Realizations

Kirstin drove to the Kirk household as fast as she can in under two hours. Ariana held her hand, gripping it tightly. Lilliana stared at her phone, hoping that Sara will answer.

She didn't.

Kirstin then stopped the car in front of the house. She jumped out, not waiting for Ariana or Lilliana. The both of them jumped out too, walking behind Kirstin. Ariana made it to the door and held Kirstin when she began to cry heavily. She then rang the doorbell, hoping that someone will answer. The door then opened, revealing Sara.

"Oh, hey guys," she replied, glaring a bit at her cousin. "I answered the door because not all rich people have maids and butlers do it for them."

Kirstin and Ariana shared a look of confusion. Lilliana bit her lip from crying or yelling at her cousin. Sara then hugged her aunts and ignored her cousin. Sara let them three of them walked in and they all noticed Scott looking a bit healthier after his surgery.

"Scott?" Kirstin asked, getting his attention. He nodded as he walked up to her. "Please be okay. I'm begging you."

"I will," he reassured, rubbing her back. "Did Lilli tell you?"

"Yeah," Kirstin answered, refusing to let go of her brother. She then noticed Mitch around the corner and gestured for him to come over. "I want to hug you both."

Mitch nodded, going up to his siblings. They hugged each other, refusing to let go of each other. They don't want to lose each other.

~~~
Mitch left another therapy session early. He cried the minute he walked in. His therapist let him go home and told him that she hoped Scott would be okay. Ha, like she really cared.
Mitch.
"W-wh-hat, Papa?" Mitch asked angrily, going into his car. He began to drive, shaking his head.
She cares, buddy. It might not seem like that, but she does.
"I do-on-n't k-kn-now why she is do-doing this," Mitch replied, his eyes getting watery. He began to cry heavily, closing his eyes. "I w-wa-ant you!"
I know, but I'm happier. Watch your dad for me, okay? He needs you, okay? Go see him. For me.
~~~

Kevin stood up, touching his wedding picture gently. He smiled a bit and kissed it. He then looked around his room, not liking how desolate it looked. His door then opened, showing his caretaker. He smiled at him.

"Hello, Todrick," Kevin greeted. His caretaker smiled and allowed a young man to come in. "Who is this?"

"Your son, Mitch," Todrick replied, smiling at the younger man. "He wants to talk to you."

Kevin nodded as Todrick left. Mitch sighed and went up to his father, smiling slightly.

"Hi, Dad," Mitch began, sitting down on a kitchen chair. Kevin repeated his actions, a confused look still sketched onto his face. "I ne-ne-ed to ta-ta-alk to you."

"What is it?" Kevin asked, wondering why this man was talking to him. He then noticed the man taking out a picture. He set it down, looking up at his dad. "What is this?"

"C-ch-heck it out," Mitch told him quietly, watching as Kevin turned it around. He could feel himself tear up when his father gasped. "I k-kn-now. I d-di-id the s-sa-ame when I saw it."

Kevin shook slightly, staring down at the picture. It was the picture of the Olusola family when Mitch got married. Avi is hugging him tightly, exhaustion in his eyes. Treatment was always so hard on him. Kirstin and Scott are hugging Mitch and Mitch has the biggest smile on his face.

"Do you k-kn-now who ev-ev-ve-ry-one is?" Mitch asked, hoping that Kevin will know who they are.

"That's me," Kevin began, pointing to himself. Mitch laughed and nodded happily. "That's Avi, that's you, that's. Scott, and that's Kirstin. Am I right?"

Mitch nodded as tears rolled down his cheeks. He hugged Kevin tightly, crying softly. Kevin hugged him back, rubbing his back gently.

See? He's okay. Tell him I love him."

"I love you too, Avi."

Mitch widened his eyes surprisingly. He can't believe it! Could Kevin hear him too?

Yes, I can. He could hear me because his time is coming. We're going to be together again. You could hear me because you are the main focus of my journey.

Mitch bit his lip, hugging Kevin for what seemed like the last time. He sighed heavily, waving goodbye to Kevin.

"I love you, Mitch," Kevin replied, waving goodbye. Mitch smiled and waved back.

"I love you too, Dad."

Mitch then left, praying that when Kevin leaves, everything will be okay. It has to be.

It will. Yes, he may be leaving, but he'll be okay. We'll be together again. When that happens, it will be hard, but you will be happy because everything will get together like it's supposed to. I love you, buddy.

~~~
Matt noticed Lilliana staring longingly at Sara. Sara then rolled her eyes and stood up, going into her room. Matt then sat next to his cousin, rubbing her back.
"Why so glum, chum?" Matt asked in a silly voice. Lilliana didn't smile like she always does when he makes a funny voice. "Why didn't you smile?"
"I'm a jerk," Lilliana answered, shaking her head. Matt tilted his head. "I'm the reason why my moms almost divorced."
"Oh," Matt responded. "How?"
"I told my mom that my other mom kisses another woman," Lilliana answered. "They then got back together and I ranted about it to Sara. I then said she wouldn't know an unfair life if it bit her on the nose. I'm a terrible person, Matt."
"Yeah, you are," Matt agreed, causing Lilliana to look at him sadly. His kind grey eyes held disappointment in them. "Sara has had an unfair life. I don't even want to talk about it. She suffers from a lot, but she never complains about it. She has an unfair life, but she always thinks about the positives. So yeah, you're a jerk and you should be ashamed of yourself."
Lilliana was then left alone. She began to cry, wondering how she could make everything okay again.
~~~

Alex kissed Scott's temple softly, the scar prominent in the moonlight. The scar saved his husband's life.

"Thank you. Thank for giving me more time with him. Thank you so, so much."

~~~
Mitch looked out the window, Avi close to him
"Papa?"
Yes, Mitch?
"Will Dad be o-ok-kay? You k-kn-now when he d-di-es?"
Of course. He's dying of a broken heart. When he comes to Heaven, his heart will be fixed.
"Papa?"
Yes?
"If he d-die-es and I di-id-n't get to say go-od-od-bye to him, co-co-uld you tell him t-th-hat I l-lo-ove him?"
Of course, buddy. Go to sleep, okay? You need it.
Mitch nodded as he got into bed, praying that Kevin will be okay. Unbeknownst to him, Lilliana walked by the door when he was talking to Avi. She then walked downstairs, hoping to get someone's attention.
"Mama?"
"Yes, Lilli?" Kirstin asked, noticing how sad Lilliana looked. "What's wrong?"
"Uncle Mitch needs to go to a mental institution."
A/N: Yeah, Lilliana is the most hated character in this book, lol. Yes, Kevin is going to leave. I don't when though. It might be towards the end, maybe earlier. Also, Different got 1K votes! It also got some really cute artwork so I'm excited about that! Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed the chapter annnndddd I love you all!!!:)
