Third Person POV
"Are you serious?!" Nyle yelled out as an image of Zarkon's ship appears up at the front.
"Zarkon! How did he find us?" Allura exclaimed loudly.
"His commanders must have radioed him from Olkarion," Keith responded while looking at the image.
"We need to wormhole, now! Everyone to your stations. We've got to put some distance between us and Zarkon. This could be the fight of our lives." Shiro yelled, everybody, starting to go to their stations and getting ready.
"That's sure a lot of fighters," Hunk mentioned as blasts kept hitting the castle.
"Allura, can you evade these fighters?" Shiro started. "We can't have them following us through the wormhole."
"I can try," Allura replies.
"Keith, Lance, let's lay down some covering fire," Shiro states firmly to the two boys.
The controls for the fighter drones appeared in front of them as they started firing at the Galra fighters.
"Lance, incoming, 12 o'clock high!" Pidge yelled out.
"Got it!" Lance yelled before Keith shoved his drone out of the way, shooting the fighter. "Hey!"
"Sorry! Gotta be quick!" Keith yelled back.
Lance hit his drone into Keith's. "How's that for quick?"
"You..." Keith muttered under his breath as they started bashing against each other's drones.
"Knock it off, you two! Stay in your zones!" Shiro yelled towards the boys.
"Yeah, Keith!" Lance yelled towards the said boy.
"Keep calling out those fighters, Pidge." Shiro started. "Hunk, Nyle, how are the defenses holding?"
"I don't know," Hunk whined. "Ten percent? Fifteen maybe? Everything's a blur. I've been up too long. I have tired eyes!"
Nyle yawned and rubbed her eyes, trying to shake off the tiredness. "I can't tell what's different right now Shiro."
"I know we just came off an intense battle, but we've got to stay focused, just until we jump." Shiro states.
Nyle furrowed her eyebrows and leaned back while huffing. "And when would that be exactly?"
"They're still too close! We need to gain more speed!" Coran yelled out.
"I've got an idea! Hold on!" Allura exclaimed out as she started speeding towards a planet.
"Allura, what are you doing?" Pidge questioned, nervously.
"I'm going to use this moon's gravity to gain speed and put some distance between us and Zarkon," Allura responded.
As Allura zoomed around the moon, everybody struggled to stay in their seats until Coran shouted. "We're clear to wormhole!"
A wormhole opens in front of the castle before they were flung into it. The wormhole closed right before any of the fighters could follow. Even though they were in the wormhole away from the Galra, their alarms were still blaring.
"We got away from Zarkon, how come we're still on alert?" Lance questioned as something in Altean popped up on the screen.
"Coran what the hell happened?!" Nyle yelled, holding onto her seat tightly.
"Oh, no! Teludav lens malfunction! We're about to exit this wormhole a lot sooner than we planned!" Coran responded, shouting.
The wormhole put the castle in an asteroid belt of ice. "Where are we? Looks like some sort of iceberg graveyard." Lance mentioned while bringing up some kind of scan on his station.
"Coran, what's the status?" Allura asked, sounding a little out of breath.
"Checking that now. We didn't make it to our exit point, but we're several galaxies from Zarkon's fleet." Coran responded while looking through some scans.
Allura collapsed on the ground and everybody called to her, rushing over to her.
Oh, no, you look exhausted. You must rest. You've been exerting way too much energy. I'll go check on the main turbine and figure out what's going—" Coran interrupted himself, slipping and going into a wall.
"Are you all right?" Lance asked, everybody, looking at Coran.
"I'm fine. Look, I tell you what, I've probably hit a slippery spot on the ground there. Someone, please wipe that up there!" Coran exclaimed, pointing to a line of wetness that led up to him.
"You're sweating," Allura started. "You might have a case of the slipperies."
"What? No! No, that's an old person virus, and I'm not old. I'm young," Coran states as he held out his hands, a ball of sweat forming in his hand before he put his hands behind his back. "Well, young-ish."
