Twenty Four: Flashback; Osorõ

I walked down the street as I held my stuffed rabbit in my hands. "Dammit!" I glanced to the side as I spotted a boy kicking a fence. "Dammit! Dammit!" He cursed as he kicked the fence over and over. "What's wrong?" I asked as I walked over to him.

"Get lost!" He snapped as he turned his head to look at me. I stared at him with an emotionless gaze. "Why are you mad?" I asked him. "I said, get lost!" He repeated. I stared at him before walking away. I walked down the street, heading to the playground.

I sat on the swing and gazed at the ground. The reason why I was by myself is because Yan-kun was playing videogames and Momma is helping Ayano with her homework. "Oi!" I looked up as three boys stood in front of me.

"This is our playground. Beat it." One of them said. "Yours?" I repeated. "Yeah, it's ours! Now, move!" His friend commanded. I stared at him with a blank face. "No." I said, bluntly. "No? Did you just say no?" He grabbed the front of my shirt, yanking me off the swing.

"Nobody tells me no!" He snapped. "I just told you no, so what now?" I asked, emotionlessly. My stuffed rabbit was yanked out of my hands. "Monkey in the middle!" His friend called. "Please give me back my doll." I asked, politely. "Or what? What are you gonna do about it?" He sneered.

"Please give me back my doll." I repeated. "Monkey in the middle! Monkey in the middle!" They chanted as they stared tossing my rabbit to one another. "Hey!" I looked ahead, spotting the boy who was kicking the fence earlier. "She said, give it back to her." He said with a cold stare.

"That's Osorõ!"

"Osorõ Shidesu?!"

"Let's run for it!"

The boys dropped my stuffed rabbit and ran off like scared dogs. I watched them leave before looking back at the boy named Osorõ as he walked towards me. He stopped in front of me and stared at me as I stared back.

His eyes glanced to the ground and he picked up my rabbit. "Here. This is yours, right?" He said., handing it to me. "Yes." I said, taking my rabbit. "Are you hurt?" He asked. "No, I'm okay." I said, shaking my head. Osorõ frowned as he looked off to the side with a blush.

"Your name's Osorõ, right?" I asked as the two of us sat on the swings. "Yeah, what of it?" He asked. "The boys seemed pretty scared when they saw you. How come?" I asked, emotionlessly. "Because I'm dangerous." He mumbled.

"Dangerous?" I repeated. I glanced at him as he frowned at the ground. "How?" I asked. "I hurt people." Osorõ said. "So?" I asked.

"Doesn't that frighten you?"

"No."

"Why not?"

I shrugged. "I don't know. I just don't think it's scary."

"Well, you should be afraid of me. I could end up hurting you."

"You don't look dangerous. I think you're just misunderstood. But who knows? Maybe you're telling the truth and you could actually be dangerous. But I don't care."

I looked at him and noticed his elbow was bleeding. "That looks like it hurts." I said. "Huh?" He looked at me in confusion and I pointed at his elbow. "It doesn't hurt that much. I'll be okay." Osorõ said. "Won't it get infected? Come on," I got off the swing and took his hand.

"I'll take you to my house. I can help you." I offered. "I don't want your help!" He said, taking his hand out of my grasp. "It could get infected. Don't be so stubborn." I said, grabbing his hand again and guiding him to my house.

Once we were there, we sat on the floor of the living room. "Do you even know how to do this?" Osorõ asked. "Not really. But I've seen Momma do it all the time when my brother had injuries, so it looks easy." I explained.

I did the steps Momma did when she handled Yan-kun's injuries. It seemed easy, but I had some trouble bandaging his arm. "So, is it just you and your brother living with your Mom?" Osorõ askd. "No, I have an older sister, too. She's the middle child." I explained as I finished bandaging his arm.

"Does it still hurt?" I asked him. "No, it's fine. I'm gonna head home now." Osorõ said, quickly getting up off the floor. "I could walk you home if you want." I offered. "I'm fine." He said, coldly. As he was about to leave out the  door, I spoke up again.

"Please be careful on your way back. I wouldn't want you getting hurt again." I said. For some reason, Osorõ stood there as if he was frozen. "Thank you... for treating my arm." He mumbled. I stared at him with an emotionless gaze.

"You're welcome." I said. He left my house, closing the door behind him. "I sure hope he's okay." I said to myself. "Who was just here, Amaya?" Yan-kun asked. "A boy who was injured. I treated his arm so it wouldn't get infected." I explained.

"Did you know him?"

"No."

"Have you ever met him before?"

"No."

"And you just let him inside the house?"

"Yes."

"Mom told you not to let strangers into the house. I'm gonna tell."

"Tattletale."

"Mom! Amaya let a stranger into the house!"

"Get back here, Yan-kun! Don't be such a jerk!"
