Note: I DO NOT own The Owl House, so don't report me, this is for entertainment purposes only.

This chapter will be based on The Owl House Season 1, Episode 16.

In episode 13, Luz & Azura end up fighting the Greater Basilisk, using glyphs with her paint brush to defeat it.

In episode 14, Luz literally draws other tiny animals to fight off the hostile tiny animals in the tiny circus.

In episode 15, Luz's ink magic allows her to fight off the inner Willow better. This stalls for time a little longer before she and Amity bring back Willow's memories.

With that out of the way, I hope you enjoy this chapter.

Luz was in the living room, practicing her plant glyphs, using her paint brush to create a giant flower.

Luz: Yes! Check it out, King. My glyph skills are blossoming.

Azura: Nice.

She says as the two high five each other, Luz having to use her finger to do so.

King: You think that's impressive? Check this out.

He says as they see him and Toto watch a video of two adorable cats.

Luz: I see we're getting enough Wi-Fi through the portal for cat videos.

King: Senseless violence. Yes, attack!

Toto: Death is your god!

Luz: I regret teaching you guys about the internet.

King: Ha! What possible regrets could come from the internet?

Toto: Oh, did you know that Earth is actually flat?

Luz: Like that for starters.

Azura: Yeah, the world's actually round.

They says as Luz takes the phone from them.

She then looks at her phone to see that she got a text from her mom asking how camp was for her.

Luz thought for a little bit before responding with a thumbs up emoji.

King: Ah, a severed hand. Perfect response.

Luz sighs.

Azura: Luz, you shouldn't be vague with your mother.

Luz: What am I supposed to say, Azura? "Hey, mom, not at camp actually. I'm in a demon realm learning to be a witch. Also, did you know that aliens, magic and demons are real? I have magic powers too! Everything I draw comes to life! Can you believe it?" She would end me.

Azura: I know, I know. But I'm not saying you should tell her everything all at once. Just, you know, text her . . . "I'm having fun, mom." Or something like that.

King: Yeah. And besides, she'd be freaked out by our world anyway.

Toto: And by your ink magic, too.

Luz: Well . . . you do make good points.

She says before the door opens.

Hooty: Hoot, hoot, Luz! Time to fill up that darling little head of yours with . . .

He then spits books out his mouth.

Hooty: Knowledge.

Gus: Please hurry.

Willow: The more I look at him, the more uncomfortable I get.

Hooty: Hoot, hoot!

They said, making Luz and Azura chuckle before kissing King and Toto on their foreheads.

Luz: Don't spend all day watching YouTube, okay?

King: We forge our own path!

Toto: Yeah!

They yell defiantly as Luz leaves.

Some time later, Luz had just walked into Hexside along with Willow and Gus to see the school being decorated.

Azura: What's all this?

Willow: Oh, right, this is your first year.

Gus: This is for the upcoming Grom.

Luz: Grom? Like a party?

Willow: Mhm.

Luz: Huh, you know, in the human realm we have something similar called Prom. I was kicked out of my last school dance for dressing like an otter. Maybe this year I can be your Grom Queen.

Gus: . . .

Willow: Um . . . that's not something people usually sign up for.

Suddenly, someone bumped into Luz as some items fell to the floor.

Amity: Watch it, nitwit! Oh. Hi, Luz and co. Sorry about that.

Luz: No problem. Let me help you.

She says, helping Amity with her stuff.

Luz: Here, your note.

Amity snatched it out of the teen's grasp.

Luz: Wow, you got some quick grabbers.

Amity: It's just . . . it's . . . private . . .

They then listen to the school speakers going off.

Principal Bump: Attention, Hexside Students, this is your principal speaking.

Gus: Oh man, this is it.

Willow: He's announcing who will be this year's Grom royalty.

They said as everyone was left in suspense.

Principal Bump: This year, I have the privilege to bestow our highest Grom honor to . . . Luz Noceda.

Luz: Whaaaaaaat?! No way! I'm gonna be Grom Queen?! Wooooohoooooooooo!! Gimme me five, guys!

Luz cheered, holding her hand up for a high five. She then realized no one was cheering and that Willow, Gus and Amity seemed anxious.

