Nyle's POV
All of us managed to get to the castle and immediately we started working on finding a way to get Allura back. "Pidge, scan the download from the ship. Find out where Zarkon's central command is." Shiro says while going towards his seat near the front.
"On it!" Pidge yelled while trying to pinpoint the location of the command is.
"What happened? Where's Allura?" Coran asked frantically.
"They captured her. She sacrificed herself to save me and the information. I didn't have a choice." Shiro says to Coran while standing in front of his seat.
Coran sat shocked for a while before speaking. "How is that possible?"
"Coran, I'm sorry things didn't go as planned, but we can't focus on what went wrong. We've got to figure out how to make it right. Pidge, anything?" Shiro asks, turning to Pidge.
"Guys, look at this." All of us put our attention on the big screen and see just how big his command was.
Holy God, just how big is that place? "Look at the size of it!" Coran yelled as he looked at the screen.
"I think we should go in right away. Every minute we waste gives Zarkon time to prepare for us." Pidge says while standing up.
"I agree. We form Voltron, fly-in, fly-out, dust off our hands, and walk away." Lance says while crossing his arms.
"Um, do you guys not remember the Balmera? We could barely take out one fleet. But this... a base this size could hold a thousand fleets!" Hunk yelled out.
"Yeah, I agree. We need time to plan this out and figure out the best possible way to do this." I added on while sitting up in my seat, still not at my strongest from the fight with the scary mask dude.
"Or maybe we shouldn't go on this mission at all. Think about it. We'll be delivering the universe's only hope to the universe's biggest enemy." Keith said, making all of us look at him like he was insane.
"Keith, that's cold, even for you. What if it was one of us? What if it was me? You wouldn't leave me, would you? Would you?" Hunk asks, I can hear the doubt in his voice.
"I'm not saying I like the idea. I'm just thinking like a paladin." Keith replied back.
I scoffed and rolled his eyes. "That's not Paladin thinking Keith! That's just horrible!"
Lance nodded and glared at Keith. "Yeah exactly, you're thinking of yourself because you're too scared to do what's right!" He yelled.
"Okay, we're all upset because we lost Allura," Pidge said, trying to calm things down a little bit.
"No, Shiro lost Allura!" Coran yelled.
"Okay, okay! This isn't helping. We can't just sit here and bicker like this." Hunk shouted while keeping everyone at bay from each other.
"Let's focus. How are we going to get Allura?" Shiro put on his determined voice as everyone started putting their ideas out.
I sat back in my seat and rubbed my head, groaning at the headache that blast gave me. I saw Lance walk over and cross his arms. "You alright Ny? You guys got knocked around pretty bad. You and Keith should be in pods, healing before we do this fight."
I laughed a little and shook my head, smiling at Lance. "I'm fine. We don't have much time anyway, so I'm just gonna sit and try to regain as much strength as I can."
He sighed and pursed his lips. "You sure? I mean, you don't really look all that good."
I snickered and shake my head. "I always look good, you hush."
I had managed to make Lance laugh some he smiled at me. "If you need anything you know where to find any of us."
I smiled more and hummed. "I know, I'll call if I need something. But for now, you should be over with the others and helping them find a way to get Allura."
Lance shakes his head and sat on the arm of my chair. "I think I'll stay here and keep an eye on you Ny."
I laughed and shook my head. "You don't need to do that Lance, I'll be fine here on my own. It's not like I'm going anywhere for a little bit."
He snickered and leaned on the chair. "Well I'm going to, you tend to somehow get yourself into a lot of trouble most of the time."
I stifled a laugh and hum softly. "I do, don't I? Well, at least I got you guys to bring me back."
"Yeah, you do. Anyway, how're you feeling? I mean, you know."
"I get what you mean, but I'm alright. Nothing's been happening really. Unless you count me needing to go to the bathroom every five seconds."
He laughed a little and turned to me. "Seems like you're doing alright then."
I nodded and laid back as much as I could. "What about you? How are you? Still feeling homesick Lance?"
