several boxes of tissues and bowls of comfort soup later, two sisters now lay in bed. one was fast asleep, her eyes puffy and red from crying for the past several hours, but the other lay awake as they stared at the ceiling. it was surprising, frankly, that they weren't passed out as well after comforting their sister while also throwing a hissy fit of their own over the course of the past few hours. since usually whenever Mackey exerted a lot of energy doing anything - even if it was just arguing - she'd be out for the night. and yet, here he was, wide awake.

part of it was definitely they could feel the anxiety in their stomach twisting and turning. after the argument died down they shut off their notifications but now as they lie awake...the itching anxiety to just take a peak to see what was going on - if anything - was alarmingly strong. he wasn't even sure what he expected to see but it was eating him up. the overprotective part of him wanted to get back in there and just demand answers from Cisco, because what on earth was that? they groaned, slipping their hands on the underside of their pillow and squishing their face with either side. 

at the moment, Mackey's choices were:

A. keep trying to sleep.

B. talk in the group chat again.

or C. talk to someone from the group chat but not in the group chat.

letting their pillow fall back to its normal shape, Mackey begrudgingly rolled over and grabbed their phone off of their bedside table.

his eyes grazed over the short list, the light of the screen reflecting in his irises as he contested his possibilities. Hayden would probably just annoy her further or just not take her seriously, Aaerie...sleeping, as for Kahlia the two didn't really know each other so...
