CHAPTER FOUR

"For the fourth time, no we're not listening to the Wicked soundtrack on the way to Libby's." Anthony groaned.

"Oh, come on!" Analyn whines. She frowns. "Why not? The songs are so good."

The two best friends were currently in Anthony's truck as he drove them to Libby's house. Analyn had asked if she could have the aux chord to play music, but Anthony kept saying she couldn't play her music since she wanted to play the Wicked soundtrack and he was not a musical lover.

"Please? Just once." Analyn pleads. "Then if you absolutely hate listening to it, on the way to get Nate we can listen to anything else."

Anthony glances at Analyn, shaking his head and his shoulders drop in defeat when he saw she was using her puppy dog eyes. He tried to stay strong and not give in, but he inhales sharply, turning to face the road. "Fine." He muttered.

"Yes!" Analyn grins, leaning over to hug on his arm. Anthony did his best to fight a smile, but it was hard since he thought she was cute with how excited she was about this. "You're the best."

"Yeah, I know." Anthon grinned.

Analyn plugged her phone into the aux chord and put on her 'Wicked' playlist on Spotify. Soon the beginning of the song 'Popular' played started and Analyn immediately started singing along. At first, Anthony acted annoyed with the soundtrack, but a smile tugged on his lips as he stole glances at her while she sang her heart out to the songs.

As they continued driving, Analyn continued to sang more songs, she even managed to get Anthony to join her. "You know, I have to admit, this music is growing on me." Anthony admitted, surprised at himself.

Analyn grins. "I knew you would like it! You can't resist the power of 'Wicked'."

****

"Well, well, well." Anthony speaks as he and Analyn walked over to Libby, who was walking up the driveway to the house. Libby sighs, looking apologetic as she turns to face him and Analyn. While Analyn stood by her best friend, her arms crossed and looking at Libby with raised eyebrows, Anthony had his hands in his pockets and tilts his head to the side.  "Do you want to tell us why my idiot little brother is in New York City right now ,going viral on Tiktok? Well?"

Libby grimaces. "Do I want to tell you or do I have to tell you?"

"Libby." Anthony said in a warning tone.

"You have to tell us." Analyn chimes in. "Obviously."

Libby is silence for a moment, but then her phone rings. She glances at her phone before showing the caller ID to the two best friends, revealing that Aunt Heidi was calling her. Anthony shares a confused look with Analyn. "Why is my aunt calling you?" Anthony asked, looking back at Libby along with Analyn, the two teens staring at her with confusion.

"She thinks I'm your mom." Libby replied.

Analyn's eyes widen. "Uh, what? How?"

"It's kind of a long story." Libby sheepishly responded.

Analyn jumps, startled by the sudden sound of thunder rumbling. "Great, of course it has to storm." She grumbled and Anthony sent her a sympathetic smile, rubbing her back to comfort her since he knew she was scared of thunderstorms.

****

"Nate!" Anthony shouts, banging on the door to his aunt's apartment.  "Nathan!"

Seconds later, Heidi opens the door, letting the two best friends and Libby inside. "Where is he?" Anthony demanded, storming into the apartment.

"Gotta pee! Gotta pee!" Libby ran past everyone in the direction Heidi pointed towards the bathroom.

"Around the corner!" Heidi added.

"How are you here right now?" Nate asked with confusion, looking in the direction his best friend ran.

Anthony clears his throat loudly to get his attention. Nate looks at him nervously. "Hi Anthony." Then he glances at Analyn, smiling a bit when he saw her but he still looked nervous. "Hi, Analyn."

"Like a giant." Heidi comments, grinning at Anthony. She glances back at Nate. "He's like a giant." She looks at Analyn with a wide smile. "And it's so great to see you! Can I hug you?"

"How could I say no to one of Aunt Heidi's hugs?" Analyn grinned, earning a laugh from Heidi and she pulled her into a hug.

