Chapter 33 [END]
Eunji paced in the room. "He is coming, isn't he? Of course, he is. But what if his flight's delayed? It wouldn't be delayed, what's there to delay?"
"Eunji-shi, can you calm down?" Taeyeon asked her.
Eunji paused in the pace and turned around to the older woman. "Huh?"
"We're all waiting for them, you know," Taeyeon pointed out.
Eunji sighed. "I know," she said, sitting down on the couch. "It's just..."
"It's been a while since you saw each other," Taeyeon guessed.
Eunji silently nodded her head. Taeyeon gave a dreamy sigh. "Ah, to be young and in the honeymoon phase again..."
Eunji playfully batted her arm. "Stop it! It's been around seven months since we started dating."
"Six of which he's been on tour for," Taeyeon cut in.
Eunji leaned back against the headboard of the couch. "I know, Unnie," she said. "I just...don't know how I should be reacting."
Taeyeon chuckled lightly. "You do it like the rest of us do," she said, "just do it."

Due to an overwhelming number of fans who'd taken to blocking the airport gates to welcome EXO, the boys would be taken out through a different entrance at the back of the airport. Eunji and Taeyeon (Soojung couldn't make it since she had a recording) and a few of their family members would be there to welcome them.
She made small talk with the older mothers, laughing along as they related hilarious tales of their sons' mischief, both pre and post debut.
Just then, the announcement that their flight had landed came over the speaker.
She perked up, unconsciously adjusting the sleeve of her blouse. Calm down, Eunji, she told herself. It's going to take some time for him to collect his luggage and then come.
Easier said than done.
After around a thirty minute wait, the passengers began disembarking and moving towards the main exit. She could see a prominent look of dislike on their faces when they spotted the massive number of fans outside, and she was glad they were coming on a different route.
And finally, finally, EXO arrived.
The nine members walked out with their managers and a couple of security guards to guide them the right way. They were all carrying bags, with a couple of them pushing trolleys loaded with everyone's suitcases.
They all looked different, having probably lost weight with all the travelling and performing, and they'd also changed their hair, well, except Kyungsoo, who still wore his messy dark brown bangs.
She then spotted him in the middle of the group, pushing a trolley with three suitcases and his bag over his shoulder. He'd lost weight, but not so much that he looked unhealthy, he just looked exhausted. He was wearing a pair of sunglasses, which she knew was to probably hide the eye bags he'd gotten from the constant moving around and the lack of sleep due to jet lag. He'd changed his hair, dyeing it black and cutting it shorter, his bangs pushed up and to the side in a quiff.
He looked different, but at the same time, the same.
The members were led over to where they were waiting near the back exit, and when he spotted her, his face brightened up instantly and he waved.
While the others met up with the people there to welcome them he moved over to her.
"Hey," he said. "It's been a while."
She nodded, a little awkwardly as she wasn't quite sure how to react. "Welcome back, Junmyeon."
"Is that it?" he grinned.
Chuckling, she wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him. "Welcome home," she mumbled into his neck.
"It's good to be back," he said, giving her a light squeeze before pulling away.
"You changed your hair," he noticed.
Due to a recent comeback, her hair had also needed a change. Her hair was shorter, shoulder length, a light caramel brown and her bangs were gone, her hair now in loose waves.
"U-uh...yeah..." she stuttered. "We had a comeback."
"It suits you," he said, taking a lock of her hair in his fingers. "Hell, what am I saying? You look good in everything."
And there it went, feeling like a freaking high school girl with a crush. She was a grown woman, for God's sake!
Well, he really wasn't helping either.
He chuckled. "Let's go," he said, gesturing with his head to the exit.

Having a rare day off due to the amazing work they put in during the tour, each of the members had made plans and none were planning on returning till morning.
Jongdae and Minseok accompanied Sehun for an all night street food binge (it was just calories, they could always just lose the weight!), Kyungsoo visited a movie theater to watch a couple of movies back to back, Jongin and Baekhyun made plans with their girlfriends and Yixing...well...no one really knew where he went, but they did know it may have involved fried chicken.
With the dorm to themselves, Junmyeon and Eunji took the chance to have a classic night in, with blankets, popcorn and movies. However, instead of cheesy romantic ones, they'd been in the mood for Jackie Chan films.
So here they were, blankets wrapped up till their waist, a massive tub of popcorn sitting in front of them while she cuddled up to his side (while watching Jackie beat up a group of thugs, why not?) and their sodas on the arms of the couch. They absentmindedly reached for the popcorn and popped the kernels into their mouths as the weird buddy comedies went on.
"Hey," she suddenly said, a thought striking her.
"Hm?" he asked, looking down at her.
"Have you thought about what it means for us?" she asked.
"Have I thought about what?"
"Everything." She gestured with her free hand at the dark room.
He chuckled lightly. "And to think it all began with a contract," he laughed.
She laughed along. "I know, I honestly never thought it'd become like this," she admitted. "But what's next?"
"For what?"
"For us," she clarified. "Where do we go from here? Do we get more intimate? Do we separate?"
"You know we can't actually know what's in our futures, right?" he asked.
She nodded. "I do, but..."
He wrapped his arm around her shoulders and pulled her a bit closer. "Honestly, I haven't thought that far ahead," he admitted.
"You haven't?"
He shook his head. "I've lived my entire life in the future, always thinking about every single possible outcome, every single possibility, every single probability. I'm honestly tired of it. I want to try something new."
She cuddled up to him, placing a hand on his chest. "And that is?"
"I'm going to start living in the present," he said.
"And what does that mean for us?"
"It means, I have no idea what's going to happen to us in the future. I don't know whether we'll break up or stay together or whether we'll even take it to the next level. All I know is, where we are now, I'm happy."
