Chapter 21
Joseph's POV
You rule with lies and deceit and the world is on your side....
What the fuck? Why are the Muse having a concert in my apartment? Reapers is playing in my head, and then I realize I am half awake on my bed, and that music isn't the actual Muse, but my phone's tune.
Too bad, I think, and I frown while I let out a yawn. Wait a minute, that's my phone ringing. Someone is calling me. I stand up, trying to wake up by stretching my body, and start following the music's sound. It's in my bedroom! Good luck finding it. The room is a mess. Sheets and clothes are everywhere.
I see Lindsay sleeping naked right next me to me with her face down into a pillow and her back exposed. The sheet is covering only her ass. She groans annoyed and moves her body a bit. In my quest to find my mobile, I found my black boxers tossed aside the bed. I wear them, and then I discover my jeans on the floor, at the right side of the bed. The sound comes from inside the pocket. Who the hell is? I rub my eyes, and I distinguish Vanessa's name on the screen. Why is she calling me?
"Hey Vanessa! Is everything alright?" I answer with a confusing voice.
"Good morning, Joseph. Did I wake you? I am so sorry." I can barely listen to her since she is whispering.
"Don't worry. What's up?" I ask her, trying to fix my sleeping voice.
"Um, it's Sophie. I mean, she is fine, don't worry about it. But at the same time, she is not fine at all." She exhales and I seriously have no idea what she is talking about.
"Can you tell me what happened?" I ask really worried. Lindsay groans and moves annoyed by the noise again, but I don't pay any attention to her.
"I don't know. She got drunk last night, and Robin took her to her place. She called me half an hour ago, and asked to come over because she couldn't find you. She sounded really panicked, and now she is here, and she won't make a sound. I don't know what to do, really."
Fuck I am heavy sleeper! I didn't even hear my phone. Thank God I heard it when Vanessa called. Fucking Lindsay last night exhausted me, and I don't even remember falling asleep.
"Ok, just don't let her out of your sight! I'll be there as soon as I can." I say to her, rubbing my eyes to fully awaken.
"Okay, thank you Joseph. Don't you worry, we will be waiting for you." Vanessa reassures me.
"I will text you to come out when I arrive." I tell her.
"Ok! See you in a bit!" Vanessa answers and I throw my cell on the night table.
After I hang up, I go near Lindsay and shake her to wake up.
"Mmmmm, what, baby?" she moans with eyes closed.
"Wake up! I need to leave!" I announce to her with a serious tone.
"Why? What time is it?" She complains and she turns completely, so her back is on the mattress. Her big breasts are exposed to me and I gulp by the sight.
Fuck! They are irresistible, but there's no time now! I have to pick up Sophie. If I had time, I would make my morning delightful by fucking her once more. I can see she's craving for that, by her sleeping yet pleased look.
"I have to pick up my roommate, so get dressed." I command her and slap lightly her thigh.
I get up from bed and I find something casual from the wardrobe to wear. Jeans and a blue T-shirt are fine! Lindsay is trying to find her clothes too.
"Do you want me to drive you somewhere?" I ask her as I am put my T-shirt on.
"Where are you going?" she asks, still looking for her dress.
"I am going to the west dorms!" I answer, going to the mirror to fix my hair.
"My apartment is at Lincoln's Street 38. You can drive me to New Castle square. It's on your way, and my apartment is 10 minutes walking from there." she informs me with a smile.
"I am taking you to your apartment. It's no big deal. How are you going to walk with these high heels?" I say and she finally finds her dress on the living room tossed on the floor near the entrance.
She's just one night stand for me, but that doesn't mean I should bail her just like a piece of meat. She's aware as well, that I am not the romantic relationship guy, so we are good and we just had a fun time together.
After we are both dressed, we leave the apartment quickly. I drop Lindsay (after a short make out session in the car) and I am heading to the dorms.
When I arrive, I text Vanessa to come out with Sophie. I am in no mood to go there and meet face to face with Alice. If she has even slept there. I bet my money she's cuddling with fucking Steve. Stop, Joss! You don't care about what she's doing.
Then I see Vanessa and Soph approaching my car. Soph is like she has seen a ghost or she just had a stroke, while Vanessa is walking beside her really close to her. Something bad must have happened for Sophie not to scold Vanessa or give her deathly glares. I get out of the car to see what's wrong.