"Hi, Aunt Heidi." Anthony waves while Analyn and Heidi pull away from the hug. "Long time no everything, I guess." He glares at his brother. "Don't 'hi, anthony', me, Nate."

"Okay. Bye, Anthony."

Analyn snickers, growing quiet and rolling her eyes at the look Anthony sent her. "And I can live with Heidi in New York." Nate adds. "Perfect."

"Yeah, like mom would ever let that happen." Anthony scoffed.

"So, what, then? Are they waiting downstairs for me with handcuffs?" Nate frowned.

"They don't even know we're." Anthony tells him. "Get in my truck right now."

"What? What?" Heidi exclaimed with surprise, turning to face Nate with wide eyes, and Analyn grimaced since she assumed Heidi didn't know Anthony's and Nate's parents didn't know Nate was in New York.

"You-You didn't tell on me?" Nate asked his brother with surprise while Libby walked back into the room.

"No." Anthony replies in a 'duh' tone. "I'm the one who's supposed to be watching you, remember?" He points towards the door, ordering, "Get downstairs right now!"

"Okay." Nate picks up a nearby pillow, looking at his brother pleadingly. "Please, just let me stay for two more hours, so I can go to my callback."

Analyn's eyes lit up. "You got a callback?" Nate grins at her and nods. "Nate, that's great!"

Nate smiles widely. "Thanks, Lyn."

After seeing the look her best friend sent her, Analyn rolls her eyes at him "What? Can I not tell him a good job?"

Anthony is silent as he looks away from Nate, looking annoyed. "I know I embarrass you, Anthony." Nate continues. Analyn frowns, glancing at Nate with sympathy after seeing the tears in his eyes. "Every day. And I know that you hate being my brother, just please, let me have this one thing."

"Anth, come on." Analyn pleads, glancing at Anthony with a puppy dog look since she knew he couldn't say no to it. "Just let him stay for the callback. Then we can go back home."

Anthony groans. "Ana, don't look at me like that."

"Lyn and I have been trying to explain how big a Broadway callback is for seven hours." Libby tells her best friend as Nate sets the pillow down. "So, good luck. But, just for the record, you may have ran away, but Anthony apparently threw quite a party." Anthony glances at the floor with a guilty expression. "Which I'm sure your parents wouldn't be happy about. So, you have some leverage here." She smiled.

"Ooh, you're good." Heidi comments with a smile. "You should be an agent someday. Wanna be my agent?"

Libby tilts her head to the side, raising her eyebrows. "Is that a real job?"

"Uh, that's the best job, okay?" Heidi responds. "You collect ten percent of an actor's salary by making phone calls and going to three lunches a day." Libby's eyes lit up as she continues. "And you don't have to humiliate yourself in an audition."

"And you get to see what makes people amazing before they even know about it themselves." Nate chimes in. "That's what an agent does, too."

"Good Lord! I'm gonna wring you-"

"Not gonna happen." Analyn stepped in front of Anthony, pushing him back away from Nate. He stayed where he was when she stepped in front of him and exhaled sharply.

"Why are you limping?" Nate questioned, furrowing his eyebrows when he noticed his brother limping.

"Quit changing the subject." Anthony angrily replies. "Ana, get out of the way." He gently pushed her to the side, earning an annoyed huff from her. She went to step in front of him again, but she stopped, looking relieved when this time his aunt blocked his way.

"Let me just say that for your little brother to have even gotten a callback is kind of remarkable." Heidi cut in. Analyn's lips curl up into a small smile when she noticed Libby subtly gesture to Nate to go out the window. "And it says big things about Nate's talent, Anthony." Analyn saw Nate grab a trench coat before he ran to the door that led to the fire escape. "It just...It's two hours, two hours." When Nate closed the door, Libby knocked over a nearby vase to cover the sound.

Libby outstretches her hands, pretending to look shocked. "Oh, no!"

"My favorite vase." Heidi frowned.

"Nate!" Anthony angrily yelled, pushing his aunt out of the way and walked as quick as he could to the fire escape.

