Story Five
Olympic was sitting on a chair, beer in her hand. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she struggled to breath properly. She had just had a PTSD attack from when she was in the war, add in a nightmare.
It wasn't that late at night, just around eleven. She silently checked in on her sisters, both of who were asleep. She placed a loving kiss on their heads, brushing some hair out of Titanic's face.
"Olympic..?" Titanic asked, sleepily.
"Shhh, hush dear. Go back to sleep." Olympic soothed. When she went back out, she thought she was the only one in the house awake. How wrong was she...
She climbed up to the roof, beer in hand. Her feet barely made any sound as she walked forward. Her nightgown blew in the small breeze. She looked at what would be her fall.
"Olympic, what are you doing?" Her former captain, EJ Smith, asked. She had gotten so lost in thought she didn't realize she was spotted.
"What do you care?" Olympic asked.
"Olympic, honey, what's wrong? You're crying, and you only cry of great distress." Thomas Andrews asked. Olympic couldn't stop her tears from coming, she just couldn't.
"I can't do it anymore... I'm sorry. I just can't..." Olympic sobbed, taking a step forward.
"No!" A female voice rang out. Arms wrapped around Olympic's waist, and she looked. Titanic. Britannic was by EJ Smith, crying while looking at her sister.
"You're supposed to be in bed." Olympic stated.
"Why? So you can kill yourself? Olympic, we know you're afraid! We know you're struggling!" Titanic cried.
With some struggle, Olympic managed to pry Titanic off of her, and she looked over the ledge. She still wanted to jump.
"Olympic, what happened, darling?" Thomas asked.
"She had a PTSD attack, and a nightmare. She's been struggling a lot." Titanic explained.
"She's been hurting herself too. I saw her." Britannic sniffled.
"Struggling with what? A job? A husband?" EJ Smith asked.
"No, her mental health. She's been depressed a lot, often just randomly crying, drinking every night. And what Brit said. Hurting herself." Titanic responded.
"So what if I hurt myself? I'm covered in scars anyways. So what if I wanna die? Who'd care?" Olympic asked.
Thomas say beside her, and looked at his niece-figure gently.
"Olympic, talk to me. I hate to see you girls in a bad state." Thomas murmured. While crying, Olympic just spilled everything out to him.
" I'm sick and tired of getting harsh words spoken about me because of, well, me! I'm having random PTSD and depression episodes, but I don't want to get sent away! I don't want my sisters taken from me! I'm there for them, for anyone who needs a friend or something! And the nightmares.. they just won't stop.... I just wanna die..." Olympic explained.
"Oh, honey... Why didn't you just say something?" EJ asked.
"I didn't want to be a burden to anyone. I thought I could handle it." Olympic stated.
"First mistake. You're never a burden, my dear. Never. How did you hurt yourself?" Thomas asked. Hesitantly, Olympic rolled her sleeves up, revealing self harm scars.
Within time, she got better, but she still had her days. But she knew she had people to talk to about it.