"Hi." Vanessa gives me a shaky wave. "Look Sophie, Joseph is here." She nods at me, and just as I thought that this would be her only response, once I get near them, she leaves Vanessa's side and in seconds, she has wrapped her arms around me.
I wrap my hands around her as well and I try to comfort her. What the hell? The times that I've seen Sophie like that are rare.
"Soph what's going on?" I ask her with a soft voice, but I don't get any reply. The only thing she does is hug me tighter.
Things are worse than I expected.
"Have you eaten anything at least? Let's go have some breakfast! I am starving!" Maybe that will lighten up her mood.
"Um, I had some cookies upstairs, she didn't even touch them." Vanessa remarks kind of sad. "I think that she should eat something, maybe you'll get luckier."
"I'll get her eat that crap she eats for breakfast. I think only rodents eat that kind of stuff, but anyway. Vanessa, do you wanna join us?" I ask her, as a gesture of gratitude for helping Sophie.
"Oh, no! I think it will be better if it is just the two of you." She puts her hair behind her ear and looks at the ground.
"Come on, Ness! You were the one who texted me to let me know about yesterday. Plus, you helped her this morning. I am buying as a thank you for what you did." I look at her with a puppy face and I tuck my hair.
"Are you sure?" She looks at Sophie worried.
"Yeah! I don't think Sophie will talk anytime soon." I turn to look at Sophie, whose eyes are blank, and I am sure her connection with the real world is lost. What the fuck happened?
"Okay then. I am alone anyway. Let's go." She shakes her shoulders.
She's alone? That means Ms. Obnoxious has not slept in the dorms. I bet she has not returned from the ΚΕΓ house. She couldn't leave this opportunity go away. Fuck Mr. Doll Face President. JOSEPH, concentrate! That bigmouth is none of your concern. You're here because your little sis needs you. Focus on that!
I nod to both of them to get into the car. Vanessa sits at the back while Soph is at the passenger's seat. After 10 minutes of driving, we arrive at my favourite diner. It's a classic American one with a bar and couches and tables in line. We pick the last table, I sit opposite Sophie to have a better look at her, and Vanessa next to her.
"Hello kiddos! What can I get you?" Ms. Mary, a blond, chubby woman in her late 40s asks. She wears a pink waitress costume, and the classic white shoes. Her hair is on a bun and she wears red lipstick.
"I will have pancakes with chocolate, please." I say without even looking at the menu, since pancakes is my favourite and this diner makes them near as good as my mom. "A fruit salad too." I order for Sophie as well because her state hasn't changed a bit, as if aliens have abducted her.
"You sweetie?" Ms. Mary asks Vanessa.
"Um, I'll have pancakes with chocolate as well, please. Oh, and caramel syrup too, if that's okay. Thank you." Vanessa says with a smile and Ms. Mary goes to the kitchen.
"So Vanessa I didn't see you last night? What have you been doing?" I try to make a convo with Vanessa, because I am sure Sophie will be offline for another couple of hours.
"Yeah, I actually stayed in. Alice tried to drag me along to the party but my friend Emma called me on Skype and I hadn't talked to her since forever! You remember her? She is now travelling all over Europe." She informs me of yesterday's activities and starts effusing over Emma's Europe stories.
"I am so envy of her! Traveling like that! I hope I will do the same some day." I comment to Vanessa's narration of Emma's adventure.
"I envy her too, even though I don't think I will ever do that!" She giggles. "She is having the time of her life, really."
"Here you are!" Ms. Mary interrupts us by putting our plates on the table. "Bon appetit!" she says with a wide smile and she leaves.
"Wow, this looks delicious! Do you come here often, Joseph?" Vanessa asks as she gets a bite of her pancakes.
"Now and then! I came with Robin once last year, because I mentioned to her that Ms. Mary makes the best pancakes and waffles, but she couldn't believe me. So, I brought her to see for herself. She's thanking me everyday for that, and I got 30 bucks, cause we made a bet as well." I wink at Vanessa, and she chuckles. Sophie on the other hand, raises her head and gives me a weird look. Then she goes back to staring at her plate again.
"Well, I will be thanking you for a long time, as well. These pancakes are almost as delicious as my mom's. I totally sympathize with Robin. She is so lovely. And she took care of Sophie as well yesterday. She called me in the middle of the night, just to let me know she will be at her place. That was super nice." Vanessa points and drinks some water.