He shrugged and sighed. "Yes and no, I've kinda just learned to put it aside until I'm completely alone to think about it."
"Well, you know you can always talk to me. I'm here if you need me."
He smiled at me and laughed softly. "Yeah, I do. But, I kinda feel like I should be doing this on my own now."
"Ok...I'm still here though if you need me, Lance. Now go back and help them."
"Alright, alright. I'll leave you alone. But yell if you need something."
"I will, not get to scooting Lance."
He chuckled and started walking off, going back to his seat.
I took the time to rest and did a little work to help them pinpoint where Allura was. "Anything?" I looked up when I heard Shiro's voice.
"There's just no way in. They'll have us tracked from every direction." Lance says, completely frustrated at his lack of findings.
I'm getting frustrated with mine too. "There's gotta be something. Keep looking." Shiro states while turning to Coran, starting a conversation with him.
I huffed and tried to find a way to get close to the central command but I was having no luck. Why the fuck was this so hard to do? Good god, I'm gonna have an aneurysm from this.
I spent like ten minutes trying to do this shit. "Everyone, eyes front. We've got a plan to get Allura. We're going to jump to the heart of the enemy, unseen and undetected." I look up once again when Shiro's voice booms through the room.
"I thought we needed Allura to open up a wormhole," Pidge mentions as she leaned back in her seat.
"It's true that Allura powers the Castle's ability to travel through wormholes. However, I think we have enough of her residual essence stored in the system to make one jump. We'll hide the Castle here, inside one of these giant gas planets in Zarkon's command system. The gas is so dense, we'll be hidden." Coran says while turning to us.
"From there, we'll use the Castle to scan for Allura on Zarkon's ship and attack before Zarkon knows what hit him," Shiro says while crossing his arms.
"There's only one hiccup. We have enough energy to wormhole in, but, without Allura, we won't have enough energy to wormhole out." Coran mentioned to us all as he put his hands behind his back.
"It doesn't matter. We're not leaving without her." Shiro responded back while telling us all to get ourselves ready.
All of us started preparing ourselves for the fight of our lives so far. This was gonna be a pain in the ass for all of us, and I'm just barely moving. I don't wanna leave right now either, I really don't.
We started the wormhole process and appeared behind a big dense planet just like we planned out, not being spotted at all. "We're here." Shiro turned to us all as he crossed his arms.
"I'm detecting Allura's energy signature. From this distance, the signal's pretty weak, but she's somewhere in Zarkon's main ship." Coran states while bringing up a scan of the command.
"Gives us a starting point," Keith mentions while standing up.
"Once we get closer, we'll be able to narrow down the location where the Princess is being held," Coran responded and turned his head to us.
"Okay, guys, this is it. Voltron is going to come in fast and without warning. We'll smash our way into Zarkon's ship and grab the Princess. Before they know what hit them, we'll have the Princess and be on our way." Shiro says while turning back to the screen.
We went down to our hangers and started preparing to fight probably one of our biggest fights for the time being. Until we actually have to fight Zarkon. The team formed Voltron and we started making a beeline for the main ship. We shot down a few ships and some kind of force field trapped us in here with them.
"What is that?" Hunk asked, confused.
"I don't know, but I hope once we get the Princess, we can find a way out of here," Pidge responded back.
An ion cannon started charging up and pointed towards us as I formed my jaw blade, taking care of the surrounding fighter jets so they could focus on the ion cannons. "They're going to fire!" Pidge yelled loudly.
"Form sword!" Shiro yelled, the sword appearing a few moments later. I continued to take out the fighter jets around the ships, using my cannon to badly damage some of the bigger ships and allowed them to finish them off.
"More trouble, straight ahead!" Lance yelled upon seeing more ships as we got closer to the main ship.
"Form shoulder cannon!" Shiro commanded his team as the cannon appeared and shot some of the remaining ships I had previously damaged.
