Note: I DO NOT own The Owl House or Ben 10 so don't report me, this is for entertainment purposes only.

Also, this chapter is based off of The Owl House Season 1, Episode 16. In episode 13, Luz and the detention track students come up with the same plan as in canon to defeat Greater Basilisk. The only difference being that Luz transforms into Four Arms, punching the Greater Basilisk in the gut.

In episode 14, after Tibbles shrinks Luz, King, Willow & Gus. Luz transforms into Cannonbolt, beating up the tiny monsters in the tiny circus. She then beats up Tibbles earlier than in canon before returning to normal size.

In episode 15, Luz turns into XLR8, giving the inner Willow a harder time to chase them than in canon before finding out that Amity's parents forced her to stop being friends with Willow.

With that out of the way, I hope you enjoy the chapter.

Luz has just walked into Hexside along with Willow and Gus to see the school filled with all sorts of decorations.

Luz: What's with the decorations?

Willow: Oh, right, this is your first year.

Gus: This is for the upcoming Grom.

Luz: Grom? Like a party?

Willow: Mhm.

Luz: Huh, you know, in the human realm we have something similar called Prom. I was kicked out of my last school dance for dressing like an otter. Maybe this year I can be your Grom Queen.

Gus: . . .

Willow: Um . . . that's not something people usually sign up for.

Suddenly, someone bumped into Luz as some items fell to the floor.

Amity: Watch it, nitwit! Oh. Hi, Luz and co. Sorry about that.

Luz: No problem. Let me help you. Here, your note.

Amity snatched it out of her hand.

Luz: Wow, you got some quick grabbers.

Amity: It's just . . . it's . . . private . . .

They then listen to the school speakers going off.

Principal Bump: Attention, Hexside Students, this is your principal speaking.

Gus: Oh man, this is it.

Willow: He's announcing who will be this year's Grom royalty.

They said as everyone was left in suspense.

Principal Bump: This year, I have the privilege to bestow our highest Grom honor to . . . Amity Blight.

Luz: Woooooo, yeah, Amity! High five!

Luz then realized no one was cheering and that Amity seemed upset. Amity then ran away as Luz looked on.

Luz: Don't leave me hanging!

Willow: We should give her space. Being Grom Queen is a tough job, even for Amity.

Some time later, Principal Bump had a bunch of students organizing the decorations for the gym.

Luz entered the gym in search of Amity, she saw her sitting on the bleachers.

Luz then approached Amity and sat right next to her.

Luz: You okay, Amity? What's got you down in the dumps?

Amity: I'm guessing you don't know much about Grom?

Luz: Isn't it just a school dance?

Amity: No, it's not just a dance party. Beneath the gym floors is a monster called Grom. Short for Grometheus, the Fear Bringer. Every year, it tries to break out of it's prison, and a student has to defeat it before it invades the town. Ever the optimist, Bump holds a party and calls it tradition. The worst thing is that Grom can read minds and shapeshift into your worst fears. And mine . . . is very embarrassing.

Luz: If it worries you so much, why don't you tell Principal Bump you want out of this death match biz? Unless talking to Bump is your greatest fear?

Amity chuckled.

Amity: No, but that's a good idea. Thanks, Luz.

She says before leaving the gym.

After school had ended, Luz went straight home.

Luz: I'm back!

Eda: Ow!

The Owl Lady yelled upstairs as Luz went to check.

Luz: Guys?

She said as she sees Eda wearing a red collared shirt and a brown tux.

Eda: I told you to be careful with those pins.

King: Why am I doing this? I don't even wear clothes!

Luz: Wow, Eda, you look nice. What're you dressed for?

Eda: I'm chaperoning Grom tonight, so I have to look sharp.

King: And Gus asked me to co-emcee the fight. We're gonna turn this bloodbath into a fun bath!

Eda: Ooh, have they announced the victim yet?

Luz: Yeah, Amity. She's pretty nervous about it too. She said she'd ask the principal to get someone else to do it. I hope he says yes.

A few minutes later, Luz decided to go for a walk outside as she makes her way through the forest.

Luz then hears footsteps in the brush, she quietly tip toes her way towards it before turning the dial on the omnitrix and transforming.

Luz then jumps out of the bushes with a battle cry, emerging as a tiny grey skinned alien.

Note: Like this, but female.

The Galvin stops her battle cry upon realizing it was Amity.

Luz had jumped onto the witch's face, making Amity scream as she falls into a mud puddle.

Greymatter: Oh my gosh, Amity! I'm so sorry!

Amity: Luz? Is that you?

Greymatter: Yeah . . . sorry about that. I didn't know it was you. Also, I meant to turn into Wildmutt.

She says, earning a sigh from Amity.

Amity: And here I thought this day couldn't get any worse.

She said as she gets up from the puddle with Luz riding on her shoulder.

Greymatter: What do you mean? Did you talk to Bump?

Amity: I did, but he said no. I'm Grom Queen, unless I can find a replacement. But who'd wanna switch with me?

Greymatter: . . . I would.

Amity: What?

Greymatter: Amity Blight, I'll do it! I'll take your place and face Grom in the arena! I'll be your fearless champion!

