The Other Side
"GrandMommy?" McKenna asked Travis' mom gently. When Mrs. Wright nodded, McKenna let out a sigh. "Why does Papa not love Daddy anymore?"
"Oh, honey," Mrs. Wright commented, looking down at the eight year old. The green eyed girl held innocence in her eyes. "It's hard right now, for the both of them. Papa just needs his time away from Daddy."
"But that's not how love works," McKenna pointed out. "Love is when you never get tired of the person that you are with, even when they get you angry. I get mad at Daddy and Papa all the time, but I never want to leave them. Love, don't leave."
Mrs. Wright bit her lip and looked up to see Travis standing there. He couldn't believe what his daughter was saying. At only eight years old,
McKenna Rosalyn Wright explained love in just a couple words.

Scott sighed happily when he came into the Kirk household, loving the safety and warmth it offered ever since the Kirks moved in there. Sara and Matt hugged Scott, being careful of his chest. His chest bone had to wired shut because it had to be broken in order for the tumor to be removed. Alex came in, kissing Scott's temple carefully.
"Hey," Mitch spoke up, hugging Scott carefully. The both of them stayed in the embrace until Mitch let go, sighing sadly. "I h-ha-ave some b-ba-ad news."
"Is Dad okay?" Scott asked immediately, his whispery voice calming Mitch down. "He has to be."
"I'm s-su-ure he is," Mitch reassured softly, rubbing Scott's arm. "It's a-ab-bout the sur-rg-er-ery."
"Okay," Scott replied, walking into the living room. He sat down on a chair and patted on a cushion, telling Mitch to sit down. "Sit down, Mitchy!"
"I t-th-hink you all n-ne-ed to sit down," Mitch suggested, watching as everyone sat down. He sat down next to Scott, grasping his hand tightly. "I love you, Scott."
"What's the matter?" Scott asked, getting terrified. "Please tell me."
"O-ok-kay," Mitch whispered, a solitary tear running down his cheek. He didn't look at Alex, Sara, or Matt. "Y-yo-ur t-tu-mor re-re-sults came back."
"You mean from the surgery?" Scott asked, his whispery voice lowering down to a whisper that is quieter than a mouse. When Mitch nodded, Scott sighed and closed his eyes. "Just tell me."
"You h-ha-ave hi-high-ly a-gre-ssive-ve c-ca-an-cer. I'm so so-so-rry, Scott."
In that moment, the Kirks realized that they need to become stronger than ever.

Kirstin walked into the dance studio and watched as Ariana did a double pirouette and ended in an arabesque. She smiled and walked in the studio too, setting her bag down. Ariana looked back to see Kirstin standing there. She sighed heavily and went up to radio to stop the music. All stayed quiet until Kirstin spoke up.
"I planned the next dance," she informed Ariana, walking up to her. Ariana nodded, not noticing how Kirstin got closer. "I have a name for it too."
"What is it?" Ariana asked, still not looking at her wife. She didn't remove the hand that went on her shoulder. "Tell me, Sunshi-Kirstin."
Kirstin frowned when Ariana almost said her nickname. She then stood in front of Ariana, standing in front of her. She stood in front position, her back straight and neck tall.
"It's called 'I regret kissing her and there is nothing I want more than for you to forgive me'," Kirstin admitted, noticing how Ariana's eyes widened a bit. "It also has a second name. It's called 'I'm so stupid and you have every right to file a divo-."
She got interrupted when a pair of lips met hers. The couple stayed there for a while, enjoying the feeling of being loved again. Ariana then separated from the kiss and touched Kirstin's face gently.
"I could never divorce with you," Ariana murmured lovingly, kissing Kirstin's nose. "But, uh, next time...leave the dance names to me, okay? You need to work those."

Mitch could hear Alex cry softly in the living room. He then walked in there and noticed his brother-in-law holding his wedding picture. The both of them look so youthful and happy, not having any cares. They were kings of the worlds at that moment. Alex set the picture down and cried his hands, wanting everything to be okay.
"A-al-lex?" Mitch called out, getting Alex's attention. He turned around, wiping his tear. "Scott w-wi-ill be o-ok-kay."
"I know," Alex answered as another wave of tears ran down his face. "He has too, Mitch. I can't lose him."
Mitch nodded as hugged Alex, running his hands softly through the dark blond hair. Alex cried quietly, wanting tonight to end. He wants everything to be okay.
It will be, Alex.
Alex then raised an eyebrow in confusion. That sounded like...but it couldn't be. Right?

Lilliana dialed a number on her phone, hoping that the other person will pick up. It did after the third ring and she sighed heavily.
"What's the matter, Lill?"
"Everything, Sara" Lilliana yelled, shaking her head. When Sara didn't respond, she began to rant. "My moms aren't getting a divorce."
"Isn't that a good thing?" Sara asked, her soft voice angering Lilliana. "I would be happy. Why are you mad?"
"Because my mom cheated," Lilliana argued, slamming down a picture of her parents hugging her. "She kissed another woman!"
"Who kissed her first," Sara pointed out. "Yes, that's wasn't right for her to do, but at least she apologized. Auntie Kirstin still loves Auntie Ariana."
"No she doesn't," Lilliana yelled, her hand gripping the phone. Sara tried to speak, but Lilliana spoke over her. "It's not fair! Mama does not deserve Mom! You wouldn't understand! You wouldn't understand what an unfair life if it bit you on the nose, little rich girl!"
"You know what, Lilliana Christine?" Sara yelled back, striking fear in the only Grande child. Sara rarely yelled. Her timid nature made her soft spoken so it always shocked everyone when she yelled angrily. "I do know what unfair is! Just because I'm rich doesn't mean my life isn't unfair! My DAD, Uncle Scotty to you, has FLIPPING CANCER! I DO know what an unfair life is!
My other dad is currently sobbing his eyes out because he doesn't want to lose the love of his life! My dads act like how GrandGrands Avi and Kevin acted! He loves him so much and he doesn't want to lose him!
"So yes, I do know what unfair is. Be happy Auntie Ari isn't losing Auntie Kirstin. Good riddance, Lilliana. I hope you have a good life."
Sara then hung up and Lilliana allowed a tear to run down her cheek.
Uncle Scotty has cancer.
She stood up and got out of her room, calling for her moms.
Uncle Scotty has cancer.
"Yes, Lilli?" Kirstin called out, smiling when she her daughter. The smile then faltered when she saw Lilliana's tears. "Baby, what's the matter?"
Uncle Scotty has cancer.
"I need Mommy," Lilliana told her mom, her voice quiet. Ariana then came out of the kitchen, noticing Lilliana's tears. "It's about Uncle Scotty."
Uncle Scotty....
"What's the matter?" Ariana asked, remembering about the surgery. "Is everything okay?"
"No."
Has cancer.
"Uncle Scotty has cancer."
Kirstin began to cry. Ariana held her close, feeling the tears wet her shirt. Lilliana then went back upstairs, texting Sara.
//I'm so sorry. Please forgive me.\\
Lilliana then put her phone done, hoping to get a text. The both of them are so close. They've been through everything together. Now this friendship could be over.
"Please answer me, Sara."
Sara did not say anything for the rest of the night.
A/N: Boy, this chapter though. I considered divorcing Ari and Kirst, but I didn't have the heart to do so. They are too cute to separate(#Kirstiana forever, lol). Also, McKenna is an intelligent little girl. She will be a VERY big factor towards Mitch and Travis' relationship. Also, sorry about Lilliana. There's always that character that causes drama. Alex noticed Avi so that's good! Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed the chapter and I love you all!!!!