Luz: What's wrong?

Amity: Luz. Do you have any idea what it means to be Grom Queen?

Azura: It's not something bad, is it?

Willow: Probably best if we showed you.

She said as Luz and Azura followed them into the gym.

Luz: Come on, it's our first school dance experience on the Boiling Isles. How bad can it be?

She paused before spotting a red button.

Azura: Luz.

Luz: Must press.

Azura: Don't press the button.

Luz: I'm gonna press it.

Azura: Don't you do it!

Luz: My finger's getting closer to the button!

Azura: Do! Not! Press! That button-!

She was cut off by Luz pressing the button, making the floor open up to reveal an arena down below as well as weapons appearing.

Luz: Medieval torture seems like a strange theme for Grom. But hey.

Amity: They're not for decoration, Luz. This arena is where you'll have to make your debut as Grom Queen.

Azura: Can somebody please explain what's so bad about being Grom Queen?

Willow: Because Grom isn't just any regular dance party.

She says as they see some sort of black goo moving around in the arena.

Luz: What's that?

Amity: That's Grom. Short for Grometheus, the Fear Bringer. Every year, it tries to break out of it's prison, and a student has to defeat it before it invades the town. Ever the optimist, Bump holds a party and calls it tradition. The worst thing is that Grom can read minds and shapeshift into your worst fears.

Luz: I see . . . well, I'm sure I can handle it!

She says with confidence as Amity, Willow & Gus look at her surprised.

Gus: Luz, you did hear what we just told you about Grom, right?

Azura: Have faith, everyone. Luz can do this.

Luz: Yeah! I'll kick Grom's butt!

After school was over, Luz and Azura make it home, Eda and Cleia turning out to be chaperoning Grom tomorrow as the Owl Lady tried out some fancy clothes.

The next day, Luz was looking through a chest finding several outfits until Hooty appeared with his face right up against Luz's.

Hooty: Hey, Luz. You have a guest.

Luz: Hooty, go away!

Azura: And who is this guest?

They shoo him away just before the bedroom door opens.

Luz: Amity?

Amity: If that bird tube ever talks to me again, I'm going to destroy it. You ready to train?

Luz: What do you think I should wear to Grom? This one says "Witch with a Dark Side", but this one says "I'm an Otter . . . with a Dark Side."

Amity: Luz, you need to take this seriously. If you can't defeat Grom, then everyone in the Isles will have to live out their worst nightmare.

Hooty: You wanna hear my worst nightmare?

He says with his face pressed up against Amity's cheek.

Amity then attacks Hooty with her nails and teeth as the owl tube, door, house thing starts hooting in pain while Luz and Azura tried holding her back.

Some time later, Hooty was bandaged up while Luz was outside with Amity and the twins.

Amity: Grom will transform into your darkest fears. So what are you afraid of, Luz?

Luz: Hmmm.

Edric: Wanna say our greatest fears on three? One . . . two . . . being alone forever.

Emira: Being stuck with you forever.

This made Edric sad.

Luz: In preparation, I've made a list.

She says, giving it to Amity.

The twins took a look at it, chuckling as they create illusion spells of Luz's "fears." Such as jerks online who wanna debate, human souls trapped in cat bodies and milk, since she's lactose intolerant.

Azura: Are these really your fears?

Amity: Obviously not! Your fears go deeper than things that just gross you out. What's your real fear, Luz?

Luz thought about it for a bit, but couldn't come up with anything.

So Amity, Azura and the twins just randomly try to guess her real fear for a while.

Unfortunately, they ran out of time as they all had to get ready for Grom.

The sun has set and the moon has risen. It's Grom Night as everyone came dressed up and with their dates.

Amity was at the gym doors looking at her folded note.

Luz: Not sure if it's nerves or if I accidentally drank some milk, but something's making my stomach squirm.

She says, Azura on her shoulder as the tiny witch pats her on the cheek.

Amity: You look nice. Strange, but nice. And I gotta be honest, Luz. I'm kind of amazed with how fearless you are. You've done things I could never do.

Luz: Ha! Yeah, right! You going soft on me, Blight?

