Dark Horse vs Image Comics, when two king of hell encounters each other, only one can earn the title as the true spawn of the devil

Toomi: Anung un Rama, also known as Hellboy,

Megumi: And Al Simmons, the Hellspawn or just Spawn,

Toomi: These two demonic creatures have a knack of fighting and killing superpowered creatures of the supernatural,

Megumi: And they have a cool demon killing weapons to do it! She's Sachi, Toomi and I'm Megumi.

Sachi: And it's our job to analyse their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.

Hellboy brings his Right Hand of Doom down into What if Battles

<Cue: Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple>

Toomi: Demons are usually associated for being vile and committing acts of wickedness, but in fiction there's plenty of demons on the good side.

Megumi: And this includes the half-demon Britain Defender, Hellboy. However while being a demonic force for good, he was the son to Sarah Hughes and the demon Azzael

Toomi:  But, that came at quite the price. As Sarah died before her soul was changed to darkness due to finding intimacy in the summoned Azzael, and her human children were killed by the demon. But Azzael swore that within her body still remained a spiritual son, which would incarnate and fall to earth.

Sachi: And that wasn't too far off, as in 1944 their child Anung Un Rama was summoned forth by Grifory Effimovich Rasputin. And was rescued by the allied troops in World War II. And he ended up getting raised by Professor Broom, the founder of BPRD

Professor Broom: It's a boy!

Soldier: It's just a baby boy!

Toomi:  Rama would then develop his powers before becoming what he would be known as Hellboy. Even though he was destined to become the bringer of the apocalypse, he would become a real hero.

Sachi: With his demon heritage, Hellboy possesses incredible superhuman strength, able to uproot and throw massive trees, and break through stone. Sometimes breaking through entire walls.

Megumi: And he's also extremely durable, able to survive multiple impalements, savagely beaten by large monsters on several occasions. And he's once directly charged an MG-42 machine gun, taking numerous bullets to the chest before destroying the gun.

Toomi: And on top of that, Hellboy's immune to fire, and resistant to electricity. As once he was electrocuted with enough juice to "light up Hamburg" and took it without a problem.

Megumi: But his greatest strength is his arsenal, which consists of a gun called The Great Samaritan, a large four-round revolver which fires custom-made bullets. And it's able to pierce through any material

Toomi: And along with that, he's got a rocket launcher called the Big Baby. No, really, that's what it's called. It's an oversized six-round rocket launcher, which shoots small rockets. And the small rockets have the words "suck on this" on the side of the cartridges

Sachi: He also has a sword called Excalibur, a legendary sword wielded by King Arthur, which seems to have magical properties. And it's been able to slay Nimue's champion

Toomi: But if that's not enough short-ranged combat Hellboy has his signature Right Arm of Doom. A gauntlet-like indestructible right hand which was grafted onto Hellboy when he was born, Hellboy's rather adept to this and it makes for a useful melee weapon

Megumi:  Hellboy has been able to slaughter giants, take on Assassins, Ghosts, Mythical Entities, Deities, other demons and even children who manifest their spirits into beings

Sachi: And he's able to take on an entire army of skeletons, one shot a dinosaur, and single handedly murdered a bunch of guys. And remember how we said that Hellboy was destined to be the bringer of the apocalypse? That's because he's able to tap into the Full Prince of Hell

Toomi:  In this state, Hellboy's physical attributes skyrocket due to him bringing out his demonic powers to their fullest potential. As he's able to unlock the door to armageddon, but Hellboy becomes a ruthless monster and despite him being able to dissipate this while sacrificing his new found power in the process, he does not accept this part of him

Megumi: So, if he's not gonna kill us, then what is that right hand good for then? It looks heavy to wield around.

Toomi: Actually, Hellboy is quite nimble with it; even able to catch a fly. And despite being a big guy, Hellboy's still pretty fast. He's quick enough to dodge and go toe to toe with speedy monsters.

Feats

Prevented the apocalypse on many occasions, fighting numerous demons and deities.

Can break through brick walls

One shot a dinosaur

Toomi: And with Hellboy's slow aging, he has racked up a lot of experience fighting monsters and gaining vast knowledge on different creatures and their weaknesses. He's basically a walking encyclopedia, easily recognizing and learning various spells, enchantments, curses, hexes, and charms.

Megumi: And the fact he is a descendant of King Arthur, that makes him worthy of lifting Excalibur. The sword that was stuck in stone that no one can pull out.

