A 10 year old Nia came to Avni and asked

"Momma who's this?" pointing to the guy in this picture

"Where did you get this picture?" asked Avni?

"I found it under your bed" said Nia micheviously.

"Nia..." she warned

"Momma please! Tell me who is in this picture?"

"In this picture, it is the man who taught me the value of love and meaning of love! He taught me  everything I knew about love"

"What's love?"

"Love my child is a beautiful feeling. It is a feeling that is capable of making you happy and yet hurt. It is a feeling that no can even understand. Not even me"

"Momma how can a feeling hurt you and make you happy?"

Avni chuckled at her cute face

"I'll tell you a story. It started around 15 years ago"

Flashback

It was the year of 2004, and 23 year old Avni was living at a house with her mother Neela and her younger brother Aman and sister Mishti. Mishti was adopted by Neela after her mother Juhi gave her up. Ashish died in a car accident and Dayawanti hates Avni and Mishti because of ashish. She thinks that they caused his death as Avni was a illegitimate and Mishti was adopted. Because of this, Avni always remains bitter.

It was morning at the Mehta clan, where Neela was cooking while dvm kept rebuking her.

"Neela bahu doesn't even know how to cook western food. I always dreamt of eating them when I get her but alas bahu doesn't even know how to cook "

"If you really want to eat, then learn yourself"

"Bahu!"

"I'll be your bahu! when Mishti is your granddaughter!"

"Stop it! Everyday you guys fight! We can never have a day normal in this house" screamed Avni

She stormed out of the house cursing words and saw her bestie Suneheri who tried to console her.

As they were at the coffee shop, SUneheri saw someone

"Omg Avu! He's so hot!" she said pointing to a guy who was hearing Headphones that said DD

"Stop SUneheri! You always think about boys! What happens when they will leave you ? Hmm? Then what will you do?"
"I'll do another marriage.. what else will I do?'
"God!"

Later at work, she met her other best friend.

"Woh sorry Avni, I was a little late"

"You always are Tillu!"

"Avu!!! Is that necessary to call me that ?"

"Yes!!!! Mood kharab ho gaya subah se and this is the only happiness I get"

"For your happiness anything" he whispered.

Here Neil loves Avni but he didn't know how to confess

A few days later, Avni came home to see a weird situation. Her family was laughing with neighbours and there was this one person who she saw the back of.  He had curly hair and a  radiant smile

"Avni beta. You know our neighbours Harishji! This is his sister in law and nephew"

The guy turned around and saw her. He saw her a few days ago

"Her!"

"I'm AlI!"

"And i'm not interested!"

A few days passed by and Ali would welcome the family with his radiant smile and his heart. He was an angel that was sent down to earth to help this family. Because of him, Neela would start smiling and Aman and Mishti would start playing happily. Ali tried to include Mishti with playing with him but would get rebuked by his dadi leaving Mishti to be alone. However with Ali's magic, he was able to play with his little sister and enjoy it. Mishti for the first time would start laughing and started smiling wholeheartedly.

Ali also tried to work his magic on Avni but it didn't work.

One day after a fiasco at dinner, everyone was laughing  but Avni. Neil apparently was sent to the wrong house and had to deal with SUneheri and her elder sister Ragini who was Neela's bestie.

"Oh god please help me" as Neil ran away.
"Areh Neil! Where r u going?" asked Ragini
Ali and Avni witnessed this and started laughing while she was fuming

"You think this is funny"

"Of course, a normal person would feel this way but again you are not normal"

"Matlab"

"Miss Avni mehta, you think no one loves you but they do. You are holding onto the past which is preventing you to enjoy the present and the future. Jiyo khush raho muskrao cya pata kal ho na ho"

She listened to this advice and realized she hadn't smile in a few years. She felt so overwhelmed and all

Meanwhile, Ali and neil met and were becoming bromance. They were enjoying each other's company and Ali could see the love that Neil had.

In the course of the next two months, Avni started to fall in love with Ali. Ali made her smile with his presence and he made her happy. He taught her how love is a beautiful feeling and the feeling of family love and intimate love. He fixed her family as one day Mishti ran to him, seeing her grandma and mother fight. It turned out that Mishti was the daughter of Juhi and Ashish as Ashish had raped Juhi who was a strip club member when he was drunk, making Juhi ashamed and she left Mishti to Neela. Neela decided to take Mishti in and this guilt killed Ashish who eventually died in a car accident.

