Note: I DO NOT own The Owl House or Godzilla so don't report me, this is for entertainment purposes only. Also, this chapter is based off of Season 1, Episode 16. Episode 13 will be the same as in canon, the difference being that Luz uses her Kaiju powers to help the detention track students beat the Greater Basilisk. In episode 14, Luz uses her Kaiju powers to hold off the tiny monsters in the tiny circus before Eda helps them return to normal size. In episode 15, Luz uses her powers to fight off the inner Willow before finding out that Amity's parents forced her to stop being friends with Willow. With that out of the way, I hope you enjoy the chapter.

Luz was in the living room, practicing her plant glyphs. She was successful in creating a flower.

Luz: Yes! Check it out, King. My glyph skills are blossoming.

King: You think that's impressive? Check this out.

He says as they see him watch a video of two adorable cats.

Luz: I see we're getting enough Wi-Fi through the portal for cat videos.

King: Senseless violence. Yes, attack! Death is your god!

Luz: I regret teaching you about the internet.

King: Ha! What possible regrets could come from the internet? Oh, did you know that Earth is actually flat?

Luz: Like that for starters.

She says as Luz takes the phone from him. She then looks at her phone to see that she got a text from her mom asking how camp was for her.

Luz thought for a little bit before responding with a thumbs up emoji.

King: Ah, a severed hand. Perfect response.

Luz sighs before the door opens.

Hooty: Hoot, hoot, Luz! Time to fill up that darling little head of yours with . . .

He then spits books out his mouth.

Hooty: Knowledge.

Gus: Please hurry.

Willow: The more I look at him, the more uncomfortable I get.

Hooty: Hoot, hoot!

They said, making Luz chuckle before kissing King on the forehead.

Luz: Don't spend all day watching YouTube, okay?

King: I forge my own path!

He yells defiantly as Luz leaves.

Luz has just walked into Hexside along with Willow and Gus to see the school being decorated.

Luz: What's this all about?

Willow: Oh, yeah, I forgot you've never been here for the social event of the season.

Gus: This is for the upcoming Grom.

Luz: Grom? Like a party?

Willow: Mhm.

Luz: Huh, you know, in the human realm we have something similar called Prom. I was kicked out of my last school dance for dressing like Baragon. Maybe this year I can be your Grom Queen.

Gus: . . .

Willow: Um . . . that's not something people usually sign up for.

Suddenly, someone bumped into Luz as some items fell to the floor.

Amity: Watch it, nitwit! Oh. Hi, Luz and co. Sorry about that.

Luz: No problem. Let me help you.

She says, helping Amity with her stuff.

Luz: Here's your note.

Amity snatched it out of the human's grasp.

Luz: Wow, you got some quick grabbers.

Amity: It's just . . . it's . . . private . . .

They then listen to the school speakers going off.

Principal Bump: Attention, Hexside Students, this is your principal speaking.

Gus: Oh man, this is it.

Willow: He's announcing who will be this year's Grom royalty.

They said as everyone was left in suspense.

Principal Bump: This year, I have the privilege to bestow our highest Grom honor to . . . Amity Blight.

Luz: Yeah! Amity! Get it, Queen!

Luz cheered, holding her hand up to high five Amity.

She then realized no one was cheering and that Amity seemed upset.

Amity then ran away as Luz looked on.

Luz: Amity?

Willow: We should give her space. Being Grom Queen is a tough job, even for Amity.

Some time later, Principal Bump had a bunch of students organizing the decorations for the gym as Luz enters.

Luz: Ah, my first school dance experience on the Boiling Isles. I can't wait to get overdressed, take awkward photos and push all the buttons.

She says before noticing a red button.

Luz: Well, hello.

She says before pressing the button, making the floor open up to reveal an arena down below as well as weapons appearing.

Luz: Medieval torture seems like a strange theme for Grom. But hey.

Amity: They're not for decoration.

The teen says, sitting on the bleachers.

Amity: This arena's where I'll make my debut as Grom Queen.

Luz: Right. So why don't you seem excited?

Amity: Because this isn't just some dance party.

She says as they see some sort of black goo moving around in the arena.

Amity: That's Grom. Short for Grometheus, the Fear Bringer. Every year, it tries to break out of it's prison, and a student has to defeat it before it invades the town. Ever the optimist, Bump holds a party and calls it tradition. The worst thing is that Grom can read minds and shapeshift into your worst fears. And mine . . . is very embarrassing.

Luz: If it worries you so much, why don't you tell Principal Bump you want out of this death match biz? Unless facing Bump is your greatest fear . . .

Amity chuckled.

Amity: No, but that's a good idea. Thanks, Luz.

She says before walking out of the gym.

Luz then makes it home, Eda turning out to be chaperoning Grom tomorrow as the Owl Lady tried out some fancy clothes.

Luz then goes for a walk as it started getting dark.

Luz then hears footsteps in the brush, she quietly tip toes her way towards it before charging in head on.

She quickly stopped herself from punching Amity, but she failed to stop running as they both fell into a mud puddle.

