Chapter 4

It seemed his cameo in the drama worked, because soon he got another offer.

He had politely declined, due to the fact that he was already overloaded, what with EXO coming out with a mini album soon as well as him being the MC of a new talk show. He also had a large number of photoshoots and other appearances and he didn't want to overburden himself, because the last time he took on too many things at once, he had ended up in the hospital.

He spent his time mostly at the studio, going over the new music with Chanyeol. Just like he predicted, Chanyeol had been put under house arrest while the CEO took care of things. However, he was still allowed in group appearances and Junmyeon had personally campaigned with the CEO to allow him in the studio, due to the fact that he was the one in charge of writing the raps.

And one fateful day, not long after the second round of the scandal, Junmyeon felt himself starving. With a quick look at his watch he realized that he had completely skipped lunch.

So the leader put on his coat, a mask and a black cap and went over to the convenience store near the SM Headquarters.

The store clerk happily greeted him when he entered, and he flashed a smile from behind his mask. Even though he was in disguise, the clerk had already recognized him. Of course, they had frequented this convenience store since they were trainees, and Junmyeon had been coming here the longest.

"Any specific reason you came here today?" the clerk asked him.

"I skipped lunch," he chuckled. He'd known this particular clerk since he debuted, so he could talk informally with him.

The clerk pointed to the back rows. "Ramyun is towards the back. Help yourself."

"Thanks," Junmyeon gratefully said before taking off to find his ramyun.

His ramyun found, watered and left to cook for two minutes, Junmyeon snapped his chopsticks and got ready to dig in. Just then, he noticed the TV placed in the store, turned to the news channel. He spent his two minutes watching the news, tutting in his mind when it was revealed that a company employee was found guilty of creative accounting.

His meal ready, he placed his chopsticks inside the container and took out a swab of noodles, but before he could put them in his mouth, his attention was brought back to the TV when he heard the word "EXO".

His attention turned back to the TV, and he nearly balked when up on there was a photo of Chanyeol with the caption "EXO's Chanyeol rumored to switch companies?"

He dropped the noodles back into the container, turning his chair so that he was fully facing the screen.

"Boy group EXO's rapper Park Chanyeol is rumored to be leaving SM Entertainment. Fans say they have spotted the artist leaving CUBE Entertainment's building. This was just after the group's performance on Show! Music Core. Fans are speculating that the artist may have been there to visit his rumored girlfriend who is an idol there. Even though the agency has released statements saying that Park Chanyeol has not been dating the CUBE Entertainment idol, fans are seemingly not convinced. However, other fans have begun to speculate that the artist was in talks with CUBE Entertainment's CEO about leaving his company. This also entails that he will also leave EXO. Neither companies have released an official statement yet."

He felt the clerk's eyes burning into his back, but Junmyeon couldn't take his eyes off the reporter, who was talking to a couple of fans about the incident. He got up, his hunger replaced by a cold sinking feeling, like he was going down in an elevator, except ten times faster.

He ran out of the store and back to the headquarters, bursting into the studio where Chanyeol was seated in the same position since he left, silently strumming his guitar. He seemed shocked at his senior bursting in with the kind of force Junmyeon had, now standing there heaving and panting.

"Hyung," Chanyeol said. "What's wrong?"

"Are you switching companies?" Junmyeon asked breathlessly.

The light haired man seemed taken aback at his leader's sudden question. "Uh...no...no...where did that come from?"

Junmyeon panted, trying to regain his breath. "It's all over the news," he said.

Chanyeol's eyes widened. "What?"

"How the hell did you end up at CUBE Entertainment when I've had my eye on you all this time?" Junmyeon yelled out, startling Chanyeol. Luckily, the studio was soundproof so they didn't attract too much attention from the trainees.

"Me? At CUBE Entertainment?" Chanyeol asked, wide eyed.

"Yes, you, at CUBE Entertainment," Junmyeon said. "Care to explain?"

"Hyung!" Chanyeol stood up. "I've not been to CUBE Entertainment! We went there together, remember? With the rest of the members? You asked me to go and get something from the store so I did!"

Junmyeon continued to pant. "I should've known sending you off alone anywhere was a bad idea," he panted. "But I don't know how we'll get out of this one."

Chanyeol looked at him, worry seeping into his eyes. "What do we do now, hyung?" His voice rose when another thought struck him. "Am I going to be kicked out of EXO?"