"What are the slipperies?" Lance asked, looking towards Allura.
"It's a common Altean virus that occurs, later...in life," Allura started. "It's not harmful and usually only lasts a couple of days, but it causes one's body to secrete extremely slick fluid."
Everyone scrunched up their noses and backed away from Coran, making noises of disgust. "Ew, gross!"
"Yes, it is gross, so it's a good thing I don't have it!" Coran exclaimed.
"Coran, it's nothing to be embarrassed about," Allura responds.
"I'm not embarrassed because I don't have it! And, now, I'm actually going to leave because I've got to fix the main turbine!" Coran said, turning to walk away but slipped and started sliding down the hall. "Quiznack!"
"All right," Shiro started saying. "Since Zarkon has no idea where we are, this is the perfect time to focus on our next step. Maybe we can find that secret group, the Blade of Marmora. Pidge, where are those coordinates?"
"Wait, hang on. I'm so tired, my brain's not working." Pidge says tiredly while sitting up.
"Shiro, not everyone is doing too hot right now. You know we're all tired right?" Nyle says while leaning back in her seat.
Just then, Coran's face popped up on the big screen. "Hello, all!" He started. "I've checked the engines."
"That was fast," Lance commented.
"Well, I slipped right down I mean, hurried down. Anyway, the good news is, the Galra fighter did minimal damage. I flushed the turbine and it's fine. The bad news is, the teludav, or wormholer, as you Earthlings call it, is in bad shape. Several scaultrite lens-stones of the magnifying beam generator are cracked. As you know, the magnifying beam generator uses a crystal to convert Altean energy into usable fuel. That supplies the power needed to create a wormhole. Well, anyway, I need to remove the cracked lenses and readjust their trajectory temporarily until we can replace them. I'll also need to divert power to make up for the lost energy. Anyway, it's going to take at least a quintant." Coran rambled on before finally finishing his rant.
"All right. We'll hide the ship and get some rest while Coran comes up with a work-around," Shiro states, looking to his team. "Tomorrow, we'll be sharper and refocused."
Nyle got up and rubbed her back while biting her lip, remembering what Ryner had said to her about baths before going to Allura. "Hey, Princess?"
Allura looked towards the teen and gave her a smile. "Yes? Do you need something Nyle?"
"Yeah, does this castle have like a pool or something I could relax in?"
"It does. It's on the top level. Oh and, I wouldn't recommend using any of the elevators for the time being. Especially since Coran and Pidge are diverting power from the non-essential things. By the way, you can use one use of my bathing suits."
Nyle smiled towards Allura and nodded. "That's nice of you princess. I'll be sure to take good care of it."
"Don't worry about it Nyle. And be careful, going up the stairs. Sometimes they can be a little slippery." Allura states while smiling softly.
"Ok, thanks, princess. I'll be sure to do that." Nyle smiled at Allura before walking off to go to her room to pick out a bathing suit.
She found one that was kinda similar to the one she had back home before trying it on. She smiled when she saw that it fit her.
"Wow, I actually look really nice." She said to herself and started heading towards where Allura said the pool was, walking right past the elevators.
Hunk POV
"Uh, I thought you were exhausted. Why are you making cookies?" I heard Pidge say to me and I looked over.
"Because baking clears my head, Pidge. Okay? I thought you were gonna help Coran with the wormholer."
"One mention of the slipperies and he got all sensitive and kicked me out," Pidge says while looking at the label of the stuff I was baking with. "I hate not being able to read Altean. What is this stuff? Are you sure you're making food?"
"You're gonna try and tell me that these aren't cookies?" I asked while taking the pan out of the oven, biting on one. But it was really hard and didn't even break. Okay, I might have overcooked them," I said to myself.
I turned to say something to Pidge but I saw that she was leaving. "Wait, where are you going? You don't want to wait for the next batch?"
She just kept walking and I rolled my eyes, staying in the kitchen with my weird little cookies.
