CHAPTER ONE

Mornings. Analyn hated mornings. She hated waking up early and then having to spend a boring day at school until three pm. But at least at school she was able to spend more time with her friends. Some people wake up to an alarm on their phone or on their alarm clock and Analyn does too, but her alarm clock is much more creative. It was basically like a wake-up alarm robot.

When her clock struck six forty-five am, it would turn on the system that Analyn made. A small box by the alarm clock would aim a red laser dot at the power drill on her workbench. That hit the turn on button on the power dril and a smalll metal ball that was placed on the drill part moved upwards. She made it where instead of the power drill twisting in a circle that it would move forward like a conveyor belt. Once the metal ball reaches the edge it drops into a funnel that was duct taped to a clear rubber tube.

The metal ball went down the rubber tube, landing on the desk below. There was a small fan set at the other end of the desk and it had been turned on too when the clock struck six-thirty and the fan caused the metal ball to hit a metal can. The metal can rolled into some books behind it that fell like dominos. The last book fell off the edge, hitting an orange colored rope and causing that to pull upwards which opened up the curtains on the windows.

Analyn yawns as she sits up, squinting her eyes and covering them with one hand because of the brightness of the sun that shone through her windows. She had made her wake up alarm system open her curtains too because she knew it would give her a better motivation to wake her up. And sometimes, like today, she regretted doing that. It might seem like her wake up alarm system is more complicated than it needed to be, and it kind of was, but it helped Analyn and she liked it so that's all that matters.

After she took a quick shower and got dressed, she heard her phone that rested on her dresser buzz. She walks over to it, smiling when she saw a text from Anthony. She picks up her phone, replying back to him as she grabs her backpack. "Techne," She said to her A.I. "Turn off the lights, please."

"Will do." A computer female voice responded and the lights in Analyn's room turned off just as the teenage girl got into the hallway. Yes, she named her A.I. Techne. Yeah, even though the name isn't that bad she's still not the best at coming with names for her gadgets.

The red-haired girl walks to the kitchen where she found her parents. Her mom was making herself a cup of coffee and her dad was sitting at the counter with his own cup of coffee in hand and a newspaper in his other hand. "Mornin', sweetheart!" Odessa greets, smiling at her daughter. She gestures with a nod of her head to the plate of bacon and toast on the counter that Gabriel, her husband, was sitting at. Gabriel sets his coffee cup down, picking up a piece of bacon from the plate. "Made some breakfast if you want any before you head to school." Analyn chuckles lightly upon noticing the food looked like it was almost gone. "You better get what you want from it before your dad will eat it all himself."

"Not true." Gabriel protested while he was in the middle of eating a piece of bacon and stealing another piece of bacon.

Odessa rolls her eyes playfully. "Don't talk with your mouth full, Gabe." Gabriel mocks her playfully, earning a slap on his arm from his wife. He chuckles and turns his attention back to the newspaper. As she takes a sip of her coffee, Odessa turns to her daughter who was eating a piece of toast while she stood by the counter. "Are you not skateboarding to school today?" Odessa asked, noticing Analyn didn't have her skateboard with her.

"Nope, Anthony is driving me to school today." Analyn replied, glancing at the door when a honk of a horn was heard.

"I bet you that's him." Gabriel commented.

Odessa raises her eyebrows. "As in him Anthony?"

"No, as in him Tony Stark." Gabriel rolls his eyes playfully. "Of course I meant Anthony."

Analyn chuckles, shaking her head. "I need to stop you guys from watching Marvel with me or you guys might be more obsessed with it than I am."

"I don't think that's possible with me." Odessa tells her. She sets her coffee cup on the counter top she was now leaning on. She points at her husband. "But your dad is one step away from being obsessed with Marvel. I caught him binge watching the movies last weekend."

"Hey, in my defense those movies are really good!" Gabriel defends himself. He grins. "And Tony is obviously the best Avenger."

"Oh, please." Odessa scoffs. "I could think of a lot of reasons why that's not true."

Analyn slowly backed away towards the door, watching her parents with an amused look as they began to argue with each other what Avenger they think is better. She had finished eating her piece of toast by the time she got to the front door. She turned around, opening the door and walked out, closing the door behind her.

A smile made its way to Analyn's face upon seeing her best friend parked in the driveway. Anthony glances up from his phone and puts his phone away when he heard the front door close and he smiles at Analyn, waving at her slightly. Analyn waves back at him as she walks over to the passenger side. After putting her backpack in the back seat, she got into the passenger seat and closed the door.

Anthony glances at the red-haired girl with a small smile. "Ready?"

"For another boring day at school?" Analyn sighs and smiles at him. "Yeah, sure."

Anthony's parents wouldn't tell him what they were keeping from him until Nate got home from school. When he got home after track practice, he didn't expect to see suitcases by the front door and when he asked his parents said they would explain when Nate was there. So when Nate finally gets home he asks, "Okay, he's home. Will you guys spill? What's goin' on?"

"Boys..." Anthony's and Nate's mom, Sherrie, smiles, putting her hands on her husband's shoulders. "Daddy is taking me away for the weekend. Somewhere fancy in West Virgina for our big anniversary!" She grins and outstretches her arms. "Surprise!"

Anthony raises his eyebrows. "We can afford 'fancy'?"

"That's why God invented credit cards." The boy's dad, Rex, replies with a smile. "And your mom's been working double shifts. And so she's earned it."