We started flying forward, dangerously close to Zarkon's ship and I was getting a little antsy at what was happening with everything. This was so much at one time. "There's Zarkon's ship!" Shiro yelled as Voltron just stopped moving.
"What's going on with you guys? Why'd you stop?!" I yelled, trying to get them to move again.
"We lost the sword! Something's malfunctioning!" Keith yelled as Voltron's sword disappeared.
"What's happening?" Coran asked amid all the chaos.
Voltron started hovering towards the ship and I immediately started trying to push them back away from it.
"Guys get Voltron up and running, please! You're completely frozen." I was trying desperately to get them away from the ship but the force pulling them just got stronger and stronger.
After a few attempts at pushing them away, they just broke apart into their lions. "What just happened there? Something tore us apart!" Hunk mentioned while flying around and taking down the fighter jets.
"I don't know, but we've got bigger problems right now. Look!" Lance shouted, I looked over to see more ships coming.
"Why do I get the feeling these guys knew we were coming?" Keith asks, rhetorically.
"Ah, Jesus Christ!" I yelled out and started firing at them. "These guys don't stop do they?!"
We were struggling to keep them off us and I noticed that Shiro was just drifting by himself, something must be wrong with his lion. And then all the jets just started evaporating, I looked up and saw that the castle was coming down with lasers.
"Coran attack! I've waited ten thousand years for this!" Coran yelled and all of us cheered as we finished off the few remaining ones in our area.
I heard Shiro grunting in some kind of pain and I turned my lion towards him to see what was going on. "Shiro, are you okay?" I heard Keith ask as I flew over in his direction, but a bunch of fighter jets got in my way.
"Shit," I mumbled to myself and started firing my lion's tail cannon. "Guys, I got a bandwagon! Mind giving me just a little help, please?"
"I got you Ny." Pidge came to my rescue and helped me take out the fighter jets.
I heard Shiro's voice again, responding to Keith. "Something is overriding the controls! My Lion is not responding!"
Oh no, something's wrong with his lion. It might be the Galra now that I think about it but, why aren't our lions being controlled if that's the case?
"Shiro's in trouble! I'm going in!" Keith yelled to us before starting to fly over towards the Black Lion.
"What do we do now, guys? Our plan isn't really working out as... well, planned!" Hunk yelled out while fleeing away from the few fighter jets coming after him.
"I'm going for the Black Lion. You guys get the Princess, now!" I was confused for a moment before I noticed that Shiro was out of his lion.
Ah shit we're gonna be having a bit of a bad time. This is some bullshit now, there's too many everywhere. "I've identified Allura's exact location. Uploading the coordinates to you, now. In the meantime, I'll provide covering fire from out here, all alone, against an entire fleet. So, yeah, do you mind hurrying?"
I can't let him do this by himself, I'm gonna be laying down some fire for them while they get the princess. I fall back towards the castle and start taking out the nearby ships, putting up my shield generator so I wouldn't be getting hit from every damn direction.
"My jetpack's damaged. I'll need to go through the ship." Well seems like this plan is going down even deeper shit now.
"You guys get the Princess without me." Keith states and I almost lost my mind.
"Keith go with them alright? I'll keep you guys covered out here so you'll be able to get in. What are you gonna be doing out here anyway?" I responded, trying to get him to go with the rest of the team because if they split up anymore it's just gonna get bad.
"Whatever I can." Keith replied back to me and I huffed while continuing to get rid of the ships that were making our life harder.
While we continued to make process out here, Keith spotted something. "Whoa! Who is that?" He asks and I turn, bringing up a screen and broadcasting it to Coran to let him see what was going on.
I heard him gasp and I knew that wasn't good. "It's Zarkon! Keith, get out of there, now! Zarkon's too powerful!"
"This is my chance to put an end to the Galra Empire! I have to take it!" Keith immediately started flying towards him and I flew after him.
"Keith stop! He'll kill you! Don't go after him please!" I flew faster, trying to get in front of him but I was having no luck. "Keith NO! Don't do it!"
