Chapter 4
Amelia hadn't expected Javi to ditch her on the dance floor after their first dance. She didn't mind it, though, especially with all their friends next to her, laughing and giggling and telling her about how Fern had distracted Javi, and how Tarrick and Warden Garcia were arguing once again, this time, in front of the DJ, going on and on and on about which song they wanted to be played next. Santaura had come in and tried to pry them apart, but oh would anyone ever listen to her?! She'd yelled at the both of them and then found a stray puppy to cuddle with, sitting on one of the chairs by the air conditioner, chatting away nicely with Rina Garcia.
Her attention was distracted to the stage where the band was playing, when all music came to a halt, and she looked up to see her fiancé— husband— standing on the stage, with a mic in his hand, bowing gently, shoulders hunched forward, eyes fixated on his shoes, he coughed on the mic, to gather more attention, "friends, family, and all our dear guests," he started, in a voice much heavier, huskier than what he usually had, and Amelia could hear his nervousness echoing, "I'd request the attention? Of the people around us... for a little song, that I'd like to dedicate to my most beautiful wife"
He looked up, and her gaze met his, halfway, and she felt her heart flutter. His eyes were glassy, his voice was heavy with emotion, he was singing this song for her, and her only.
The orchestra started playing, and everyone present immediately recognised the song. It was the cheesiest, most predictable song he could've picked out. The song that was used in every single cliched music video, for every single couple, on every single wedding. But something about Javi holding the mic in his hand, standing in front of her, with his nervous voice, a voice that didn't hesitate, or trip in front of millions of screaming fans, trembling in front of a few loved ones, and especially, in front of his wife, and when he started singing, Amelia felt like the universe had come to a halt. His eyes stayed on hers, everything and everyone else faded into nothingness, even in the crowd, there was Javi, and there was Amelia, and there was no one else.
She felt goosebumps rising on her skin, as he started, "I found a woman, stronger than anyone I know"
She felt thrown back in time, to the day when she had actually bonded with Javi the first time, when they had gifted him a new key tar, when she'd brought everyone on the dance floor with him, at Buzzblast— it was as if her life was flashing before her eyes— that moment, it had also felt like there was no one except her and Javi on that floor, she hadn't let her eyes stray from him to anyone else, it had been beautiful. In hindsight, it felt like a foreshadowing to this moment.
This moment, which was everything to her.
"She shares my dreams, I know that now, I'll share her home" slight alterations in the music, it didn't seem out of place, or out of tune, "We are still kids, but we're so in love; I know we'll be alright this time
Darling, just hold my hand; Be my girl, I'll be your man, I see my future in your eyes"
Amelia swallowed a lump in her throat, as she felt tears welling up in her own eyes, her mind reeled back to that one moment when she was sitting on the bed, in his hoodie, nothing underneath, and he sat with his guitar, his newest song on his lips, and his eyes closed as he played the melodies, feeling them, vibrant, and loving, and she too, felt it. That had been the moment when she knew how much she'd loved him. At that moment, seeing his innocence, his love for his music his love for her, that she knew he had been the man for her. That her search had finally come to an end, that she didn't need anyone else, ever.
"Baby, I'm dancing in the dark; With you between my arms" he smiled, a blush creeping up his face, "Barefoot on the grass; Listening to our favorite song, I have faith in what I see"
Amelia, and everyone in that hall, with them, including the camerapersons, the caterers, had all descended into a stunned silence, as Javi came upon the last few lines of the songs, and now, with tears openly flowing down both of their eyes, he concluded, "Now I know I have met an angel in person, and she looks perfect,"
Javi let the mic fall to the ground, and walked gently towards her, "I don't deserve this, You look perfect tonight" he mouthed to her, as the entire hall burst into applause, and the orchestra died down.