This made Amity laugh.

Amity: In your dreams.

They then look as they hear a microphone going off.

Gus: Now introducing our Grom Queen. You know her, you love her, you've at least heard about her . . . Luz, the human!

A spotlight came on, revealing Luz to the crowd as everyone cheers for her.

Azura: How about I wait here with Amity? It's your time to shine.

Luz: If that's what you want. Amity?

Amity: Of course.

She says, the young Blight taking Azura onto her shoulder.

Luz: Wish me luck.

She said before heading inside the gym.

Amity: . . . Luck.

She says with sincerity.

Azura: Can I ask you something, Amity?

Amity: Uh, yes?

Azura: Be honest with me. You like Luz, don't you?

She asked, instantly making Amity blush.

Amity: W-What?! No! I . . .

Azura: Yeah, you like her. What're you waiting for? Ask her out!

Amity: But . . . but what if she doesn't like me back?

Azura: She does.

Amity: Huh?

Azura: She thinks I don't notice it, but I've seen Luz look at you, Amity. The same way anyone looks at a crush.

Amity: Are you certain?

Azura: I'm two hundred percent positive! So when Luz wins this thing, you better confess before someone else decides to take her away from you!

Amity: I-I'll try.

While that was happening, Gus presses the button which opens the gym floors as well as raising two walls with a variety of weapons hanging from them.

Luz: I already have a weapon.

She says, twirling her magic paint brush before jumping into the arena as Grom appears, taking the forms of the things that gross Luz out.

Luz then proceeds to fight Grom, making quick work of his forms.

Everyone was cheering for Luz as the fight went on.

As she waved to the crowd, one of Grom's tendrils to grabbed Luz and touched her forehead.

Grom then takes the form of Eda's portal which opens up as Camila enters.

Camila: Mija?

Luz: Mom, what are you doing here?

Camila: Luz, what is this terrible place? This isn't camp. Have you been here all these weeks? What is that costume you're wearing?

Luz: I can explain-

Camila: Mija, have you been lying to me?

She said as the fake Camila's lower half revealed Grom's true form.

Luz shook her head.

Luz: Get it together, Luz! It's not real! Mom's not here! She's in the human realm! She doesn't even know you're here!

She says, taking a deep breath before giving Grom a glare.

With her paint brush, Luz draws a light glyph, blinding Grom.

Luz then draws two plant glyphs to create vines that whipped and snared Grom.

With Grom being held down, Luz draws the ice glyph, jumping above Grom and unleashing the spell.

Grom was hit with a large cylinder of ice, slowly crushing it against the floor.

It took a while, but Grom managed to break free from the vines and began to lift the ice.

Luz was surprised by Grom's strength before the ice, and her on it, were thrown into the ceiling.

Luz just barely managed to get out in time, falling to the floor.

Luz got up and immediately realized she dropped her brush.

She quickly looked around and saw it several yards away.

She ran as fast as she could, but Grom managed to grab her by the leg before she could reach her brush.

Luz screamed as Grom lifted her into the air.

Azura: Luz!

Amity: Willow! Take Azura!

She says, handing the tiny witch over to her before running down into yeh arena.

Willow: Amity, wait!

She yelled, but Amity ignored her as she ran in to help Luz.

Amity: Stay away from her!

She yelled while creating a spell circle, making a tendril of abomination goop come out, wrapping around Grom's tendril.

This made Grom let go of Luz as the human fell to the floor again.

Luz: Amity?

Grom roared as he got rid of the abomination tendril, grabbing Amity and lifting her into the air.

Luz: Amity!

Amity: I'm sorry, Luz. I-

She paused when her eyes started glowing blue as Grom looked for her fear.

Luz: Amity, no! Your fear!

Grom then puts Amity down, taking the shape of Luz.

Luz: What?

She said surprised as Grom then takes Amity's note, ripping it in half as Amity looked heartbroken, picking up one of the halves.

Luz then walks over to Amity, picking up the other half of the note which reads; "Will you go to Grom with me? - Amity"

This made Luz gasp.

Luz: Amity . . . you . . . wanted me to be your Grom date?

She asked, Amity didn't respond as she couldn't bring herself to look at Luz.

