Chapter 34
About a month had passed, and school was nearing a close for them all. Just a few more months, and they'd be heading off to college. And though school was nearing a close, their friendship was just beginning.
Patton and Logan had found that it was unhealthy for them to push their feelings aside, as they found that there was still some sort of bad blood from the breakup.
Logically, Logan had thought that he didn't like Patton because he was gay and Patton while was a male, and while just as much of one as anybody else, he was born a female.
Though feelings weren't always chalked up to logic. If Logan couldn't see past that aspect of Patton, cared more about what he had down there than his personality, then he felt like he would be an absolute horrible and toxic friend.
Sure, it could just be a preference, though upon talking more about the subject with him, he found out that Patton just...wasn't for him. He was outgoing and bubbly and friendly-and Logan, well-he'd been described as dull, stoic, and frankly, kind of robotic at times.
The saying "opposites attract" wasn't necessarily true. They didn't click well together, as they found that out after furthering their relationship. A high school sweetheart phase and a serious relationship were two different things.
They weren't that serious either, they'd only dated for a short time. Maybe a few months. They'd never done something too serious, though they had kissed and held hands before. Maybe a little bit of kinky stuff every now and again, but they never had actual sex.
Short of it is, that Logan just couldn't put as much effort into the relationship as Patton would, and nobody would be benefited in the end, because Patton would feel like Logan was-well, neglecting him in a way.
So it was better for both of them this way.
They were still wonderful as friends, just from a relationship standpoint, it wasn't going to work out.
"Hey guys!" Patton chirped as he came into school, immediately spotting his friends, "mom and dad are going to be gone for a few days-wanna have a sleepover on the weekend?"
Since it had been a while since they'd all became friends, they all trusted one another, and Virgil was actually very comfortable with them, and they'd actually had a couple sleepovers. So he wasn't really nervous about staying over.
"Sleepover? Yes!" Roman squealed, causing Logan to face palm.
"I'm literally about to walk away. You guys are so embarrassing, we're seniors in high-school, please don't call it a sleepover."
"Slumber party!" Patton and Roman exclaimed together, busting into a fit of giggles.
When all of the laughter died down, Virgil asked a more serious question, 'Where are your parent's going off to?' He signed.
"Oh, right! Dad had a business thingy and-well, i'm not sure what mom's doing, probably going to see my aunt? She's in the hospital, though she didn't really tell me where she went.."
"Sorry about your aunt Pat, I hope she gets better!" Roman exclaimed, throwing his arms out dramatically for emphasis.
"Oh, she should be alright, she's getting better every day" Patton smiled, "my dad was really worried about leaving me, because i'm a minor and all and he didn't want me to feel neglected and all that—but I think he's just projecting from his childhood experiences—anyways, I told him i'd be fine! I'm seventeen, i'm about to be an adult anyways!"
"Patton, you're rambling. You seem nervous. Do you want to have this nighttime get together because you'd feel alone if we didn't?" Logan asked.
They all grew silent at Logan's random burst of edginess, and all Patton did was nod, "I-well, i'm alone pretty often...my mom says that since i'm almost an adult now, I don't need her to be home all the time...and my dad works, so he isn't there either..not sure what mom's been doing though."
"Awe, Patton!" Roman exclaimed, throwing an arm around Patton's shoulder, "come on, love-LY SOUL- I MEAN-it'll all be okay!" He quickly said, blushing at his slip up.
Patton giggled, "you're right, thanks for making me feel better guys."