Amelia shook her head, rapidly blinking the tears away before they washed away her make-up, "you- you i-idiot" she tilted her head to the side, a beautiful smile on her face, all teeth, "I love you, so, so much" she threw her arms around him, and embraced him, laying her head gently against his chest, hearing his heart racing at a hundred miles an hour.
"Thank you" he mouthed to her, "for being with me" his arms wrapped around her waist, melting away from the rest of the cosmos again.

Javi knew what was in the plan next, Amelia had filled him in. He took his place by the band once again, mic in hand, "ignore me, people, I'm just a singer here" he'd joked around, before actually taking command of the orchestra, and pulling up his harmonica to add to the music, while his bride got ready for the bouquet toss tradition.
Fern was one among the few people who were to catch the bouquet, but she couldn't spot Izzy anywhere. She'd wanted her and Izzy to do this together— and she was sure her girlfriend was off somewhere being stupid, or panicking over the fact that her brother was getting married, or something similar. She couldn't be off intimidating Amelia, because Amelia was still in front of her, in her pink wedding dress, bouquet of dried pink roses and orchids in hand... where WAS Izzy?!
Fern was surprised to find Aiyon standing next to her, though, "you're not single" she asked, half laughing, "or a woman"
"Hey" he winked, "I'm all about breaking stereotypes, baby"
"What will you do if you catch the bouquet?" Fern asked, tilting her head, clearly amused by Aiyon's shenanigans.
"Wait... Can you get married only once, on Earth?!" He joked, getting the look from Ollie, "just kidding" he looked at Amelia, who had turned away from them now, "Izzy asked me to stand in for her. She's uh... busy"
Meanwhile, Ollie stood by the cameraman's side, "make sure you get every moment." He made an Ok sign with his fingers, and then gestured to Javi, who in turn, gestured to Amelia, who turned around, once, to look at Aiyon and Fern, gave them a smile, and then turned back around, and raised her arms, with the bouquet geld firmly, and then with thrust, raised her arms, as if to throw to bouquet, but it never left her arms.
Everyone standing in the room looked on in confusion, as Amelia turned around, and on cue, Javi began singing the lyrics of 'A Thousand Years', smiling at Fern, "One step closer," who looked on in surprise, as Amelia approached her, and Aiyon tilted his head at her, and gestured for her to take the bouquet that Amelia held out.
"I have died, every day, waiting for you"
Fern watched Izzy walking towards her, as Amelia moved towards her other side, Aiyon flanking the other side, "Darling, don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years"
Izzy came closer, smiling as much as she could, her cheeks redder than Fern had ever seen them be, and then, she gasped, seeing Izzy get on her knees in front of Izzy, "Fern, I can't say how the days will unfold, I don't know how our future would be, but I know that I want you in it, every hour, every minute."
"I'll love you for a thousand more"
Fern couldn't believe her ears, what was happening... she felt the emotion she had seen on Javi and Amelia's faces, all day, that look of intense love, that feeling that nobody else in the entire world existed, except for her other.
"From the beginning, I knew I fell hard. I fell so hard, that I knew you gave me no other choice but to love you," Izzy took a breath, "all I want to do is come running home to you, to have you by my side, no matter what I do." Izzy used this time to look deep into Fern's eyes, and reached into her pocket, Izzy opened the box, and held it out for Fern, a ring sparkling inside it, green studs on the sides, a brightly shining diamond in the centre.
Fern felt tears of joy well up inside her, as Izzy asked, "Fern Theresa Myers, will you marry me?"
"Yes, Isabella Naya Garcia, yes, I'd love to," Fern replied breathlessly, finally letting the tears fall, there was no doubt in her voice, no hesitation, nothing of any sort that would make anyone doubt the amount of love and trust she had placed in Izzy. There was no doubt, as Izzy put the ring on her finger, stood up and pulled the sobbing mess that Fern was, into a long deep kiss, and finally a hug, "Izzy, Izzy are you sure about this?" Fern asked, looking into the Green Ranger's glassy eyes, and Izzy laughed, "of course I am! Plus we can take however long we want to plan this. All I know is that I want to marry you."