"Yeah, I know! She's one of the coolest people I know. I am so grateful she took Sophie in. You know, I was distracted and all, and didn't notice that Sophie was drunk. She's very lucky she run into Robin and not some kind of an asshole perv. The house was full of them!" I mention eating a piece of my delicious pancakes. The three of us eat in complete silence, and I am about to have another bite.
"I did something" Sophie whispers and both me and Vanessa look up from our plates.
"Define something" I say in a deadpan voice.
"Um... I said something bad" she says again and lowers her head not looking at me. Oh oh, when Soph admits she did something bad, it's not like when normal people say it, it's multiplied by 100. I look at her really suspicious and ready for the earthquake.
"Why don't we take it from the start?" Vanessa proposes with an encouraging smile.
"Well... um.. when I woke up, I panicked cause I didn't recognised the room.... and I thought.... that she took advantage of me, cause I was only in my underwear... and-"
"Who? Robin? Are you in your right mind? And what the hell did you tell her? The exact words." I chime in, because she mumbles quite a lot and I am sure she screwed up. My voice and my glance are sharp.
"Let me finish!" she yells and drops the fork. My eyes widen, but I shut up and let her continue. Vanessa is looking at the both of us with eyes widen open, completely frozen.
"She told me that nothing happened, and then I kinda freaked out again, because she undressed me, and you know I don't feel comfortable with people seeing me like that, so I kindacalledheraperv." she says the last part quickly and she avoids eye contact, burying her face in her hands.
"YOU DID WHAT???? She helped you, even though you treated her terribly, and that's the gratitude you showed to her?" I scream to her, because I couldn't believe my ears. "Did you at least apologise?" I exhale, and I give her a deathly glare as she puts her hands down.
"Um.... no...... she kicked me out. Joss... she was upset." she says clenching her fists.
I can feel the blood boiling in my veins and the anger takes its toll on me.
"Are you FUCKING SERIOUS?" I yell.
"Um, why don't we all calm down and think about it reasonably?" Vanessa interferes.
"There is no reason here! What Sophie did was unreasonable by itself. Robin helped you, despite everything that you've done, and you still can't get out of your own way. Robin is a saint. You were so damn lucky that she found you and took you in. If it was someone else, they wouldn't give a fucking damn about you. Not to mention what would have happened if one of these motherfucking rabid assholes at the party became aware of the state you were in... Maybe you don't want to know, right? Sophie, you screwed up BIG TIME!" I rave non stop, because what she did was awful, especially to poor Robin. I can't believe that this girl in front of me is my best friend and that she did that.
"Okay, yes, what Sophie did was not right, but she already said she knows that. It might seem bad at the moment and it kind of is, but there is nothing that can't be fixed." Vanessa half smiles. Sophie gives her a sad look and then she looks at me and her eyes fall again. Typical Sophie.
I keep staring at Sophie, who still avoids eye contact and I believe my eyes can make a hole through her skull.
"You made a big mess, and your ass is to blame! You know that, and don't make sad puppy eyes to me! It won't work." I raise my finger to her. "But I think Vanessa is right, you can still fix it. Am I right, Sophie?" I ask her with a heavy tone. She looks up at me, and narrowing her eyes, she takes a deep breath.
"There's nothing I can do." she replies slowly.
"WHAT-"
"Of course there is, Sophie. Don't pout! If you are like this right now, imagine how Robin must be feeling. You can make it up to her." Vanessa pats Sophie's back. She jumps a bit in her seat, surprised by the action, but she goes back to her fidgeting self again.
"You don't get it! I cannot apologize to her! I can't even face her!" she raises her voice again.
"You are kidding me, right?" I hiss at her. "We don't talk about you here, Miss delicate Princess Sophie, but about Robin, who must feel like shit. So, get your ass, woman up and go apologise to her. The Sophie Lillian Ford that I know has manners and a conscience." I growl at her, without any hesitation. Sophie looks really shaken up from my reaction. What did she expect? To pat her shoulder and comfort her? At my words, she abruptly unclenches her fists and grabs my hand, surprising me.
"Joss..... I can't..... I can't face her.... you know how my mind works around strangers... I don't want to talk to her. She hates me." she gulps, and closes her eyes momentarily.
"Of course she does. I persuaded her that you're not a homophobe yesterday, but today, every good word I've said about you went down the drain. In the worst way." I touched her hand as well. I know she's upset, but she needs to understand her fault. That's why I am here.