Luz: Oh my gosh, Amity! I'm so sorry!

She said as she went over to help her up.

Amity: And here I thought this day couldn't get any worse.

Luz: Did you talk to Bump? Was it as terrifying as you imagined?

Amity sighs.

Amity: I talked to Bump, but he said no. I'm Grom Queen, unless I can find a replacement. But who'd wanna switch with me?

Luz: . . . I would.

Amity: What?

Luz: Amity Blight, I'll do it. I'll take your place and face Grom in the arena! I'll be your fearless champion!

She says before a huge spider crawls onto her face.

The teen panics as she rolls around with her face in the mud, killing the arachnid.

The next day, Luz was looking through a chest finding several outfits until Hooty appeared with his face right up against Luz's.

Hooty: Hey, Luz. You have a guest.

She shoos him away just before her bedroom door opens.

Luz: Hey, Amity.

Amity: If that bird tube ever talks to me again, I'm going to destroy it. You ready to train?

Luz: What do you think I should wear to Grom? This one says "Witch with a Dark Side", but this one says "I'm Baragon . . . with a Dark Side."

She says with a grin while holding a Baragon costume.

Amity: Luz, you need to take this seriously. If you can't defeat Grom, then everyone in the Isles will have to live out their worst nightmare.

Hooty: You wanna hear my worst nightmare?

He says with his face pressed up against Amity.

Amity then attacks Hooty with her nails and teeth as the owl tube, door, house thing starts hooting in pain.

Luz held her back and managed to get her to stop.

Some time later, Hooty was bandaged up while Luz was outside with Amity and the twins.

Amity: Grom will transform into your darkest fears. So what are you afraid of, Luz?

Luz: Hmm.

Edric: Wanna say our greatest fears on three? One . . . two . . . being alone forever.

Emira: Being stuck with you forever.

This made Edric a little sad.

Luz: In preparation, I've made a list.

She says, giving it to Amity.

The twins took a look at it, chuckling as they create illusion spells of Luz's "fears."

Such as jerks online who wanna debate, human souls trapped in cat bodies and milk, since she's lactose intolerant.

Amity: Not enough! The reason I can't face Grom, it goes deeper than things that just gross me out. What's your real fear, Luz?

Luz thought about it for a bit, but couldn't come up with anything.

So Amity and the twins just randomly try to guess her real fear for a while.

Unfortunately, they ran out of time as they all had to get ready for Grom.

The sun has set and the moon has risen.

It's Grom Night as everyone came dressed up and with their dates.

Amity was at the gym doors looking at the folded note in her hand.

Luz: Not sure if it's nerves or if I accidentally drank some milk, but something's making my stomach squirm.

Amity: You look nice. Strange, but nice. And thank you, Luz. Honestly, I'm kind of amazed with how fearless you are. You've done things I could never do.

Luz: Ha! Yeah, right! You going soft on me, Blight?

This made Amity laugh.

Amity: In your dreams.

They then look as they hear a microphone going off.

Gus: Now introducing our Grom Queen. You know her, you love her, you've at least heard about her . . . Luz, the human!

A spotlight came on, revealing Luz to the crowd as everyone cheers for her.

Luz: Wish me luck.

She said before heading inside the gym.

Amity: . . . Luck.

She says with sincerity and worry.

Gus then presses a button which opens the gym floors as well as raising two walls with a variety of weapons hanging from them.

But Luz didn't need weapons as she cracked her knuckles and stretched before heading down to the arena.

Grom appears, taking the forms of the things that gross her out.

Luz made short work of them by utilizing both her Kaiju powers and glyphs.

Luz: I can do this all night, Grom!

She said before Grom used one of his tendrils to touch Luz's forehead.

Grom then began take on a new form. Something large with ebony black skin, sharp teeth, claws, a tail and spikes on it's back.

Luz gasped as her eyes widened in surprise.

Luz: . . . Godzilla.

She said as Grom now looks exactly like Godzilla, albeit a much, much smaller version. About 10 feet tall to be precise.

Luz clenched her fists.

With Grom messing up Godzilla's size, she was more determined than anything else as she glares at him.

Grom lets out a roar, mimicking the Kaiju King perfectly.

Luz didn't falter, she stood her ground and growled as the two approached one another.

They then started sprinting, Grom aiming to scratch her with claws.

Luz ducked and uppercuts Grom, the monster stumbling back a bit.

Luz then charged towards Grom, hitting him with a left hook, followed by a right hook.

Grom then swings a tail at Luz, sending the teen flying, falling to the ground.

Luz's eyes shot open and immediately got up just as Grom was charging towards her.

Luz quickly kicks Grom in the gut followed by a punch to the face.

Grom then tackles Luz, sending her flying again as she gets knocked into one of the columns.

Luz sat up and sees Grom charging towards her.

She grasps a rock in her hand and upon waiting for the right moment, she smashes it into Grom's face.

Luz then tackles Grom, making him stumble a bit.

The monster then dug it's claws into Luz's back.

Amity gasped upon Luz's back oozing with blood.

Luz winced in pain but continued on the fight.