He started attacking Zarkon and I groaned, trying to help him at least so he wouldn't get killed. I looked at my shield power and huffed. I needed to let it recharge but I also need it for this fight.
He started talking to us after he blocked our attacks. "You may have a Lion, but its power is weak in your fledgling hands." He swung at Keith and I shot my cannon at the weapon before he could hit him. "You cannot stop me. The Black Lion will finally be returned to its original paladin."
Wait what? What the hell was he talking about? He wasn't the Black Lion's paladin was he? This is messing with my mind so badly. "Keith just stop! We're not ready to fight him!"
He completely ignored me and just started fighting with Zarkon, I groaned before trying to help him. Keith lunged at him and kept trying to shoot at him, but he deflected every shot that was thrown at him. I tried shooting at a different angle while Keith was shooting him but it just wasn't enough.
He shot Keith down and charged up another shot, so like the idiot I am I decided to use the rest of the power on my shield generator to get in front of him and block the shot. It worked for a while but then my generator ran out of power and the blast went through it, I got hit. It was hurting more than I thought it would, then everything went black.
Keith POV
"Nyle!" Oh no, why didn't I listen?! What is wrong with me?! I should've just listen to her! And then she wouldn't have gotten hurt. Her lion was drifting off, Zarkon was coming at me, my alarms were blaring in my ear, and I had Coran talking my head off.
"Keith, get out of there!" I don't have anymore time for this, if he gets us both down he'll kill us. "Keith, do you copy? You don't know what you're dealing with! He's too powerful! Listen to me, it's imperative that you don't engage the-" I turned the transmission off and looked Zarkon down in the face before losing my temper.
"No!" I pushed my controls forward and my lion got up, blasting some kind of plasmic blast which made Zarkon lose his balance and I destroyed some of the outer walling. "Whoa!"
He started talking to me again, and I hated hearing his voice. "You fight like a Galra soldier. But not for long!" He started coming towards me and I flew up, away from where I was and shot the blast again.
He had to stop and block before I flew in a different direction to shoot in another place but he changed his weapon and grabbed me, pulling me down to the ship. "Come on! Come on!"
A shot freed me from the hold and looked up, seeing the Purple Lion up and running. "Nyle! Are you alright? You took a pretty bad blast."
I heard her laugh a little, but it sounded painful. "It takes more than just some stupid blast to kill me. I'm fine Keith, don't worry."
I let out a small sigh of relief and leaned back a little, trying to move my lion but he wouldn't budge. "I got you, buddy!" Shiro! He managed to get back to his lion, and now he's carrying me.
"All right, Paladins, time to get out of here!" Allura's back, they got her. Good job guys!
"Hello? What's going on? I don't see a wormhole." Hunk says, antsy.
"The Galra barrier is jamming our ability to create one!" Coran yelled slightly. "They have us completely surrounded!"
The barrier suddenly just turned off and we were just free to go now, so why weren't we moving exactly?
"What just happened?" Pidge asks, a little loud.
"Who cares? Wormhole!" Hunk yelled, impatient. Read my mind Hunk.
The wormhole was created and we started going through it when it started acting weird.
"Coran, what's happening?" I heard Shiro ask.
"The integrity of the wormhole has been compromised. It's breaking down!" Coran yelled, whatever that meant. What is he talking about?
"What does that mean?" Lance asks impatiently.
"It means we have no control over where we're headed!" Coran yelled. Oh, that's really bad. That's REALLY bad. We got thrown out of our hangers and were separated from the rest of the team.
Third Person POV
The team were split off into different parts of the universe and into groups almost expect with some of the paladins. Keith and Shiro were sent into one side of the wormhole, Lance and Hunk on the otherside of the wormhole, Pidge went on the bottom side of the wormhole, and Nyle was blasted towards the top side of the wormhole. Everyone was yelling and shouting from the force they were flung around from. The castle was left alone with Allura and Coran as they frantically tried stabilizing the wormhole.