"And I want to marry you too." Fern smiled at her, wrapping her arms around her again, swaying lightly to the sound of the music.

The wedding photographers had taken a good three hours of Amelia and Javi's time, after Izzy's proposal, and while the party continued, the couple had been made to sit and stand and dance around in every possible pose, in every single location, by the false Greco-Romathe entire audience, who had been watching them spellboundn pillars, by the garden, behind the flowers, with the flowers in picture— a little closer, a little from the distance— takes, re-takes, "a little to the right", and "now kiss!", and "look at each other like you're totally in love" (to which, Javi had yelled "HEY!") and "Sir please stop crying, your tears are ruining the shot" to which Amelia had yelled back, "it's HIS WEDDING!! Let the boy cry!" And then proceeded to kneel beside him, holding him as he laughed and cried at the same time, sobbing into her arms, mumbling "you're my wife. Oh my god you're my wife." Which the photographer found as a lovely candid shot of the couple and continued clicking until Amelia shooed him away. At the end of the night, Javi and Amelia found each other swaying gently to the tunes of a very tired orchestra, a lot of their guests now having left, and only their close friends and family remaining. Ollie and Aiyon were still dancing together, Izzy and Fern were nowhere to be found, Tarrick and Carlos were still arguing, Santaura was passed out in a chair, holding the puppy she had apparently adopted now, cuddling in her arms, and a few others, Zayto, Pop Pop and Rina included, were huddled up in a corner, listening to Rina's wild stories.
"I think I'm gonna..." Amelia yawned, "go, get something for us to drink"
Javi laughed, "shouldn't I be doing that?"
"No. I need the walk. I'd fall asleep on top of you if I stay here" she said, half laughing, half yawning again, placing her palm in front of her mouth, as Javi let her go, and then extended an arm towards her, "I'll be right here, waiting for you"
He walked over to one of the corners of the dance hall, and sat down on the steps, yawning himself, and then looking surprised at the sound that escaped him, like a confused cat, "where'd that come from" he said, out loud, to no one, in particular, when he heard Izzy's voice countering "from the four drinks you've already had"
"It's a good thing we didn't keep the reception today" he laughed, "I don't think we had the energy to do—" another yawn interrupted him, "anything more today" he continued.
"Eh~ I think it's fun" she laughed, "it'd have been fun to see both of you bumbling around drunken and sleepy"
"You do this on purpose, don't you?" He laughed, Izzy joining in.
"Where's Fern, though?" He asked, after a bit, and Izzy blushed, "I... put her to bed" she smiled, "she was tired"
"Oh"
"What do you think... mom and dad would say... about my proposal?" Izzy asked, smiling towards their parents, who were in another world of their own.
"They haven't talked to you yet?"
"Dad? No. Mom? I asked her before proposing. She was almost insane with happiness" she smiled.
"I don't think he'd have a problem, though. He's always supported your relationship with Fern... unlike mine" he chuckled, "He used to consider Amelia such a good-for-nothing. Do you remember how much Amelia struggled to get him to say yes? It was almost like a scene from a rom com... especially cuz she'd had run ins with him in the park more than fifty times because of her ghost hunting shenanigans—"
Izzy chuckled, "She used to get up at five to 'join' him on his morning jogs, and then pretend she did it every day" Izzy laughed, "and when you brought her to dinner, she blew the fuse of our house right at the time of dad's favourite football game"
"I'm still surprised how he ended up consenting to us getting married" Javi laughed, "but here we are" she could see the giddiness on his face.
"Hey, it's not just you now" she punched him lightly in the shoulder, "both of his kids are marrying young. How'd he react?"
"I'm not young" Javi laughed, "well over thirty, do you know that?"
"Thirty and three months IS young, Javi" Izzy rolled her eyes, "and so is twenty five..." she looked towards their dad, who had finally given in to something Tarrick had said— or so it looked like, from the way the shorter man (wow Amelia's dad was shorter than every single person in the room...) was standing, looking smug.
