Beeker Household
12:04 AM
3rd POV

Mrs. Beeker quietly unlocked and opened her front door, walking light on her feet. However, she wasn't surprised to see her daughter, Wren Beeker, waiting patiently on their couch.

It'd been a year since the oldest Beeker daughter died, yet the family couldn't seem to get over it. Especially Wren, as she and her sister were connected at the hip from birth. Now, it was just her and their brother, Kenzic.

"Hello sweetie." Mrs. Beeker smiled and kissed Wren's forehead.

"Hi mom, I made sure dad got to sleep fine." Wren whispered.

'that man is such an insomniac...' chuckled Mrs. Beeker silently. She gave Wren a hug and kiss good night before shooing her to bed. Walking to the kitchen, she got a snack and went to bed herself.

She didn't expect what she found.

Beeker Household
4:57 AM
3rd POV

The Beekers' house was a quiet one, especially in the morning. The children and father all shared one common trait.

A 'fuck that, fuck this, fuck mornings' attitude.

They all got up, had their share of coffee, and started getting ready. The father worked on the cameras and equipment at his wife's news agency. The children were both in high school, Kenzic in his last year and Wren in her second.

Today was a normal enough morning. Coffee in their hands, the Beekers (minus the wife) headed out for school or work. Kenzic shared most of his mother's personality, and talked the entire walk to school.

"Just think about it, Mindfucker, excuse my language, would make such a great hero! And their partner too maybe! Maybe they could work with medics or something, but they could do something great! Blah blah blah blah..."

To Wren, her brother's morning talk was background noise. Though she couldn't help but smile, the topic was of the norm, the vigilante Mindfucker.

Eventually, they arrived at school, but someone blocked their way.

"Oh hey you're that hero in training in year two! Mirgan Warson, right?" Kenzic smiled wide at the younger hero in training.

Oh yea, Kenzic is just a school year away from being a proper hero.

"Yes, I assume you're Kenzic and Wren Beeker, correct?" Mirgan smiled.

Wren sighed heavily while Kenzic and Mirgan started talking. At that moment, Wren wished she had a cliché best friend to pull her to the side and gossip. Instead, her brother decided to aggravate a sleeping beast by adding her into the conversation.

"Sorry for Wren here, she only interacts with our family and the rare lucky person." Kenzic threw his arm around his sister's shoulders.

"Oh I know. Our two classes once did a rescue hero exercise. A few of my friends said they tried to save her, but she scared them off when they tried to touch her." Mirgan laughed.

Wren grumbled angrily while her brother wheezed, nearly falling over from laughter. As if God heard Wren's silent prayers, they arrived at the school entrance and Kenzic ran off to his class.

When he was out of site, Mirgan grabbed Wren and pulled her towards a secluded place. She played along, curious as to what would happen.

"I have a serious question for you." Mirgan began.

Wren nodded.

"Are you somehow related to or know the vigilante Mindfucker?" They asked.

Wren blinked once, twice. Then she placed her hand over her mouth to muffle her laugh. Mirgan looked on in concern. Once she had calmed down, she answered the person's question.

"No, i'm not. How did you come to that conclusion, exactly?" Wren raised an eyebrow.

Mirgan took a step back, slightly intimidated.

"W-Well, uh, you two seem to hold yourselves the same way. You also have similar voices and other qualities..." They explained.

"You know, there are about 7 billion people on Earth, what is the probability a few people have a few similar qualities?" Wren smirked.

"Pretty good chance..." Mirgan mumbled.

Wren nodded, satisfied.

"I'll be going to class now. Heard some rumors we'd be doing another rescue hero exercise, by the way." She waved and left.

Mirgan watched her walk away, more so confused on how she knew. Only the teachers know when they are.

Rescue Hero Field
8:15 AM
3rd POV

Just as Wren said, the Sophomore students of Saiki High were put into a field for rescue hero training. The normal classes were given an hour head start to hide and were tasked with faking being hurt.

Wren decided that if these HITs wanted to be the best, they'd have to prove it. She used her agility to her advantage, going far out before digging under rubble. She only left a bit of her head and her arm sticking out, as a warning.

An hour later, most were "rescued" the few left included a few idiots and, of course, Wren. To her dismay, Mirgan and his friends closed in on the area she was hidden in. She moved, slightly, acting as thought she was actually trapped.

"Hey guys! I saw some movement over here, looks like someone's trapped!" A voice called out.

The rubble was pulled off, making Wren realize how hard it was to actually breath under it. She noticed a hand reach out to her, and reacted quickly. Her reaction? Grabbing them, forcing their head to hers, and head butting them, hard.

She ended up standing and walking by herself, while the hero students had to pick up their friend. Unluckily for her, Mirgan also happened to be with said group. They walked side by side, Mirgan clearly very frightened.

They reached the "medics" tent and Wren walked right off while the hero student was dragged in. A funny situation to witness, really. A hero in training going to medics while a civilian is completely fine.

Thankfully, Wren was one of the last people found, so she didn't have to wait long. She walked through the halls to lunch, glaring at every person who tried to approach. Call her a bitch, but she didn't want to trust anyone. Anyone except her family, and...

"WREN! Hey buddyyyy~"

Here we go again Wren thought solemnly.

"Hey Linzy. How was your rescue?" Wren asked while they walked to their table.

"Boring! I didn't think of anywhere good to hide so I got found immediately. Damn my forza's drawbacks!" Linzy whined.

"Stop using it all the time then, geez." Wren rolled her eyes.

Linzy continued to whine and cry, leaving a giggling Wren to silently enjoy her friend's torture.

"Hey, do ya think Mindfucker and Magicmind are gonna patrol tonight?" Linzy asked suddenly.

"Definitely. Mondays wouldn't stop those two." Wren smiled.

"Hey you two! Mind if me and my friends sit with you?" A voice came from behind the two friends.

"No." Wren deadpanned as soon as she saw who it was.

"Yes!" Linzy exclaimed, smiling wide at the group of three.
