Chapter 1

A/N: Everything has its own up and downs. Even weddings... this is an angst fic in a trench coat pretending to be a fluff fic.

Here's the wedding fic i promised AGES AGO!! finally here! ameliajones145

It was fucking five AM when Zayto heard the voice. It was almost like an ambulance siren, but a little more musical, even though the chant was something they had all been hearing for the past two days, every morning.

"I AM GETTING MARRIED TODAY IT'S MY WEDDING DAYYYY!!!" Same lines, over and over and over again.

Everyone in the hotel heard it.

Including Javi's fiancé.

"Javi!!" You'd think she was trying to kidnap him, the way she put her palm around his mouth, to shut him up.

"Amelia!" He'd say, completely unaware of the threatening tone in her voice, and turn around to hug her around the waist, and sometimes— more often than not, lift her off her feet.

It had been going this way for the past few days— and finally, on the wedding day, Amelia had decided she'd had enough, and letting the others suffer, she popped in some earbuds and slept through the entirety of Javi's charade.

Let him get it all out of his system. He's not gonna get more days to yell about this.

Anyway, once woken up, Amelia couldn't really go back to sleep again. So instead, she found herself wrapping the soft white hotel blankets around her even closely, and letting herself drift into the same fluffy thoughts she had to drag herself out of, to go and pull her fiancé out of his.

Neither of them had been from particularly well off families, to be able to afford a lavish wedding, the type you found for celebrities, in magazines— her parents were aliens with no source of income, for grid's sake. Everything said and done, they didn't want their parents to chip in either. So most of it was paid for by Javi's tours, and Amelia's shows. They were both relative beginners in their field, but it still worked out well enough for them to book a couple floors at the hotel, and the hall, and basically everything required for now, because Javi was adamant that he was going to make this the most memorable day of their lives, even if it took his all. Warden Buzzkill and Pop Pop had tried to help too, and at the end of the day, it had come out to everyone's satisfaction.

But that wasn't what Amelia was thinking about, on her wedding day. Her felt blood rushing into her cheeks, when she thought about the fact that by the end of the day, she'd be... married. She knew she didn't have commitment issues, because she'd been with Javi for five years already, without feeling scared about spending the rest of her life with him— instead, she felt a thrill at the thought of it. Javi was... the perfect guy. At least for her. Sure, he was a little... overemotional, which sometimes clashed with the fact that she had anger issues, but apart from that, they'd had a smooth relationship. He didn't hold a grudge, she readily apologised when she messed up, he didn't put his ego between them, they loved each other, and cared about each other. If Amelia would've had a list, she would've ticked off every single check mark for Javi.

There was nothing more she could ask for.

And she was going to be with him forever.

Apparently, he'd had this realisation long before she had, because right now, she felt like she needed to scream 'I'm getting married' just the way he had been this past week.

She didn't get the chance, though, because she heard the door of the adjoining room—that of her parents— opening, and her mother, aka the alien who had tried to destroy her and her friends long ago, poked her head in, with a goofy smile that mirrored Amelia's own, "you up, honey?"

She still wasn't used to having a mom who tried so hard to learn the 'ways of the earth mothers' from Rina, Lani and even Solon. It was fun though.

"Mmmm" Amelia muttered, drowsily, "hi mom" she smiled.

"Get out of bed, you little lazy boo" she said, making Amelia giggle— sometimes her mom made zero sense— "it's your big daayyyyy" she came in, and threw open the blinds of the windows, "rise and shine!"

