Note: I DO NOT own The Owl House so don't report me, this is for entertainment purposes only.

Also, this chapter is based on The Owl House Season 1, Episode 5. The difference in episode 4 being that Luz returns Owlbeast Eda back to normal a little quicker with Azura, Cleia & Toto's help.

With that out of the way, I hope you enjoy the chapter.

We begin with Luz, Azura, Eda, Cleia, King, Toto & Mrs. Jumbo trying to sell stuff as Luz reads a Good Witch Azura book out loud.

Luz: Emboldened by the dishonor Hecate had shown, Azura lifted her staff to the cotton candy skies and shouted . . .

Azura: I challenge you to a Witch's Duel!

Eda groans in annoyance.

Eda: Would you please stop reading that? It's flowery language is an insult to witches and driving away all our serious customers.

Luz: What customers?

Cleia: Yeah, no one's here.

They said as Eda noticed how empty the marketplace was.

Eda: . . . This is a bad omen. Something awful must be happening today.

Gus: Luz, everyone! Something amazing is happening today!

Luz: Gus, Willow, hey!

Willow: It's the annual covention. Student witches get to see all types of covens before they get placed in one. There's even a mystery guest this year.

Luz: A job fair for witches?! Eda, can we go?!

Eda: Absolutely not.

Luz groans in sadness as she slumps to the ground.

Azura: Why shouldn't we go?

Eda: I never joined a coven for a reason. Sure, it's like a fun club for witches, but you're also giving up your magical independence to be part of a crooked system! No offense.

Gus: None taken.

Eda: In any case, I haven't been to one since we were girls.

Luz: "We?" Who's "we?" You have a mysterious past, don't you?! Now we gotta go!

Eda: No.

Luz: Okay then. I guess you leave us no choice.

Azura: Toto?

Toto cleared his throat.

Toto: "You shall not shan't doeth no more harm." Azura callethed out.

Eda: So flowery, so awful . . .

She said as Toto continued to read the story. Eda opened the portal and enters it, only for King to toss Toto into it just before it closes.

Eda reappears within seconds with Toto still reading while riding on top of her head.

Eda: Stop it! Stop it! I will literally do anything to make this stop!

She pleaded as King and Cleia laughed hysterically.

They then made their way just outside the covention, much to Eda's dismay.

Eda disguised herself by wearing a cloak, hiding her long hair which was a little difficult to fit in.

They then made their way inside, it was an amazing sight as Luz's eyes sparkled in awe and wonder.

Even Azura was intrigued by the Covention.

Gus: Those banners are for the main nine, but there are hundreds of other covens you can join.

Willow: Flower Coven, Artist Coven, Big Dog Coven, Small Cat Coven, Tiniest Cat Coven-

Eda groans.

Willow: Also the Grumpy Coven.

Eda: What was that?

They ran away laughing as Eda stayed behind with Cleia on her shoulder.

Cleia: Cheer up, it's not that bad.

Eda: Just wait. You ain't seen nothing, yet.

It didn't take long for Eda to catch up with the kids as they continue to walk throughout the covention.

Luz: Ooh, what's that?

Willow: That's the construction coven, one of the main nine. They use power glyphs to increase their strength.

She said as the little conspiracy girl is given a power glyph. She then goes on a rampage, destroying things as the coven tries to stop her.

Azura: Woah.

She said as Willow & Gus showed them around.

Luz: Acceptance? Camaraderie? A sense of belonging? Covens sound incredible!

Azura: How come you never joined one, Eda?

Eda: Watch closely.

She says as they watch teens at the illusion coven stand.

Eda: When you join a coven, all your other magic is sealed away.

She said as one teen was given an illusion coven sigil on his arm.

Eda: From now on, that kid will only be able to make illusions. And since I never joined a coven, I'm not limited to using just one type of magic. That's why I'm the most powerful witch in the boiling isles.

Cleia: Okay, I'm starting to see your point.

They then see a different kind of coven with several guards wearing white cloaks and bird masks.

Gus: It's the Emperor's Coven! Do you think they'll sign my forehead?

Willow: Only one way to find out!

She said as the two ran inside.

Luz: You coming, Eda?

Eda: Nah. Out of all the covens, this one's the worst. I'll wait out here.

Luz: Okay then. I'm just gonna go check it out and see for myself, don't wait up for us, okay?