Nyle POV
Oh dear, Jesus Christ, these stairs are gonna be the death of me. There aren't as many as I thought there'd be but being pregnant doesn't help my case at all and I hate it so much. This better be worth it when I get there.
I finally managed to get there and as soon as I got there, I swear I could've kicked over everything in sight. The pool is on the goddamn ceiling! What the hell is this bullshit?!
I yelled out in frustration but a small pain in my back stopped me from completely raging out of my mind. Even my daughter is telling me to shut up. Wow, rude much Mereida?
I sighed and just shook my head, sitting under the pool while leaning back. I started hearing something up in the vents, it honest-to-god sounded like screaming. I stood up, seeing Keith and Lance fall from it. My eyes widen and I ran, or waddled, over to them. "You guys ok?!"
They looked up at me and got up, nodding. "Yeah, we're fine Ny," Keith responded while rubbing the back of his head.
"Where's the pool? Allura said it was here." Lance asked and I shook my head.
"Look up genius." I pointed out while narrowing my gaze.
"What the heck?!" Lance exclaimed as both the boys looked up.
"Stupid Altean pools," Keith muttered under his breath.
I laughed a little before shaking my head, rolling my eyes. "Calm down, it's not the end of the world."
We just sat and talked for a while before the ship rocked, the pool coming down and picking us up before throwing us back down. "What the heck was that about?" Lance exclaimed.
"I think that's our cue to get to the bridge!" I yelled and got up, running towards the bridge with the boys right behind me.
Once we got there, Zarkon's command ship was there with fighters attacking us from all angles. We sat down at our seats, seeing fighters attacking from all angles.
"They found us again? How is that possible? Is that possible? That doesn't seem possible!" Lance yelled out.
"Right now, we must figure out a way to get out of here," Allura exclaimed as the whole team started to get themselves prepared to fight.
"Or we can stay and fight. Now's our chance. Form Voltron. Enough running!" Keith added.
'That's a stupid idea right now Keith.'
"It's too dangerous!" Allura yelled back at Keith.
"Allura's right," Shiro started. "We can't take on Zarkon and his entire fleet. Remember what happened at Zarkon's command center. We wouldn't have escaped if the Blade of Marmora hadn't shut down the shield."
"The turbine's up!" Coran yelled as he came up on the screen. "Still working on the worm--" He stopped talking when he slipped, continuing when he got back up. "Uh, guys, I think I'm realizing now that I do, in fact, have a case of the slipperies. I'm sorry I yelled at you, Pidge. I may need your help, after all."
"I'm coming down," Pidge yelled as she stood up before leaving the rest of us on the bridge.
"Let's clear a path," Shiro stated firmly before him, Lance, and Keith started controlling drones that could put some defense on us.
Hunk and I were keeping an eye on the castle's vitals, especially since Pidge and Coran were gonna be diverting power.
I kinda put myself in this zone to keep power balanced within the castle, but then everything started to drop extremely low from almost everything. 'Oh no, this isn't good at all.'
I snapped back out of my zone and looked up. Everything was going off, and I mean absolutely everything. "We lost secondary controls! Thermal regulator's offline!" Hunk yelled, a hint of panic in his voice.
"We lost the particle barrier! Thrusters are starting to fail! Guys if you take much more the castle will have no power!" I yelled at Coran and Pidge through the screen.
"Okay, try it! We should be able to make one very small jump I hope." Coran exclaimed loudly.
Allura powered up the wormhole and we managed to get through without any Galra following behind us.
As soon as the wormhole closed we came out of it. What is going on right now? How does he keep finding us? Surely it can't be anything on the castle, can it? I mean we would've seen it right?
I swear I'm too exhausted to even think about anything. But I need to stay awake until we fix the Teleduv. "Zarkon keeps finding us," Shiro started, breaking me out of my trance. "It's like... he knows how to track us down. Maybe he planted some kind of tracking device."
Allura shook her head at that. "Well, it is nothing on the ship," She started. "The Castle would have detected any tracking devices."
