Okay...

This is a rant.

At my college, we have these things called 'Blue Lights'. They look like this.

At my college, they look a little bit different. Anyway...

What they do is if you are in a situation that is very dangerous ( i.e someone has a gun, someone is trying to hurt/rape/kill you) ,you run to one of these and press one or town of these buttons.

They are the campus security and police station. You press it and a blue light will come on and notify the campus that there is something going on campus. There is also a 360° camera so it could revied everything that is happening. And after you osih it...

You have to run to the place that is closest to you. Do not stop until you reach safety.

This is supposed to be very helpful and resourceful, but I hope I don't ever want to use it.

Why?

The closest Blue Lights to my dorm...

Is more than 50 or so feet away from my dorm and brother dorm.

Yeah...

I'm scared.

If the campus security or police don't come in time, I have no choice but run to the closest place to me.

But what happens if all the places by me are closed besides dorms that could have sleeping people in them?

Do I run to my dorm and hope that I get hurt, raped, or murdered or a mix of two or three???

This was a problem I brought up for a survey and the person giving the survey wrote it down so I'm hoping that it'll happen.

But what if it doenst happen in time?

Someone could be terribly injured...

And that someone could be one of my friends.

Or me.

And that's terrifying.