Mentally, he felt better.
Physically, he was feeling horrible.
He felt nauseous and sick to his stomach, like he was going to puke any second. His mouth was filling with saliva at an alarming rate, and he could feel the back of his throat burning.
He knew it was inevitable, so he raised his hand to get her attention,"Mrs. Ale, May I use the restroom?" He asked quietly.
As soon as she caught his eye she said "Yes, go" because he seriously looked bad. His eyes were dark and droopy, his hands were clenched onto his stomach, and his throat was literally convulsing.
He nodded and slowly got up, painfully walking out of the room.
Roman was concerned from where he sat, his math equations forgotten as he looked after him.
"Roman" Mrs Ale began, his head snapping up, "could you go with him? Moral support and all, you know."
Roman nodded. All of the teachers knew of his situation..and as a mother herself, Mrs. Ale probably thought that Patton would want some comfort while morning sickness was forcing him to puke his guts out.
Roman gathered his stuff, wanting nothing more than to book it down the hallway after Patton-but he had to be cool about it, as to not alarm anybody else.
He closed the classroom door and saw Patton staggering down the hallway.
He watched as Patton's stomach lurched and he began to sprint to the bathroom.
Roman follower quickly, and as soon as he entered the bathroom, he saw Patton's head in the nearest toilet bowl, wrenching into it. Hot, painful stomach acid was coming up along with bright yellow chunks.
Roman looked away so that he himself wouldn't puke, though the smell itself was rancid.
He waited for Patton to finish, and inevitably, he started sobbing. He began to shiver, "T-this sucks..mmm" he groaned, half passed out.
He grabbed some toilet paper to help Patton wipe the puke from his mouth, "it's okay Pat, I know, it sucks. It sucks so bad, but one day it'll all be over..I promise" he whispered, holding Patton close.
After a few moments more, Patton decided that he wasn't going to puke again, and Roman helped him stand up, "ready to go back to class?"
Patton nodded, and shakily began to walk back with Roman, "thank you so much.."
"Anything for you, Patton" he smiled.

During lunch, Patton had the shakes obviously—he had puked up all of his breakfast, and had been feeling sick the whole morning. He didn't say all that much in favor of eating the lunch his dad had packed him before he had left for work that morning.
It was a simple PB&J cut into a heart shape with animal crackers, pita bread, hummus and peaches. He usually ate just the school's lunch but his father had insisted upon making him a lunch that day, and he was grateful because a sandwich sounded much more appetizing than the lumpy, thick brown liquid that was being served that day.
By the time it was fourth block and he was with his friends again for public speaking, he had begun to feel a lot better, it only lasted until a little bit after lunch.
They were all excited to finish their project because they had been working very hard on it and couldn't wait to show it off. They had a few visual aspects that could be presented along with it, and they really wanted to get another hundred in the grade book before progress reports went out. They all usually forged their parents signatures anyways, but still, getting good grades felt nice.
Patton was mostly excited for the sleepover, as everyone else was too.
When the bell finally rang, they decided not to do the whole split up thing again—it was inevitable that Remus or Janus would come back to taunt them as soon as they were alone.
So they got into Roman's super awesome car (it wasn't) and drove to Patton's house. After texting their parents of course—earning trust from your parents is how you get prepared for your very own experience with adultery!
When they got there, Patton immediately went to check the fridge for notes to which there were a few.
'Hey buddy, I hope you have an A-okay time while i'm gone! Sadly, those farts I usually save for you will have to be used on my boss.
Don't worry, he'll appreciate them just as much as you! :)
Also, if you need anything anything at all, even if you just wanna talk, remember that i'm always going to be here!
Waiting..
Watching :>
Cya, Champ!
-Awesome dad lol i'll put 69 here just becauze my guy
Patton chuckled at his dad's attempts at humor.
Though all joking aside, he was sure that everything would be fine!

Yeah, totally fine!
"Hey, do you guys wanna bake some cookies together?" Patton asked as they began to put their stuff down.
"Yeah!" Roman exclaimed.
Virgil just nodded with a smile.
Logan began his tangent, "Of course, Patton. Baking is actually very good at relieving stress—"
————————————————————
"THE STOVE IS ON FIRE, GOD IS DEAD!!!" Roman screeched.
"we didN'T EVEN USE THE STOVE?!!!!!!!??????????!?!" Logan screamed, pouring the all purpose flour over the grease fire, effectively putting it out.
Virgil was having a panic attack in the corner at this point, and Patton had to calm him down from it. Logan and Roman screaming at each other didn't help much, but eventually everything was okay, and they finished the cookies.
When Patton finally put them in the oven, he sighed, and then everyone began to clean up the huge mess.
