Percy's P.O.V.

I saw that the kid I found on the beach was awake and saw that he had blue eyes that only made the feeling that I know him stronger. "Hey," The kid said. "Hey," I said. "Well to break this awkwardness i'm gonna introduce myself," Annabeth said "Hi my name's Annabeth,". "I'm Matt," Th kid said. "You're up Seaweed Brain," Annabeth said elbowing me. "I'm Percy," I said. "For some reason I feel like I know you," Matt said. "Oh my gods same," I said. "Okay if you need me i'll be where things aren't awkward," Annabeth said walking out of the Infirmary. "See ya Wise Girl," I said. "Bye Seaweed Brain," Annabeth said. "That's cute...." Matt trailed off. "Thanks," I said. "It's sickening," Matt finished. "Uhhh," I said. "Don't ask. Bad memories," Matt said. "Okay," I said. I then noticed Matt tearing up. "Are you okay?" I asked. "Yeah fine just....bad memories," Matt said looking away from me. I noticed Matt's tears floating. I blinked and the floating tears were gone. 'Weird' I thought. "Hey I know we just met-maybe-but if you wanna talk to me about bad memories i'm all ears. I've had my own bad memories," I said. Matt hugged me out of nowhere and started opening up. "My mom was in a major amount of debt with these thugs. When pay day came she couldn't pay up and the thugs took me over to the ocean. My mom begged for more time but they didn't listen and threw me into the ocean. I don't know what they did to my mom but I bet it was bad," Matt sobbed into my chest. I didn't mind and hugged him back trying to comfort him.

Time Skip

I left the Infirmary waving to Matt. Matt waved back and smiled. I found Matt's smile nice as I left.

Matt's P.O.V

Percy left and I laid back in the Infirmary bed. I thought about my mom and started tearing up again.
