Jeremy and Michael were chatting away while Squip silently sat in the back.
"So, like, can it hear me?" Michael asked. Jeremy nodded and hummed in agreement.
"But I think 'it' would prefer 'he' 'him' pronouns," Jeremy said. Squip smiled.
"Thanks, you walnut!" Squip happily said. Jeremy couldn't help but smile. The Squip was just too damn cute.
"No problem, tiny potato," Jeremy replied. Michael rolled his eyes.
"Aww, you already gave him a nickname. How cute." Michael sarcastically said.
"Tell him that he's still your best friend," Squip said. Jeremy put his hand on Michael's shoulder.
"You know you're still my best friend." He said. Squip gave him thumbs up.
"Shoulder touch! Nice." Squip said. Jeremy almost laughed. Michael's face was a little red.
"Well... I wish I could see it- I mean- him. Then I could get in on conversations with you two." Michael said. Jeremy thought for a moment. Squip, of course, knew what he was thinking and didn't like it.
What if Michael got a Squip of his own? Would that work?
"Theoretically speaking... it could. But I must warn you, not all Squips are like me. Most are out for power and glory. I'm here to give you helpful suggestions. That's what we Squips were originally created for. Somewhere along the way, though... the programming got worse. I was one of the first Squips created." He told Jeremy.
"But it could work?" He asked. Squip nodded.
"But I would really not suggest it. I know you like Michael. If he got a Squip of his own... he might not be your Michael anymore. Unless he gets very, very, lucky. Like you did." Squip informed.
"Jeremy? What might work?" Michael asked.
"...Nothing." Jeremy decided to say. Squip sighed in relief. He knows how much Michael means to Jeremy, and how much Jeremy would be crushed if Michael left him.
Of course, Jeremy being the walnut he is, Jeremy doesn't even realise he has feelings for the boy. He thinks he likes Christine. His thoughts about him going on a date with her are literally what he and Michael do all the time.
Video games, discussing random things they've read on the internet, going to the mall to hang out, getting dinner together, and sharing a blanket while eating popcorn and watching horror movies.
They got to Michael's house and then got some food. Jeremy retold the embarrassment of the mall. He expected Michael to laugh, but he didn't.
"Well, I would've made the same mistake. Why would they even approach you in the first place? And so what if they thought you were going to get a girl shirt? It would be your choice anyway. I can't promise that they won't make fun of you, but I can promise that I won't abandon you." Michael assured.
"How did I get so lucky to be your friend?" Jeremy asked. Mostly to himself.
"You and I both know we're not friends. We're BEST FRIENDS!" Michael yelled as he threw his food in Jeremy's face. Jeremy laughed and threw some more food at Michael. Pretty soon, they were both having a full-on food fight. Squip was giving helpful advice for Jeremy during it.
"Dodge!"
"Run to the left!"
"You could probably catch that chip with your mouth if you believe in yourself."
The war ended when Jeremy slipped on some spilt milk and landed on his face. The two were laughing, even though Jeremy had a nose bleed.
"That was awesome!" Michael and Squip said at the same time. Jeremy giggled a little bit. Michael and Squip would really get along well together.
"Are we going to play video games or what?" Jeremy asked. Michael nodded his head.
"Of course, but right now you're bleeding out your nose and we need to fix that," Michael said. Michael got a bag of frozen peas and gave it to Jeremy to hold on his nose. After a bit, the bleeding stopped.
"Better?" Michael asked.
"Tell him 'not yet. But maybe a kiss will make it better.' He'll kiss you I just know it." Squip said.
"Yes, I'm better. Thanks, man." Jeremy said. Michael linked his arm with Jeremy's and ran into the basement. When they were done playing video games, it was much too late for Jeremy to go home, so they decided to just have a sleepover.
"Yes! This is great! You can confess your love tonight! It's perfect!" Squip squealed. Jeremy rolled his eyes.
I don't like him like that, you weirdo. Jeremy thought, though his face was red and was kind of smiling.
"Mmm-hmm. And I'm not a computer." Squip sarcastically said. Jeremy threw a pillow at Squip, but it just phased right through him.
"Jeremy, what the fuck," Michael said. Jeremy started laughing.
"I kinda forgot Squip was only in my head so I threw a pillow at him," Jeremy said nervously.
"Well, I know he probably wants to hit you with a pillow, but since he can't..." Michael grabbed a pillow and threw it at Jeremy, knocking him over. Jeremy glared at him.
"So, I can't find the air mattress, so you have two choices: Sleep on the floor with only a blanket and pillow, or you could sleep in the bed with me. It's big enough for two people, so... whatever you want."
"You should sleep next to him, Jeremy! Then you could cuddle and- oh! This'll be so cute!" Squip squealed. Jeremy thought for a moment.
"I guess I'll sleep on the same bed," Jeremy said.
"YES!!!" Squip screamed. Jeremy rolled his eyes and jumped on the bed.
"Um, excuse me, sir. I haven't finished making the bed." Michael said. Jeremy shrugged.
"Your point?"
Michael glared at him and pushed him off.
"Okay, that was rude," Jeremy mumbled. Squip giggled and helped Jeremy stand up. When Michael finished making the bed, the two laid down, trying to go to bed. But they kept laughing at random things.
Squip smiled. The two were so cute together! Squip, well, he knew that Michael had feelings for Jeremy and that Jeremy was denying his feelings for Michael.
Squip decided he'll do whatever he can to get those two together.
They deserve it.
For now, the two needed to sleep. Tomorrow was a big day, after all. Well, that's not true, but they did have school, and who knew what was going to happen?