"In a bit mom" she mumbled, burying herself in the bedcovers once again, but seconds later, her mom was upon her, yanking them away, "no daughter of mine is going to be late for her wedding. You know how much effort everyone has put into this"

She groaned, "mom! The wedding's in the evening! I really don't have anything to do but get up— dad and warden Garcia haven't left a single stone unturned, Javi and I really don't have anything to do"

Ok well, actually, Tarrick, Pop Pop and Warden Garcia really hadn't done anything but argue. "My baby girl likes pink so the wedding cake should be STRAWBERRY." Warden Garcia was hellbent that strawberry would give everyone food poisoning, because once when Javi was a kid, he'd gotten food poisoning from strawberry pastries. His argument was, "Well what if SOME PEOPLE like chocolate more?! OR VANILLA HAVE YOU THOUGHT ABOUT THAT?!" As if Tarrick was going to back down, "Vanilla is the most boring flavor in existence NO." And the Warden had yelled back, "It will not give the guests FOOD POISONING."

Basically, it was Ollie, Izzy, Zayto and Aiyon, who had finally ended up planning everything— the cake actually ended up being almond— going to all the vendors and making the arrangements (venue, booking the cake, going with Javi and Amelia to get the jewellery; all that good stuff)

"Doesn't mean you get to stay in bed and be lazy. Get up, move about a bit. Eat something, hydrate!"

Amelia knew her mom wouldn't let her stay in bed, so she got out after all, gave Santaura a hug, and quickly got dressed, getting out, to wander about the hotel without much work to do.

She was surprised to realise it was almost 9:30 AM by the time she got up and about. She saw Jane in the wedding hall, standing with J-Borg, a tablet in hand, pointing out places and things.

"The ice sculptures are on me. Consider that your wedding present because I can't pick anything better out" she'd told them, a few days back. Apparently, that's what she was doing.

She saw Amelia, gave her a hug, with a squeal of "here comes the briiiideee!!" She showed Amelia the design which she had seen about fifteen times in the last week— an Angel holding the other bridal style, her arms around his neck, her wings fluttering behind along with his— and complained just as many times that this was way too expensive, and Jane didn't need to do it.

"Jane—"

"No, before anything else, do you think this will look better here, at the entrance, or there, next to the altar?"

Amelia looked at the choices, and J-Borg chirped from behind, "I suggested the altar"

Before Amelia could reply, she heard Rina's voice, "Amelia!! Your hairstylists are here! Go get ready! Jane? Can I help with that?"

Yeaaah Amelia knew she was going to be pushed around for the entire day, by the older generation who were all up in their wedding. She didn't argue, gave Jane an apologetic smile, and went upstairs again.

Four hours later, with semi-curled hair, a couple of beautifully done curls dangling around the side of her face, she found Izzy and Fern peeking in, with grins on their faces, "looking good princess" Izzy commented, grinning.

Amelia got up, and waved her head around a bit, showing off the stylist's handiwork, and then looked at her to-be sister in law, and her girlfriend, both of whom looked so absolutely stunning: Izzy in an olive green tux, with a light green shirt, and a perfectly violet bow tie, Fern in a violet dress, frills around the bottom, white designs on the top, single side strap. Amelia gasped, "Fern I LOVE your gown! Omg! I wonder if it's too to swap it for my wedding dress"

The girls grinned, "it's too late— AND STOP HITTING ON MY GIRLFRIEND" Izzy said, eyeing Amelia suspiciously, "anyway, we dropped by to say Javi is complaining that he's not seen you since morning and is feeling a 'deficiency of hugs'. His words, not mine. So you should go and hug him"

"He's such a drama queen," Amelia chuckled, "alright, alright. I'll go see if he's okay. I've not had time to breathe— since morning. Tell him I'm coming"

En Route to meeting Javi, she ran into warden Garcia furious at a decorator who had listened to Pop Pop and put all curtains in the wedding hall in pink, which frankly, Amelia adored, and had interjected, with a "I kinda like them"

She knocked on Javi's room's door, and found herself face to face with his smiling face, probably without even knowing who it was, and almost giggled.

"Why are you not dressed?" She asked, pouting, feigning anger, and he chuckled, "says someone dressed in a sweatshirt, jeans and— are those my bunny slippers?"

