Into the Void I Fall: Form

magicath617

He looked up at the ceiling allowing the insanity to flood over him. He couldn't remember what day it was. Perhaps it was Tuesday? It didn't really matter.

"Bill?"

He perked up at the sound of her voice. He rushed down to see her, watching the barn doors closing behind her.

"Veronica!" He shouted, embracing her in a muddy hug.

"You're covered in mud, Bill. When was the last time you bathed?" Veronica questioned.

Bill ignored her and dragged her up to see the wall. His beautiful, beautiful wall.

"You've covered the wall in meaningless symbols! Why?" She questioned once more.

He was confused, certainly she would pleased with his work. Perhaps she didn't understand that they might lead him closer to what he'd been looking for. Then again even he didn't know what he was looking for.

"Bill you need to wake up, come outside, get some fresh air, it feels like you're going crazy." Veronica reasoned.

Bill sighed and said fine before walking out with her. He let out a soft hiss as the sun struck his eyes.

"I changed my mind, I don't want to be out here anymore." He said quickly, attempting to tug his wrist out of Veronica's grasp.

"Bill please stay away from that book. Just for a little bit." She pleaded.

"But it has answers!" He shouted.

"It also makes you suffer! I see it in you. You haven't left that barn for weeks, Bill! I know it gives you headaches and gives you bad dreams. I came up to see you and you were tossing around in your sleep. You were screaming Bill. Crying out for help." Veronica whispered.

Bill slowly stopped pulling against her and walked closer to her.

"I'll stay with you but only for a little while." He said.

"Fine." Veronica replied before dragging him to the river.

She playfully shoved him in and the caked dirt and mud on his clothes began to fall off. He swam closer to the bank and subconsciously began drawing symbols into the soft dirt.

"Bill!" Veronica shouted.

"Sorry." He replied before looking at the symbols.

It was a strange circle with different shapes and symbols in sections. His hands itched to draw more but Veronica's voice drew him away from it.

"Are you alright?" She questioned, brushing hair out of Bill's face.

"I'm fine. Just got a little distracted is all." He said softly.

Veronica helped pull him out of the water and she pulled him along. She covered his eyes and Bill began to fumble around as she told him repeatedly, "it's a surprise!" Every time he asked where they were going.

"Surprise!" Veronica shouted removing her hands.

Bills gasped as he instantly recognized the place as the home he once had in the attic of the hotel. It looked nicer now, cleaned up, swept, everything intact. The window let in a steady stream of sunlight which highlighted a little table with a China set and a picnic basket.

"Thought you would want something to eat." Veronica mumbled.

"Thank you, so much." He whispered.

He appreciated the lengths Veronica went to, to get this set up but he just didn't feel hungry. Didn't feel the need for such necessities. Even when she pulled out mini pork sandwiches did he feel even a twinge of hunger.

"Bill? Are you alright?" She questioned.

"Hm? Oh, yeah, fine." Bill mumbled.

"Bill!" Veronica shrieked staring at Bill's plate.

He had redrawn the wheel with symbols onto his sandwich using the end of his spoon he used to stir his tea.

"Bill, please! No more symbols!" She pleaded.

"Fine! I promise!" He shouted, angrily.

He quickly picked up his cup of tea, causing it to spill everywhere. Veronica gasped in what could've been pure horror or shock. The spilled tea showed different symbols and figures. Some were random letters jumbled together and others were pictures like pine trees and shooting stars.

"That's it. Bill just go home. I'll clean up." Veronica whispered.

"But-" Bill began.

"I'm done Bill. Just go home." She whispered.

Bill didn't argue and trudged back to the barn he delayed the process as much as he could. As much as he wanted to learn more he also wanted to avoid those horrible nightmares. He began to panic as he began to see random symbols everywhere he looked. A strange star on a sign, a pair of glasses on a brick wall, a six fingered hand on the dirt. He pushed open the barn door, walked inside, closed the door, and then collapsed.

---

Blood, eye balls, darkness. Strange things flashed in his mind as more symbols appeared. Most were unintelligible but some you could make out. A pyramid with an eye, a flying triangle being worshipped. Who would worship a triangle? A strange creature flashed across his vision, a strange slime secreting from its orifices. The image quickly change to a wall of pink with eyes with different things wrong with them stared. It had several mouths each disputing a different color of saliva. The image soon changed to black and red an unidentifiable creature bolting past and the almost inaudible words of, "I trust you."

---

"Bill! Bill!"

He was being awoken by Veronica. She looked worried and extremely upset.

"Are you alright, Bill?" Veronica questioned.

"I'm fine." Bill mumbled.

"Bill you were muttering something. You were saying, I trust you why? What were you dreaming about? Bill answer me!"

Veronica seemed very panicked. He didn't understand why, considering he was fine.

"It was something someone said. I don't understand it yet." Bill muttered, rubbing his neck.

He suddenly remembered the people worshipping the floating triangle and grabbed a stick before beginning to draw on the dirt floor.

"What are you drawing, Bill?" Veronica questioned.

"Something strange." He admitted.

The one eyed triangle seemed to be floating above all the people worshipping it. It didn't look like they were very happy about worshipping him however.

"Bill, what is this?" Veronica questioned.

"For once, I might know."