"Anthony, wait!" Analyn called out and followed him.

The group ran over to the fire escape, watching with surprise. "Natey!" Anthony calls out. "Stop!"

"He always wanted to escape out a window." Libby grinned.

"Honestly, same." Analyn admitted with a grin.

"Gosh, he is a great client." Libby smiled widely as Nate landed on the ground. He then took off running and the group was quick to leave to follow him.

****

"Let's go, let's go!" Anthony clapped, ushering everyone towards the door.

"Ooh, he took my trench coat." Heidi notices. Libby hands her a purple coat that was on the coat rack. "Oh. Yeah. Where is my..."

"Keys?" Libby handed Heidi her keys.

"Wow, you really are a great agent." Analyn smiled and Libby grinned at her.

"Yeah. Okay. So, we're going to just find him at the audition studio, and it's going to be okay." Heidi reassured everyone, grabbing her purse.

****

"As long as he's alive, everything will be okay." Heidi said.

"So I can kill him." Anthony grumbled.

"Not kill him." Analyn corrected him as she followed the others up the stairs.

"Right?" Libby agrees. "Over his agent's dead body."

"Alright, nobody's murdering anyone!" Heidi exclaimed.

Anthony opens the door once they reach the room the audition would be held in. "You started it."

"Alright, be respectful." Heidi points at him with a stern look. "This is an audition place."

Anthony looks slightly amused, as if he thought Heidi was telling a joke. As Heidi walked inside with Libby, Analyn sent Anthony a look which made him look nervous and he raises his hands in defense. "Okay, I'll be respectful."

****

"'Lilo & Stich'. It was a cartoon." Heidi said to the security guard.

The group had been trying to see when Nate's callback was, but the security guard said there was nothing. "Can you please just check the schedule again?" Heidi asks. "There's just no way he made this up."

"A hundred percent kidnapped." Anthony murmured, wincing when Analyn hit his shoulder.

"Don't...Stop saying that!" Heidi glared at him.

"There's no 'Lilo & Stich' on the schedule today." The security guard replies. "Promise."

Anthony moves to stand by his aunt, glancing at the guard with raised eyebrows. "Okay, you haven't seen anyone this morning who looks like me? Just like, little shorter, kind of gawky?"

"Gawky?" Analyn mumbles with confusion. "What does that even mean?"

"He's not gawky," Libby said in defense. "He is incredibly castable and very cuddly. No matter who he chooses to love."

"Okay, okay. Anyway," Heidi looked back at the security guard and turned the computer around to face her so she could try and see the schedule.

The security guard stares at her with wide eyes, turning the computer back to face him. "Ma'am!"

"I just want..." Heidi frowns and looks at him with offense. "Wait, 'ma'm'? 'Ma'am?' I'm ma'am to you? We could have gone to college together."

Anthony and Analyn glance at Libby when she looked after her phone with a roll of her eyes after seeing the notification she got. Then as she held her phone behind her back she tried her best not to smile. "Hold on." Anthony snatched her phone from her.

"My...Okay." Libby tried to stop him but she gave up.

Analyn stands by Anthony, their shoulders touching as they both glance at the text Libby got from Nate. Analyn's eyes widen and she smiles upon seeing Nate standing in front of the Broadway Theater with the sign behind him saying 'Lilo & Sitch'. Then her eyes widen when she realized something. "Wait...We're at the wrong place." Analyn realized.

Anthony glances at Libby with raised eyebrows. "You knew the callback wasn't here, didn't you?" Libby stays silent, pretending to look innocent as she glances around. Anthony scoffs, looking at his aunt. "Aunt Heidi."

"What?" Heidi looked at him with furrowed eyebrows.

He's at some place called the Amsterdam Theater." Anthony showed her the text.

"New Amsterdam, Anthony." Libby corrects. "'New'". Words matter."

"She's not wrong." Analyn nodded in agreement.

A/N currently loving analyn's & anthony's friendship, they're so cute
