You woke up with a yawn, the sun brushing your face and making you wake up but you still felt sleepy

You stirred and grabbed your blanket tighter, the warmth comforting against your body. It rose up and down, the breathing-

Wait a minute

You opened your eyes slowly and stretched, your gaze landing upon a completely awake Adora who had probably been staring at you before you had woken up

This was the best sleep you have had in a long time

"Morning sleepyhead"

"Shut up" You rubbed your eyes and blinked them open before you layed back next to Adora, refusing to move from the warmth that she was currently providing

She chuckled, probably at your grumpiness, and poked your shoulder playfully "Come on, we have to wake up"

"Five more minutes"

Adora sighed "Fine..."

Your eyes snapped open in surprise "Really?"

She laughed and punched your shoulder "Yeah, I know. It's barely 7am anyways and we have three more hours until the meeting so we should be fine. Come on"

Adora held her hands up and you slipped in her embrace, your head snuggled up against her chest as she pressed her head and buried it at the back of your neck

For the first time you didn't mind, just enjoyed the warmth of each other on the quiet morning

(Time skip)

Angella entered the meeting room, a frustrated look on her face as she sat down on her seat and narrowed her eyes at the table, seemingly lost in her own head since she arrived

You shared a look with Glimmer. Oh hell no this wasn't good

At least Glimmer wasn't bringing up what happened yesterday. Thank Etheria for that but she probably would one day. Just hopefully not soon. Or in the next few years. Or ever for that matter

Angella held her head in her hands and sighed "I have a plan but I will need more time to execute it. It's too risky to act now or we might all get stuck in between the shadows"

She didn't need to even say what she was talking about, everyone knew. Her words made your heart drop and you had probably become paler than you should be but who could blame you. Glimmer gasped and put a hand over her mouth before looking over in your direction. Bow was looking sad and defeated as his expression fell even more

How they knew, you didn't know but that was the last concern on your mind. One least thing to tell

Adora shared a look with Catra. Catra put her hand over hers before turning to you and doing the same, squeezing tightly

The look in their eyes could only say one thing Please don't go

But you had to. At least for a day

The rest of the meeting was about the war strategies and how they were gonna defeat the Horde. Tomorrow we should come up with a plan and the necessary preparation will be done tomorrow as well if everything goes according to plan

You left the room with a heavy feeling in your chest. That didn't go according to plan

You were hoping they would have a reasonable thing by now but...they don't.  That means you will leave tonight to try and talk to your mother, one thing that had occurred to you during the meeting was that she knew your powers better than anyone else. If you wanted to be efficient in battle, you had to go talk to her and figure things out

"Hey Y/n wait!"

You stopped mid step and looked over at Perfuma, Mermista, Spinnerella and Netossa who had come over to you

You raised an eyebrow sceptically, not entirely sure if you should trust whatever was going on "Yeah that's me, what do you want?"

Perfuma shared a look with Mermista who just groaned in annoyance and pinched the bridge of her nose before saying "We were worried about you.  There. I said it now leave me alone" She looked over at a beaming Perfuma beside her and glared at her actions

"But seriously tho we were worried" Spinny smiled gently and leaned against her wife

"I don't know why but there is nothing to be worried about. Everything is perfect" You tried to play it off with a smile and turned around to leave, not really wanting to explain everything that was currently going on right now. You just didn't have the energy

Netossa grabbed your hand and tugged you so you could face her "Really? Because it seems pretty obvious to me"

You rolled your eyes and removed your hand from her grasp, putting it behind your back so you could squeeze it without anyone seeing. That hurt like a bitch damn it "You will just continue to annoy me until I tell you is that right?"

Spinnerella nodded "Pretty much"

"Guys let's not force her-"

Mermista put a hand over her mouth to shut Perfuma up "No"

You started rubbing your forehead as a headache had started to take place from all of this "I just don't feel like doing it right now"

Perfuma wrapped her vines around Mermista and put her to the side before turning back to you with a gentle smile "You don't have to tell us if you don't want to, we are your friends and we understand" she grabbed your hand and put a palm over it "But we would appreciate it if you tell us. It would really mean a lot to all of us"

You sighed. These people... Damn it "I'm leaving"

Her smile faltered until it dissapeared completely, her expression setting in a frown "What why?"

"And when?" Mermista called out from behind as she tried to get the vines away from her with some water woodo magic

"Tonight, but I will be back for the battle I promise. After that I will go back to my kingdom Amura and stay there with my mother to help rule"

Netossa crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow "Why"

"It's... complicated..."

"Everything is complicated but do you see us curling up in a ball in the corner? No"

Spinnerella went to stand beside Netossa and put a palm over her shoulder "Netossa darling come on"

Netossa turned around and glared before releasing a defeated sigh and uncrossed her arms "Fine..."

Mermista groaned "Can't we just get this over with?!"

