First of all, some useful information. That sugary, brown, flavoured water trash that you get at the store... that is not Maple syrup, and tastes nothing like the real stuff. It's garbage.( remember this is all in my opinion, but if you have ever had the REAL stuff then let me know) my family makes our own. We Collect the sap after taping the trees, then we spend the next 12-15 or more hours boiling it down to the amber coloured, delicious, liquid gold that makes your taste buds dance and goes great with almost anything. I know that not everyone can do that but if you go to a farmers market, chances are you will find some form of the homemade stuff. And if you get a chance to go to a maple festival, then go!