"I...I...I don't know," Junmyeon admitted.

He hated this situation. It wasn't like the other events where the female idol was involved. No, this one happened right on his watch. Even though their alibi was tight, this had blown up way beyond his own control.

He hated that he couldn't give Chanyeol hope. He hated that he couldn't comfort him, tell him that everything would be fine, because he was most likely going to be kicked out of the group.

And all because of him.

Because of him, once more, his family would be torn apart.

The door to the studio opened and both idols turned to see their manager. He had an equally crest-fallen face, as if he knew one of his kids was going to leave once more.

He took a deep breath. "The CEO wants to see Chanyeol."

Junmyeon grabbed his manager's arm. "I'll go, hyung."

Manager Hwang looked at him. "You? But the CEO wanted to see Chanyeol."

"It's my fault," Junmyeon said. "I'll go see the CEO."

Manager Hwang paused for a moment, unease in his steps before giving a slight nod and walking out of the room. Junmyeon turned around to the shocked Chanyeol standing like a statue.

"Hyung..." Chanyeol said.

Junmyeon gave him a weak smile. "Don't worry," he assured. "I'll take care of this. You just stay here and focus on the song. Leave everything to me."

He didn't give the younger idol time to react, choosing instead to just turn and close the door behind him. Once outside, he took a deep breath before collecting himself and following his manager.

When he stepped into the CEO's office though, he noticed right away that this wasn't normal. They had a guest.

The CEO of CUBE Entertainment was paying them a visit.

Both the CEOs were sitting across from each other on the sofas to the side of the office. They both turned to see who had come in, standing up to greet Junmyeon when he entered.

Junmyeon bowed. "Hello, President Lee, you called?"

"I did call," President Lee said. "But not you. I called Chanyeol."

The idol didn't seem fazed, instead turning to the other suited man. "President Park, it's been a while."

"It certainly has been, Suho-shi," President Park said.

Junmyeon turned back to his agency's CEO. "President Lee," he started. "I've come on Chanyeol's behalf."

President Lee sat back down and gestured to his guest to sit down as well. Junmyeon still continued. "I know Chanyeol's scandals have gone out of control, but the last one, this one, this was my fault. We were at CUBE Entertainment's building meeting BEAST and I asked Chanyeol to get me something from the store."

He bowed. "It was my fault, and I'll take responsibility for this. Whatever punishment you would give to Chanyeol, please give it to me." His voice began to grow in desperation. "I'll do anything you ask. But please, whatever you do, don't kick Chanyeol out of EXO. Please don't."

President Lee was silent for a while. "Then would you leave EXO in Chanyeol's stead?" he slowly asked.

Junmyeon opened his mouth to answer "Yes" but paused. His thoughts flew back to the rest of his members, their reactions when one by one, their brothers left. Their family was torn apart and they had gone through too much of it.

Could he still leave knowing they'd be unable to handle him leaving them as well?

He shook his head. "I don't think we can handle any more members leaving," he said.

President Lee stayed silent. Just then, President Park spoke up. "Well, we were going to call you in anyway," he told Junmyeon before turning back to President Lee. "President Lee, about our arrangement...?"

"Ah yes, the arrangement," President Lee exclaimed.

"Arrangement?" Junmyeon wondered out loud.

President Lee turned back to the young idol. "Your member's scandal has been affecting both of our companies badly," he explained. "We can clean up the mess, but the eyes of the pubic are too focused on this. We need to take attention away from Chanyeol's scandal first."

"And how are we going to do that?" Junmyeon asked.

"That's where you come in, Suho-shi," President Park piped in. "We need a news-making scandal to cover up another news-making scandal."

Junmyeon narrowed his eyes. "Where is this going?"

Just then, a knock sounded on the door. "Come in," President Lee called.

In walked the last person he expected to see in a situation like this.

Jung Eunji.

President Park smiled. "Suho-shi, I want you and my Eunji-ah to be in a relationship."

***

A/N: This is getting good now.

And to clear up any more confusions, President Lee is the CEO of SM Entertainment and President Park is the CEO of CUBE Entertainment, the agency which APink is under.

There isn't some big conspiracy going on, if you're wondering. From here on out, the story will shift to focus more on Eunji and Suho and less on a person leeching off of Chanyeol's fame.

Get ready for the ride!