"She does not hate you." Vanessa raises her eyebrows at me nodding towards Sophie. "You don't have to worry about it. Robin is so nice, she could never hate anyone, I doubt it. This was just a huge misunderstanding and it can be solved. But one of you has to take the first step." Vanessa pauses for a second. "And I think it should be you." She looks at her with soft eyes.
"There is no 'should' here. It has to be you!" I chime in, but Sophie raises her hand to stop me and turns to Vanessa.
"Do you really think she doesn't hate me?" she asks, focused on Vanessa's face.
"Never in a million years." Vanessa says smirking. "Come on, this is pretty simple, and you keep making it difficult, Sophie. You will just tell her what you told us. She will understand like we did. You had your own reasons to interpret the situation, wrong or right, it doesn't matter. What matters, is that you know you were out of line and you are willing to clear things up." Vanessa finishes with her little optimistic monologue.
"Maybe I should apologize." she finally says like she just found out on her own what she has to do. Finally, the gears in her brain started spinning. Another trait of Sophie's.
"It took you only 1 hour and a half to realise." I smirk, after checking the time on my phone.
"No time for jokes, Joss." she says, which is weird, cause under different circumstances, she would be very sassy.
After finishing our breakfast, we stand up and I approach Sophie, grabbing her arms softly and giving her a touching look.
"Promise me you will apologise." I say calmly, rubbing her arms with my thumbs and she nods.
I drive back to the dorms to leave Vanessa. When we arrive, Vanessa gets off the car and I do the same.
"Vanessa, you helped a lot with Sophie today... so thank you." I beam at her.
"Oh, I did nothing really. You don't have to thank me." She puts her hair behind her ear and smiles.
Sophie gets out of the car as well and I can tell she is nervous again. Great, something is gonna happen. I keep my eyes on her as she approaches Vanessa and whispers a faint 'thank you'. Vanessa smiles back at her, and to my surprise, Sophie semi-hugs her. That's huge for Sophie. That's something you don't see everyday. I wonder what else I am going to experience in this life. Aliens? Flying pigs?
Anyway, this day is a huge step in Sophie's character development, and I should write it down so we can celebrate it.
Vanessa's POV
I honestly have no idea how time passed so fast. By the time Sophie and Joseph leave me at the dorms, it's already gotten dark outside. I think it was hard for Sophie to admit that she was wrong, but I have faith in her to do the right thing. It is easy to jump in easy speculations and be driven by anger than to take a moment to see the bigger picture. Now she has done that too, and I'm sure she will work things out with Robin. She could use a friend like her. I believe that she would be able to help Sophie open up a bit more.
Late or not, I'm gonna take a look at my notes for Media Law. I search for the marshmallows in my drawer. They are gone. Ah, I forgot. We made sure to devour them with Alice while watching The Flash the other day. In our defense, it was an intense episode. I'm left with no other choice than to go to the store and get some new. I actually do have the choice not to, but it's habit of mine. Emma and I used to study eating tons of marshmallows. She always had the most, but still. I put some shoes on, and grab my jacket. I miss Emma. We only talk whenever she manages to find a Wi-Fi connection. Most of the time, the connection isn't even decent. I guess that goes with the traveler's life. She's on the road for almost 2 months now. I could use some daily doses of her fearless spirit. God, I miss her. I am happy for her, though, she always wanted to see the world. With the money we saved from our summer jobs throughout the years, she collected enough to make that happen. I would be surprised if she didn't. She's pretty strong-minded to let the universe get in her way. Plus, she sounded like she is having the time of her life when we spoke yesterday. She has met so many people, and seen a bunch of places already. Yes, as long as she is happy, I am happy for her too.
Thinking of my bff got me at the store without even realizing it. I pay for my beloved candies, and I'm now walking back to the dorms. I'm half my way when I notice lights at the college court. Isn't it a little late for that? I'm not an expert at this kind of staff, quite the opposite actually, but I don't think the team would have practice at such a time. I can see only one car outside. I have the feeling it looks familiar. I go closer just to make sure. I know the owner. It's Nathan's, aka my life's ruiner. I stop and recollect my own words in my head moments before. To see the bigger picture, not to be driven by anger. That's it, I am going to approach this whole Nathan situation in a brand new way.