"Until we figure out exactly how he's doing it, we should assume that he could show up at any minute. So, stay alert." Shiro stated.
I heard snoring and looked back before seeing Hunk asleep. He had a snot bubble coming from his nose and when it popped he woke up yelling. "Oh, man! Oh, what's going on?" He yelled before looking at us. "What are you guys doing? What are you looking at?"
I rolled my eyes and slowly started getting up. "Your loud snoring woke you up."
"My bad," Hunk says back with a shy smile.
I laughed a little and shake my head, turning back.
"Coran, what's our status?" Shiro started. "Any good news?"
"Actually, there is a bit of good news," Coran exclaimed, 'skating' around the room with a trail of sweat. "I'm finally getting used to these slipperies. My mucus glands are working at an incredible rate!"
"Any good news about the teludav?" Shiro asked, crossing his arms.
"I'm afraid not," Coran started to explain. "The last jump overloaded the lens-stones. Now, even more of them are broken. I'm going to try some readjustments to change the beam trajectory. Until then, wormholing away will be impossible."
"Hey, there's a giant metallic storm ahead of us. I think we can hide in the eye of the storm. It should give off enough interference so we can't be tracked." Pidge stated to us.
"It's worth a shot," Shiro spoke, Allura flying the castle to the storm.
"Brilliant, Pidge," Allura praised. "We're essentially invisible to any radar, radio waves, universal scans, or any other known technology."
Just as we were about to finally take a breather, the alarms started to sound and Zarkon's ship came into view to us.
I heard Allura mumble something under her breath but I couldn't quite hear it. I was busier about how Zarkon found us!!
"Okay, I don't know how he found us, but it definitely wasn't with normal instruments," Pidge spoke as fighters started hurdling towards us.
"It's me," Allura started. "It's been me all along. That's how they found us on planet Arus."
"It doesn't matter, Princess," Shiro started. "We're in this together. We're gonna get out together."
"How exactly are we supposed to do that?" I yelled out "We're trapped, Shiro!"
"We need to form Voltron and go through the storm," Shiro responded.
"The storm?" Lance yelled out. "What are you, nuts?"
"Yeah! What do you mean? Yeah, why would we do that?" Hunk shouted, panicking.
"It's risky, I know," Shiro started. "But it's our only chance. We have to go through the storm, then lure Zarkon's ship away, giving Allura some time to get into open space."
"Then what?" Allura spoke as she looked at Shiro.
"Then, we wormhole away," Shiro stated. "Coran, remember how you said getting this Castle to wormhole is impossible? Well, I need you to do the impossible."
Everybody got up and Shiro stopped me from leaving, turning to me. "Nyle you stay here and try to help Coran as much as you can. We don't need you to form Voltron and we can't risk all of us being out there at the same time. And since Pidge is with us, you're our next best bet for help."
I sighed and nodded before biting my lip. "Yeah, I'll see what I can do here."
I quickly went and put on my armor before going down to the teleduv room with Coran. "So what do I do?"
Coran pointed to a hologram with a bunch of readings on it. "Go over there and look at the teleduv's vitals while I look at the structural damage."
I nod and quickly waddled over to it, almost falling over at how bad the vitals were. "Oh no. Coran, we're in trouble. This thing isn't even gonna create a wormhole."
He looked over at me after looking over the damage to the teleduv. "It's gone kerplewy! We're done for Nyle!"
I blinked a few times and swallowed my spit. "W-we can fix it."
Just then Shiro's face popped up on one of the holograms. "How's it coming along you two?"
"In order for this to work, each remaining lens-stone will need to take the equivalent of five beams! There's no way it can hold that kind of power! The whole thing will explode!" Coran yelled out, panicking.
I blinked a few times before swallowing my spit. "Um, h-he means we're just having some problems."
The hologram shut off as the castle jolted a little bit. "Coran what do we do?!"
Coran just started panicking and rushing to get anything done without the castle breaking down.
