Saved...Once Again
(WARNING: death, mentions of rape)
Mitch closed his eyes, expecting to feel pain. He opened them slowly to find out that Mark and Nash were no longer hold in onto him. Matthew looked at him wide eyed, gun still his hand. Charlotte was in front of him, blood flowing out of her chest slowly. Mitch gasped as he went down to hold Charlotte's hand, shaking slightly.
"Char-char-lotte," Mitch whispered, tearing up a bit. Charlotte smiled up at him, putting her hand on his face. "Why di-di-id you do th-th-at?"
"I wanted you to survive," the older woman admitted, coughing a bit. "I out you so much. Consider this as my way of saying I'm sorry."
"But you're dyi-dyi-ing," Mitch told her, shaking his head. Charlotte nodded as she closed her eyes one last time. "Th-th-ank you for saving my fam-fam-ily."
Charlotte stopped breathing.

The police came quickly, arresting Mitch's high school bullies. It turns out they also sexually abused Lilliana for 'breaking their trust' and will be in jail for some time. The policeman nodded at the family and looked back at his car.
"An ambulance will be here in a few. I understand that someone passed away and the other one passed out?"
"Yes. The one who passed away is a...old friend and the passed out one is my brother's husband,"Scott answered, brushing Sara's hair back carefully. She held onto him like he was the last person on Earth. "Thank you for coming."
"Of course," the police officer replied, nodding at Scott. He then looked at the Grandes and frowned. "She will have to have a rape test. We have to see if the results come back as positive so that we can have proof when we bring them into court."
"Okay," Ariana responded, holding onto Lilliana tightly. The twelve year old never was this traumatized before. "Thank you so much."
"Of course," the officer confirmed, nodding his head. He looked at Alex and Matt, who refused to separate from each other. "He's a strong one."
"Of course, but he doesn't want the credit. He said that his sister made him stronger," Alex confirmed, smiling at his son. Matt blushed as he looked at his feet. "He's a good kid."
"That he is," the officer agreed, nodding his head. Scott walked to his siblings, not wanting to leave them. "You three are okay now. Nothing bad is going to happen. They're gone."
"I know. Thank you for coming," Kirstin told the officer quietly, her blond hair falling past her cheeks. McKenna stood behind her, tired and wanting to go home. "We really are thankful for you."
The officer nodded happily while Mitch looked at him carefully, feeling like he saw him before. He gasped happily and hugged him tightly, smiling hugely.
"Hi, Tyler."
The officer laughed as he hugged Mitch back, happy to see his old friend again. Scott smiled to himself, not even realizing that this was his friend from junior high.
"That's Officer Oakley to you," Tyler replied, laughing as he let go of the hug. The ambulance then came and a couple of E.M.Ts hopped out. "Well, I better get going. See you all later."
Mitch nodded as he watched the police car drive off. An E.M.T came back out with Travis on a gurney and Mitch ran to it quickly, hoping that Travis is okay. Another one came out with a body bag in hand, making Mitch focus on Travis. He can't believe Charlotte did that for him. The E.M.T was about to close the back doors when Mitch stopped in front of them.
"He's my hus-hus-band," Mitch confirmed, hoping to get on the ambulance. The E.M.T nodded as she allowed him to get on. "Tha-tha-ank you."
Mitch took Travis' hand right away, kissing it gently. He smiled to himself, finally happy. He has everything he wanted. His family is okay and everybody is back together.
My journey is over.
Mitch smiled to himself as he looked up at the ceiling of the ambulance, hoping that Avi saw him.
*Yeah, it is. I'll miss you, Papa.*
I'll miss you too, Mitchy. You're happy again and that's all I wanted. I love you, buddy.
"I love you too, Papa."
Avi didn't reply.

(Four months later)
"Are you ready?" Scott asked, his blue eyes shining. He ended treatment no longer than a month ago. It was hard because he had to leave all the nurses that he made friendships with, but he is better now. He was confirmed cancer free last month and he is getting better everyday! "Mitch, everything is going to be okay."
"I kn-kn-ow. I'm ner-ner-vous."
"I know," Kirstin replied, looking at her brother. She forgot the last time he was in a hospital gown. "The surgery will go as planned."
Mitch nodded as he saw Scott looking around in a bag. The blond hair grew back fast, looking a bit spiky. Scott smiled as he took out a book, smiling at Mitch. Mitch took it and gasped to himself, looking at Scott.
"It's my newest book," Scott began, looks at the cover proudly. He chuckled to himself, looking back at Mitch. "I hope that you don't mind that I wrote this."
Mitch looked at the cover, which was a picture of the Olusola family. It was the summer when he got the stutter, when everything changed. They are all smiling, not knowing of the events that will take place that summer. The title "What Happened All Together" was on there proudly while Scott's name was at the bottom. Mitch flipped through the pages, looking at Scott happily.
"My publicist liked the idea. I dedicated it to you."
Sure enough, there was a message written for Mitch on the first page. The message made Mitch smile brightly and brighten up his heart.
Dedicated to the strongest person I know, my brother Mitch. I am so lucky to call you my brother.
"Th-th-ank you," Mitch whispered, hugging Scott tightly. He let go and hugged Kirstin, smiling softly. "I love you two so much."
"We love you too. Lilliana and the other kids would be here, but they're in therapy. I'm so proud of Lilliana. She's doing so well."
Mitch nodded, thinking of Sara, Matt, Lilliana, and McKenna. The four of them became closer afterwards. Lilliana was probably the most traumatized from the events that took place. It took her a while to trust her uncles and Matt again, but she is starting to be more comfortable around them. She makes sure to take her medicine daily and if she is about to run out, she tells her moms. She is doing well mentally now.
"Come on, guys. I want to talk to my husband."
Scott and Kirstin walked out, smiling at Travis. Travis smiled at Mitch and kissed him softly, not wanting to let go.
"This surgery is so complex. You could-"
"I won't," Mitch promised, kissing Travis. A doctor came in with a bed that has wheels on it and Mitch walked to it, smiling at Travis. "I love you."
"I love you too, Mitchy."
Travis watched as Mitch went on the bed, wanting to hold him one last time before the surgery began. He closed his eyes, wanting him to be okay.
~~~
Travis paced around the room, trying his best to be patient. Scott and Kirstin watched him while Alex and Ariana slept, exhausted from how long they have been waiting. Twelve hours have passed and the surgery was taking forever to end. A doctor then walked in, blood on his gloves. He looked serious, which caused Travis to stop. He nodded, wanting to know the news.
"Well?!" Travis yelled, scaring the doctor. Alex and Ariana woke up, jumping at Travis' voice. "How's my husband?!"
"Well..."
"Well what?!"
"Travis..."
"Don't calm me down! What's wrong with my husband?!"
The doctor sighed as sat Travis down. He looked at everyone once more before revealing the news.
"The surgery was more complex and effective than we thought."
"What does that mean?"
The doctor began to smile, which made everyone nod impatiently. Travis nodded the hardest, wanting to know the news right away. The doctor took a deep breath, finally revealing the news.
"Mitch's stutter is 100% gone. The surgery was a miracle!"
A/N: PLOT TWIST! I wanted to be cruel and make Mitch have the stutter forever, but I decided to be nice.:) The last chapter will be coming out tomorrow.:( I'm so sad to see it go. Anyways, I hope that you all enjoyed the chapter and remember that I love you all.:)