She said as she enters.

Eda sighed until she saw the man that suspected her earlier talking to a guard.

Eda: Luz, wait up!

She said as she ran after her protege.

Once they took their seats, the lights dimmed as Principal Bump appeared on stage.

Principal Bump: Hello, Bonesborough. Students ask me all the time, "Principal Bump, what's the height of magical achievement?" Well, let me tell you now. It's being selected to join the best of the best. And there are none better than the jewel of the coven system, and the enforcers of his will, the Emperor's Coven!

He said as three emperor's coven members appeared, each using a different type of spell which amazed the audience.

Principal Bump: Members of the Emperor's Coven have access to all, yes, all forms of magic. But only the best can ascend these ranks. Someday, that could be one of you!

He said, pointing at Amity, who gets excited.

Azura: Great. She's here.

Luz: Oh boy.

They said as Bump continued.

Principal Bump: And now, I am pleased to introduce the esteemed leader of this coven and this year's mystery guest. You know her, you love her. Lilith!

He said as a woman with dark blue hair, a grey dress and a white cloak appears on stage, surprising Eda.

Cleia: You know her?

Eda: Something like that.

Lilith: Thank you. Thank you, all. It wasn't easy for me to rise to the top. No, I started from humble beginnings. Now I have the highest honor of enforcing the Emperor's will. So be more! The Emperor's Coven awaits you!

Eda leaves the stands as Luz follows her.

Luz: Eda, where are you going?

Eda: I'm gonna head home and wash the con funk off my skin.

Azura: Can't you stay just a little bit longer?

Eda: No. I'll see you girls later.

Cleia: Yeah, I'm not really digging this place anymore.

They say before leaving.

Azura: Come on, Luz! Let's keep looking around!

Luz: Right!

They say, to which Luz turns around only to bump into Amity.

Amity: Watch where you're-Oh, it's you. One of Willow's abomination things.

She said, not noticing Azura as she hid behind Luz.

Luz: Uh, hey, Amity. So, funny story. Not an abomination. Sorry for the confusion last week. I'm Luz, the human. Hi.

She said, offering her a handshake.

Amity: Ugh! Put that away. What's a human doing here anyway? This place is for witches only.

She said, making Azura pout.

Luz: Well, I'm learning how to be a witch. I'm receiving lessons from a powerful witch and a ferocious demon.

Amity: Is that your ferocious demon there?

Luz turns to see King & Toto riding Mrs. Jumbo with a bunch of stuff people have been giving them for free.

King: Hey, Luz! Look at all these offerings!

He said before falling off Mrs. Jumbo, Luz went over to see if they were all right.

King dropped a cupcake, to which Luz was gonna get for him, until Amity steps on it.

Amity: Oops! That was an accident.

She said with a smug grin.

Toto: You monster!

Luz: Why are you being so mean, Amity?

Amity: Because you and your pets are giving witches-in-training a bad name.

King: We are not pets!

Luz hugs them only for Azura to reveal herself.

Azura: They are very good boys and our cuddle buddies! I'll tell you what, Amity. It's one thing to say Luz can't be a witch. But it's another thing to bully our friends. Just as I said to Hecate at the Bog of Immediate Regret, we challenge you to a witch's duel!!

Everyone gasped at this while Amity stares at Azura in shock.

Amity: Wha . . . Azura? How . . . ? Am I dreaming?

Luz: No, you are not! Azura here is my creation with the power of ink magic!

She says, taking out a brush, aiming it at Amity as if it were a sword.

Luz: So I can become a witch! And I agree with Azura! A witch's duel sounds perfect!!

She yelled, to which Amity snaps out of it and glares at them.

Amity: I see. So this Azura is just ink. Not real. Okay, human, I accept your challenge.

She said as they stared each other down.

Amity: Let's set the terms for this duel, shall we?

Luz: Yeah. If I win, you apologize to King and Toto for squishing his cupcake. And you also have to admit that humans can become witches too.

Amity: Fine by me. But when I win, you have to tell the whole covention you're not a witch and stop training . . . forever.

Luz: Fine. Let's shake on it.

She said, offering a handshake. Amity then creates a magic circle around her wrist and then shakes hands with the human.

Amity: The everlasting oath is sealed. We meet back inside the theater in one hour. Let's see how good that ink magic of yours really is.