I groaned to myself and shake my head some while trying to find anything to fix the castle. When it started moving again, I had a wave of slight relief come through. "Coran, Nyle, here we go!" Allura's voice boomed over the intercom.
I felt a bad pain in my hip and bent over a table, holding my hip. "Fuck, please not now. For the love of God, don't be now." It ended quickly and I was just hoping it didn't happen again.
All of a sudden I heard the teams' voices, a screen of them being pulled to Zarkon's ship coming up on the holograms. "Oh no..." I mumbled, listening to them.
"What's going on?" I heard Keith speak.
"My lion!" Hunk shouted.
"My lion! Zarkon, Zarkon's taking control of the Black Lion again!" Shiro yelled out some.
Then a blast came from the castle, which I'm more than a hundred percent sure Allura shot. "Paladins now's your chance! Get out of there!" Allura shouted as Voltron started flying out of the way, coming back to the castle.
"I forgot how intense Zarkon's connection to the Black Lion is," Shiro started speaking. "We have to keep our distance or risk losing Voltron. Let's disband and get back to the Castle."
The lions separated and flew next to the castle. "Why haven't we wormholed yet?" Keith asked impatiently.
"Because we can't! We're missing several scaultrite lens-stones! They've shattered! Gone! Don't exist! Sloven-day-ho! That's Altean for 'gone'." Coran yelled, basically in my ear.
I rolled my eyes and slightly pushed Coran off of me. "He's right though, the Teleduv is completely busted."
"Wait, did you say 'scaultrite'? I've seen that somewhere before. I think Hunk was making some terrible cookies from that stuff!" Pidge exclaimed out.
Everyone came into the castle before Coran started scanning these blue-looking cookies. "Unbelievable! These cookies do have trace elements of scaultrite." He yelled.
"Could they work?" Shiro asked firmly.
"They might be able to hold for one jump," Coran started. "But we'd still need several people actually physically holding them. And, if the trajectories were calculated just so."
Coran shoved everybody into the Teleduv, but he had me at the control panel ready to get the Teleduv started. He put the team into weird positions so that we could wormhole but so that they also wouldn't die.
"It just warms my heart that people are enjoying my cookies," Hunk says with a smile on his face, Coran making sure he was in the right position.
"Okay, there. Now, nobody move if you want to live." Coran spoke while going out of the Teleduv.
"I think I moved! I think I moved!" Lance yelled out, panicking.
"Well, then move back to where you think you were!" Coran yelled out. "Okay, now, Nyle and I are going to monitor the beam from out there."
"Wait, Coran! How dangerous is this?" Hunk asked, starting to get a little worried.
"Honestly, this is the most dangerous thing I've ever seen, or heard of, but since we're probably going to die anyway, what the heck, let's give it a shot!" Coran started. "Good luck, gentlemen and gentlelady. It's been a pleasure. Don't touch the lasers!" He shut the door to the Teleduv and turned to me.
"Ok, start the process and keep that beam monitored." I nodded and did what I was told to.
Just as soon as the Teleduv started, it shut down again. "Coran, Nyle, what's happening? Zarkon's right on top of us!" Allura's voice boomed.
"The stones aren't reflecting properly! I need something to shine them up!" Coran started, thinking before snapping his fingers. "Oh, wait a second. I think I've got it. Hit the wormhole in ten ticks!"
Coran opened up the door again and looked towards everything, Allura starting to count down.
"What's happening?" Shiro spoke, looking at Coran.
"No one move! I've got to shine these stones!" Coran responded, getting himself all slicked up. Good thing I've got a case of the slipperies!" The sight of what was going on almost made me wanna throw up.
He went through the Teleduv, spreading the sweat on the stones. That's so gross!
Coran came back out just as the door closed and the Tevleduv came on, causing us to jump successfully.
We cheered and Allura came down to see the team.
The door opened and she smiled. "Great work, team! We made it! Huh?" Everybody was completely fired and Lance fell from the roof. I flinched at that and pursed my lips.
