Side Character #1
A shadowy figure walked through a door, switching on a lamp, revealing pointy ears on their head. They sat down at a desk before lights lit up around them, leaving the darkness only at the desk, perfectly hiding the figure. There was a gentle knock at the door to which the figure responded.
"Come in."
The door gingerly opened and a rather short blond boy walked in, timidly. His hair was rather messy and was in all soiree but had a neatness about it. His eyes were a sparkling dark blue and he wore a black sweater and jeans.
"I-I'm Jordan..." The boy stammered, holding out a shaking hand to the shadowy figure. "You must be the author."
"That I am. Nice to see you Jordan, take a seat."
Jordan slowly sat down at a seat in front of the desk and scooted it back a bit, away from the shadow casted over the desk.
"I have some questions for you if you really want this role."
"I kinda do considering-"
"Nope! They don't need to know what will happen to you!"
"Sorry."
The "author" had stood up and had put a finger to Jordan's lips, revealing their hand in the light.
"Anyway, I have some questions for you, asked by the readers. They will be deciding whether or not you will be a good enough character for the role."
"O-okay..."
"Question number one. What do you like to do when you're bored?"
"Well... I love to draw. I have a water color painting of this beautiful sunset I saw. But mostly I just draw in my sketchbook."
"Have you ever had a crush?"
"No not really... I was always considered weird so I didn't talk to people much... I met this girl named Olivia I thought was pretty though."
"What is your favorite book or book series?"
"I'm not really into books that much. I really liked Call Of The Wild, though. My class read it in eight grade..."
"You aren't very talkative, are you?" The author questioned, giving an annoyed sigh.
"I want to kill myself because I'm talking right now. I feel like your judging my every move."
"At least your honest." The author said with a wave of their hand. "Just so you know, I am judging your ever move."
Jordan let out a terrified squeak before scooting back farther into his chair.
"Second group of questions." The author said, shuffling through some papers on their desk. "Have you ever been on a romantic dinner?"
"No. Well I tagged along to a nice restaurant on my parent's anniversary but that's it..." Jordan stammered.
"Do you like roller coasters?"
"Oh no. Oh no, oh no, oh no! Oh heavens no! They terrify me! They don't even have seatbelts! NO SEATBELTS! The people at Disneyland want to kill us!"
"Okay, then..." The author eyes Jordan skeptically before going back to their papers. "Third group. If you could tell your younger self one thing, what would it be?"
"To get a grip and stop being shy before it's too late..."
"I'm sorry kid. Too bad you can't do that because you're technically a figment of my imagination!"
Jordan pulled his knees to his chest and buried his face into his knees.
"If you could back one dead person back to life, who would it be?"
"A nice pizza delivery girl's grandma. She really misses her.
"Okay... why though?"
"She was delivering my pizza and I asked her why she was crying. She told me that she had last her grandma earlier that day and she was planning on taking her out to a nice restaurant to thank her for letting her live with her. It was really sweet and I want her to be able to have that moment."
"Well that was more reason than I needed but whatever."
"Your welcome..."
"Who is the most important person in your life?"
"My best friend. He talks for me when I can't."
"What was the most important moment of your life?"
"The day my best friend died."
0.0
"Okay then..." The author began to fumble with their papers and moved the phone on their desk closer to them.
"You seem scared."
"Not at all! Just getting ready for the next group of questions!" The author shouted before casually making S.O.S. using pencils. "What are a few things you'd like to do to make the well a better place?"
"Kill Trump. Boom, better place."
"If you could meet anyone in the world for a week who would it be?"
"Jacksepticeye and Markiplier shipped together in a box. That way my ship will come true and I also get both of them."
"If you could go anywhere in the world, for free for a month, where would you go?"
"Probably Paris. I hear it's very pretty and I think it would be fun to paint!"
"Someone is warming up to me."
"That happens eventually."
"Last group of questions." The author glided backward in a wheelie chair, lights turning off as they went past. "Would you do anything on a dare?"
"No way, Jóse! I stay away from dares for a reason."
"Fist bump or high five?"
"Neither. You never know the last time a person washed their hands. I still wouldn't touch them even if I saw them wash their hands!"
"Romance or friendship?"
"What's the difference? In the end we all end up sad and depressed anyway."
"Would you give an organ to a stranger in need?"
"As long as I wasn't giving them a vital body part, sure!"
"Alright now leave."
"Wait, what?"
"Leave! Buh-bye!" The author said, waving their hand in a shooing motion.
"O-okay then..."
Jordan stood up and walked out the door, the lights all flickering out as he shut it.