Luz then puts a hand on her shoulder, making Amity turn to face her.

Luz: Amity, I'd be delighted to be your Grom date?

She said, to which Amity stared at her in shock.

Amity: You . . . you would?

Luz: Yeah. Thing is, I'm a weirdo back home. An outcast. I once asked someone out as my Prom date, but . . . it didn't go so well. And ever since I never asked anyone to Prom or on a date again, and no one ever asked me out, so . . .

She paused as Amity waited for her to continue.

Luz: Knowing that you wanted me . . . makes me really happy. You know?

She said, tears in the human's eyes as Amity wiped them away.

Amity: Please don't cry, Luz. I hate to see you like this.

She says, the two smiling at one another before Grom roars at them.

Amity: Right, almost forgot about him. May I have this dance?

She says as Luz & Amity held hands before they began to dance.

The choreography was flawless, as if they had practiced before, which they didn't.

Amity created a spell circle with her feet on the ground as the two stood on top of a giant abomination.

Luz then uses her brush to draw a plant glyph on the abomination. The creature leaping straight into Grom's mouth just after the teens jump off.

Grom swallows the abomination but plants start sprouting in and out of it's body, exploding as a giant beautiful tree had grown while Amity & Luz finished their dance.

Crowns then magically appeared on Luz & Amity's head, the two smiling and blushing.

Luz: So . . . I'm guessing the other half of the note has my name on it?

Amity chuckled.

Amity: Like you don't already know.

She says, bringing both halves together to complete it.

King: And there you have it, folks. A glorious beat down for this year's Grom. Let's give a big hand to our Grom Queens, Luz and Amity!

He said as the crowd cheers for them, lifting the two off the floor as they both smiled and laughed.

Everyone returned to the school gym as Principal Bump taps a microphone.

Principal Bump: And now, students, it's time for the official Grom Dance. We've already witnessed an amazing performance this evening, but we remain true to our traditions. Please clear the stage for our Grom couple, Luz and Amity!

He says as everyone claps.

Luz: Well, I guess it's my turn now. May I have this dance, my lady?

The human asks with a bow, offering Amity her hand.

Amity blushed more as she gladly takes it and begins to dance with Luz.

The rest of the students soon followed, dancing with their Grom dates.

Some time later, Luz posed for a picture. She then brings in Amity, Azura, Willow & Gus for a group photo.

Soon enough, it was time for Luz to go as she said her goodbyes to Willow, Gus and Amity.

Azura: Before we go, Luz. I think you and Amity should talk.

Luz: Oh. R-Right.

She says as the tiny witch hopping onto Willow's shoulder as Luz approached Amity.

Luz: So, Amity . . . I just want to say . . .

She took a deep inhale and was about to speak, until . . .

Amity: Do you wanna go out with me?!

Luz: Oh no, I was gonna say that!

Amity: Well . . . I think it's better this way!

She says, taking Luz's hands into hers.

Amity: You said it yourself, Luz. You asked someone out and you got rejected. And no one ever asked you out before, so . . . won't you allow me to be the first?

She asks with her face red as a tomato.

Luz: Y-Yes! I . . . I'd love to be your girlfriend, Amity!

Amity: O-Okay!

They yelled with excitement before Luz pulled her close and slowly gave her a kiss on the lips.

Amity's eyes widened in shock, but she gave in to the kiss, wrapping her arms around Luz's neck.

Azura: Way to go, Luz!

Eda: Ahhhh, young love.

King & Toto: Gross!

They said as Luz & Amity's lips eventually parted.

Amity: Oh. Wow. Grom.

She says before fainting, making Luz scream as she caught her.

Luz: Amity?!

Emira: Looks like you broke her, Luz.

Edric: We'll take care of Mittens.

He says, carrying his unconscious sister as Luz says her goodbyes to everyone before leaving Hexside with Azura, Eda, Cleia, King and Toto.

Once they reached the Owl House, Luz lied down on her bed.

Azura lying down on her own tiny sized bed on the desk, smiling at Luz as the human looks at her text messages.

Luz then smiled as she started writing full sentences to her mother before going to sleep.
