Also, I should let you know that this chapter will be based on The Owl House Season 2, Episode 6.

With episode 5 being the same as in canon. Luz accidentally getting Amity fired from her job at the library before getting her unfired and then Amity kissing her cheek, leaving Luz stunned outside Blight Manor.

Also, since they still have the portal, Luz goes home early, finding Vee to which they both explained everything to Camila.

With that out of the way, I hope you enjoy the chapter.

We begin with Luz at Hexside's Grudgby field along with Willow, Gus and other students as Principal Bump and Eda showed up.

Principal Bump: Good tidings on this momentous day. You're all about to receive your witches' staffs and, more importantly, meet your palisman. This is a crucial step in your magical development. Palismen are lifelong partners. They can become your good friends and a powerful tool. In my case . . .

He says, revealing to everyone that his hat is his palisman, returning to his staff as the principal's long black hair was let down.

The students gasped in surprise upon this revelation.

Principal Bump: Frewin here helps me see.

Eda: Now, traditionally, young witches carve their staffs from the branch of an old Palistrom tree.

Principal Bump: But, sadly, Palistrom trees are becoming more rare. And those that remain are guarded covetously.

Eda: That's why I've teamed up with Bumpipoo-

Principal Bump: Never call me that.

Eda: To bring you . . .

She says before Bat Queen shows up.

Bat Queen: Palisman Adoption Day!

She said as a dozen or so palismen appeared, the students looking at them in awe.

Luz: They're so cute!

Bat Queen: These little ones have not had homes in many years. They want to feel a connection. Kneel and state your deepest wish, and your like-minded partner will find you.

Boscha: Ugh. I want my own Palisman, not some trashy hand-me-down.

Willow: Your loss!

She says, being the one to go first.

Willow: I want to be strong and wise to protect everyone I love. And if anyone gets in my way, they'll feel the sting of defeat.

Bat Queen: Tender yet tenacious. Clover gives her support.

She says before Clover, a bird faced bee-like Palisman, buzzes up to Willow, transforming into a staff.

Willow: Oh my gosh! I'm gonna take such good care of you.

Boscha: Outta my way!

She says, shoving Willow away.

Boscha: I wanna play professional Grudgby!

She said as Bat Queen chuckled.

Bat Queen: A competitive spirit. Maya will be thrilled.

She says before Maya, a crab-like Palisman, crawls up to Boscha, transforming into a staff.

Boscha: Okay. This is pretty cool.

Afterwards, Viney & Gus took their turns and each got a palisman of their own.

Luz then rubs her hands together before walking to the little palismen.

Luz: I want to be . . . a witch!

She says, but none of the palismen approached the teen.

Bat Queen: Palismen bond through emotion. I do not sense any conviction from you. What is it that you wish to accomplish with your magic?

Luz: Uhhhh . . .

Unfortunately for the human, Luz had no idea what she wanted to do with her life as a witch and went home empty handed.

It was night now as Luz was in her room.

Luz: Well this sucks.

Luz lets out a sigh, lying on her back before a red bird palisman emerged from her bag.

Luz: Hey, I recognize you. What're you doing here? Did you come here for me?

She asks, but the palisman ignores her as it hops around the room, chirping.

Luz: Of course you didn't. Come on, little dude. Let's get you back to your nest.

She says before leaving the owl house and making her way to Hexside.

She made it to the Grudgby field, reaching the palismen nest which was protected by a magic barrier.

The little red bird palisman then breaks the barrier with ease as Luz opens the nest, seeing the rest of them within.

Luz: Awww. Okay, I'm gonna stay here and figure out what I'm gonna do until I get myself a palisman.

She says before lying down with the palismen for a few hours before eventually growing tired.

But suddenly, the nest began to shake as everyone was wide awake now. Luz then approaches the door, opening it.

Luz: Hey! We're a little busy in . . . here?

She says in confusion upon realizing that they were a couple hundred feet above ground.

They then looked up to see the nest hooked up by a large flying ship.

Luz: I think we're getting kidnapped.

She says before proceeding to climb up the hook and onto the side of the ship as she saw the the Golden Guard as the pilot.

Luz then sneaks up behind the Golden Guard and tapping a fire glyph onto his back, sending the Golden Guard hurtling out of the ship as he screamed.

Luz: Now, how do I steer this thing?

Golden Guard: Oh, you just pull that cord above your head.

Luz: Oh, thank y-Wait.

She says upon seeing the Golden Guard right in front of her.

Golden Guard: Hi.

He says before surrounding her in a red aura of magic, sending the teen flying into a wall and tying her up with rope.

Golden Guard: You didn't think yeeting me would work a second time, did you?

Luz: What're you stealing the palismen for, Golden Guard?!

Golden Guard: You should be more concerned about yourself. For the crime of rocketing me off my own ship, you'll be locked in the dingiest cell of the Conformatorium for the rest of your sad little life.

Luz: I don't think so.

She says before using her strength to break free from the magic and rope.

She then grabs the Golden Guard by the throat, lifting him off the floor.

