Aiden and Rune rushed inside to see what had happened but they got confused as no one was there at the dining table. Soon they started searching for others when they heard her shout again.

They followed the voice which lead them to the upstairs. It was all dark with only two candles on either side of the hallway. They were not giving out that much of a light but it was enough to light up their path. They followed the voice further and reached in front of a room. Everyone came behind them, running from a different room on either side on the hallway.

Opening the room's door, they entered into the bathroom and to their surprise found Janet in the corner, curling up. She seems to be so frightened that she was all sweaty and was crying burying her head in her hands.

"Janet! What happened?" Ivy asked as everyone ran towards her and sat in front. She was not making eye contact and was shaking. Rune reached out for her and lifted her face. Moving hairs from her face, Rune asked, "What happened, Janet? Are you okay?"

Janet pointed towards the mirror in the bathroom with her still shaking hand. "Th...there...it..."

"What, Janet?" Jan asked.

"There...there was something...I saw it behind me" she started weeping, burying her face in Rune's shoulder as she hugged her and patted her back to comfort her.

"Nothing is here" Dylen excluded as he inspected the mirror.

"Something was there. I saw it. I swear there was something" She tried hard to make them believe that there was something.

"Okay, okay, I believe you. Now come, let's go. You can't be here in the bathroom for the whole time" Aiden signed Rune to help her to get up.

They let Janet lay on the bed to take some rest. "Guys, can we talk?" Rune said signalling them to come out of the room.

"Callan you be here with her. We can't leave her alone. Okay?" Callan nodded and sat at the corner of the bed as everyone went out of the room.

"Can anyone explain, what's going on? Why are you here in this room and where were you leaving her alone?" Rune questioned them as she started to march in front of the room.

"Abigail told we can use the rooms to stay. As there are two beds in there, we decided that four will sleep in this room and others will in another room" Jan explained.

"Okay, but where were you? Why you left her alone? It's so creepy in here. We have to be together. God only knows how she is living here" Rune sighed out of frustration.

"Janet told she has to use the bathroom so we thought to look at other rooms to decide in which others will stay" Ivy explained.

"Hmm...guys No need for other rooms. We can't live here for long. We have to look after other places to stay" Rune said.

"What you mean by, no other rooms?" Dylen got confused after listening to Rune.

"Let's share this room. We don't know what could happen here" Rune folded her arms.

"What? Single room? No, no, I'm not living in a single room!" Jan exclaimed.

"Try to understand. This place is weird, anything can appear in front anytime. Do you want to die? A wild animal or a ghost, anything."  Rune emphasised on ghost which made them to think.

"Okay, I'm fine with it," Ariadne said later Dylen and Ivy Join in. They had no way than to agree with Rune. After what happened to Janet a while ago, they never know what was in store for them in there.

"Jan? What you think?" Dylen asked.

"Ugh! Okay, fine I'm ready to share a single room" She flipped her hairs just like a typical queen bee of school.

"Aiden?" Rune raised an eyebrow.

"I'm always there with you, Rune" he gave her a playful wink.

"Ah! Then let's go in and decided who will sleep where. I think Janet is okay now" Rune entered the room along with the others.

"Callan, we are sharing a single room, do you have a problem?" Rune asked to be sure.

"Nope, I'm all good. It will be nice to share a room with you all. It's like a pyjama party. Yaaa!!" He jumped in excitement.

"Hehehe! Yeah!" His actions made Run chuckle a little .

Janet was feeling well now. She was just lying in bed. As the beds were very big, they decided to sleep three on each. Dylen got a place on cabriole in front of one of the bed and Aiden said he will sleep on the window seat as he will fit there.

Rune, Aiden, Calan and Ariadne fell asleep. Whereas Janet was awake writing her diary entry. Ivy, Jan and Dylen went down the stairs to get water as the water gallon was empty.

Janet sat cross-legged on the bed with the pillow on her lap. She sighed and started writing:

After writing the diary entry she went to sleep. This was a thing she does daily as that's the only way she can let out her thoughts and inner sadness. It was a diary given by her dad. It was a very special to her. Everything that happens with her and Ivy, she writes it down in the diary thinking that the diary will send that message to her parents.

Meanwhile down the stairs, Ivy, Dylen and Jan filled the water gallon form the jug kept on the dining table. It was difficult for them to find kitchen in dark.  Jan asked Ivy to take the gallon up as she has something to talk about with Dylen. When Ivy went up, Jan sat on the stairs and patted the place beside her beckoning Dylen to sit.

