Story Nine
Titanic was letting the last bit of passengers board her liner. It was her maiden voyage today; April tenth, 1912. Her little sister, Britannic, was with her. She would've left Britannic with Lusitania or Mauretania, but both of them as well were on their own voyages.
As her huge liner pulled out of the docks, the tugboats seemed like ants to her ship. Not to brag, but her ship was three inches bigger than her older sister's ship. "Ti, are you okay?" Britannic asked.
"Yes, I just... I'm scared, Brit. All day today I have been communicating with Olympic with the telegrams, but... it's not like I'm talking to her in person." Titanic explained.
"Maybe ask her for some advice. Not to scare you more, but we just got two more iceberg warnings." Britannic stated.
"I'll order low speeds, just to be safe." Titanic stated.
As the days seamlessly dragged on, Titanic's fear never left. Her passengers were enjoying themselves, and she was moving slowly. The passengers didn't mind going slow, better to be safe than sorry.
"Ms. can we ask why we're going so slow?" A young second class passenger asked. Titanic turned to her, just as kind in her response.
"Yes, we have been getting a lot of iceberg warnings recently. I just want to make sure we arrive to New York safe and sound." Titanic responded. The passenger nodded, moving along to play with her daughter.
Soon, the fifth day of the journey came along, and it was around six-thirtyish. "Titanic, look!" Britannic exclaimed. Titanic rushed out, and literally right beside her ship.. was Olympic and her ship. Olympic's ship was gleaming with the lights on, and both sisters ships look majestic under the moonlight.
"Olympic!" Titanic smiled.
"You're doing so well, little sister." Olympic praised.
"I'm scared of what I'm doing." Titanic admitted.
"T, the first journey will always be scary. But just follow your gut instincts, as you've been doing. You'll get the hang of it, I promise. It's okay to be scared." Olympic stated.
"Will you answer the telegrams I send you?" Titanic asked.
"Every chance I get. Stay fearless, Titanic. See ya in a few days." Olympic responded.
As Olympic changed direction for her ship, she blew her ship's whistle and smiled at her sisters. In return, she got smiles back, and happy waves from passengers who've traveled with her before.
A few days passed, and Titanic soon arrived back home, having completed her journey to and from New York safe and sound. And the first person she spotted was Olympic. Titanic and Britannic hugged her tightly, and Olympic lovingly hugged them both back, taking them home after cleaning and making a list of things they needed for their ships.
From then on, Titanic took Olympic's advice, and often, she ran into her older sister, and they often exchanged personal greetings.
