The Purple Alien
They made their way to the carnival. It was a fun day. Legend and Moses rode the rides with the kids. Those kids were up for everything and Legend found himself actually having fun and laughing. There were a few times when he actually screamed because of a ride.
Legend laughed and exchanged glances with Moses the whole day that Legend didn't understand. Legend would see Moses gaze into his eyes. Long gazes. They would smile at each other for small moments that weren't supposed to be anything.
They laughed together as they rode a spinning ride. It was a tilt-a-whirl but the name was something like Spin-and-Puke. One kid did! Thankfully it wasn't theirs though.
Miriam and Scott showed up with a medium size stuffed horse. The kids wanted to play games just to win those stupid worthless prizes. The little girl, Sierra and the boy, Sage, rushed with their grandpa to the games. Legend's brain finally returned as he remembered their names. Sierra wanted a horse too and Sage wanted some special basketball. He followed the family to the games because Moses was walking that way too.
Scott smiled. "Moses, win your man a prize!" He winked at Legend. He knew that Moses wouldn't do anything on his own but Scott could tell that Moses liked this man more than any other. He was sure that they had a special bond. He was a hopeful romantic.
Moses glared at his parents and ignored Legend. "No. Not here."
Legend smiled at Moses's glare. He walked up without a word and played a game. He walked back with the biggest alien looking thing. It was green and purple. "I won my own prize." He winked at Moses.
Moses just laughed. "Holy shit! I love that!" He almost melted.
Usually the guy got mad and pouted because he wouldn't do something public for them. This guy just won his own prize and that smile was to die for. This man, Legend, was so sexy and independent. Moses almost drooled.
Miriam and Scott looked at each other and smiled. Miriam loved Legend for her son. She hoped that this guy was the one for Moses. Scott just nodded. Maybe someday Moses would be himself everywhere. They both saw something special between these men.
They got some good carnival food, the bad stuff; Cotton candy, corn dogs, chili cheese fries, and funnel cake. It was a great day. Legend had no idea things like this could be fun with family. He had never been to a carnival before but he wasn't saying anything.
His childhood wasn't exactly awesome. Sure, he wasn't homeless but he wasn't loved either. It was boarding schools and tutors. There was never anything family related.
There were no family meals and certainly no carnivals. This was his first family function. Holy shit! This wasn't even his family! He wasn't actually dating Moses. What was wrong with him? He hated these feelings that suddenly erupted when Moses smiled at him or gave him some cotton candy. These were unfamiliar and scary not to mention confusing because a man was creating these feelings.
