Legend woke to people shouting. It was... the sun was up, eight or something in the morning. He put on his shirt and glasses and walked to the hall and down the stairs.
Two men were shouting. Moses and Derek. Derek was throwing a shirt on and Moses was in his boxer briefs. What in the hell?
"I can't do this, Moses, if that is how you feel. I want more than this. I want to walk out there with you. I feel like a whore!" Derek wiped tears. "I quit. Don't worry. Your little secret is safe with me! I never want to see you again!" Derek was out of the house and the door slammed.
Moses was just standing there, glaring. Derek's hair was...bed head. Was he sleeping with Moses? Was he gay?
Legend had questions that were erased as Moses turned. Gorgeous... man. Holy gorgeous man. He was tan and brown. His skin was beautiful with a nice caramel color. His eyes were a clear blue and his hair was tough to explain.
His hair was spiked and the bottom half was shaved. The strands of black hair looked like short dreadlocks that spiked up all over the top of his head. He loved this look on Moses. Legend inhaled but didn't realize that Moses was charging him like a bull on crack. He was slammed into the wall.
"What are you doing?" Moses was seeing red.
Legend tried to move.
"You the reporter? You report this and I will cut off your balls!" Moses glared. "Clear?"
Reporters were the enemy. He would write about Moses being gay and it would be everywhere and people would hate him. He wasn't ready for that just yet. Or ever. He could never tell people his secret. His career would be over.
Legend nodded. He tried to talk but Moses had his forearm on his throat. He was strong.
"Good." Moses froze as the door opened. He swore. "Play along and I will let you live." He glared.
Legend nodded.
Moses released him but didn't move away as he turned. "Mom. Dad. What are you doing here so early!"
A woman smiled at Moses. "Silly. We're going to the festival...carnival thing. Did you forget? Oh! Is this the new one, Derek?" She smiled at Legend.
Moses sighed and turned red. "No. Derek is gone. This is.." He couldn't remember the reporter's name.
"Legend. Hello." Legend smiled. Moses was gay?
"Oh, sweetie. I'm so sorry. I apologize. It's tough to keep up with all of Moses's men!" She smiled a sweet smile and Legend liked her immediately.
"Are you into him for his money?" The man glared. He was tall and his eyes were blue, his skin was tanned and his black hair in long braids down to his shoulders. He was very attractive.
Legend knew that voice. Shit. Moses's father was famous music legend, Scott Mars! Holy shit. They never met but Scott Mars was a fucking legend! Scott Mars. Legend tried not to squeal and fangirl right here.
Scott Mars created some sick music. Rock, rap, classic and some country. His music was amazing. He was a tall black man but Moses didn't look black?
As he looked closer, Moses did look like a black man but it was more subtle. His mother was a short hispanic woman with pretty brown hair. She was very pretty.
"No! Sir!" Legend smiled from behind Moses, who was still in his boxers.
"Sweetie, take your man and go get dressed. We can have breakfast and get acquainted." His mother smiled.
Moses nodded. "Sure." He took Legend's hand and walked up the stairs. To an outsider, this looked like two lovers walking upstairs, it wasn't. Legend would have a bruise from Moses's grip.
They were in Moses's room as the door shut. "You write about this..." He was seething.
"Moses. Chill. I'm not interested in your personal life. I write about the songs, music and the band. I never write anything too personal and I would never out someone. I don't give a shit. Okay? Clear?" Legend glared at the man glaring at him.
"I'm not some creep. I have standards and I have my own life to live. If I did shady shit like that, I wouldn't be doing this job. Okay. Calm down. I will play along for a price." Legend took this opportunity. "An interview and a good one."
"Or..." Moses glared.
"Or I leave and you explain it." Legend crosses his arms.
"Fuck!" Moses sighed. "Fine. One day with me for an interview. Just don't say anything stupid. What in the fuck is your name?"
He watched the man in his room who he knew nothing about. The reporter was fucking hot! He stared at him. He even made a beard work. How? It was nicely trimmed and not long like a grandpa beard. It was nice. His lips were soft and kissable. So, nice. Holy shit, this guy was sexy!
"Legend Osborn." Legend sighed. This was a terrible idea.
"Right. Legend Osborn." Moses sighed. Even his name was kind of hot. He wore glasses. He looked like a sexy nerd. A very hot sexy nerd. Mmm.
"Go change. Uh, jeans and a t-shirt are fine. We are going to a festival, carnival thing. You know... With rides and games. My niece and nephew wanted to go." Moses explained.
"Okay. I'll just meet you down there. Moses." He waited for Moses to look up. "It's fine. Not a word, I promise."
Moses nodded. "We don't touch each other in public. Clear?" He had no idea if he could trust this stranger.
"Why would I? I'm not gay. It's just a deal. Clear?" Legend smiled and walked to his room. He showered and got dressed. He walked down the stairs and smiled as he sat at the table. People! He loved people.
"What's your name again?" Scott Mars was talking to him.
Legend smiled. "Legend Osborn. Sir. Hello. I'm a huge fan!"
Scott smiled and then it faded. "How long have you known our son?" Scott was being a father right now.
"Uh, not long. This is fairly new." Really new. Like ten minutes ago, new. Legend took a breath.
"So, how did you meet Moses?" Scott wasn't done with the interview.
Legend smiled. "He just broke up with Derek."
I made a deal like a prostitute!
He wasn't saying that. He was at a loss at what to say. How did he explain to Moses Hardy's parents how he met Moses? He hadn't really met Moses. How did this happen? He hated lying to people.
"We got that part... But you're staying here?" Scott glared.
It was early and Legend was here. They walked in and Moses had Legend pressed into the wall by the entryway. Had he just gotten there or was he leaving? Scott didn't want to put that much thought into it really.
Legend inhaled. Shit. How did he explain this? "Yes. But not permanent and different rooms. We're taking things very slow."
"Well, that's different. Usually, Moses kicks them to the curb after...you know." Moses's mom winked. "Sex."
Legend shook his head and crossed his arms to make an X. He overreacted. "No! We haven't done that either. I just...I'm working in town and he offered me a room. That's all. I actually live in Chicago." Why did he just say that? He lived in New York but whatever. Why start being honest? Moses would 'dump' him tomorrow anyway.
"I lived in Chicago for a few years when I was a kid." Scott smiled.
"Oh! It's lovely there, in places." Legend smiled. He had been to Chicago a few times. He had fun times in Chicago.
Moses walked in. He sat beside Legend. "Mom, you guys are early!" He was freaking out a little...a lot. What was he doing? Now, the reporter knew. Great.
"I know. We wanted to get breakfast first." She smiled as she watched the two men. "You two make a cute couple." They were so cute together and Legend was sexy.
Moses was tanned and calm, sleek. Legend was a little wild looking. His long hair and short, dark beard were appealing. She liked him. He was wearing glasses when they walked in the door but he must have put in contacts. He had pretty eyes.
Moses sighed and Legend smiled. "I agree!" He was playing this up. He put his arm around Moses. Moses glared. Legend moved his arm back and chuckled a little.
"Come on, Honey, kiss your man and we can go to breakfast. I know you don't like PDA. It's your last chance to touch him all day!" She smiled.
Moses stood. "I'm good. We're good. Let's get something..."
Scott glared. "Kiss your man already so we can go."
