Bella Hannah Hamilton, younger half-sister of famed founding father, Alexander Hamilton. She lived with her brother her entire life, helping raise his kids, never marrying, though being married in every sense of the word, except legally, to Caroline "Carrie" Carter. In 1807, she died after a bout with scarlet fever, just a mere three years after her brother was shot.

But in this world, she lived.

-

It had been particularly rough, but Bella did eventually feel better. A few days earlier, she'd asked Eliza and Carrie to begin making her funeral preparations. But, the very next day, she had begun feeling much better, and that trend continued over the next couple days. So, Bella was up and at 'em again.

Wendy looked beyond gorgeous in her white dress. Bella helped with adjusting her niece's veil. She was confused, to say the least. Wendy had once told her that she was like her and Carrie. But, Wendy had made no complaints about this Mister Hugh Richardson.

"Are you sure about this?" Bella asked. "I am," Wendy replied after a few seconds. Bella could sense the hesitation in her voice.

So, Bella sat with Eliza as Wendy was married. Tommy, Angel's husband, had been so kind as to walk her down the aisle, due to Alexander's whole being dead thing. Though, even if he was alive, Wendy probably still wouldn't have wanted him doing it, anyway.

The vows were said, the bride and groom took off, everyone cheered with delight.

Early that morning, Wendy had given birth to a baby girl she had named Elizabeth Diana. The baby was a little small, but had been born on time. Wendy seemed happy. Bella sat in a rocking chair near Wendy as the tired new mother slept.

"Hey, little Lizzie. I'm your auntie Bella." It was the line she'd fed to so many babies at this point. From Philip I all the way to Elizabeth. She held the baby girl in her arms, looking down at her. She remembered holding Wendy when Alexander had brought her home, claiming he'd found her in a basket and just felt he had to help her.

That would of course turn out to be total bullshit, but still.

"Wendy's...what?" Bella looked at Hugh, eyes wide with horror. "She's dead, Ms.Hamilton. She hung herself." Hugh repeated.

She hung herself.

Wendy Bella Hamilton has hung herself.

A week later, the funeral happened. Diana and Wendy's friend, Mary, were both sobbing the entire time. At some points quiet, at some points loud. Bella had opted to sob silently as Wendy was laid to rest.

Well, maybe rest wasn't the best word.

And now Diana was getting married, to a man named Daniel Ross. And she seemed genuinely happy about this. Not scared or uncertain, like Wendy had been. Diana was buzzing with excitement, barely able to sit still as her aunt fixed up her veil. Though Bella trusted her niece's judgement, she still felt a pressing need to ask "Diana, are you sure about this?"

"I am." She had replied instantly. She was certain. Unlike with Wendy, there hadn't been an inch of hesitation in Diana's voice.

Tommy also walked Diana down the aisle.

Twins. Diana had had twins, a boy and a girl. Helena Wendy and Clyde Alexander. "Hey, little Clyde, hey, little Helena. I'm your auntie Bella." Just a couple feet over, Diana and Daniel were talking with one another, Diana having her head placed on Daniel's shoulder.

Another few feet away, Angel was surrounded by her own children and a now three year old Elizabeth, who was chewing on the bottom of Angel's skirt. She didn't seem to notice. TJ, who was four, watched his cousin with a mildly confused expression.

"Angel, Elizabeth's chewing on your skirt," Bella told her niece, who quickly pulled her skirt away. "Don't do that," Angel said, pulling the toddler into her lap. Elizabeth let out a displeased whine.

Bella sat at the end of Grace's bed. She was only thirteen, she couldn't die like this. Smallpox was rough though and it became evident a few days before that Grace wouldn't make it.

She was only thirteen, she had just turned thirteen less than a month ago. She couldn't die. Grace held her mother's hand tightly. Her skin was normally pale, but right now it was deathly pale.

"Tell Lys I love her," Was the girl's final request and final words. That's three niblings she's outlived. Three.

Bella stared down at Carrie's headstone. She'd died of a sudden heart attack a few days before. It was just.... Bella had no idea how she was supposed to describe it. The love of her life was dead. Her beloved wife was dead.

"You know I loved you," She spoke, though she was aware she'd get no response. "And I know you loved me. Though it was cut short, I am glad I got to spend forty-three years with you. I love you, Carrie. I'll always love you, Carrie."

Saying it had happened fast was putting it very lightly. So, basically, Hugh shot Elizabeth and killed her, so then TJ challenged him to a duel because what do Hamilton's, honorary or not, do best if it's not duels, killed him and was now on the run.

Fucking hell this family.

But, still, the last bit Bella had left of Wendy was dead at sixteen. God, she didn't know how much more of this she could take.

At the age of  seventy-five Bella Hannah Hamilton died peacefully in her sleep, finally to be with the wife and family members she'd lost.