The Golden Guard then grabs hold of her wrist and began to squeeze, growling in anger.

Suddenly, a large dragon-like creature appeared, attacking the ship and causing it to fall towards the ground.

Luz: Oh crud!

She yelled, bracing for impact.

Everyone blacked out for a little while before Luz opened her eyes.

Luz: Ugh . . .

She said as Luz noticed that the little red bird palisman was with her.

She then noticed an unconscious Golden Guard and his staff on the ground, picking it up before hearing the voices of Kikimora and a few coven scouts.

She then looks around a corner to see exactly what she heard.

Kikimora: I'm afraid the Golden Guard is lost. Such a tragic accident.

She says, obviously faking her emotions while holding the Golden Guard's helmet.

After the coven members left, along with the other palismen, Kikimora then blew a whistle which summoned the same dragon-like creature that attacked the ship.

Kikimora: Excellent work, my pet. Now, find the rest of him and have a nice little snack.

She says, offering the helmet to the creature, to which it gladly devours.

Kikimora: I'll call for you soon.

She says before leaving, to which Luz backs away, looking towards the unconscious Golden Guard.

She knew she couldn't stay here, but she couldn't just leave him here.

She then lets out a sigh before approaching the golden guard, seeing his now unmasked face.

Luz: Wake up!

She yells before slapping the Golden Guard across the face with.

Golden Guard: What?! You!

He yells before Luz covers his mouth with her hand.

Luz: Listen. You're a bad guy and I do not like you! But Kikimora's trying to kill you and I'm too nice to let that happen!

She says, to which the Golden Guard licks her hand.

Luz: Gross!

She says before punching him before the two got into a struggle.

Luz: I'm trying to help you!

Golden Guard: Why should I believe you!?

He yelled before they heard loud footsteps from Kikimora's dragon, to which they quickly hid.

It took only a few short seconds before the creature spotted the Golden Guard's cloak, eating it while they made their escape into the nearby town of Latissa.

Luz couldn't help but look around at all the people and buildings in town as she walked alongside the Golden Guard.

Luz: Wow, we haven't been outside Bonesborough that much. Latissa is so cool!

She says before noticing the Golden Guard walking away.

Luz: Wait!

She says before catching up to him.

Luz: Hey! Where are you going? I just helped you!

She said, to which the Golden Guard just grunted in response before approaching a few Emperor's Coven members.

He tried to order them to help him return to the castle, but they didn't know he was the Golden Guard and brushed him off.

Golden Guard: I am your superior and I can prove it. Staff.

He says to Luz, only for the Kaiju hybrid to make a run for it as the Golden Guard gave chase.

They ran past a crowd of people and eventually running into a dead end.

But Luz uses an ice glyph to launch herself onto a rooftop before looking down to see the Golden Guard staring at her.

Luz: Come on, Golden Guard. Don't you know any levitation spells?

She says in a mocking manner only for the Golden Guard to look away.

Luz: Are you powerless without your staff?

She says before the Golden Guard gets up there by doing parkour.

But the moment he reached the roof, Luz tackles him from the side, pinning him to the floor. They then saw the dragon creature fly overhead, landing in front of Kikimora.

Golden Guard: So Kikimora really was after my catch.

Luz: How about we work together to get back the palismen?

Golden Guard: Then what? You think I'll just let you walk away with them?

Luz: Yeah, I'm not really giving you a choice. So . . .

Golden Guard: Fine. A truce till then.

Luz: Mhm.

She says shaking his hand, but keeping his staff from him.

Some time had passed as Luz drew two giant glyphs on a wall.

Golden Guard: Huh. I've never seen magic like this. What will it do?

He says upon observing the glyphs.

Luz: Well, we can't just attack Kikimora's mount otherwise we'll risk it dropping the nest and hurting the palismen. So we're gonna use a fire and ice glyph to create a thick mist.

Golden Guard: I see. That'll give us a chance to take them by surprise. But what about the mount?

Luz: You just leave it to me. If I can beat a Slitherbeast one on one, I can handle the . . . hand faced, dragon thing.

Golden Guard: Okay then. Hm . . . I've never seen glyphs before, but it seems very similar to the elemental magic practiced in the Savage Ages.

Luz: Really?

Golden Guard: Actually, not many people know this, but . . . no. No, no, no, no. This stuff is restricted for a reason. You should forget about it before you get hurt.

Luz: Um . . . okay then? Anyway, aside from Lilith, I've never spoken to anyone inside the Emperor's Coven. What made you wanna join?

She said as the Golden Guard seemed surprised by the human's question before letting out a sigh.

Golden Guard: You were right before. I'm a powerless witch. A lot of my ancestors were. I never thought I'd have a future in a world like this. But then Belos found me and gave me my staff with artificial magic. Said the Titan had big plans for me.

Luz: Atleast you have your future figured out now.

Golden Guard: Atleast you can figure out your own.

He says before the little red bird palisman jumps onto his arm.

Golden Guard: Hey!

