Sitting in front of the person that had left them wasn't exactly the ideal situation that they were aiming for as a reunion, yet here they are. Not knowing what to think and to feel about the situation, they silently sat with their emotions all over the place.
They wanted to be furious at him, demand an answer as to why he would do such a cruel thing to them after all that they had gone through. Lash their anger at him, blaming him for all the things that he did. Give him a good punch even though they know that they wouldn't be able to do that to him.
Yet, even with the seething heat of anger. There is an undeniable sadness lingering within as they reminisce the memories that they have spent, both in the past and the present. It made felt as if they have been played around, dragged into his plans, and be forgotten who they once were in his life.
But, they also wanted to rejoice in knowing that he's alive, that the person that they have fallen in love with is here and has always been there. They want to jump around, pull him in a hug and maybe get to finally kiss him to show how much they love him. Showering him with love and affection, something that they had not done as much.
They couldn't show off what they truly feel at the moment, the tears that had escaped from their eyes down to their cheeks are unknown whether it be from sadness, anger, or happiness. It breaks Taehyung's heart to see them like this.
"I... You were right." His whisper broke the silence between them. "I chose to forget. You're right." He casts his gaze down on the ground, shamefully basking in the hatred and horrible memories that haunt him to this day.
Jimin opened his mouth as if wanting to tell so many things yet he could only utter the question, "Why?" His voice broke, painfully trying to stop himself from breaking down in front of them and him.
Taehyung took a deep breath, "It was... When..." He pushed his hand to his face, unable to find the right words to start his explanation. There was too much yet too little that he wanted to say, it was strangling him to tell them, to finally let them have what they truly deserve.
"Don't push yourself..." He lifted his eyes, staring back at Namjoon who fondly gave him a smile, comforting him. "Take your time to explain, we'll be here."
We'll be here, waiting for you even of how long it may take. It was an unspoken line that only them could understand, that only they could feel. He closed his eyes and let his own tears fall. "I wanted to change from the 'V' that everyone knew of." He started, "When I revealed myself to all of you, I was hesitant. I didn't want anyone to remember that I exist, that these hands killed several people including my friends and my... my father." Taehyung couldn't look at them as he stares down at his lap.
"I wanted to change so bad that the only solution at that time was... to forget and by wanting to forget... I..." The tears blurred his vision, "The guilt and regret after what I had done was too much to handle and... I thought that if I somehow traumatize myself enough... I would be able to forget somehow... It did, it did work and I could only remember glimpses and it hurts my head whenever I try to remember but I couldn't keep running away." Seokjin stood up from his seat, kneeling in front of Taehyung, and took his hands to hold them in his.
He shook his head, "I never planned to kill myself at that time."
"Can I, can I ask a question?" Taehyung nodded, " I know this may be insensitive but what if you..." didn't make it?
Taehyung continued the question, "If I didn't make it?" A bitter smile played on his lips, "When I stood on that platform, I thought that dying would be a much easier escape too. So, I took the chance. It was between those two and I choose both, I didn't care because I don't deserve to live after all that... that I had done."
"Taehyung, no..."
"Taehyung, yes." He laughed although there is nothing funny about the situation, "I'm sorry." Heaving a sigh, playing with Seokjin's fingers instead of looking at their faces, knowing that they probably pity him.
"Sometimes, I wonder if my father would be furious at me or would he be disappointed that he has a son like this." Taehyung raised his hand to wipe the tears off of his face but before he could, a hand gently removed them. He made eye contact with Yoongi. "My mother made me realize that he would have done anything just to make me live even when he... even if he's dying... Then I received a letter, he knew. He knew that he might die that day... He knew and he... and he..."
Taehyung bursts into tears, clenching Seokjin's hands tightly into his. "He forgave me when I couldn't even do that to myself. He... He..." A pair of hands pulled him towards them, hugging him to their chest as they rub circles in their back.