She said enthusiastically until a huge, freaky spider crawls onto Amity's shoulder, eyeing the Galvin hungrily.

Luz screams as the spider attacks her, though Amity was quick to help her.

The next day, Luz was looking through a chest finding several outfits until Hooty appeared with his face right up against Luz's.

Hooty: Hey, Luz. You have a guest.

Luz: Hooty! No touching!

She shoos him away just before her bedroom door opens.

Luz: Hey, Amity.

Amity: If that bird tube ever talks to me again, I'm going to destroy it. You ready to train?

Luz: What do you think I should wear to Grom? This one says "Witch with a Dark Side", but this one says "I'm an Otter . . . with a Dark Side."

Amity: Luz, you need to take this seriously. If you can't defeat Grom, then everyone in the Isles will have to live out their worst nightmare.

Hooty: You wanna hear my worst nightmare?

He says with his face pressed up against Amity.

Amity then proceeds to assault Hooty as the owl tube creature hoots in pain while Luz tries to get Amity off of him, pleading for her to stop.

After Amity's rampage, Luz bandaged up Hooty and gave him an eyepatch.

Amity: Okay, Grom can transform into your worst fears. What are you afraid of, Luz?

Luz: I . . . don't know.

She says, to which Amity and the twins try to figure out the human's weakness.

Later that day, the sun has set and the moon has risen. It's Grom Night as everyone came dressed up with their dates.

Amity was standing by the gym doors looking at her folded note.

Luz: Hey, Amity. Nice dress.

Amity: Oh, thanks.

She says with a blush on her cheeks.

Luz: So what do you think about my outfit?

Amity: You look . . . nice. Strange, but nice. And . . . I just wanna thank you, Luz. Honestly, I'm kind of amazed with how fearless you are. You've done things I could never do.

Luz chuckled.

Luz: Yeah right! You going soft on me, Blight?

Amity laughed.

Amity: In your dreams.

They then look as they hear a microphone going off.

Gus: Now introducing our Grom Queen. You know her, you love her, you've at least heard about her . . . Luz, the human!

A spotlight came on, revealing Luz to the crowd as everyone cheers for her.

Luz: Wish me luck.

She said before heading inside the gym.

Amity: . . . Luck.

She says with sincerity and worry for the human.

Gus then presses a button which opens the gym floors as well as raising two walls with a variety of weapons hanging from them.

Luz decided to go with the chained mace, only using the Omnitrix as a last resort.

She then places one of her glyphs on the mace as she enters the room beneath the gym with confidence.

She then turns around to see a black sludge-like substance moving around.

Luz: Come on out, Grom!

Suddenly, the sludge turned into several cats with human faces as they spoke to her, claiming to be people trapped in a cat's body and begging to help turn them back to normal.

Luz was weirded out by this as she slams the mace down to the floor, activating the ice glyph as it creates a large ice wall, launching the cats into the air.

The crowd cheers for Luz.

Eda: You got this, kid!

She yelled as Grom shapeshifts into a giant phone with a picture of an online jerk you wants to debate for no reason.

Luz: You're not coming from a place of intellectual honesty, so debating you would be pointless!

She yelled, using another ice glyph to impale the phone with an ice spike.

The crowd cheers a third time as Luz continues to fight Grom, defeating each form it took.

Luz: Is that all you got, Grom? I'm beating you and I'm not even using the Omnitrix!

She said just before Grom used one of it's tendrils to touch Luz's forehead.

Suddenly, there was a bright light as Luz was blinded by it.

When the light dissipated, Luz looked around and her eyes widened in shock.

Throughout the room she saw Eda's portal appear, opening as the teen's mother exits.

Camila: Mija?

Luz: Mom? What are you doing here?

Camila: Luz, what is this terrible place? This isn't camp. Have you been here all these weeks?

Luz: Mom, I can explain.

Camila: Mija, have you been lying to me?

She said as her lower torso had become Grom's true form.

Luz's eyes widened before running away as Grom chased after her.

Luz: Dang it! I can't face my fear like this! Gotta use the omnitrix!

She says while turning the dial, not sure which alien she should turn into. She continued to run, staring at a silhouette of one of her aliens.

Luz: Good time as any to give Number 10 a try.

She says, slamming the omnitrix and being engulfed in a purple light.

Everyone shielded their eyes before looking on in awe as Luz had transformed into a feminine humanoid with a body that appeared to be made up of stars and the night sky, the omnitrix symbol residing on her chest.

Eda: Woah! Has she ever turned into that one before?

Willow: No, but whatever it is, Grom's down for.

She says before they realize that something was off.

Amity: Wait, why isn't she moving?

She says as the alien just stands there, completely still like a statue.

Grom tilted it's head as it approaches the alien.

Eda: Luz! What're you waiting for?! Take him out!

She says, but Luz didn't move a muscle.

Grom roars in her face, but no response. The monster then sets a tendril onto the alien's forehead, trying to find it's fear.

Grom then backed away, surprised that he couldn't even read the alien's mind.

Grom then growls as it tries to attack the alien, but it's body seemed indestructible as the monster attacks her.