Sherrie then adds that Rex had had a really good job interview today. "He's gonna land on his feet soon. But the sitter is tied up, so...."

Anthony shakes his head, pointing at his younger brother. "Oh, I'm not watching him this weekend. No way."

Nate couldn't help the grin on his face because he knew that his and Libby's plan to get to New York and try out for the Lilo and Stitch musical would actually happen. "Don't you have an away game tomorrow?"

Anthony rolls his eyes. "It's not a game, it's a meet."

"And you're gonna win it." Rex encourages him. "And one of these days soon, you're gonna get a full ride to college."

Anthony grimaces. "Don't jinx me, dad."

"You always win!" Sherrie and Rex spoke at the same time, looking at each other with smiled when they realize they said the same thing at the same time.

"I could....I could stay at Libby's mom's place tonight." Nate offered.

Sherrie gasps and smiles at him. "Could you? Would that be too much trouble?" Nate grinned in response.

Anthony looks at his parents with offense. "What? You'd never let me stay the night at a girl's house."

"That's not true." Rex points at him. "You've stayed at Analyn's house many times before."

Anthony sighs and nods. "Okay, good point."

"And besides, you're not Nate." Rex tells him. He glances at his youngest son with a smile. "Nate's different."

"Since he's apparently staying with at Libby's mom's place and I'll be alone with the dog can Analyn stay here?" Anthony asks, looking at his parents with a hopeful expression. He points at his parents as they exchange a hesitant expression. "I mean, you guys love her and she stayed the night here before."

"Yeah, okay." Sherrie agrees, looking at him with a small smile. "But you better behave."

"We always behave." Anthony chuckled.

Sherrie points at him with a stern expression on her face. "I'm talking about you. You better behave."

"Yeah, yeah." Anthony rolls his eyes playfully. "I will."

After school Analyn and her girl best friend Mallory Bennet decided on hanging out since Anthony had track practice and Analyn would rather do anything but spend her time watching boring track practice. So she spent some time with Mallory at Mallory's house. Analyn and Mallory get along quite well and have been besties since they met in kindergarten.

The two girls worked on homework together and watching tv. Analyn and Mallory get along quite well and have been besties since they met in kindergarten. When the two girls were done with homework and had finished watching the movie series 'The High School Musical' Analyn figured it was time for her to head home. It was around five which happened to be the time her parents got home, and she hadn't told her parents she would be hanging out with Mallory since that was a spontaneous thing.

"Thanks, Mal!" Analyn said to the dark-skinned girl as she got out of the blue jeep after Mallory parked in her driveway.

"No problem, Ana!" Mallory smiles. "TTLY!"

Analyn chuckles and nods. "Yeah, I'll talk to you later." She closes the passenger door and waves goodbye to Mallory and the black-haired girl waves back at her before she left the driveway and drove off. Something that might be a little weird about Mallory is the fact that she often used acronyms (only around her friends and family). Her reason of using acronyms is because it makes things easier and more fun.

Analyn was surprised to see her parent's cars in the driveway while she walked towards the front door. Her parents usually didn't come home from work until around five and it was around three. She walked inside the house, closing the door before she turned around to walk.

"Mom? Dad?" She called out when she didn't see them in the kitchen, the dining room or the living room.

"In our bedroom!" Odessa responded.

Analyn walks down the hallway to her parent's bedroom at the end of the hallway. The door was already opened so she walks inside, raising her eyebrows and she grew confused upon seeing they were packing their suitcases. "Are we going on a trip that I'm not aware of?"

"Yep." Gabriel chuckles. "I have a meeting with the head architect firm that's in Nashville, Tennessee, so we both took off work early and decided on leaving tonight. You're more than welcomed to join us."

Analyn tilts her head as she thinks about the offer. She never been there before so that would be a fun trip. "And if you're worried about missing school or something like that we're planning on coming back late Sunday night." Odessa added.

Analyn smiles slightly, getting her phone out of the pocket of her jacket when it buzzed. Her smile widens when she saw she got a text from Anthony, asking her if she wanted to stay the night. "Actually, if you guys don't mind, I think I'll stay here. Anthony just invited me to spend the night at his house tonight because his parents are going on a trip this weekend and his brother is staying at Libby's." She glances at her parents with a smile. "And I'm sure that he would be fine if I stayed the whole weekend, then we wouldn't be alone the whole weekend."

"I'm okay with it." Odessa smiled.

Gabriel grimaces. "I'm not for sure how I feel about my daughter spending the night at a teenage boy's house."

"He's not just any teenage boy," Analyn rolls her eyes. "He's Anthony. I've spent the night at his house before."

"Yeah, but that doesn't mean I like it." Gabriel pouted.

Analyn chuckles lightly. "Dad, I thought you liked him."

"I do. Sometimes." Gabriel shrugs. "My opinion on him changes, I wouldn't trust it."

Odessa chuckles at her husband and shakes her head. She glances at her daughter with a small smile. "Ana, it's fine, you can stay the night at his house. Just call us or text us each day to update how things are going."

Analyn grins and she goes over to hug her mom. "Thanks, mom! Will do."

A/N fun fact: i made her wake up at six: thirty 'cause that was the time that i had gotten up when i went to high school. yes her alarm & it's name is like camryn's alarm from project mc2 cause that thing is so cool & tbh i wish i had one. also i totally based odessa's & gabriel's relationship off of topanga's & corey's from girl meets world & i based analyn's & mallory's friendship off of camryn's & bryden's friendship in project mc2.
