Chapter 3
After what seemed like the upteenth time of waking up, Naruto seemed resigned to his fate.
Izuna came back in to see Naruto staring blankly at the wall and flinched. To him, this man seemed like the happy-go-lucky kind of guy but his blank stare doesn't seem right on him. "Come on. I'll take you to get something to eat."
Naruto stood up and stretched with a sigh, before following Izuna out the door and down the hallway. "Where are we and where are we going?" The blonde asked as the turned a corner.
Izuna shot the blonde a small smirk. "We are in my house and heading to the kitchen for some food."
Naruto paled a little, dizziness sweeping through him as he leaned against a wall for support. "You're...house?"
"Yes." Izuna stopped and turned to the blonde. "Is there a problem with that?"
Naruto gulped slightly, shaking his head before regretting the action as a stab of pain pierced his skull. He grunted, bringing a hand to his forehead.
"Are you well enough to walk or do you want me to carry you?" Izuna moved closer.
"I'm fine." He muttered, moving forward.
Izuna eyed him for another moment before shrugging and continuing down the hall. Once they reached the kitchen, Naruto lost himself to his thoughts and only broke out of them once Izuna put a plate of food in front of him.
Naruto slowly took a bite before realizing that he was starving and wolfed down the plate not noticing when it was switched out with plate after plate after plate until he was finished. Izuna looked amused. "Glad to know someone finally likes my cooking."
Naruto looked at the stack of empty, dirty plates before turning back to the Uchiha. "Oops."
Madara entered the room silently to observe. Izuna's eyes flicked to him but didn't say anything as they turned back to the blonde.
"It's fine. My brother doesn't like my cooking and not much anyone else does either." Izuna smiled faintly.
Naruto scratched the back of his neck. "Well I was so hungry that I didn't notice the taste." Suddenly he felt like he was being watched and tensed. He subtly scanned the room with what little chakra he had and found the familiar chakra signature of one Madara Uchiha. "Uchiha-san." His lip trembled slightly and Izuna's sharp eyes caught it.
"How are you feeling?" Madara asked, moving to finally stand beside his brother.
"I am ready to leave if that is what you mean." Naruto replied, his blank face coming back.
'Curious...' Both Uchihas thought. "You will be leaving in a week if you would like. You are still not healed and would most likely get yourself killed." Madara answered, trying to weasel the blonde into staying longer. He had some more questions to ask and the blonde seemed in a hurry to leave.
Plus it was true that Naruto was still hurt.
"Izuna can show you to the baths. After that you are free to walk around the compound." Madara grabbed a tomato and walked out before Naruto discreetly sniffed himself and crinkled his nose.
Yeah. With the war going on, no one had time for a shower.
Izuna rolled his eyes at his brother's back before dragging Naruto by the arm. "Come on!" The Uchiha lead Naruto to the door across from his temporary bedroom and showed him in. "Towels are there," He pointed to a cupboard before pointing to another cupboard. "Shampoos and soaps are right there. Don't drown or we will come in after you." With that he left the room shutting the door behind him.