He said as the little palisman jumped to the floor, chirping as it approached him.

Golden Guard: Stop! Get away from me!

Luz: He's just being friendly.

Golden Guard: I don't care! These things are made from wild magic! They're dangerous!

Luz: Does he look dangerous to you?

She said as the little palisman smiles at the Golden Guard. They then suddenly heard a growl and looked to see that Kikimora and her mount were ready to take off with the palismen.

Luz: Mask on!

She said as the Golden Guard puts on a mask so no one would recognize him when gets back to the castle, since his helmet was gone.

Luz then hands him his staff back and as soon as Kikimora's dragon creature takes off, she activates the glyph combo.

The mist hits them as Kikimora and the creature had gotten higher into the sky only for Luz to use her plant glyphs to restrain the creature.

Luz then uses pure strength to pull the creature into the Emperor's Coven building and drag it to the ground.

The nest fell only for the Golden Guard to use magic to save the palismen.

Luz then makes her way to the nest, opening it up to see the palismen still in one piece.

Luz: Hello, babies. Aw, you guys look so cold and scared. Here, make sure you share.

She says that last part while wrapping them all up in her magic cloak.

Luz: Now, stay in here, okay? We'll get you home safe and-

She was cut off upon hearing energy coming from the Golden Guard's staff.

Luz: So you're really gonna do this? You're just gonna hand all these innocent little guys over to Belos? We know what he does with them. I thought you might've been a good guy. But I guess that was just wishful thinking. You're not our friend, you're just the Golden Guard.

She said to which the Golden Guard's expression softens before removing his mask.

Golden Guard: My name is Hunter.

He says, surprising Luz before he gets hit in the head by a small blast of magic.

They looked to see that the blast came from a disoriented Kikimora.

Kikimora: You miscreants will pay for this! Attack!!

She yelled as the remaining conscious Coven members attacked the two.

Luz then looked to see Kikimora's beast whistle not too far away.

Luz then dives in for the whistle, using it to awaken the creature.

Luz uses her atomic breath to create a wall of fire, distracting the coven members long enough for her to lift the palismen nest and jump onto the dragon's saddle.

They then take off into the sky as Hunter was now alone to deal with Kikimora and the coven members.

Hunter was using everything he learned to hold them off, defeating a dozen coven scouts in the process.

But while he wasn't looking, he was blasted in the back by Kikimora, being sent hurdling to the ground.

Kikimora: I don't know who you are, but I will make sure you rot in the most vile cell the Conformatorium has to offer.

She says as Hunter groans in pain, the blast having burnt the back of his shirt and skin.

Hunter's fingers then dug into the dirt, gritting his teeth before letting out a growl and glaring at Kikimora with red reptilian eyes.

Hunter would open his mouth, blasting a golden beam which destroyed his mask, hitting Kikimora which caused an explosion as she hit a wall and fell unconscious.

Hunter's eyes widened, covering his mouth after the beam stopped firing as well as his eyes turning back to normal.

Hunter: What . . . what was . . . ?

He says, looking around to see that some of the coven members were starting to wake up.

He then quickly gets on his staff and flies away before anyone could see his now exposed face.

Meanwhile, Luz had returned the palismen to Hexside and made her way home, slumping into the bed earlier than in canon.

She only got 2 to 3 hours of sleep before being awakened by the sound of her window opening up suddenly.

Luz: Eda?!

Eda: I thought we'd find you here!

King: We could've used the door!

Luz: What the heck have you guys been up to?

She asks before Eda puts a little log in her lap.

Luz: Oh, wow. It's . . . a log.

Eda: It's Palistrom wood, ya ding-dong!

King: Now you can make your own palisman!

Luz: But how? Isn't this super rare?

Eda: Let's just say that the Bonesborough Garden Club-

King: Was robbed! By us!

He said as Eda gives her a thumbs up.

Luz: I . . . don't know what to say.

Eda: No pressure, but whenever you know what you want, we'll start carving.

Luz: If it's okay, I'll need some to think about it.

Eda: Eh, there's no rush. Just know that whatever you need from us, we gotcha.

Luz: Thanks.

She says with a smile.

We then go to the Emperor's Castle as Hunter reports back to Belos.

Emperor Belos: So, you return with nothing. Is this the thanks I get for taking you in?

Hunter: Of course not! I want to help! A-A-And if you told me how wild magic did this to you, I might be able to find a-

He was cut off upon Belos's left arm turning into a brown and green spike, just inches away from Hunter's right cheek.

Hunter: My apologies. I spoke out of turn. It won't happen again.

He said as Belos's arm returns to normal, groaning in pain.

Emperor Belos: These outbursts are painful and so is watching you fail. I know you can do better, Hunter. You may go now.

He says, to which Hunter exits the throne room.

Belos then heads to his private chambers, looking upon several glass vials each containing Luz's blood before taking one into his hand.

Emperor Belos: Truly remarkable . . . I believe I'm getting close to a breakthrough.

He says before using his staff to experiment with the radiated human/kaiju blood.