I cross my fingers and enter the basketball court. It's huge, and the empty seats probably make it look even huger in my eyes. There's only me. And him. With small and quiet steps, I walk to his direction. He doesn't seem to be aware of my presence. I can see he's really focused on shooting, getting the ball into the basket every single time, changing his position 'till the middle of the court. He must be good. He's wearing black shorts and a black t-shirt, breaking the code of black with red sneakers.
"You look good," I say, out loud this time, and he looks at my direction. His mouth is half open and he frowns, signs that he's trying to figure out where I came from.
"I mean at what you're doing... um... shooting and stuff... you seem good..." Why can't I finish a proper sentence?
"Huh?" he keeps looking at me, but I can't tell what he is thinking.
"You know... like in basketball." I say and use my hands to show him what I mean, pretending to throw a shoot.
He immediately starts laughing. I thought that I wouldn't give him the chance to mock me again. He keeps laughing. Like genuinely laughing, not in a mean way. I like that laugh. His face seems relaxed and careless, like he has nothing to prove, nothing to hide.
"So I've heard." He rests his hands on his knees. "Have you been here long?" He's in a good mood.
"Maybe." I try to maintain the good vibes between us. He raises an eyebrow, impressed with my answer. "Isn't Saturday supposed to be a day off? Why are you here alone? Who's gonna close this place?"
"So many questions." He says rolling his eyes. He walks to the bench and grabs a bottle from his bag. It must be water or that weird colorful drink athletes drink. He drinks half of it and I can't seem to take my eyes from his neck. Gosh, I hope he didn't notice! I put my hands on my hips and keep waiting for an answer. Or answers. Maybe I asked too many questions.
"No day off for me, Miss Adams. Dean, the genitor, gave me the keys for some extra practice so I'll be the one turning the lights off. Besides, I'm not alone, you're with me."
Woah, I didn't expect him to answer everything. He sits on the bench and gestures for me to do the same. I sit next to him, giving him a little smile. I wonder how he knows my surname, I haven't told him and I can't recall Mr Theodors mentioning it our first day in class.
"What's that?" he is pointing at the marshmallows bag I have in my hands. "Are you four?" he teases me and I welcome his famous smirk back. It doesn't look as irritating as I remembered.
"So, you're saying you wouldn't want one?" I try to open the bag just to tempt him. It is closed too tight.
"If you could ever open it, I would consider it." He rests his back on the wall so he can have a clearer view. He is definitely entertained, and waits for me to make the impossible, possible.
"Ok", I say determined. As someone could predict, my three attempts don't lead me to my goal.
"Here" he takes the bag and opens it with a quick move. I guess his muscles can be useful out of court too. "You would keep trying to open this damn bag if I hadn't, right?"
"Well, that was the point."
"Like you will keep bothering me with this damn class if I don't share the paperwork?" he says, quoting the last words with his hands.
"You better bet." I say and eat a marshmallow.
"You're damn stubborn. Have you ever been said no?" he questions.
"Have you?" I say offering him my precious sugar treasure. It sounds like a truce to me after all.
He takes one and observes it really close. His long fingers examine every part of it and he finally eats it with concern.
"Hmm, not bad..." he admits and I feel like a true champion. My phone vibrates, still on silence since I haven't put it on after our conversation with Sophie earlier.
"Excuse me" I tell Nathan who has just discovered the candy lover in him. "Hey Alice." I greet her, and explain the situation briefly, "I'm fine, I got out of marshmallows so I went to get some. I'll be right there. Bye." I hang up.
"So, I'll see you in class then?" I ask Nathan, who gets up and grabs the ball.
"Maybe" he takes a shoot smiling and now I'm the one who raises an eyebrow. "Goodnight, Vanessa."
"Goodnight, Nathan." I greet him back and walk myself out of the court. Before leaving, I take a quick glimpse inside again. This was not what I had in my mind when I entered here. For once, I am happy things didn't go as I've planned them too. I smile and close the door.
Alice's POV
I came home from the mall half an hour ago, where I was with Nina and I feel exhausted. You feel the tiredness after the shopping and not when you are in the middle of it.
The room was empty...Again. Where was Vanessa? I haven't seen her since the morning...well noon to be exact when I went for jogging. I should be a masochist to go jogging after a party night, but I was full of sleep and the day was just wonderful, so why not take advantage of it?
Vanessa gave me the eye, since she despises anything that has to do with physical activity, but to me it's a way to live since martial arts require hours of training.
It proved a really good idea to jog, since I blew off some steam, especially after the last night's event with Joseph. Steve did a really good job relaxing me, but it wasn't enough.