She says before leaving.

Azura: Did she seriously say that I'm not real!?

Luz: Forget about it, Azura. We got a duel to prepare for!

Luz then told Eda about the duel just as she was talking to Lilith, who turns out to be Amity's teacher.

They then head to the theater within the hour as Lilith appears on stage.

Lilith: Beloved citizens, the Emperor's Coven proudly presents an impromptu demonstration of the sort of witch we seek every year. Introducing . . . Amity Blight.

She said as Amity appears on stage with Lilith as the crowd cheers.

Lilith: Versus . . . some human girl.

The crowd doesn't cheer, saying that humans can't do magic and that Amity would totally win this.

Eda: You sure you've got this?

Luz: Definitely, it's three against one. Right, Mrs. Jumbo?

She asked the elephant, the animal trumpeting in response as she used her trunk to carry Luz & Azura onto her back.

Azura: We are gonna KNOCK! HER! DEAD!

Luz: Okay, take it easy, Azura.

Azura: Sorry. Got a little carried away.

She said as they entered the arena, staring at Amity, ready for a fight just as a monster bell starts screaming.

Amity then creates a spell circle on the ground.

Amity: Abomination, rise.

She says as a huge abomination rises from the circle.

Azura: Uh-oh.

Luz: This won't be easy.

They said as even Amity was surprised by this.

Amity: Show me what you got, human.

She says with a condescending grin, to which Mrs. Jumbo let's out a growl.

Luz: All right . . . let's do this thing!!

Azura: Charge!!

They yelled as Mrs. Jumbo let out a war cry, charging towards Amity.

Amity: Abomination, seize!

She yelled as her abomination growled, stomping towards our trio.

Both Luz & Azura jumped off of Mrs. Jumbo as the elephant and abomination clashed, both trying to push the other back. Though they seemed equally matched in strength and size.

Luz: Alright, now to make something to fight back!

She says, reaching into her bag for papers while Mrs. Jumbo held off Amity's abomination.

Azura watched the fight for a bit, only to look at Luz upon hearing the teen screaming.

Azura: What's wrong?!

Luz: I don't have any paper!

Azura: No paper?!

Luz: No! Now I can't make anything! What do we do?!

Meanwhile at the stands, Eda saw the problem and began to whistle while creating a spell circle.

Suddenly, a pile of papers appeared next to the two.

Luz: Paper!

She squealed with excitement, grabbing them as she thought about what to paint.

Azura looked back towards the fight, watching Mrs. Jumbo pierce the abomination with her tusks.

Though the abomination, basically being a slime monster, didn't take any serious damage.

Luz: Dang it!

Azura: What?! What's wrong now?!

Luz: Artist's Block!

Azura: Artist's Block?!

Luz: Why'd I have to get it now?! Really bad timing, brain!

She yelled

Amity was growing impatient as her abomination wasn't making any progress in defeating Mrs. Jumbo.

So she decided to step in, running towards the two behemoths as she created a spell circle.

Suddenly, Mrs. Jumbo was attacked from behind by a giant abomination goop arm.

Distracted, the abomination managed to knock Mrs. Jumbo to the ground.

Azura: Mrs. Jumbo needs help!

Luz: I know! But I still don't know what to make! And even if I did I don't think I'll be able to finish in time!

She said, which then gave Azura an idea.

Azura: Luz! You're a genius!

Luz: What?

Azura: I know what you can make!

Meanwhile, Mrs. Jumbo was struggling to get back up as Amity and her abomination held the elephant down.

Suddenly, a large stream of fire engulfed the abomination goop arm.

Amity: What?!

She yelled as the arm burned into stone, turning around to see a large red dragon standing beside Luz & Azura.

Luz: Say hello to Odahviing! Which I made after making this giant paint brush!

She declares while wielding a giant paint brush.

Odahviing: Yol!

It roared, breathing fire onto the abomination, petrifying it to stone.

Amity: No! It can't end like this!

She yelled, only to hit her back against something that growled.

It was Mrs. Jumbo, the elephant grabbing and restraining Amity with her trunk.

Amity: Let me go!

She yelled as she desperately tried to break free from the animal.

Luz: Amity, I won! Just forfeit!

She said as Azura & Odahviing glared at her.

