Officially

Dinner was nice but Legend knew it was coming to an end when Moses spoke when dessert was over. By it, he meant that he knew whatever they had was over.

Officially.

Things were weird between him and Moses but this was going to kill him. They were breaking up and they weren't even together. This hurt more than anything he experienced.

"I have something to confess." Moses didn't want to say it. It took so much to just say that part. How could he say they were breaking up?

This was going to kill him. He never wanted to lose Legend and he didn't have him. This was so crazy and stupid. What was wrong with him? Legend was just a guy that he just met...yesterday!

Legend couldn't let him or he couldn't hear Moses say it. "I'm leaving in the morning for another assignment." He looked at Moses. "We are from different worlds and I travel too much."

Miriam gasped. "Are you breaking up?"

Moses nodded. He was silent and relieved that someone else said it out loud. He was sure that he couldn't without crying and he never cried over a break up. He was always relieved when they were gone.

Legend nodded. "Amicably. There is a lot of...space between us. I, uh...Sorry. It was a pleasure to meet you both and Sir, I would love to get an interview with you sometime! You are just amazing!"

Legend stood. "It was... I'm honored to have gotten to meet you all." He rushed from the room in tears.

Moses didn't speak or look up. He was crushed. He never cried after a break up before, never been hurt. This was killing him. The hot tears just streamed down his face. He couldn't stop them either.

Miriam and Scott saw the tears and were shocked. Miriam was up. She wrapped around her son. "You love him, huh?"

Moses shook his head. "No way! We only...it wasn't supposed to happen! I only knew him for a short time!" He was sobbing.

Scott laughed. "Sorry!" He cleared his throat as Miriam glared at him. "About time you found one that crushed you. Are you really going to let him leave?"

Moses nodded. "We.. our lives are too...different! I live here...he lives in New York!"

"I thought he said Chicago?"

"New York. He was just...this all started with a lie. He was trying to help me. It wasn't supposed to be anything." Moses sighed. "I'm sorry. I was stupid. He didn't want to lie to you guys. I'm sorry. I really am."

"So, he isn't a writer?" Scott asked.

"No! He is. That part was true." Moses inhaled. "We weren't dating!" He said that way too loud. He took a breath trying to calm down. His tears never stopped as he wiped them repeatedly.

"We just met like three seconds before you guys walked in yesterday. Derek just left me and Legend just found out I was gay. I made a deal with him; a fake date for an interview. I didn't want to...I don't know! I didn't want to spend the day with you guys as a third wheel and I am supposed to have someone." He kept wiping tears that wouldn't stop.

"Oh, Sweetie. Not all the time. Being alone sometimes is good for your soul. You don't always...it's how you learn about yourself. Maybe you should be alone for a while." Miriam smiled.

Moses nodded. The old him would have never agreed. He was seeing things differently post-Legend.