Amity: What's going on? Is there something wrong with her?

Eda: How should I know?!

She yells before Grom looks up towards the crowd up above.

Eda: Uh-oh.

Meanwhile, Luz had found herself in what seems to be the void of space, though she was perfectly fine and capable of movement.

Luz: This is so cool! Why didn't I try this guy before?

She says to herself before noticing two pairs of giant purple heads in front of her, one male and one female.

Luz: Uhhh . . . hi?

Female Entity: Greetings Luz Noceda. It's so nice to finally meet you.

Luz: Oh. Well, it's nice to meet you too. But were you expecting me?

Female Entity: Indeed, for you are one of three.

Luz: What?

She says, to which the male entity growls in annoyance.

Male Entity: Don't make us repeat ourselves.

Luz: Sorry. So who are you guys anyway?

Female Entity: We are one of the most powerful beings in the universe.

Male Entity: Because we are the most deliberative.

Luz: What do you mean? Did I beat Grom?

Male Entity: No. How'd you figure that?

He said, confusing the teen even more.

Female Entity: I am Serena, the voice of love and compassion.

Male Entity: And I am Bellicus, the voice of rage and aggression. You're supposed to be the voice of reason!

Luz: I'm so confused.

Serena: Bellicus and I have been locked in eternal argument.

Luz: Um . . .

Bellicus: We deliberate, child. Alien X doesn't do anything unless we agree unanimously.

Luz: Okay then, can I see what's happening at Grom? I'm worried about my friends.

Serena: Seconded.

Bellicus: . . . Motion carried.

They said as a light appears, Luz's jaws drops upon seeing Grom rampaging throughout Hexside.

Students and teachers were running and screaming as the Fear Bringer took the forms of their greatest fears.

Eda: Somebody fix Luz or whatever's going on with her!

The Owl Lady said as she tries to fight the monster.

Amity runs down, grabbing Alien X's hand and trying to pull.

Amity: Luz! What's going?! Why aren't you moving?! Are you even conscious?! Please, wake up!

The witch pleaded as Alien X stood still without a word.

Luz: Oh my gosh! Quick! We gotta help them!

Serena: Seconded.

Bellicus: . . . Opposed. Motion denied.

Luz: What?!

Bellicus: We have to be unanimous, weren't you listening?

Luz: But people are going to get hurt!

Bellicus: People get hurt all the time, what does it matter?

Luz: Please change your mind.

Bellicus: No.

Luz: Please?

Bellicus: No.

Luz: Pretty please?

Bellicus: No means no, Luz Noceda.

Luz: Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-

She says with cute otter eyes.

Bellicus: You can't keep this up forever.

Luz: eeeeeeeeeeeee-yes I can-eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-

Serena: Come now, Bellicus. Surely the voice of rage and aggression would enjoy bringing retribution to those who bring harm upon others?

Luz: eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-

Bellicus growls in annoyance as Luz continues to plead with the cutest otter eyes she could muster.

Bellicus: All right! Fine! Just stop this already!

Luz: Yes! Heehee . . .

Back at Grom, Eda was having difficulty fighting the Fear Bringer even with Amity and Willow's help.

Suddenly, Alien X starts moving, levitating into the air and grabbing everyone's attention.

Alien X: Defeating Grom motion carried!

The alien says with the combined voices of Luz, Serena & Bellicus before raising it's hand into the air, creating a circle of energy to which it moves towards Grom.

The monster roars before seeming to disappear in an instant.

Everyone was in utter silence until Luz reverts back to her human form.

Luz: I'm so sorry everyone! No one got hurt, right?

King: And there you have it, folks. A weird but glorious match for this year's Grom. Let's give a big hand to our Grom Queen, Luz Noceda!

He said as the crowd cheers for Luz, lifting her off the floor, to which Luz smiles and laughs.

Principal Bump: And now, students, it's time for the official Grom Dance. We've already witnessed a strange but amazing performance this evening, but we remain true to our traditions. Miss Noceda, as Grom Queen, you may choose your dance partner.

Luz looks around a bit before walking up to a certain girl she knows.

Luz: May I have this dance, Amity?

Amity blushed.

Amity: Y-You want to dance with me?

Luz: Why not, right?

She says with a smile, Amity smiled as well, taking Luz's hand as they headed to the gym's center.

They and everyone else started dancing with their Grom dates as the music started playing.

Luz: I'm very sorry about earlier.

Amity: Don't be, but what happened to you?

Luz: Apparently Alien X is so powerful that I need a unanimous vote with two giant heads before doing anything.

Amity: So what did you do to Grom exactly?

Luz: I'm not sure. I think I might've erased him from existence.

Amity: Well, at least everything turned out okay.

Luz: Yeah . . . but my most powerful transformation just isn't worth the price, at least not if I don't have any other choice.

She says as the two continued their dance.

Some time later, Luz posed for a picture. She then brings in Amity, Willow & Gus for a group photo.

Soon enough, it was time for Luz to go as she said her goodbyes to Willow, Gus & Amity before leaving with Eda & King.

They then made it to the Owl House as Luz changed into her pajamas, slumping onto her bed.

She then texts her mother before falling asleep.