Amity growled, but eventually stopped struggling and spoke.

Amity: Okay . . . I forfeit . . . you win.

She says with her head down, to which Luz have Mrs. Jumbo a nod, the elephant putting the witch down.

Eda: Wooooooo! That's my girl!

The owl lady cheered as everyone ran into the arena, giving Luz a group hug in celebration.

King: I knew you'd win, Luz!

Toto: Yeah! That was amazing!

Cleia: Helpful as always, Azura.

Azura: Thanks, Cleia.

Luz: No, thank you, Azura. We probably would've lost if you didn't give me your suggestion to create our big red dragon friend! Straight out of The Elder Scrolls!

She says, looking towards Odahviing with stars in her eyes.

And then Odahviing started laughing.

Odahviing: Friends? With a tiny human like you? Hah! Not likely. I only aided you because I thought those purple creatures would provide me a challenge.

He says before taking off into the skies.

Luz: Okay . . . I guess he doesn't wanna be friends.

She says before noticing Amity walking away with a shameful expression.

Luz: Amity, wait!

She says, running after her.

After a bit of searching, they soon find Amity crouched in a corner with her face buried in her arms.

Luz: Amity, I'm sorry.

Amity: Seriously? Just leave me alone!

Luz: I didn't mean to embarrass you.

Amity: That's all you ever do! First at school and now this!

Luz: Yeah, but-

Amity: You made me look like a fool in front of the Emperor's Coven! My future! You think it's so easy to be a witch! I have been working my whole life to get to the top! What about you, huh?! How long have you had your ink magic?!

Luz: . . . A little over a month.

Amity: Right! So you don't know how I feel! And you're so much better than me without nearly as much time or effort put into your skills!

Luz: Yeah, well . . . tough!

She yelled, surprising Amity.

Luz: Look, I'm sorry for humiliating you! Really, I am! But you don't have to take your anger out on me, okay!? It's not like I asked to have ink magic! Heck, I don't even know how or why I have it! I just do!!

She yelled, Amity staring at her before calming down.

Luz then takes out a piece of paper and draws a light glyph, creating a small orb of life.

Luz: My ink magic might not need much training, but the other stuff I need to put in serious effort.

She said as Amity stares at the orb for a moment.

Amity: . . . That's nothing. A child could do a light spell. But I've never seen it cast like that.

Luz: It doesn't come naturally to me like it does for you, so I've had to improvise. Unlike my ink magic, which is natural to me . . . I think?

Amity sighs before creating a spell circle and taking Luz's hand in it.

Amity: The oath is unbound.

She said as she stood up and began to walk away.

Luz: But I won. Are you just doing this so you don't have to apologize for the cupcake?

Amity chuckled.

Amity: Maybe.

She says, looking back towards Luz with a smile before walking away.

Azura: Luz! You left me!

She cried out, being carried by King along with Toto.

Luz: Sorry, Azura.

King: We have something for you both, in honor of your victory.

Toto: And it's the best thing, because it's free, comes from our hearts and we always have more than we need.

Luz gasped.

Luz: Is it love?

King: Ugh! No! It's Tote Bags!

Toto: One for each of you! And Azura's is perfect for her size!

They says, giving them to the girls.

King: And they have so many uses.

He said before he and Toto hop into the totes bag.

Toto: Away fair chariot! Away!

Luz & Azura smile as they pats King & Toto on their heads.

Eda: We gotta go.

Luz: How'd you get away from Lilith?

Cleia: Let's just say she had a real "snack attack!"

She joked as Eda laughed.

Eda: You crack me up, Cleia! Oh boy . . . ahem! Jokes aside, let's get out of here before my sister realizes I tied her pointy shoes together.

They then hear the angry shrieks of Lilith in the distance.

Cleia: And that's our cue!

She said as they run to the exit.

Azura: Wait, Lilith's your sister?!

Luz: Now that's a mysterious past payoff!

Eda: You think that's all the mystery I got? Wait till you hear about my parents.

Luz: Your parents?! We need to know more!

Azura: Spill it!

King: Trust me, you don't wanna know.

Luz: Okay, I'll leave it alone. For now. In the meantime I'm gonna try and put my magic paint brush to good use in the future! No need for paper, less time consuming and I can even paint in mid-air! Like a cartoon.

She says with a satisfied smile on her face.