When I got home from jogging Vanessa wasn't there, but before I even wonder where she was my phone rung and it was Nina who wanted to meet me asap. I took a really quick shower and I met her at the mall, where she started effusing over the guy she met at the frat house.
We spent many hours there and I bought some accessories and clothes. I returned home and Vanessa was nowhere to be found.I decided to call her, because I have listened to many of my dad's cases and better be safe than sorry. She said she would be here shortly.
I am sitting on my bed now, reading a new book that I bought today as well. What can I do? I can't resist to a good fantasy book. Suddenly the door unlocks and Vanessa gets in holding a bag with marshmallows.
"Hi!" She waves at me and then throws the bag in the air which thanks to my fast reflexes I catch right away.
"Hey stranger! Where have you been?" I ask looking at her sitting on her bed with legs crossed.
"Aah! It was a long day today!" She exhales. "Joseph and Sophie came to pick me up for breakfast and we kind of lost track of time."
"Seriously? Joseph ditched his fling to eat breakfast with you and Sophie?" I raise an eyebrow standing up. I said the word 'fling' with certainty, because I am sure he must have found his new victim in a party full of drunk girls. But why I have this nagging in my stomach thinking him with another girl, after the dialogue we had at the frat party?
"What fling?" Vanessa gives me a puzzled look. Oh, this girl is so innocent sometimes. "He actually did and paid for our meals too. It was so nice of him." She raves about her homie and I can't help but chime in.
"It's Joseph we're talking about. Having an one night stand it's his priority in those kind of events." I exasperate about him and I don't know why I am giving that much attention to him. He can choke himself for all that matters. "As for paying your meals, he might do decent things from time to time." I eye roll and fall back to bed with force.
"I am looking forward to the day you two will start interacting like normal people." Vanessa giggles.
"Don't hold your breath." I huff and I turn my body to look at her with my hand supporting my head.
"You never know." She breathes out. "How was your day?"
"After I returned from jogging, Nina called me to go to the mall. Actually she wanted to tell me about the guy she met at the frat party. She couldn't stop drooling over him. They spent the whole night talking and at the end they exchanged phone numbers. Not to rumble, they will go out on a date tomorrow." I sum up the long narration of Nina's version of how she met her dream guy.
"Aaw! That's wonderful!" Vanessa claps her hands. "What about you? Did you have a good time? Maybe you met a special someone as well?"
"Well I met someone!" I confess to her, raising my laying body to sit properly on the bed so I can have better eye contact.
"Really? Wow!" She sits up with excitement. "Do tell!"
"His name is Steve and he's the ΚΕΓ President. He's tall and fit and has blond hair and blue eyes..." I indeed was with a guy that handsome yesterday night.
"Sounds like Prince Charming! And?" She waves her hands in the air waiting for more info.
"Well we danced... Maybe a little bit too dirty and we kissed!" I exclaim with a wide smile. "And I have to say he is a really good kisser!"
"Aaah! What? You guys kissed?" She runs over to my bed. "And dirty danced? And KISSED? Wow! And? How did the night end?"
"He drove me home!He was a true gentleman! That's very rare to be honest." I see Vanessa's eyes widen from the excitement. "And there was some more kissing at the car as well... but only kissing." I state firmly.
Well I couldn't resist. Steve was so alluring and what's wrong with kissing someone that charming? Also I was really mad at what happened with Joseph, that I desperately needed a distraction and it worked somehow.
"Oh my God! I did miss a lot! When are you seeing him again?" Vanessa asks me with enthusiasm.
"We will go on a date tomorrow. He will come and pick me up! I have to say I really anticipate it." I tell her with a wide grin crossing my face. Steve seemed like a really interesting guy and I liked kissing me. Well it was not the kiss, where the whole world explodes, but I guess that's because I haven't known him very well yet.
"Tomorrow? What are you going to wear? We have less than 24 hours to figure it out!" She says panicked and I chuckle. Vanessa is so cute even when she starts panicking.
"Don't worry! If I have your help I am sure I will look stunning. It worked really well the first time." I wink reminding, how she helped me get ready for the party.
"There is no time to waste! Let's go!" She stands up and drags me to the closet.
Then we spent the whole night trying to find the perfect outfit and how I should make my makeup and my hair. After a lot of research and a warning that Vanessa should help me with the black circles under my eyes, we fell asleep on a pile of clothes.