Toomi: But he does have some apparent weaknesses, he has a short temper, apparently letting it get the best of him.

Hellboy: What's my flaw?!

Johann: Your temper! It gets the best of you. Makes you weak. Makes you vulnerable...

<Shows footage of Hellboy punching Johann's suit, destroying it as Johann's ectoplasmic body seeps out.>

Sachi: And while Hellboy's healing factor is extremely useful, it doesn't always save him as there were times he can still can pierced by weapons or getting injured from physically stronger opponents.

Weakness

Originally subjected to any enchantment that uses his real name

Half-Demon nature allows certain powerful holy spells to damage him

Toomi: And despite his healing factor and immortality, Hellboy actually can still die. After defeating the Blood Queen Nimue, in a final act before her death, the witch actually ripped Hellboy's heart from his chest, killing him.

Sachi: But  even after his death, Hellboy proceeded to battle and destroy nearly all the demons in hell. And with his true form, he even defeated the likes of Leviathan and Behemoth. Which in a way, he did fulfilled his destiny, but just brought the end of the world down to hell.

Megumi: And that's why you shouldn't mess with the rightful crown of Hell and England, who continues to defy his destiny of bringing Earth's destruction

Hellboy: Well! Why don't you just start with me? Your Royal Assness.

Spawn chains into What if Battles

<Cue: Stricken by Disturbed>

Toomi: Al Simmons was a skilled assassin. He proved time and time again that he was the best of the best. But until his morality got the better of him, his boss terminated his contract permanently.

Megumi: The boss killed him when he terminated his contract sent him into the hell; he met the demon Malebolgia, who made a deal with him. If Al agreed to become captain of hell's army, he would be reborn to see his wife again.

Sachi: He agreed and was reborn as a Hellspawn. But eventually, the demon-lord tricked him, and Spawn was left with a fate far worse than death. And after that he wants revenge.

Toomi: After his resurrection process, Spawn's body is composed of Necroplasm, a will-controlled magical substance. It alters his physical appearance and allows him to use his body as a living weapon by endowing him with superhuman powers of strength, bodily density and weight, healing factor, and metabolism.

Megumi: And all of that is possible thats to a symbiotic suit. And no, it's not Venom.

Sachi: Leetha of the 7th House of K is a symbiotic suit only limited by imaginations for this spawn can create Chains, Spikes, Claws, Shrouds, Swords and more.

Toomi:  Spawn's had a pretty impressive resume over the years. He ripped apart a nuclear android, survived 600,000 volts of electricity, survived atmospheric re-entry, and once dodged a point-blank range shot from the Redeemer. Who was fast enough to fly from Tunisa to New York in 2 Minutes and 22 Seconds.

Sachi: Spawn's own reaction-time and speed has been calculated to be around 1/10th The Speed of Light. He also survived holding something as hot and heavy as the sun. For the record, our own sun weighs 2 Octillion Tons and is about 10 Million Degrees Fahrenheit. This actually makes sense as Spawn is said to be able to survive an attack that would destroy a sun.

Megumi: And he can even be every person's worst nightmare. You hit a child, he brands you. You act racist, he changes your skin colour. No sin ever goes unpunished when you come face to face with this Hellspawn.

Completely heals Terry's inoperable brain tumor. Expending such an amount of magic at once sent Spawn to Hell temporarily.

Heals Batman from the brink of death

Heals Twitch after he was shot in the head. In doing so, he gave Twitch a "six sense" allowing him to find Spawn whenever necessary. The same was shown with Granny Burke, whose brief time in the "Dead Zone" with Spawn gave her the ability to see spirits.

Warps away from a group of soldiers. The teleportation is said to occur "at the speed of light".

Warps a short distance away from Overtkill

"Plays Alien" by teleporting inside an opponent and bursting out

Teleports away from Redeemer. This is the first time Spawn mentions that teleporting is painful.

Teleports himself and Chapel out of Youngblood HQ. This shows Spawn doesn't need contact to teleport them with him.

Can avoid the cost teleportation brings upon his magic by turning into a small wisp

Holds absolute control over a Universal Dimension of Hell

Has the powers of the Green World, being capable of controlling nature at will, forming forests, creating storms, tsunamis & Earthquakes, etc.

Toomi: But Spawn's greatest achievement is defeating both God and Satan where he then gotten God's powers and became God himself.

Megumi: Damn, what would I do to get a suit like his!

