Minji's POV:

"Aish, a week? That's the minimum?!"

I let out a yawn, rolling to my side in annoyance. Who the heck is yelling this early in the morning?

Wait... who the heck is even yelling?

My eyes open within an instant, squinting slightly at the bright white lights. Suddenly my memories from yesterday come back to me.

That's right, I'm in the hospital right now.

"That's what they said. Unless you want to go against their recommendations you will have to stay here a little longer, Hyung," an unfamiliar voice says.

"What does Bang PD-Nim want me to do?" Yoongi asks.

"He just wants you to rest and get healthy," the other man says.

I try to picture the unfamiliar voice's face, staring at the curtain that separates me from Yoongi. It's rather deep yet smooth at the same time. Similar to yoongi's only softer.

"Alright, then I guess I'll stay here a bit longer," Yoongi sighs.

"But, Hyung, Do you want me to request that you get a new room? A single?"

"No, it's okay, Namjoon. I'm curious about my roommate," Yoongi sighs.

So his name his Namjoon?

"Why's that? You never want to interact with people?" He laughs.

"Because they lied to her,"

Lied to me? About what? Anxiety begins to prick at the bottom of my stomach.  I lean foreword slightly, afraid I'll miss what he has to say.

But at the same time I don't want to hear

"They told her she fainted after an exam, and that her friend brought her in, "Yoongi starts, "but when she came in, she was soaking wet. They said she jumped off the Han River Bridge,"

"What? So she tried to commit suicide?" Namjoon gasps.

My entire body becomes frozen with pins and needles covering every inch of my skin. Almost like my blood has run cold.

"Yes. But after talking with her last night she didn't even remember any of this. So she blindly believed in their lie. They also didn't tell her that her parents came to visit. They paid for everything and even gave their card information for future expenses, but told the nurses they wouldn't be coming back," Yoongi explains further.

My eyebrows furrow while I stare at the curtain, completely perplexed. I scan my brain for any sort of information but come back with nothing every time. The only part I can remember is seating my exam, after that it's all blank.

"So are you saying she's an orphan now?" Namjoon asks.

My hand reaches for my phone, dialing my mother's number. When I raise it up to my ear a chilling beep echoes in the other end. I try my father, the same thing happening. It won't even ring more than once.

I resort to texting them, but the messages refuse to deliver.

"No. She's eighteen," Yoongi replies.

"Hyung, I think you should switch rooms,"

"Why?"

"Something strange is going on. You shouldn't get involved," Namjoon seems extremely worried.

I hesitantly get up, stopping when I feel a tug on my IV. Without thinking I remove it, pain shooting up through my arm.

A frown placed itself fittingly on my face. If I let pain does that mean that this isn't a dream? Does that mean that this is reality?

I place my bare feet on the cool tile and shove the curtain aside. Namjoon's eyes widen while Yoongi looks unfazed.

At that very moment a nurse walks in, surprised to see me up and out of bed.

"Minji-ssi! Please sit down," she tells me.

"Why? So that you can lie to me some more?" I raise my eyebrows.

I'm so utterly confused that I don't have time to cry or ask question about where my parents are. I just want to get out of here.

"We haven't lied to you? You must be in shock," She smiles guiltily.

"I'd like to be discharged," I say.

"I can't do that," she shakes her head.

"Why not? I'm 18. I want to go home,"

"You can't go home,"

"Why? Because my parents abandoned me in this very room and you didn't do anything to stop them?!" I scream, Namjoon slowly moving out of the way.

"Hyung, you shouldn't have told me all of this here," he whispers to Yoongi.

"No. I wanted her to hear," he replies, staring at me.

I look at him in the eyes. Drawing my lips in tightly to hold back the flood of anger and sadness that wants so badly to escape.

"You've got it wrong," I tell him, "I would never take my own life,"

"Then why'd you jump?" He looks even deeper into my eyes, searching for answers.

"I didn't. Even if I did, why do you care?" I growl unintentionally.

"Because I want to help," he says.

His words are filled with such sincerity that it makes me even more angry. It feels as if he pities me for jumping off a bridge, being abandoned, and being lied to all in the same night.

Those are all things that should never happen to anyone but it's happened to me. My life has been turned upside down all within one night that I can't even remember.

"I'm leaving," I demand, "There is no way I jumped-"

My hand stops in midair, holding my backpack within shaky fingertips. Water drips onto the ground creating a puddle. I stare at my reflection, not recognizing it in the least. Who am I?

"Minji-ssi, yes, we lied to you. We had to," The nurse starts to approach me, "you didn't jump. You were pushed. You're parents didn't want you to be scared, but they had to leave to keep you safe. Please don't misunderstand,"

Sudden glitches appear at the corners of my vision. I try to wipe them away with my hands but they follow me even when I close my eyes.

"A mistake has been made,"

A low voice echoes in what feels like somewhere far beyond from here. I blink rapidly, resting my hand on the side of Yoongi's bed.

"Minji-ssi? Are you okay?" The nurse tries to support me.

"I think I'm going crazy," I whimper.

She sits me back down in my bed, telling my some things before leaving the room for some help.

Whatever is going on here I need to escape from it.

"Minji-ssi," Yoongi looks at me with the same pitiful look from before.

"You should've just let me believe in their empty lies. If you knew that I might have even an ounce of regret from hearing the truth, you should've let me be. You don't even know who I am. So keep your curiosity to yourself," I narrow my eyes at him.

He laughs a little.

"Am I entertaining to you?" I scoff.

"No. Just absentminded," his face turns serious.

"Hyung," Namjoon shoves Yoongi which causes him to break out into a fit of coughs.

"Mind your own business," Namjoon says before leaving the room without an apology.

"You'll thank me later," Yoongi chokes out.

I ignore him, focusing so much on anger to keep myself from falling into sadness.

"It would have been much harder when your false hope was snatched out from beneath you," He sighs.
