What if dementors could cast Patronus? (Different format) Moony0Moonie
First of all, Why? Patronuses are made to ward off dementors, like the title says, it's suicide.

Second, if it didn't drive them off, the patronuses would have not purpose, because its very purpose has been stripped from it. (Dementors can't talk, so they can't send messages either.)

Lastly, no sane dementor would cast a spell that causes it's own species (therefore itself) to get warded off (I don't know how to phrase that) and if it was insane, where in Merlin's very underwear would they get a wand to cast it? Cause as far as I know, dementors don't even have magic. They are magical creatures, but don't possess magic itself.
