Kanan POV

I remember seeing the girl  appear in front of me and everything faded to black. Only it didn't stay that way. I found myself in a dream that I have been having since Ezra came on board. 

Dream as Kanan is seeing it.

There was people aboard a ship and in the back was a young man hunched over in a trench coat, whispering to something. Upon closer inspection it appeared to be a baby only three months old. 

"Son, please stop crying. They're going to kick us off," the man whispered trying to soothe the infant. 

Then he looked up slightly his features still distorted. Some of the other passengers were giving him death glares. He smiled sheepishly before going back to the child in his lap. 

"I know you're hurting, Buddy. So am I. I'm trying, I really am," he whispered bundling the baby closer to him. 

'Wait I've never heard him speak before,' I thought to myself. 

I have lived through this dream a thousand times but he has never spoken before. I went to place a hand on the young man's shoulder only for it to pass through and the scene change. The young man was now going through a terminal looking slightly afraid. I turned to see storm troopers eying him closely and I found myself following the young man. This is so weird what is going on? I followed him to a busy market place and watched as they ducked into an alley way. 

"No matter where we go, they recognize me," he said looking down at the baby.

The child was sucking on his fist staring up at him.  I still couldn't see their faces. 

"The only way to save you, Baby," he said caressing the small face. "I'm gonna have to leave  you here."

I couldn't believe it. Suddenly a young woman walked past him. He quickly ran up to her and shoved the child into her arms. The child cried out in fright but the young man kissed his head and waved a hand in front of her face. I blinked and he was gone but the force said to turn around. Doing as told I saw him looking back and then he disappeared. 

End of the dream.

I came back to consciousness feeling something soft underneath me. 

'Funny my bed isn't usually this comfortable,' I thought to himself. 

I stretched out into the force to see where Ezra was. Only what I found was Ezra's signature radiating fear and sadness. 

"Kanan?" He whispered like he didn't believe what he was seeing.

"Ezra," I said smiling up at him.

The boy just threw himself into my chest crying.

"Shh...just breathe kid, I'm here," I soothed running a hand through his hair. "I know you're scared and I promise I'm not going anywhere."

NPOV

The others in the room smiled and Bulma quickly ushered them out.

"That is so sweet," Reany said wiping at her eyes.

Goku wrapped his arms around the two and pulled them in for a hug.In the other room Kanan continued to rub the teen's back as he hung onto him.

"Care to tell me what happened?" He asked.

"After you were knocked out, the kids and their dad brought us here," Ezra said snuggling into the comforting presence.

"An what have you learned about these people?" Kanan asked ruffling the boy's hair. 

"They're nothing like the Empire," Ezra said.

Kanan POV

I was relieved to hear that as I held Ezra tighter to me.

"They want to check me out and make sure nothing is wrong with me," he said softly.

"I'm guessing then we are in some form of med bay," I said looking around.

"Yeah and get this, the two kids we met are my age and have really cool lightsabers and a training room!"

"I take it you like it here," I chuckled.

"So far," he said sitting up.

It made me feel better knowing I had made the right choice but the dream had left me wondering. Was there something I had forgotten?

Several days later.

NPOV

Kanan chuckled as Ezra told him about the things going on while he had been stuck in bed.

"So then this one demon tried to attack Reany but the minute it went for her staff it disintegrated," Ezra laughed.

"Well I'm glad you're getting some exercise," Kanan said smiling.

"Yup, Bulma said that you should be able to get up and move around tomorrow," Ezra said.

"I hope so because I think she is scarier than Hera," he chuckled.

"Especially when Vegeta blows something up."

"So that's the bangs I keep hearing," Kanan laughed.

Goku chose that moment to walk in and saw the two laughing about something.

"Now this is a good sound," he said.

"Hi Goku," Kanan greeted.

"Hello Kanan; Ezra, Reany said that if you wanted to join them, they are about to go into the simulator," Goku told the teen.

"Thanks Goku, bye Kanan!" He called hopping off the bed and ran out the door. 

The man shook his head as Ezra ran out of the room to meet his friends.

"I'm not sure when I've seen that boy so happy."

"I take you guys didn't get a lot of human interaction from your world," Goku said sitting in the chair beside the bed.

"Well sort of, it's just with the Empire you never know who's friend or foe," Kanan sighed.

"Sounds like a great life," Goku chuckled.

"Yeah if you count being hunted just because you're different," Kanan joked.

"I can't imagine having to raise my kids like that," Goku said.

"So is it just you?" Kanan asked.

Goku nodded before his face took one annoyance.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to pry," Kanan apologized seeing the reaction.

"Oh no it's not that, it's just my Ex-wife. After the twins started showing signs of their powers I started to train them so they could control them. Chichi on the other hand didn't take it very well. She left me when they were six taking the twins with her. About a week later Gohan and Reany showed back up, terrified. Apparently they had been having nightmares and couldn't understand exactly what was happening to them. So I did the only thing I could. I took them to Bulma to see if she could help them. Then I called Chichi and she said that she didn't want anything to do with them anymore. Apparently Reany had gotten angry and the chair and the expensive rug it was on burst into flames. Not that Ren could have helped it," Goku said almost chuckling.

Kanan couldn't believe it. A mother that didn't want her children just because they were different. Then the thoughts of his dream came back.

"Say Goku, is Bulma a psychologist by chance?"

"Yeah, why?" He asked intrigued.

"Because I have been having the same dream since I met Ezra and I want to know if they are connected. 

"Well if you want me to do a Psych test, you'll have to wait until I'm done with your physical," Bulma said coming in. 

"Is there anything you can't do?" Kanan asked. 

She took on a look of concentration. 

"Mmmm teleport," she answered after a moment. 

Kanan laughed and allowed the woman to get to work. After twenty minutes she was finally done.

"Well the good news is Kanan you can get up anytime.Bad news, you're gonna have to take it easy," she said putting everything away before turning back to him. "Now, what exactly is going on that you would like to talk about?"

Kanan sighed and decided to start from the beginning.

Kanan POV

"There's this dream. I can see a young man on a passenger ship and his infant son bundled up in his coat. I have lived this dream at least a thousand times and never once have I heard him speak. Usually it would end with him turning back watching the young woman walking away with his baby. I'm guessing when Reany knocked me out she must have done something to change the dream," I said looking at the woman. 

"Wait did she use her Solar Silence on you?" Goku asked. 

"I think so," I said. 

"So that's what happens," he whispered. "Always wondered what would happen if she used it on humans." 

"What?" I asked. 

"Reany has this power that if she focuses enough she can heal you. Whenever she knocked you out, she must have subconsciously transferred some of her energy to you and repaired a memory, not a dream," he said looking at Bulma. 

Bulma looked at me seeming to mull over everything.

"I think he's right," she said crossing her arms.

"How could?" I started to say before the fog seemed to lift and the force hummed with excitement.

"Bulma, I'm gonna need a DNA scan. Mine against Ezra's."

They gave me a shocked expression.

"I think Ezra's the baby and I'm the one giving him to the woman."
