What is inner peace?

A feeling you wish would never cease

May sound like a joke and you won't believe

That you'd rather be alone than to be broken into a thousand more than one piece

That you'd rather drown in depression

Than suffer rejection

That you'd rather stay away from love

Than be dumped like used glove

So you drop the license

And find peace with the silence

For some people that's inner peace at its peak

Knowing that no matter what you ain't ever getting lovesick

Knowing you ain't lettin' your walls down to realize it was all a trick

Knowing that you get drunk because you're at rest and not because of what you think

But such is life, proving everyday that you're just a shrink

I'd say happiness is a choice but it's prone to influencing

Like one moment you're happy, the next you're struggling to hide what you're feeling

Dunno if you can relate but this almost isn't living

It's just breathing

Those who survive become one with the sadness

Even fall in love with its hardness

But what's the point of  having a conscience

If you don't care that you're driving someone insane

Inner peace isn't just gotten

It is derived from the pains you've survived.