"Izzy" Javi understood what the younger Garcia had in mind, why she was being so hesitant, "I've been with Amelia for five years. You've been with Fern for almost eight. You guys were highschool sweethearts! You were thrown apart from each other, again, and again, and again, and yet you managed to keep your boat afloat. You managed to stay together, you guys still love each other. Maybe even more than Amelia and I do. And... I think that means so much. Izzy, trust me, you're ready for it, and Dad would think so too. He's always liked Fern, you've always been his little girl. If he does throw any tantrums, you've got both me, mom and Amelia to take your side. Don't worry, we're all right here, and we're gonna make sure that no matter how emotional dad gets, he doesn't ruin your happiness"
Izzy looked at him, in surprise, and then wordlessly hugged him, "Thank you, Javi"
Minutes later, Amelia was back, and dragging Javi away from Izzy, who waved at them, and yelled, "get some SLEEP you two!"
"Kinda glad everything went as planned" Amelia smirked, as they now walked to their new, joint hotel suite, "not like you noticed anything"
"Hey!" Javi laughed, linking their arms with each other's, "I notice everything. Including how the strap of your sandal is untied and maybe broken and you're sliightly dragging your foot because of it"
"Hmm?" She looked at him incredulously, "What was on the ice sculpture that was towering behind the altar, Mr. Garcia?"
"I don't know" he replied honestly, grinning, "my eyes were on you, Mrs. Garcia"
"You're kidding, right?" She asked, gasping.
"I mean. I'm sure I'd remember things when I wake up tomorrow morning, but for tonight, for right now, it's nothing but you. Nothing else matters"
A sudden yelp from Amelia made Javi look at her in concern, only to trace her eyes towards, to where they were holding hands through their linked elbows, and imitated Amelia, gasping in surprise, and holding their hands up.
They were glowing.
"What's happening?" He asked, a smile spreading over his face once again.
"I think it's the Morphin Grid," Amelia said, "They're our colours"
A true blend of a glowing black-white-red-pink-violet seemed to have eclipsed their hands, swirling around, and mixing together; and then, just as quickly it had appeared, it disapparated, getting absorbed into their skin, as if nothing had happened at all.
"Think that was the acceptance of our bond by the higher powers" Javi mouthed.
"Do you think it happened before too? When we were at the altar? Or something like that? And we just didn't notice?" She asked, almost bewildered, as they neared their room.
Javi shook his head, "I mean... it could be."
"Doesn't matter now, though. If it happened, it'd be there in the wedding photos" she laughed, "or maybe the grid held back until we were both alone, together"
"Maybe... speaking of which..." he bent down, and picked her up bridal style, "we have some... things to do, Mrs. Garcia" he winked.
She chuckled, wrapping her arms around his neck, gently pressing her lips against his, watching him flush red once again, as they walked towards the new life that lay awaiting the two of them, together.

"You set me on fire, Javi. Every time you touch me"
His fingers traced her naked body, every curve familiar to him, like the back of his hand, feeling her delicate skin against his guitar-calloused fingertips. She felt a sensation of soft lips against her neck, and moaned slightly, the echoes of laughter between them still remaining, as they moved into something a bit more sensual.
"But you're the one who incinerates me, Amelia."
A/N: ...So maybe the little glowy bit at the end was an unnecessary addition, but I lowkey love the idea of the Grid approving their bond the second they touch, when they're alone, almost like a blessing >///<
AND THIS WAS THE CONCLUSION OF THE BEAUTIFUL EVENT THAT WOULD BE JAVI AND AMELIA'S WEDDING!!! Maybe someday I'll write wedding night smut too, but for now, ;) Thank you for everyone who inspired this, read this, and commented on this!! THANK YOU!! I LOVE YOU!! AND I LOVE THEM!!!
