Legend Osborn

The Basics:

Legend 0sborn was a reporter for a magazine called All Music. He loved his job and he never had much trouble getting the interviews that he needed. He stayed until he was satisfied. He was good at his job without fail. He never had to worry about his sexuality and never gave it a thought. Sure he had a number of failed relationships with women that he didn't care about but that was okay. He never questioned himself until he met Moses Hardy.

Moses Hardy was the lead singer of a band being interviewed. Moses was against it and denied the interview. He had other things to worry about and he didn't need some nosey reporter finding out his secrets. He didn't trust reporters.

Warning: Suicide is talked about and dealt with in this story. People go through things in life, we should all find help when we need it.

What happens when Moses Hardy breaks up with his most recent man and needs someone to fill in for an outing with his parents. He couldn't fail and go alone like a loser with another break up and the reporter was convenient. In his panic, he blackmails the reporter; A date for an interview.

This couldn't possibly backfire... could it?

What Happened In LA?

Legend Osborn

Legend Osborn sighed. He always hated his name. It wasn't a name, really. Legend? His mother had hoped that he would do great things, be a legend? What was wrong with her?

She loved him so much that she put him in boarding school at the age of eight and never really gave him attention. Boy, that was a lot of sarcasm.

She went on cruises and met men, married and divorced a number of times. His father was no better. He wasn't in the picture since Legend was young. He was too busy and once they got divorced, he wasn't really a dad. Legend may have had money and a trust fund but...he wasn't happy as a child.

Well, he wasn't unhappy as an adult. He loved his job and hated relationships. He didn't really know how to have them. His parents were a terrible example on how to have a stable relationship.

He dated girls in school and in college. His last girlfriend, his longest relationship of two months, just left. She gave him an ultimatum and it backfired. It wasn't the first time either.

"Quit traveling so much or I am leaving. I need more attention than what you are giving me." Valerie glared.

Legend sighed. She was a nice girl but he just wasn't that invested. It sounded mean but he loved his job more than he loved her. He had heard this before. "I am not quitting my job. I love it!" He glared at her.

Valerie huffed. "Fine. I hope you two are very happy together!" She grabbed her bag and stormed out of his loft. The door slammed.

How original. Legend sat on his couch. "We will be happy together! Fuck!" He covered his face. He just got back from an assignment and was ready to leave again. "I am never dating again!" He was talking to no one.

He talked to himself a lot and didn't know if that was normal. "I am not changing my job for anyone. I mean does she know how many countries I have been to? It's a great job. She's just jealous that I was into it more than I was into her." He groaned.

Truth be told, Legend wanted a relationship with someone but no one seemed worth the time. He worked for a magazine that was now online also and he loved it. It was a back to the music type magazine.

Rock and Roll but not exclusive. He was a writer and got to interview some interesting people. He wasn't listing them because it was ten years of people.

Some super famous, some newbies, some no names, some were kind, nice and forthcoming, some not. Some were rude and gave short answers. Legend could fluff a piece though. He made short rude answers work and the article was still nice. He had a way with words.

He got settled and thought about unpacking from his recent trip. The country music star was a talkative one. They had drinks and it was fun. He was very nice and got to stay there for four weeks. Legend started his laundry and got a beer and called his boss.

His boss, Amy Newman, was a good person. She was probably the best person he ever met. They tried to date once a long time ago, before she was the boss. He didn't want people to freak out. It's not that kind of story!

Nothing happened between them; nothing good or bad. It was one date and she never made things awkward. He appreciated that when she became the boss. She was happily married now too and that helped.

"Legend, My favorite writer." This was never a good sign.

"Amy? What now?" Legend sighed. "Valerie just left me."

Amy laughed. "Left you? You mean walked out. You know you were never really together. Are you okay?"

"Yes, I'm fine. New assignment?" Legend smiled. He was ready to move on from that dating experience and vowed to never date again. He wasn't doing that again.

"This is a heads-up kind of thing. There is an offer on the table right now. How about you just come in?" Amy sat at her desk.

Legend laughed. "Is your secretary going to hit on me?"

"Come on, Legend! Have you looked in a mirror! You are sexy as fuck!" Amy chuckled. This was normal for them.

"We are way too close, Boss." Legend smiled. "Tell me more."

"You're a sexy nerd. You have those black thick rimmed glasses and that short beard. Mmm. I don't know how that look works for you, but it does!" Amy smiled. "Your long limbs, blue eyes and your pretty wild dark hair, you know you're sexy, like a sexy nerdy pirate! Come in and let's talk."

"How's the hubby?" Legend chuckled and blushed a little. She was the only person that could make him blush.

"Legend, this is professional and he's magnificent. He had flowers delivered yesterday, lilies and roses. And no, he didn't do anything wrong." Amy smiled. "The sex last night was next level!"

Legend cringed. "No! I'm coming in." He grabbed his messenger bag and was out the door. He didn't want to hear about sex that he wasn't having. He couldn't remember the last time he had good sex, good enough to talk about. He hung up as she was laughing.

I wrote this story a little while ago and it's been sitting here. I do this a lot apparently but here we are. I really enjoyed this one and I always debate publishing them... I hope everyone can enjoy it. It does deal with depression, alcoholism and a suicide attempt so just be aware of this. I didn't plan this story, it just happened so I hope you like it! Enjoy and thanks for reading!!!

Take good care of yourself out there!