He was wearing a weird assortment of formal and informal— a pair of camo shorts, and what seemed like his linen shirt for the wedding, an undone tie hanging around his neck, headphones dangling over it, a phone in hand, Spotify open.

"It's bad luck for you to see me in my wedding gown before the wedding, so I'm stalling. And yours slippers are comfy as hell" she grinned, "a little birdie told me you wanted to see me?"

She felt his arms wrap around her waist, and he pulled her into the room, "Is that... a bad thing?"

"You tell me" she winked, and slowly kissed him on his cheek, "How was your day?"

"You didn't come stop me from yelling, this morning" he pouted, "I missed you"

"You're such a drama queen" she chuckled, "I wanted you to have your fill of it. I mean, the wedding's tomorrow. What would you even tell tomorrow?"

"That I'm actually married to Amelia Jones?" He grinned, looking like a little lovesick puppy.

She wrapped her arms around his neck, and hugged him, placing her head on his chest, "you do know I'm just as excited for this, right? Even though I don't scream and shout about it, like you do?"

"Yes, Amelia, I know, I know everything" he smiled, "You wouldn't have said yes, if you hadn't been completely sure"

"True, True" she chuckled, "anyway what were you doing? Did you know your dad's having another row with the decorators about the pink curtains?"

"Again?!" His voice was high pitched, then he laughed, "I was putting together the final playlist for our dances"

"How many playlists have you already made Javi?"

"Counting this... fourteen" Amelia rolled her eyes, "go get ready. I'll deal with this playlist. Please let me have this one?"

"Alright. I think I need a shower anyway—"

He dropped his phone on the bed, and giggled mischievously, "you think you can join me for that shower?"

"I just got my hair done!" she shook her head, "Water will mess it up. You're on your own, for today, marshmallow boy"

"Alright" he didn't look particularly disappointed, maybe because he knew she was gonna be his forever, by the end of the day.

"I'll be back in five!! Stay here!" He said, jumping into the showers.

Amelia grinned to herself, at the corniness of her to-be husband. She loved this feeling, that even under all the stress from the wedding preparations, and almost five years of dating, the two of them still talked to each other like they were school-kids just coming back from their first date.

Suddenly, she heard his phone ring, and looked at his Home Screen. It was a name she didn't recognise— a very feminine name. She wondered if she should answer, but then decided against it, and let it ring, until it got cut off from the other end. Then she realised, the notifications showed thirty eight missed calls from the same number, and she got curious. Who was this... lady... calling Javi thirty eight times, on his wedding day. Why was Javi avoiding her calls?

Just as those thoughts ran through the former pink ranger's mind, Javi's phone began ringing again. Curiosity got the better of her, and she picked it up. Before she could utter a single word, the other woman began speaking,

"Javi I am SO glad you picked up! Please listen to me! This is a golden opportunity! You can't miss it. If you start now, you can still make it in time"

"Uh... hello?" Amelia asked, a little hesitantly.

"Oh" the other woman sounded surprised, maybe hearing Amelia's voice, "who is speaking?"

"I'm Amelia. Javi's fiancé. And you?"

"Evelyn Carson. Javi's record producer"

"Oh..."

"Amelia, Amelia you want what's best for Javi, right?"

"What?" Amelia was confused.

"Javi has gotten this amazing tour deal in Europe— six months— with concerts in Paris, Berlin, London, you name the place! And he's been refusing it!"

"What?"

"This might be the biggest break of his career. Please convince him!"

"But... that means he'll have to miss his wedding" Amelia said, her voice hollow.

"Which is why he rejected it. I keep telling him he can postpone it! Amelia, you're rational, right? Please think of him? Please—"

Amelia couldn't talk any more. She cut the phone, her mind reeling with all the information. She had absolutely no idea Javi had done something like this.

She needed to get out of here.

She needed to do something.

A/N: I've been more stressed about this fic than their actual wedding planner would be,,, saveee meee