One day

"Neil, you must profess your love to her"

"What if she says no?"

"She won't. Trust me"

He then invited Avni for lunch and was about to propose when Avni said the unexpected

'I'm in love with Ali"

"Ali" said Neil heartbroken

"Yes! He taught me to smile and look life at a different prospect. He taught that life is short and how the feeling of love is so beautiful"

"Then what are you doing here pagli? Go profess your love" he said over a fake smile

She then went to Ali's house who kind of welcomed her.

"Avni! I wasn't expecting you here!"

"Woh sorry, should I leave?

"No you can stay I guess"

Avni then noticed a picture on the wall, there was a girl who was hugging Ali while he smiled

"Whose's she?"

"My wife"

Avni smile then dropped.

"Wife?"

"Yeah, I came to chase her down cause she was mad at me"

"Oh ok, anyway I have to leave"

"Ok"

Later that night, nanno approached Ali

"Moi bacha! Why did you do that?"

"Nanno please!"

"You love her"

"Nanno, I have been running away from this heart for a long time and when finally this heart met someone, I cannot go run away. I want to stay with her but we all know that I don't have much time."

"Nah bacha, I know you will love. Rhea said so naa"

Ali shook his head and smiled.

Later days, Ali convinced Neil to marry Avni and propose to her. After being rejected by Aman, Avni decided to marry Neil who would love her wholeheartedly. Neil was so thankful for Ali and it was Ali's trust that pushed Neil into going after her and proposing to her.

Later on, the wedding preparations started full on and Ali celebrated the most. Though it hurt to see his love being married, he knew that it was the correct decision. He kept smiling wholeheartedly though his heart kept paining.

Then one day, there was the sangeet, when Ali fell unconscious on the floor. He was then rushed to the hospital where the whole family was getting worried.

Then the doctor came out

"Rhea?" Avni asked.

"Ji"

"you are his doctor?"

"I was always his doctor. You must be Avni"

"But you must be strong, handling your husband in the hospital"

"Husband? Ali's my friend and patient and that's it. He's nothing more than a patient and I'm already engaged"

"Kya?"

Rhea then went to the whole family

"Ali is gonna have to take it easy. He just had another narrow road to death. We have to be careful"

She then told the family how Ali was suffering from a heart condition and he only had few days to live.

Avni sunk down to the floor and cried. She cried how her life was played out while Neil also hugged her consoling themselves.

The next day, the whole family headed to the hospital to see Ali.

Ali: I want to see you guys married before I die

Neil: Bro I just want to kill you! I really do!

Avni: Neil is right

Ali: Kill me later but please let me see you get married.

The next day they got married and three days after that, they went to say their final goodbyes to Ali.

Ali to Mishti: Will you marry me?

Mishti nodding her head: Nope

to Neela: Hey sexy! Always smile ok

Neela: Badmaash

to DVM: Oh hot girl! Please keep my chacha happy

He then winked at his chacha while DVM glared.

To Aman: Hey Bro, I want to see you play basketball live. Promise, that you will do

Aman nodded

To SUneheri: Please do marry DD and tell me what does yo yo mean? Cuz he always says that

Suneheri chuckled.

Ali to Avni and Neil: Hey Mr. Tillu! Make you keep Avni happy or I am going to haunt you. She's very precious and I don't want to see her tears and Avu, please beat him daily, I love to see that

Neil: Bro! She always does that

Ali: And she will continue to do that

Avni: I'm mad at you Ali!

Ali: Please don't. Just remember, Jiyo khush rao, muskrao

With that he passed away

Avni whispered: Cuz kya pata kal ho na ho.

Present

Avni: He taught me the meaning and feeling of love. I always loved him and I will do so but as a friend.

Avni started crying when she felt a hand wipe her tears.

"Nia, you made your mom cry again?"

"No I didn't papa"

"Anyway, let's head inside, I made some cookies for you"

"Yay!" said Nia as she rushed inside.

Neil then grabbed Avni by the waist and started to whisper

" I probably don't say this often but I love you"

With that she blushed while Neil gave her a kiss on the cheek.
