Chapter 8 part 2 of 2

Justin's POV

I came from the island to pick up my family but they never showed up. I stood up and started walking and smelled the air. It felt like someone punched me in the gut and slapped me in the face. It was my parent's blood.

I ran fast towards the smell of their blood. I ran at inhuman speed so no human could see me. I saw my parents' car and walked to the bloody mess all over the road, it is about 11:17PM so no one can see what has happened because it was too dark.

I saw two bloody bodies on the ground holding each others hands. I touched my mother and father's head and saw through their last memories. They took off their wedding rings and put it on her locket they gave to her when she turned five, they put it back in the battered bunny I had given her and gave a duffel bag to some women and she offered help, but my parents said it was too late and she left and I watched my parents die in their eyes.

I jerked my hand back and held back the tears. I looked through the trunk and saw a two violin cases. One was my fathers and I looked at the other one, it was my little sister's!

Anyone who hurts my sister is DEAD!!! Am I over protected of my sister, absolutely, and I love with all my heart. She is my sunshine in this dark world I live in. she helped me conquer my monster when I wanted to give in, but now no one was here to help her. Her monster will take advantage of her when she is most weak. She can't give in!

I lifted my head and sniffed the air and ran towards her smell holding the violins in its cases. I stopped when I saw her. She was looking to the moon standing up. She was shaking holding a letter with blood as ink, I recognized the scent it was our parents.

She didn't turn around but kept shaking. I walked right behind her. I looked at her battered back pack bunny I gave her when she turned five.

'YOU SAID YOU WOULD STAY WITH ME FOREVER!!' she screamed towards the moon. She started falling and I caught her. She looked at me and started crying and grabbing my head and showing me her memories. The pain she felt was agonizing, I had to leave her when she turned five because she needed to concentrate on her abilities and that killed her inside but now she cant have the thing she needed most, our parents.

When she was done showing me she kept crying, I hugged her tighter and cried with her. I have never seen her cry and it was heart wrenching. She fell asleep in my arms and I ran to the house she had shown me where she was staying. I went through the window careful not to wake her.

I kissed her cheek and whispered good night to her. I ran to the house she would be staying at and I wanted to make sure it was safe for her. I left dad's violin so she could play, it. She played the violin better than anyone. I can't wait till she plays it. I also have to set up my parent's funeral that will be on Wednesday so Ali will be able to say goodbye to them properly.

Alice/Ali's POV

I looked up at the ceiling. This is the first time I have ever cried, I never cried when my only brother left because he told me to be strong and that he would come back. I never cried when I lost something, or when my parents teased me, sure maybe a tear would slip by once in a while but no one ever saw it.

I turned my head to see what time is it. Its 1:14AM. Seven more hours and I'll be in school. I really don't know what its going to be like I've never gone to human school, or any school in that matter. I was homeschooled by my parents, they told me I was way ahead of most humans and I could take a brake for a long time, but I didn't want to.

They said school was going to be a lot different then homeschooling. I wonder when my brother is going to come see me again. With that last thought I drifted into a deep sleep.

***DREAM***

I was walking though the forest and stopped when I saw a girl. She had long black hair that stopped by her waist, she had copper skin and bright green eyes. I walked closer and so did she, her eyes changed to violet. She was wearing a black dress with lots of ruffles underneath. It was me.

I went to touch my reflection but I didn't touch a mirror, I had touched skin. I jumped back and fell on my butt. She looked at me and smirked at me.

'My name is Alex' my twin said. No, she's not my twin, she is my monster or how the humans would call it, my doppelganger. This was the very first thing I was taught by my parents.

A doppelganger is German for "double walker" - a shadow self that is thought to accompany every person. Traditionally, it is said that only the owner of the doppelganger can see this phantom self, and that it can be a harbinger of death.

All purebloods and nobles (half human, half vampire) must go though this monster. The doppelganger everyone has is called a monster, because it can bring death or drive the person mad. No one knows why we have all have the monster, but we do.

Only the holder of the monster can see it, but for some reason the elders can too. I looked at my monster.

'So, what do we have here? A girl who just killed someone before I even got here? Looks like me and you are going to become fast friends' Alex said smiling at me.

'No, I didn't mean to kill that women, it was self defense!' I yelled starting to panic. If Alex says it wasn't then I will have to live with her forever and I'll die.

'Well since I didn't cause you to do that, I guess you are right.' She pouted.

'At least for now, you'll hear more of me later during feeding time, or even sooner' she said. She left before I could say anything.

***END OF DREAM***

I woke and covered my mouth with a pillow before I screamed. That was the most terrifying nightmare I ever had! I have a feeling she'll be soon.
