startled by my scream, along with some popcorns flying out of the ball.

"Holy duck! Are you ok?" I hear her ask as I squeeze my eyes harder, feeling my heart rate explode, and adrenaline kicking in. Speak you wuss!

"Yeah yeah I got distracted and I wasn't expecting that!" I lie and she is not convinced. Guess now is the embarrassing moment I was bound to have.

She pauses the movie though. I turn to face her and she does as well.

"Ok, from 0 to 10 how much do you hate horror movies?" She asks raising her left eyebrow. I got caught.

"Um....it's not to my taste" I say defeated. There's no point of lying. Lameeeeeeee.

"So, why are we watching this?" she asks intrigued and amused.

"Um...I was curious?" another blunt lie. She laughs and then puts a handful of popcorn in her mouth. After swallowing she speaks.

"When I was 16 my friends and I wanted to watch Paranormal Activity cuz it was one the best horror movies of the 00s. So we gathered at my place, since Alex had no problem with me watching those movies, and we all sat around my couch. The thing is that there was a rumor about the movie being real, since it's like a documentary, so we were all convinced from the start that it was the real thing. Needless to say we pissed our pants! We were holding hands till the movie ended and were like, frozen from fear. And it might sound lame, but I slept with my uncle for like a week till the fear disappeared. My friends also slept with their siblings as well. They teased us for weeks." she says and smirks. "But, after that we got hooked on horror movies! We watched everything!"

I laugh at her antics and at the image of a scared Robin. I thought that she would laugh at me, but yet again she makes it easy. She does that a lot.

She starts the movie again and I pay attention, replaying in my head that what I see is not real, it's all fake, there are not possessed things, dolls, mirrors or anything. I believe the scientific side. Possessed people were just cases of hysteria, mania, schizophrenia and all that jazz. This is a fact.

But, another horrifying scene comes and I scream, again. I puff annoyed at my embarrassing scream, when the movie pauses again.

"Ok, I have an idea to make this less horrible." says Robin and I see her turn the volume down to 0. I look at her confused. How can we watch a movie like that?

"It's the sound." She states simply.

"What?" I keep being confused.

"The sound makes you scared. Studies have shown that the discordant and unexpected sounds in horror movies, imitate the screams of frightened animals, thus it taps into deep instinctive fears. Nonlinear sounds."

"Really?" I guess she knows better.

"Here, let's watch the movie like this. You'll see." She points to the tv urging me to look at the screen and I oblige.

Ok, this is actual legit. We spent the rest of the movie laughing at how horrible the movie is without the sound. It's ridiculous! It didn't scare me a bit! Oh my god, this worked!

I can't believe I watched a horror movie and enjoyed it so much. Robin made fun of the actors, changing the lines, improvising stupid ones, resulting in both of us in tears from laughing.

She stayed for a little longer after the movie ended so we talked a bit about tomorrow's visit to the youth center and we also chatted with Joss for a while, who was bragging about getting another girl's number, until she left the house half past ten.

Tomorrow I will see her again.

A/N: Sorry for the late update. Enjoy the chapter and thank you for reading. Any comment is appreciated.
