Ventus

"....Hao...you...can't....you can't be..." cried Ven staring at his friends wayfinder as memories of Deli flashed through his mind.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"If you're going to stay here, we need to know what to call you," said Ventus, "How about.....Hao?"

"Hao?" asked Terra.

"Yeah! Hao short for Haos meaning light," said Ventus, "So what do you say?"

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Can I still call you Hao?" asked Ventus, "It's not that I have a problem with your name or anything, I just think it would be cool as a nickname."

"I thought the point of calling her Hao was because we didn't know her name?" asked Terra.

Ventus gave Terra an irritated look and Deli laughed.

"Sure," She said, "You can still call me Hao if you want. I actually like it."

Ventus gave her a smile, "Great!"

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"So it appears that Deli is one of the Keyblade's chosen," said Master Eraqus.

"Really!?" said Ven cheerfully, "This is great Hao! Now we can train together!"

"If that's what she wants," said Eraqus.

Deli didn't stop to think about it, and nodded.

"Alright then we shall being," smiled Eraqus.

"Alright!" cheered Ven.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"You ready Hao?" asked Ven.

"I...I don't know Ven," Deli said uncertain, "Maybe we should...."

"Don't worry Hao," said Ven, "I'll make sure you don't get hurt. Trust me."

She looked at her keyblade and said, "Ok."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Hao!" yelled Ven.

"Let's do it!" She said back.

Ven struck Maleficent toward Deli and she struck her into the air. Ven then leaped above Maleficent and hit her hard against the ground. Maleficent awoke and moved to a corner of the room. She transformed herself into some kind of spiral force of darkness and was charging for Ven. Deli quickly got in between them and used every ounce of strength she had to stop her from getting close to Ven.

"Get ready!" Deli told Ven.

"Got it!" he said.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Ven!", Deli yelled and quickly ran over and used her keyblade to repel all of the attacks from the giant Unversed.

"Guys, we have to end this now!" yelled Terra as the Unversed formed together again.

"Terra!" yelled Aqua as she and Deli ran at it together.

"Ven! Now!" yelled Terra as he and Ven ran at the unversed from opposite sides.

"Come on!" agreed Ven.

"Go!" Deli yelled as she and Aqua both struck the Unversed from above.

Then Terra and Ven made the finishing blow, making the Unversed fade away.

"Got 'im," said Terra as they rushed over to each other.

"We did it!" Deli said excited.

"We make a good team," said Aqua.

"Sure do." smiled Ven.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In you and I there's a new land,

Angels in flight

My sanctuary, my sanctuary, yeah

Where fears and lies melt away

Music will tie

What's left of me

What's left of me, now

Deli sang looking at the stars at their usual place. She had arrived early and decided to sing while she waited for her friends to arrive.

"Hao?" asked Ven coming up from behind.

"Ven!" Deli shouted blushing nervously, "I..uh..I didn't expect you to get here yet."

"I finished training early," explained Ven, "Was that you singing just now?"

Deli blushed even more and nodded, "I'm...sorry if..if it bothered you."

"You kidding me?!" he said, "It was beautiful Hao. I had no idea you could sing like that. You should sing to Aqua and Terra and I bet they'll say the same thing."

"What!?" Deli shouted then quieted herself, "I...I can't."

"Why not?" asked Ven.

I can't sing in front of others," She confessed, "I just...just get too nervous."

"Don't worry," comforted Ven, placing his hand on her shoulder, "I'll be right here. Terra and Aqua will think the same thing I do. I just know it."

"Ok," Deli nodded.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Hao!" cried Ven, "Hao just get out of here! I'll be fine! Just go!"

"No!" Deli snapped, "I'm not going anywhere! I'm tired of standing on the side lines! Tired of having to depend on someone else to handle my problems! This time, you guys can depend on me! I'll be...right here with you!"

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Pathetic," huffed Vanitas snapping Ven back into reality, "And after all that talk of how much stronger she was. Some Guardian she was." Vanitas then made his way over to Deli's wayfinder and lifted his foot over it.

"NO!!" screamed Ven breaking free of his icy prison. Using his keyblade Ven charged for Vanitas and smacked him away from the wayfinder, picking it up, "Don't you even think about it."

"Such a kid," sneered Vanitas, "Why hold on to something as pathetic as that from someone just as equally pathetic?"

"Shut up!" snapped Ven, "Hao was not pathetic! She was strong even when she was scared! She never gave up even when she knew the odds were against her, she kept fighting. I keep this as a promise, that I'm not going to give up. I'll fight and end this!"

"Show me then," smirked Vanitas as the two began their fight.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the end Ven won and watched as Vanitas suddenly was oozing darkness from his body.

"You've done it Ventus," said Vanitas as his helmet began to fade revealing his black spiky hair and yellow eyes, "Now that my body is about to perish you and I will have to join together! The X-Blade will be forged!" Suddenly the darkness began to surround them, then three small Unversed appeared and held down Ven.

"The Unversed...come from you?" asked Ven struggling against the Unversed.

