Chapter 1
Hades: refers to the God of the underworld and underworld itself
As of lately, I have been taking walks. On these walks, I tend to question things --most commonly what I am doing as a goddess-- or clear my mind, focusing on this extraterrestrial beauty that surrounds me.
Today, I was walking far --farther than I ever have before. I was examining the celestial bodies, when I noticed something. Something that shouldn't be there. I got closer and realized it was a person... a person...? Hold the phone BISH WHAT?!
"Who are you?!" I called out.
The person saw me at that point, spinning into action. "My dear, how you have strayed off far. Come, let us get you back to your dwelling. Souls are not to wander off, my dear" they said, grabbing my arm and pulling me in a certain direction.
I stopped us. "I am not some lost soul that you may man-handle as you please! I demand to know who you are and where you are taking me!" I demanded, using an authoritative tone.
"I am Demitrius, a guard of the border. I am taking you back to your dwelling. If you continue to resist, dear, back-up will get involved," they replied before trying to move us again.
Well frick I don't care if it's God himself trying to move me. I am a goddess and believe that as such have the right to not go with this Demitrius guy. "Excuse me, Demitrius, but I believe you will find your task quite difficult to accomplish. You won't be able to find my dwelling wherever it is that you're taking me. For I am the Moon Goddess, & all of space is my dwelling. Please call back-up if you deem necessary, but I will not move unless it is upon my own will," I sighed. "Dar Demitrius, you seem like a kind spirit, I hope you understand. And if I may ask,you are not a god, angel, one of Amado-Aurelius' children, nor have any other relations to another spiritual body, so I must ask:why on the moon are you here?"
Demitrius dropped my arm and stooped into a low bow. "Please forgive me, your majesty--for I did not recognize your grace at first. For I am simply a guard following his master's orders. I cannot take you to see my master, his royal highness, but if you would like a tour of the underworld, I shall gladly grant you that wish. So, your majesty--"
"Please call me Luna, & do stand, noble guard."
Demitrius arose and smiled politely. "--my Luna, if you shall permit me to accompany you on a tour, I shall gladly do so.
🌑🌑🌑
On the tour, Demitrius showed me places that remarkably looked liked places on Earth--every detail was perfect, the dwellings, the fauna, the natural resources, items & other now-dwellings, and the weather. Demitrius said that for all that wanted, there was a region where they could find their culture like it was on Earth, just minus violence and any deities they may have previously had. Apparently, his majesty wished everyone complete happiness and contentment in the afterlife. No deity, though, as everyone now knew of God, Eros, Amado, me, & his majesty(?).
Passing by the ancient Rome district, I came across Anneleid, hand-in-hand with a Korean man.
"Anneleid...?" I tentatively called.
Anneleid looked around for a moment before her eyes landed on me. She looked taken-aback, like she couldn't believe her eyes. Then, she started to move towards me. "...Luna?"
I nodded with a reassuring smile. "Yes, 'tis I, dear Anneleid, your Luna."
Anneleid and who I assumed to be her significant other accompanied Demitrius and I on the rest of my tour. I was curious about some things, so I asked, and they answered. A little Q & A session as the millennials and Gen Z kids called it.
"Anneleid, would it be rude of me to assume this man..."
"Hyun-woo," he supplied,
"...is your significant other?"
Anneleid shook her head in dissent. "Not at all, dear Luna. In fact, he's my soul-mate."
"... Soul-mate?" I asked in disbelief. "They... exist here?"
"Yes, his majesty says they aren't as accurate as your fated-pairing --which gosh we all know you pour your heart and soul into, and it shows as they always have, always do, and always will work for all your gens excluding witches, and even then witches are just humans who feel a calling at any given point in time to practice witchcraft and protect the Earth so they don't need mates anyways-- but if there is another soul here whom we would gain great happiness from, more so than another soul, we are noted of our compatibility romantically. We can 'seal-the-deal' if we like. It's like a marriage status, but stronger as we no longer feel attraction to anyone else. The emotions aren't as strong as your gens in mate-bonds, though, Luna," Anneleid explained.
"How interesting..." I muttered. As Anneleid was talking, Ruth came to my mind. Oh... Ruth... I wonder how she fares. Has she met someone else? Has she found someone to 'seal-the-deal' with? Someone... who can treat her better than I ever could?
Anneleid must have noticed worry in my body-language, as she continued talking on a rushed note. "My Luna, f-fret not! Soul-mates aren't required, and I'd say nearly half the souls here have stuck with their significant other from the time of life!"
I smiled gratefully at her. "Good Anneleid, I'm not upset. But I do thank you for your concern."
Anneleid smiled back with a nod.