Everyone looked on in awe as Luz lifts Grom off the ground.

Luz lets out a yell before throwing Grom into one of the columns, breaking it in the process.

Grom was on it's side as Luz jumps onto the monster and proceeds to beat him down with her fists.

Luz wasn't holding anything back as she continued to pound her fists against the monster.

Grom then grabs Luz and shoves her off of him.

They both got up, glaring at one another.

Grom then lets out a roar, to which Luz follows with a battle cry.

They charged towards one another, Grom going in with a tail swipe.

Luz jumps over the tail, punching Grom in the face.

Grom then bites into Luz's arm to which Luz uses her other arm to punch Grom.

Grom's teeth sunk into her flesh even more as Luz grabs Grom by the head and throws him.

Luz then used her strength two large chunks of rock, one in each hand.

Just as Grom got up, she punches him with the rock like a boxing glove, shattering it.

She follows up with the other, shattering the rock against Grom's face.

The fear bringer has had enough as he headbutts Luz, sending her flying.

The teen dug her nails into the dirt, charging towards Grom.

Grom then let Luz hit him before scratching Luz's face with his claws.

Luz immediately puts her hand up to her face, feeling the blood now covering her hand.

This left her open for Grom to claw Luz's chest, blood oozing from the wounds.

Grom then bites Luz's head, lifts her up and throws her into a column.

Amity: Luz!

She yells, worried for the human's well being.

Some of the students looked away, not wanting to watch the bloodshed.

Luz was now on her knees as Grom grabs her and bites the teen's shoulder.

Luz screams in pain as she desperately tries to punch and kick the monster off of her.

Luz's eyes were closed shut, her teeth gritting as Grom's teeth started going deeper into her flesh.

Luz then opened her eyes, they were glowing purple now.

Luz then let out a yell as she unleashes her atomic energy with a Nuclear Pulse.

Everyone was blinded by a bright purple light as Grom roars in pain.

Eda: Luz! You okay down there?!

The Owl Lady yelled, worried for her apprentice.

The dust began to settle as Grom was no longer in the form of Godzilla.

Not only that, but he was just about the same size as King now.

Grom roars in agony as he can feel teeth sinking into him before being thrown to the ground.

Grom let out a gasp as Luz stomped a foot to the ground, glaring at Grom.

Her teeth were sharp, her nails had turned into claws and her eyes were now orange and reptilian, just like Godzilla's.

Grom roars in fear and started running.

Luz opens her mouth slightly as a purple light emanates from it.

Luz charges up her energy for a few seconds before firing an atomic breath.

But she intentionally missed Grom, hitting the ground right next to him instead.

Grom was sent flying to which Luz ran towards the monster, grabbing him and slamming him to the ground.

Luz then proceeded to kick Grom repeatedly before grabbing him, bringing the fear bringer up to her eye level.

Luz then opened her mouth wide, blasting him with a purple atomic breath, incinerating Grom into nothing.

Luz just stood there, breathing heavily as everyone was dead silent.

King: And there you have it, folks! A glorious death match for this year's Grom! Let's give a big hand to our Grom Queen, Luz Noceda!

He says before the school started cheering for Luz as the teen looks up to see everyone screaming and applauding.

They then run down into the arena, lifting her up and carrying her out.

Willow & Gus high five each other, laughing as they cheered for Luz.

Eda clapped for her student's victory while Amity smiled and waved at her.

Principal Bump then tapped his microphone before speaking.

Principal Bump: And now, students, it's time for the official Grom Dance. We've already witnessed an amazing performance this evening, but we remain true to our traditions. Miss Noceda, as Grom Queen, you may choose your dance partner.

Luz smiled as her claws became nails, her teeth no longer being sharp and her eyes returning back to normal.

Luz then walks up to a certain someone.

Luz: May I have this dance, Amity?

Amity was surprised by this as she blushed.

Amity: Y-You want to dance with me?

Luz: Why not?

She says with a smile.

Amity smiled back, taking Luz's hand as they headed to the gym's center.

They and everyone else started dancing with their Grom dates as the music started playing.

Amity: Are you okay though, Luz?

Luz: Yeah, my wounds have already regenerated.

She said as Amity realized it was true, it was as if all her injuries were never there.

Amity: So . . . this Godzilla you got your powers from was your biggest fear?

Luz: Not really. I'm more afraid of just thinking about fighting Godzilla.

Amity: Why would you do that?

Luz: In case I have no other choice. I mean, sure I beat Gromzilla over there. But against the real deal?

Luz chuckled.

Luz: I wouldn't stand a chance.

Amity: Right . . .

Luz: But enough Kaiju talk. Let's just enjoy Grom together, Amity.

Amity: Y-Yeah, let's have a good time.

She says with a blush on her cheeks as the two continued their dance.

Some time later, Luz posed for a picture, she then brought in Amity, Willow & Gus for a group photo.

Soon enough, it was time for Luz to go as she said her goodbyes to Willow, Gus & Amity before leaving with Eda & King.

They then made it to the Owl House as Luz changed into her pajamas, texted her mom and fell asleep.