"It happened when you and I were split into two," explained Vanitas, "The negativity took shape as these monsters. They are what I feel--a horde of fledgling emotions under my control. I released them in all the worlds I could, hoping to lure you away from home and isolate you from your Master. We needed to make you stronger. The Unversed were the perfect opponents. And better yet no matter how many times you defeat them, their negativity flows right back into me. You and your pathetic friends never stood a chance against us Ventus."

After those words Vanitas walked towards Ven and when they touched a beam of light surrounded them. They had forged together.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When Ven awoke he found himself in a dark abyss with nothing but a large circular glass platform underneath him. The platform was green and had a picture of both him and Vanitas on it.

"Our union was not finished," said the familiar voice of Vanitas as he descended from above. Instead of his normal keyblade, Vanitas had a new larger, and darker Keyblade that appeared to be two Keyblades merged as one, "The X-Blade shouldn't stay broken like this. Join me now, and we can complete the X-Blade!"

"I've got a better idea," said Ven summoning his keyblade, "How 'bout I destroy you both?"

"The X-Blade is made of your heart too, idiot!" laughed Vanitas, "If you destroy it, your heart will vanish forever."

"Whatever it takes," said Ven clenching Deli's wayfinder, "Anything to save Terra and Aqua."

"Hmpf, it's always about your friends, isn't it?" asked Vanitas.

"At least I have some!" snapped Ven, "I've become a part of their heart, just as they've become a part of mine. My friends are my power and I'm theirs!

"We will join!" shouted Vanitas as he charged for Ven. Just as Vanitas was about to strike a blinding light appeared in between them sending Vanitas away, "What?"

"Leave Ven alone!" shouted a voice as the light faded, revealing a familiar brown hair girl, "I warned you, didn't I Vanitas? Don't ever come near my friends or you'll have to answer to me!"

"It can't be!" growled Vanitas as Ven couldn't believe his eyes.

"Hao?" asked Ven on the verge of tears, "Your alive!"

"Impossible! I finished you!" growled Vanitas.

"Ven, let's end this together!" cheered Deli summoning her shields.

"Right!" smiled Ven as he summoned his keyblade.

"Enough!" snapped Vanitas as he went back on the offensive.

Deli quickly blocked the first strike with her shield as Ven went from below and swiped at Vanitas. The blow sent Vanitas across the platform enraged Vanitas and the X-blade began to glow. The X-blade grew longer reacting to his rage as Vanitas went straight for Deli. Ven quickly stood between them using his keyblade to block the attack. However Vanitas was too strong and knocked his keyblade away.

"Ven!" shouted Deli as she tossed her shields at Vanitas's torso, repeatedly, knocking him back. Then Deli leapt over him preparing to strike, but Vanitas quickly recovered and went to strike. Deli quickly reacted by switching from her offensive strike to a defensive block. Vanitas sent her flying back towards Ven.

"Ven are you hurt?" Deli asked short on breath.

"I'm okay," nodded Ven.

"As much as I would like to continue this little fight of ours," laughed Vanitas as his body began to glow again, "It's time to end it!"

Suddenly the whole area was engulfed in darkness then once the darkness cleared. They found themselves floating in distorted and twisted dimension. Suddenly Vanitas began charging another attack.

"Ven look out!" shouted Deli as she too began charging an attack. Then both Vanitas and Deli released the energy they collected at each other. The two energies collided and pushed each other in a light and darkness tug-a-war. However Deli's power started to waver as the darkness energy inched towards her.

"Hao!" shouted Ven as his keyblade started to glow and he shot a beam of light at Vanitas's darkness. The two energies formed together and pushed back the darkness towards Vanitas. Vanitas broke the attack and began to charge for them. Ven charged to meet his attack and the two keyblades locked with one another, neither side giving an inch.

"Ven!" shouted Deli as she directed her energy towards Ven giving him the strength to overpower Vanitas. Vanitas fell back from Ven's newfound strength, giving Ven the chance to land the final blow. Finally it was over, as Vanitas's grip on the X-Blade loosed, releasing it. Vanitas desperately reached for it, but was unable to grab it before he faded away. Soon after Vanitas faded away, the X-Blade too faded.

"We did it," smiled Ven.

"Yeah," nodded Deli.

"I knew you couldn't be gone Hao," smiled Ven even more as he went to hug her, but instead went straight through Deli, "Wha-?"

Ven turned back to see Deli's head staring at the ground slightly.

"I'm sorry Ven," said Deli, "But the Deli that you know, is gone. I am only a fraction of light from Deli."

"A fraction of light?" asked Ven.

"In her final moments she sent small fractions of light to you, Terra and Aqua," explained Deli as she stared to fade into light, "She sent them to keep you safe from harm."

"Hao! You're--!" shouted Ven.

"I'm afraid that my task is done, but my light will always be here," said Deli as she placed her hand on Ven's heart, "No matter how broken it maybe, I'll be there."

"Hao..." Ven said as tears fell down his face as Deli became transparent.

"If you ever begin to lose hope, just call out to me and I'll be there," said Deli hugging Ven as she faded away, "I promise even as I fade away I won't ever leave your heart."

"Thank you...Hao," said Ven struggling to smile as he too began to fade away into the light.