"Dylen..."

"Yes?"

"What did I do that Ron broke up with me?" She looked away in the distance.

"How should I answer that? I mean I'm not him" he shrugged.

"Yeah, you are not him but you are a boy, so you can tell me what's the reason," She turned around to look at him.

"I really don't know, Jan. He is a jerk to leave such a nice and beautiful girl like you"

"Do you think I'm pretty?" She asked, frowning.

"Yep, you the most beautiful girl I have ever seen" He smiled.

"Really? Then he was really a jerk to leave me ?" she hugged Dylen.

"Um... I.. Jan...what you doing ?" her sudden action made his words to come out like he was babbling.

"I'm hugging you, dumbo! You are the best. You are my true friend who knows me very well" she made her grip tighter around him.

"Hell yes, I know you very well, Jan. After all, we are Bff" he smiled, hugging her back tightly.

"Okay, tell me one thing" she moved away untangling her hands from Dylen's neck.

"Yes, ask"

"Do you think, love really does exist? True love like what they show in movies and write in books?"

"Umm... no, I don't think so" he bites his lip holding his words within.

"Why, Dylen?"

"Don't you know about my mom and dad? What did they do? They got married thinking they were in love then took divorce after my birth" his smile dropped and sadness took over him. But he was trying too hard to hold his emotions in.

"Sorry, Dylen. I should have not asked this. I'm so sorry" Jan put her head down. She felt like she had hurt him by asking such question even after knowing about his parents.

"It's okay, Jan. It is neither yours nor my mistake. They were fated to be apart." He claimed.

"No, it's not like that, Dylen"

"Then how is it?" He questioned her.

"It's just...just...you know what I mean"

"No, I don't. What you mean" Dylen playfully asked her. Jan gave a punch on his arm "oh, shut up! Stop playing around already." Dylen chuckled and stroked her hair messing them badly.

"Aye! You can't touch my hair or else I'll tell my dad. Don't forget he is a sheriff of this town" she tried to move his hand from her head.

"I can do it. I'm your friend and your dad can do nothing. I'm your friend" he now started pulling her hairs.

Jan moved towards him when he started to run up the stairs. Jan followed behind him. Dylen went and pulled the blanket all above him and lay down on the cabriole.
Jan tried to pull it but she failed as his grip was strong. He started laughing at her actions.

Out of frustration, Jan kicked him and went to sleep. Dylen kept laughing for sometimes before falling into deep sleep.

In the middle of the night, Ivy got up as she was feeling uneasy. She pulled the blanket to her side, which made Ariadne to wake up.

"Ivy? What happened, is everything all right?" She asked trying to open her eyes.

"I don't think so..." Ivy sat, leaning back to the wall to get support.

"Ivy..." Ariadne joint Ivy. Now they both were sitting beside each other taking the support of the wall behind the bed.

"What happened? Is something bothering you?" Ariadne was concerned about her.

"I miss mom and dad. If they would have been alive then we would have not left the house" Ivy moved the hairs which were falling over her face. Ariadne reached for her hand and gave it a squeeze. "I can understand, Ivy" she continued, "I know what it feels like to have no parents. It's like you miss out having those two important pillars in your life which support you. Care about you. And love unconditionally without asking something in return"

"But you have your foster parents," Ivy looked at her.

"Yes, they are. But to be honest, they hate me. They don't like the way I'm. Like a million times they told me that they did a mistake adopting me" sorrow can be seen in her eyes.

"Sorry, Ariadne. I didn't mean to hurt you. And don't be sad. You have us and you are not a mistake. They are lucky to adopt such a kind, cool and intelligent girl like you" Ivy gave  her a side hug. "You think so?" Ariadne asked.

"Yes, now smile" Ivy insisted her to smile. Ariadne was so sad that she doesn't want to smile. Ivy started tickling her which made her laugh. They were rolling and laughing when Callan started babbling in sleep. They tried to suppress their laughter and went to sleep.

Everyone fell asleep. There was complete silence. Rune felt as if something was crawling up on her. Something which was double her weight was pushing her lean body down. Compressing her. She frowned in sleep. When she felt a cold breath on her neck. She opened her eyes to see a black silhouette in front of her.