Toomi: However, Al Simmons is not without his fair share of weaknesses. He can be killed by decapitation and is weak to Holy Weapons that were forged in heaven.

Sachi: And his necroplasm though powerful, is finite as he has a metre that decreases each time he uses it, forcing him to rely more on his own combat skills, weapons and his suit's natural abilities.

Megumi: Though after coming back from the dead, Al ain't so pretty to look at anymore. No wonder his wife left him. That's kinda sad.

Toomi: But Spawn's biggest weakness is his life where he knew nothing but betrayal, having been betrayed by everyone he knew, his former boss, Malebolgia, pretty much everyone he knew.

Sachi: Also, if he uses too much of his necroplasam, he can be sent back to hell.

Megumi: But considering the number of entities he has killed, the things he survived and his Godhood, good luck trying to get a shot-in on this guy.

Man: What are you prepared to do?

Spawn: I pledge everything I owned. Everything I have left. My heart included. I want my humanity back.

Toomi: Alright, the combatants are set, let's end this debate once and for all.

Sachi: Don't forget to vote, comment what you think of the fight.

Megumi: Yeah, but right now, it's time for a Death Battle!

Fight

Church

Inside an empty church, Hellboy walks through the array of chairs, smoking his cigarette as he steps toward the altar.

Up on the ceiling, a dark figure looms over him, watching his every move.

Adjusting his cigarette, Hellboy spoke out.

Hellboy: Come out. I know you are there.

The figure obeys, leaping down from the top of the ceiling, his red cape flowing as he lands feet first onto the ground.

His eyes glowing green in the dark, the figure rose, facing Hellboy from across the church.

He is Spawn, the demon hunter.

Spawn faces Hellboy as he growls.

Spawn: What's your problem?

Hellboy loads his revolver as he spoke:

Hellboy: Let's just say the professional's concerned.

Spawn: Anyone I kill, is asking for it.

Spawn declares out, prompting Hellboy to sigh.

Hellboy: Don't say I didn't warn ya.

Announcer: Fight!

<Cue: Face Off by The Rock>

Hellboy points his revolver at Spawn, opening fire at the King of Hell to which Spawn responded by swinging his chains, deflecting the bullets with it.

BANG!!! CLANK!!! BANG!!! CLANK!!! BANG!!!

Spawn then pulls out his machine gun, opening fire at Hellboy.

BANG!!! BANG!!! BANG!!!

Hellboy runs to the back, jumping behind the array of chairs to take cover from the onslaught.

Hellboy then grabs a chair and throws it at Spawn who instantly destroys it with a gunshot.

BANG!!!

Spawn looks up, his eyes widens in shock as Hellboy lunges out, throwing a punch with his Right Hand of Doom.

POW!!!

Spawn fell back from the impact of the punch, green blood splurting from his face as Hellboy races towards him.

Spawn then launches himself up into the air, summoning multiple chains up which began coiling around Hellboy's body.

Hellboy: Wah!

Spawn then swings the chains down, slamming Hellboy hard onto the nearby organ.

CRASH!!!

Spawn then lands feet first across Hellboy, staring at the stirring demon as he growls.

Spawn: Get forked.

Hellboy pushes himself up, spittting out a tooth as he said.

Hellboy: You sick piece of crap!

Hellboy pulls out his revolver, shooting Spawn straight in the face.

BANG!!!

Spawn: ARGHHHHH!!!

As Spawn recoils in pain, Hellboy then pulls out his rocket launcher, pointing it at Spawn as he says to him.

Hellboy: You're going down.

BOOM!!!

An explosion booms across the church, followed by a burning figure of Spawn crashing out of the window.

CRASH!!!

Outside

As Spawn stood up, extinguishing the fire off his body with his cape, Hellboy jumps out, carrying the sword  Excalibur with him.

Hellboy: Had enough yet, pal?

Spawn: We're not finished yet.

Hellboy: This crap's getting old.

As Hellboy prepares to finish Spawn off with his sword, Spawn summons a couple of blades, parrying Hellboy strikes with his newly acquired weapons.

CLANG!!! CLANG!!! CLANG!!!

Hellboy swings his sword, only for Spawn to disappear, dodging the attack.

FWOOM!!!

Spawn then reappears behind Hellboy, wrapping the demon's neck with his chain before clenching his fist, charging up a sphere of necroplam before sending a blast of it right onto Hellboy.

THOOM!!!

Hellboy: ARGHHHHH!!!