"You're such a strong person for that, Tae-tiger." He sunk down on the warmth, pitifully crying as the ugly memories came back to him full force. Yet, the hands surrounding him grounded him, the voices soothing him, and the warmth that enveloped him.
They let him cry all of his emotions that he had bottled up for years, let him talk about his problems that had securely hidden away, they comforted him and it made him feel safe. They were the only people that could only understand each other,
"I don't deserve any of-" Namjoon shushed him, placing a tentative hand in his cheeks.
"No, love. Don't ever think that you don't deserve us. We might have started off badly when we met you this time-"
"Treated him like crap-" Jimin added.
Jungkook perked up, "Accuse him of other mafia's doings-"
"Made him feel like shit-"
"Okay, we get it!" Seokjin threw his hands up, "I think the both of you are doing this on purpose now." Jungkook and Jimin shared a glance, signaling through a smirk with each other.
"Well-"
"I dare you to finish that sentence, Jeon Jungkook, I will end you." Seokjin narrowed his gaze, "I dare you."
"Uh-oh. He said your full name." Jimin teased, waving a finger at Jungkook. "I'll prepare your funeral!"
Namjoon could only look over them with disappointment, "Why do I put up with these kids." He shakes his head, running his palm down to his face due to, probably, stress.
"No one is dying here!" Hoseok flailed his arms, jumping in between them. As he was about to make be trampled by Seokjin, a burst of heartfelt laughter filled the room which they could only look at the source. Taehyung sat there, his eyes are still swollen from crying and his cheeks are slightly puffed up but his boxy smile was in place. Bright and filled with happiness.
"I seriously love you guys." He blurted out without thinking twice, suddenly paling at the realization of what he had just said. "I-" They are all frozen on their seat, thinking if what he meant is romantically or platonically/
"Tae..." He smiled at them instead, leaning towards Yoongi who had sat beside him earlier, "In what way...?"
"I think all of you already know the answer to that." His smile morphed into a frown, "Unless I'm reading this all wrong and..."
"We already discussed this." Seokjin laughed, "Although, Namjoon and I can only go as far as loving you romantically. To the others, we only see them platonically."
"I kind of agree with it. It's weird thinking of being in a relationship with them since they literally treat us like their child." Jimin shudders, "But, you are different. We all think of you romantically."
"Polymary relationship is complicated as fuck." Seokjin shot Yoongi a glare to tone down his language. "Come on, hyung. It's not even that harsh!" Taehyung giggled as Yoongi shrinks down under the glare.
"You better not be laughing, Kim Taehyung." Yoongi narrowed his eyes.
"Oh no, they're fighting! Quick, hold hands together." They all questionably turned to Hoseok. "What? He confessed that to stop arguing, you must hold hands."
"I didn't say that!" Taehyung smiled as Hoseok defends himself while Yoongi actively also defends and attacked. He let out a breath, who would have knownthat by confessing, he would get a positive response? He would have done so long ago.
"What do you think about it?" Namjoon questioned. "About being in a poly with us?"
"I'm still a bit confused about the idea. Does that mean that the others can still fall in love with each other, excluding both you and hyung?" He asked, the idea still complicating him. He's fairly new to that kind of relationship but he's not necessarily against it. He could even go as far as saying that he is open to that topic and is willing to try it out.
"It's possible, it depends on them. They can proceed with loving someone romantically or platonically. By now, we all agree that you're the only one that we love romantically."
"I got that much. Does anyone want to confess? So that we can also get that out of the way." Silence fell over them, "Oh? None? Jimin, Yoongi?" Yoongi narrowed his eyes towards Hoseok, making a slicing motion on his neck.
Jungkook snickered, leaning over to whisper to Taehyung, "Hyung is totally head over heels over Jimin but he won't admit it."
"But isn't Hope-hyung crushing on him?" Both of them gathered their eyes towards the three unsuspecting victims of the gossip. "I think... they can solve it themselves." Taehyung slowly inches his hands towards Jungkook, holding out his hand. Jungkook looked down, smiling then intertwining them together.