"Fine fine" you put your hands up and pointed at the other two "Not my fault but still"

You ignored the received glare from Netossa and continued "Basically my mother had hidden the kingdom and you already know all that. But the shadows surrounding it prevent anyone from staying in there for more than 24 hours straight. And she's struggling and I... I just feel like I should be there you know? It's my dutie and she's my mother and it's my kingdom and I thought I had lost it and now...I mean...I-"

You stopped. This wasn't gonna go anywhere. Your gaze landed back on the others as you looked over their expressions. They seemed more... understanding in a way. You knew they would

You just couldn't bare that one day, you will never see them again but... What would you do if the thing you had wanted your whole life was handed out to you like that? Would you take it?

You hugged yourself and looked behind you to the door that lead to your room "I'm gonna go now, thanks for your concern it's...really appreciated. I hope you know that"

"Y/n-"

You left before hearing out the rest. Once you had slipped in your room your back hit the door and you slide down to the ground, hands still wrapped around your body for comfort

You were startled when a flying horse flew in the room. In your state of panic you took a dagger from your holder and trew it at the thing, not really recognizing what you were doing at first. It was a reflex

Thankfully it dodged and widened it's eyes "What the hell?!"

"It can talk? YOU CAN TALK?" Your eyes were wide as you stared at the flying horse

"I'm not it I'm Swift Wind! The-"

"No offence Swifty but we already know the speech" Adora appeared out if thin air somehow on his back and jumped down on the floor

You blinked "You-he-huh?"

Adora laughed "I know it freaked me out at first too. We picked berries" Adora said and grinned while holding up the basket currently full of the blue fruit and placed it down on the table

Swift Wind just flew away and you hadn't even realized when. That's a first

Adora dusted her hands and went to grab a washcloth so she could run it against her hands while she talked "You know what Madam Razz said was quite strange. She-"

Adora had told you she knew about her before so it wasn't a big shock to you as she uttered the words now. Once Adora was done she tossed the cloth mid speech and finally looked at your face. She froze for a split second before rushing down and kneeling in front of you

"Hey you okay? Is it because I didn't get you to pick berries with me?"

You frowned at her words. Why the hell would someone cry about that? "What no"

Adora wiped the tears away as she said "Then why? Did I do something?"

"Dumbass you didn't do anything"

A knock sounded on the door. Once no one answered a cloud of sparkles appeared before Glimmer appeared with a wide smile on her lips "You wont-" She stopped once she looked at the two of you. Then, she teleported away without a word

"That was weird..." You mumbled and looked over at Adora

She nodded and hummed in     agreement "Mhm"

Before any of you could say anything Glimmer appeared again, Catra held in a tight grip before Glimmer winked and dissapeared again, leaving the shocked cat behind in the room who just stared for a moment

"What the hell?" Catra mumbled and you could barely hear it

Adora grinned "That's Glimmer to you Catra"

The cat girl smirked "Hey Adora, Y/n" Catra didn't seem to recognize the state you were in before her eyes finally focused, probably because when Glimmer teleported her she could barely stomach it "Hey what happened to you?"

"That's what I'm trying to figure out too"

"Oh shut it I'm fine" You wiped a tear that had currently fallen down and sniffed as you stood up and went over to your desk to sit on it. Fucking feelings. And tears. Can't you just turn them off?

You started to mindlessly play with the plans you had written down for the attack before you felt someone coming over to you and putting their hands on your shoulders

Immediately recognizing the person you sighed "Catra whatever you are doing-"

"Shh" She said at once and started massaging your shoulders. It kind of made you stiffen up more and it definitely wasn't working as it should "Come on, relax. Damn you and Adora really are soulmates"

You snored "Pfft yeah no. You are"

"Why is this turning on me?"

As Catra continued to massage your shoulders you started to relax a bit which she took with great satisfaction. You didn't know what the dork was doing but you heard some noises from behind so it couldn't be good

"You feeling better?"

You fought a blush when Catra purposefully leaned in over your ear and whispered it in that voice if hers, her breath tingling down your neck

You elbowed her in the ribs which only made her laugh "Hey I'm trying to help you princess"

"Shut up darling we both know you are not"

"Hey if turning you on helps, it helps"

Your mouth fell open "Catra!"

Adora came up and sat on the deck, a goofy smile on her face. She crossed her arms and shrugged "I agree with Catra on that. Anything that helps"

"Adora you're supposed to be on my side here!"

She laughed "Nope. Catra is right, for once"

"Wha- Adora!"

"Sorry kitten but it's true"

"Dorks"

"Shut up Y/n"

"Make me shut up"

"Oh I will"

"Can I join?"

"What the hell Adora?"

"Sorry kitty but it's true"

"Stop calling me that"

And that's how it went on for the rest of the night

"I swear to god Y/n shut up"

"Hey it's not my fault Catra is like that- STOP LICKING MY HAND"

"Hmm or what?"

"God damn it"

"Hey Adora a little help here?"

"Don't bring me into this"

"Catra I will trow you out the window. I hope cats really do land on their feet"

"Oh please I will cut your hand off before you do it"

"Let's not cut hands over-"

"Wanna bet?"

"GUYS"

"SHUT UP ADORA"