Hellboy screams out in agony as Spawn jumps up, brandishing a huge mass of guns before unloading a barrage of bullets down onto him.

BANG!!! BANG!!! BANG!!!

As Hellboy continues getting overwhelmed by the sheer amount of bullets, Spawn charges up a powerful sphere of necroplasm before slamming it down hard onto Hellboy.

BOOM!!!

Spawn then grabs onto the dazed Hellboy, hellfire burning around the two demon hunters as Spawn sinks below the ground, dragging Hellboy down into hell.

FWOOSH!!!

Netherrealm

<Cue: Inside The Fire by Disturbed>

Down in Hell, a burst of flames exploded as Spawn and Hellboy falls to the side, with Spawn landing feet first on the ground while Hellboy lands back first.

THOOM!!!

Hellboy: Ngn.

Hellboy grunts as he pushes himself up, looking back and forth, cursing upon realising where he is now.

Hellboy: Damn,

Spawn: Welcome to Hell.

Hellboy: Like I haven't heard that one before.

Spawn: You think you can take me?!

Hellboy: I was planning to use my giant stone fist. But now, you're goin' down.

FWOOM!!!

Hellboy thrusts his hands out, his sword engulfing in flames as his horns grew as well.

Now becoming the Destroyer of All Things, Hellboy's own strength has increase tenfolds as he lunges upwards, slamming both his hooved legs right into Spawn.

WHAM!!!

Hellboy then swings his sword several times, cutting Spawn across his body.

SLASH!!! SLASH!!! SLASH!!!

He then used his left hand to hold his sword, his right hand to grab Spawn by the neck before plunging the blade into his chest.

SHOK!!!

Hellboy then pulls out his grenade, shoved it right into Spawn before tossing him over his shoulder, watching just as Spawn's entire body go off in a fiery explosion.

KABOOM!!!

With his opponent seemingly defeated, Hellboy pulls out his cigarette, lighting it up with his hell fire as he spat.

Hellboy: Monsters here ain't worth crap.

However, this fight is still far from over.

As the smoke clears, something rose from the ground, attracting Hellboy's attention.

Hellboy: Hm?

Hellboy turns around, his eyes widens as he saw a flashing burning green silhouette approaching him.

Hellboy: You got to be kidding me!

Hellboy curses out as he watches Spawn closing in onto him.

Spawn then rose up, his body burning with Necroplasm as he rushes forward, slamming into Hellboy.

THOOM!!!

Before Hellboy could react, Spawn grabs Hellboy by the head before summoning a blade, plunging it right into the demon's skull.

Spawn: Die!

SHOK!!!

Blood splurts onto the ground as Spawn tosses Hellboy's lifeless body to the side.

With his opponent dead, Spawn turns around as he stares face to face with Malebolgia.

KO!

<Cue: Love, Again by CHIHIRO>

Megumi: Damn, talk about brutal!

Toomi: Hellboy's toughness and durability sure makes this a fairly challenging match as his near invulnerability to bullets and fire makes it tough for Spawn to bring him down with his standard powers alone.

Sachi: But Spawn's physical strength to go toe to toe with other Hellspawns capable of destroying the planet won out over Hellboy's lesser strength, as most of the monsters Hellboy has fought has never reach levels of that level.

Megumi: Though Hellboy's Right Hand of Doom is suited for dealing with demons like Spawn, and his ability to punch ghosts helps counter Spawn's invisibility, Spawn has everything else to counter what Hellboy has.

Toomi: Hellboy's guns? Spawn has a machine gun. Hellboy's grenades? Spawn has his necroplasm. Hellboy's blade? Spawn has his own, plus a healing factor to regenerate from it.

Megumi: And Al Simmons has years of martial arts knowledge compared to Hellboy who only knows how to just punch, yeah, I can't really see them as equals in terms of skills.

Sachi: Despite the fact that Hellboy's full potential allows him to destroy the world, most lesser hellspawns Spawn fights can already do that and Spawn himself has not only killed them but he has even killed God, the same God who created the entire universe

Megumi: And since Spawn became God and Hellboy became the devil, it's basically God vs Satan except this God has done so much more against a Satan that refuses to accept who he is.

Toomi: Holding the sheer advantage in power, weapon, speed, durability and skills, we can conclude that this is what gives Spawn the victory of this duel.

Megumi: Looks like Hellboy has no chance in Hell against Spawn

Sachi: The winner is Spawn

Spawn: Another soul for Malebolgia
